The grounds of Maui Sunset are stunning with something for everyone. The BBQs are cleaned daily and better kept than ours at home! The unit itself was spacious enough for 5 adults, and we made use of the comfortable seating and fantastic views on the lanai. New washer/dryer unit came in handy during our 10-day stay, and the AC was clutch during the heat wave our first few days and at night. Good location--20 minutes from OGG, and close drive to groceries, dining and beaches. However, the location is not particularly walkable as there is no sidewalk on the highway for a while, so you definitely need a car. And we had trouble finding a pot or pan that didn't have worn, scratched non-stick. The cooking utensils also need a refresh. But overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed at. The unit had plenty of room, two full bathrooms, very clean and was affordable. The unit was stocked extremely well. It had everything you would need plus more including dishes, pots and pans, towels, beach chairs and boogie boards. Perfect for families or larger groups. It was awesome.

We enjoyed our stay at this property! It was centrally located on the island and was very quiet. The kids enjoyed the pool, shuffle board, and the tennis courts. We appreciated being able to walk to the beach for sunsets and in the morning. It wasn’t a great beach for swimming, but that was okay. The lanai was very nice and we spent a lot of time out there. Renata got in touch before our stay. Her information about the property and the island was helpful, especially as we had never been to Maui before. We enjoyed the property and would stay there again.

Our family spent 9 nights at this condo and loved every second of it. The condo was spacious and clean, with absolutely everything needed to make for a great stay, including ample beach gear for our family of four. The lanai was the perfect place to relax in the shade after hot days on the beach or exploring the island. The resort facility itself was wonderful with well kept grounds, a large pool and hot tub, and lots of other outdoor activities. The resort is beachside with a beautiful sunset view every night.
The host was amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Communication was excellent and she gave us so many tips that made our visit better.

Pros: can’t beat the location, the grounds, the view! The beds were so comfortable! The supply of beach toys and towels were amazing! The window AC units were nice to cool down the apartment on warm afternoons, then we just used ceiling fans at night. The kitchen was well supplied ( so much so that all cupboards were full of dishes and pots so no room to store food)
Cons: a few maintenance issues need attention( bathroom drawers in master bath, slow draining sink in Master bath) the amount of starter soap and shampoo is a little bit of a joke—1 little tube of body wash, 2 of shampoo, and one of conditioner, and a couple of small bars of soap, for 4 people, 6 days. Most VRBO I’ve stayed at lately have large pump bottles of the above. Not that I minded having to buy more, just hated having to spend my vacation time doing that. Also, both bathrooms bottles of handsoap were empty when we arrived, so we had to buy some .
The kitchen and laundry supplies were adequate. One more con, we arrived after 5 on a Saturday. After office hours but I was told no problem, use the phone outside the office and someone will help you after hours to get a pool and parking pass. When I called a most uninterested person said, no way was I getting a pool pass or parking pass until office hours on Monday. So we missed out on the pool on Saturday night and all day Sunday.

We had a wonderful time staying at their property. The condo had everything we needed for a family Hawaiian vacation. Beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and extra blankets were all provided. The owners were gracious and helpful hosts responding to questions and offering tips and suggestions. Definitely recommend and will be returning!

This was a great rental! It was so refreshing to have a bed for everyone, as a family of 5 that never happens! The two bathrooms were also super helpful for us. The accommodation was perfect, but more than anything so was the owner! She was so helpful, giving us ideas of things to do, places to eat, etc. She went above and beyond for us, a late checkout was no problem either. She kept in contact to ensure all was well. I can’t say enough, we can’t wait to stay here again!

The family was torn about location. It is a good location because the distance to many activities on the island were closer than being in Lahaina, especially if you are driving yourself. Neighbourhood seems to have less tourists, resorts/ condos are not high rises. The few beaches we visited on this side were rocky, beach shoes would have been nice, for our liking. There are sandy areas but, more rocky. Saw more fish on the Kaanapali beach side. Lots of activities on the property, pool ( large and clean), shuffle board, pickle ball, tennis to name a few. Property is well maintained..
The condo is also well maintained, the pictures are accurate. It was great to have beach chairs, umbrella and cooler available. It is a comfortable place like a home away from home! The AC was useful when we were in the room, it maybe the time of year but, breezes through the lanai were limited but, definitely cooling. More breeze came through the door.
It’s a nice area with restaurants, shave ice, Longs drug store, snorkelling shops to rent what you need. There are definitely things I am missing. A smaller beach down the road near the Humpback whale marine sanctuary, always has turtles and is an area good for families with small children:-)

Above & Beyond
In short - the whole week went above and beyond expectations. We loved the condo, which was exceptionally well stocked from toys to towels. The people were friendly, the town close by and the snorkeling at Big Beach was amazing. Won't be going back to Kanapali again. Thanks to Joe, the night security - very engaging .

