About this house rental
Enjoy this beautiful, large private vacation home in Vail. Located on Vail Mountain, between Vail Village and Lionshead Village, you can easily walk to the ski trail above the Eagle Bahn Gondola, and to all the shops and restaurants in Vail Village. Everyone will remember the location in the woods, the warmth, and the amazing bunk room. The large deck off the living room has a private hot tub and gas grill. The other side of the duplex is separate and not part of this rental.
FEATURES: 5-bedrooms, 6-baths. Enter on the ground floor to a huge mud-room to change out of your ski gear, then walk in the bunk room featuring 6 built-in twin bunks and LCD TV. In the hall are two bathrooms with walk-in showers and a laundry room.
On the second level is the living room, kitchen, a second bedroom with a queen bed and full bath, and a third bedroom with a queen bed and full bath.
Upstairs is a fourth bedroom with two twin beds that can be pushed together to make a king, with a full bathroom, a small loft with a full-bed, and a primary bedroom with a king bed, LCD TV, and bathroom with a walk-in shower.

The property manager was more than helpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
Reviewer Comments:
The property was extremely dated (as mentioned in other reviews). There were also issues you would expect from an older place like wear and tear. It would be super easy to update the house and make this place truly amazing.
4.2
The house is in a great location but in need of lots of repair. There is no AC which would not be a problem but a lot of the windows had no screens, and the cranks on several of the windows were broken. We had no choice but to open the windows to attempt to keep the house cool so we had some bugs in the house because of no screens. The deck is very large and there were pretty flowers, but the wood was rotting and there were small holes around the hot tub that were dangerous for kids. Some of the windows had no window treatments so the sun really heated up the house. The curtains that were there were sheer so did not provide protection from the sun or privacy at night. The bathrooms have not been updated, but that was not an issue and was expected from previous reviews. The water dispenser in the refridgerator turned from cool water to hot water numerous times. I called and asked for it to be fixed and never even got a return call. The kitchen sink faucet leaked slightly and the hot water dispenser at that sink did not work. There were tears in the upholstery of the couch in the family room. The house has tremendous potential but needs a lot of attention. The surrounding homes in the neighborhood are beautiful so it was a surprise to find this one so lacking in upkeep. Previous reviews complained about the washer and dryer but they have been replaced and were fine.

The overall experience was very good, we found pretty much what the pictures showed. It has a prime location with a short walk to the slopes and Lionshead Gondola, and a short walk to Vail Village. We loved the jacuzzi on the deck. The kitchen is very well equipped, although some appliances such as the toaster could be renewed. If it were my house, I would DEFINETLY change the washer and the dryer in the laundry. They do work but not at their best. Management came to check them and tried their best to make them work better. We had one or two other issues which were taken care of promptly.I would stay here again.

Reviewer Comments:
A perfect house and location; walking distance to skiing and to the Vail Villages. It was well laid out, and had the best bunk room for kids. Most rooms had a bath or access to a private bath. A great place to stay for multiple families. Lots of different levels to spread out. The house was very clean, a must for me, and it had everything you need for a wonderful stay. The management company was very responsive to any inquiries.

Great location. Clean. Really dated- bathrooms need redo.

This was an excellent home to stay in. Just a short 10 min walk to downtown vail village. I would for sure stay here again if staying in vail!

House did not look at all like pictures.....false advertising.
Outside Grill didnt heat above 300 degrees (can't grill at that temperature) due to massive build-up of crud...hadnt been cleaned in long time.
Upstairs shower never got hot and would barly trickle down water if anywhere in the house used water.
Kurig Coffee Machine was broken
Worst of all is the Downstairs TV didnt work for the entire time we stayed at the house (December 26th - January 4). I was scrambling and basically unwatchable.
Property Managment Service was poor. Never fixed the TV issue, told me they came out to address and was fine (but never worked for me.....I have pictures of the unwatchabler TV every day if anyone wants to look at), told me there were no other places to relcate when there were other listings on VRBO still available and basically just kicked my requests of fixing to the curb.
My family and friends are huge football fans and all we simply wanted to do after skiing all day was to relax and watch football in this house. We couldnt so we were forced to go to hotel lobbies or restaurants where we could watch the games we wanted to watch and spend many more dollars doing that than we should have had to.

Our family of two adults and three teenagers loved this house! If you read the reviews and know what you are getting - an older home which was sparkling clean with all the necessities that hasn’t been updated, in an amazing location at a great price for the location - you will love this house. It is a short walk to the trail and a nice walk to Vail Village and Lionshead. The hot tub works well and CAN fit 4 adults (unlike previous reviews have commented). The kitchen and common area are comfortable and the kitchen is very well stocked. Our family loved the number of full bathrooms - 6!! Washer and dryer could be updated as it took a long time to dry things. There are some other things in the house that don’t work (hot water tap in kitchen sink, trash compactor), but they did not at all detract from the great time we had here.

Reviewer Comments:
Location was killer as it was about 1/4 mile walk to ski in/ski out location near the Gondola in Lions Head. We had 7 guys and house was plenty big in which we could of had another 3-4 and still been just fine. The overall condition was to be expected with dated furniture but who really cares as the location made up for the decor. The only 2 issues we had were the hot tub worked for 2 hours on the 2nd night and then wouldn't get over 93 degrees and the Keurig coffee maker did not work from the start after we bought 60 pods however they had a coffee maker in which we just poured the pods into. Will definitely stay again as we had a blast....

Walking distance to Vail Village and Lionshead Village. Does need some updating, but would definitely stay again just based on the great location.

Unbelievably wonderful location, interior of home was very clean. Otherwise the property was in terrible shape, Garbage cans looked like they had been sprayed with vomit and smelled horrible. Beautiful deck situation, but the wood deck was in terrible need of refinishing/painting. Lots of small issues but only called on the garbage can situation. Property manager was VERY pleasant and responsive, Didnt call on anything else as it would have required constant visits by management to correct problems.

This was like staying at my grandparents house- very welcoming- board games and puzzles. Lots of room for all the kids. A short walk on level street to Vail Village. I would stay here again.

The location is the feature. But it was not nice to arrive with the deck full of snow, plastic glasses in the floor, cigarretes and dirt. You should receive your costumers with that deck clean. We also had issues with the door in the badroom and some light bulbs were not working. Some furniture in the house need to be renew. Certainly a price per night adjustment will be more fair for the type of inner experiencie in the house.

While the house is a bit dated it had tons of space and was conveniently located. We took a short walk down the street and were able to jump on the slopes and ski down to lions head. There are a ton of stairs to get to the main level so it was a bit of a hike every time. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Overall it was a great stay.
4.2
The location of this home is terrific! We walked everywhere and the location allowed us to come and go as we pleased, rather than having to leave and return home together. We appreciated the different levels of the house as it afforded more privacy to our group. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom which was a huge bonus. There is a heating issue in the bunk room but after the first night, we turned on the space heaters and that solved the problem. The driveway heaters