Perfect
Perfect for families. Very nice property, and great price. Awesome snorkeling just down the street. Less crowded beautiful beaches, not fighting with thousands of people for same sand. Food on this side of island soooo much better and far more choices than typical. Don’t miss the hui hui chicken and ribs at Kihei market on wed and sat. Souvenirs cheaper than resort shops as well. Owner called to give tips and was so nice. Unit had all the beach gear you’ll need, except your snorkels. Will stay there again for sure.

Beautiful Kihei Condo
This beautiful condo is really well furnished and supplied - one of the best we have experienced. From staples like coffee, salt and pepper, paper products and linens to extras like snorkel equipment, lawn chairs and sun umbrellas Renata has thought of everything. All the furniture was high quality and very comfortable. We had email and phone communication with Renata before our arrival in Kihei and she was always friendly and most helpful and she called after we arrived to make sure all was well. There was no dining table on the lanai but there was a small wicker table and chairs that we took in and out for our breakfast and dinner so all was well there. Our only disappointment was that the sun was directly on the lanai for much of the day and it was too hot in the direct sun to enjoy the furniture and the view.

Great clean location in Kihei right on the beach. Check in process was simple and fast, place was nice ready when we got there. There were a few minor issues and questions and Renata took care of them immediately. Would definitely recommend this place as a good starting point for the exploration of Maui!

Wonderful retreat!
I was ready to book a return as soon as we left. This place was the most well stocked rental we have ever had! It has everything you need and then some. We had 4 adults & 1 child. The setup was great for us with 2 separate bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals (or just reheat leftovers). There's even beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards & life jackets! The only thing we could have used was a bathmat in the hall bath. The owner is so sweet and helpful with answering questions & giving tips! The property management does a great job as the grounds are immaculately kept. The grounds crew are out sweeping leaves and cleaning the grills daily among other routine upkeep. The check-in process was the only stressful part as we were nervously waiting for the email with the code to enter our unit and hoping we accurately submitted all the required info! Once we were in though, the stress melted away and we quickly settled in. We went on to Oahu after our stay and were so disappointed in the next place because it was not as comfy as this one!

Great location in Kihei
Check-in was a little cumbersome due only to Covid, but it’s all for safety. The condo was extremely clean, and beds were super comfortable. So nice to have a washer/dryer in the condo, and everything we could need was supplied in the kitchen as well. The pool area is very nice, with a restroom right there, and there was maintenance going on at all times so everything is very clean. It’s also right on the ocean so you can walk on the beach. It’s not super-wide, but very nice. I’d stay there again.

The Perfect Location in Kihei
We had a great experience staying in Renata's condo. The check in process was a bit rocky but only because I failed to read the instructions sent from the rental mgmt company. It looked like spam to me so I disregarded the emails. Dumb move on my part. Renata was awesome in helping us get it resolved quickly so we could get the code to the condo. I will say, we stay in many rentals and Renata's had the best supply of kitchen tools as well as items for a great day at the beach. Super comfortable beds too which is important to me.

Traveled here with my wife and 3 kids (teens and early 20), and this place was perfect for what we needed. It offers everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We absolutely loved our 11 night stay in Renata’s condo! Very clean and comfortable! Location was amazing! With the condo property, we had great parking. Elevators were clean and quick to access! The view of the beach/ocean, pool and golf putting grass from outside our condo was refreshing! All just a quick elevator ride away and a short walk. 6 nice grills provided and cleaned spotless each day for your grilling needs.The pool and hot tub were great!The furniture inside and outside the condo were top notch! I think condo A408 looked like it had the nicest outdoor furniture on the property! My opinion at least!The door to the condo is accessed by a keypad code so no keys to worry about! A/C unit in each room and worked well when we used them but it wasn’t really needed too often in mid-May!Extras! Renata had 5-6 beach chairs, 3 boogie boards, 2 coolers, and umbrellas that were available and we did end up using. The condo was spacious and was equipped with everything you need to get started and more! The kitchen was well equipped with all pots, pans, dishes, griddles, toaster, drip coffee machine and some filters. Has a wine cooler as well! Ice maker is the freezer plus ice it free and available at the pool as well! Some cooking spray, salt and pepper and a few other extras were available as well.Really impressed with Renata’s condo! The ONLY tip I offer is to bring or purchase beach towels when visiting Maui. There were 2 beach towels in the condo and we did use them each day. Oh yes…there is also a washer and dryer in the condo as well that we used often!Strongly recommend this condo to my closest friends! Nice condo full of options
My wife and I stayed here with my adult daughter and her boyfriend. The beds were very comfortable. The A/C worked great. The view from the balcony was nice, we sat out there every morning to eat breakfast. Loved that there was a washer and dryer. The Maui Sunset property was very well taken care of and is a great place to watch sunsets. The location was on the main Kihei road, but away from the hustle and bustle of the busiest parts and road noise wasn't a problem. Some reviewers said to bring earplugs because the unit was near the elevator, but we didn't have any problem with noise. We used the body boards, the beach chairs, the beach towels, the snorkel gear, and the beach floats that the owner has available to use in a gear locker in the condo. We got into Maui late and called the after hours number for the Maui Sunset property management when we got through the airport. They promptly texted me the room door code to get in. The pool and hot tub were nice. We enjoyed playing shuffleboard, using the facility equipment. We had no troubles. Overall great experience.

Maui condo is the worse
I have been to many airbnb and vrbo, and this experience by far is the worse. Maui condo is the absolute worse. I had to call them 3 times to get my keys access reset/ changed because I was locked out. Left numerous messages as I was unable to get into my room.

We absolutely loved our stay at Maui Sunset and I personally wanted to stay at this condo because we were traveling with our four children and I wanted them all to sleep in a separate bedroom and not have a sleeper sofa in the common area. The couches were so comfortable that a few nights my kids wanted to sleep in the living room and the great couch on the lanai was so nice to relax on as well. The condo came stocked with plenty of chairs towels, pool noodles, umbrella, coolers and even some snorkeling equipment. The kitchen is fully stocked and we did lots of cooking in the condo so that was very nice. With it being Covid the only things we had to deal with was wearing our masks around the property and only four people in the hot tub at a time and a very diligent night guard that strictly enforces this haha! The manicured property is so beautiful and we loved the sunsets from the beach. At night there were always turtles swimming right close to the sand. I can’t say enough good things about working with Renata. She responds quickly and we talked on the phone and she was just so personable. We had a six hour delay for our flight home and we had to stay an extra day and she quickly made that possible. If I had anything negative to say about the condo is that it could use a little thinning out of items. There are tons of knives, water pitchers and pans that are the same size and lots of cups and I’m sure just lots of things that guests have left over time. It made it so there was not space for the groceries. But other than that it was fantastic! My kids already want to go back!

Lovely base camp in Maui
This was a wonderful place to begin and end our days in Maui. While we did not use the pool It looked lovely. The balcony was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee. The kitchen was stocked with everything one would need to prepare a meal and there were grills outside for community use. That said, other than maybe a sunny side up egg in the morning, cooking is something I do not do on vacation.
We were very happy to find beach towels, boogie boards and chairs to use. We left bug spray, umbrellas, 3 rain unused rain panchos and a bottle of wine behind for the next guests to enjoy.
There are only 3 of us so the condo was spacious. Renata (the owner) was super responsive and just lovely. She offered many fabulous suggestions for beaches and snorkeling locations.
The location is great for beach going and it only a 30 minute trip to Lahaina and Paia. We were out and about every day of our stay.
It is a lovely condo, perfect for a family and I highly recommend staying here. Only suggestions I would have for visitors is to bring earplugs for sleeping because the unit is close to the elevators and a few mornings we were woken up well before sunrise by some very early risers who happened to be very loud as well.

My home away from home
We have stayed in this suite many times and it is just fabulous! We stayed for 2 months this time and it really was our home while we were there. The suite is well suited for preparing meals and just hanging out if needed. Renata is amazing to work with and makes everything so easy. Can not wait to be back for next year.
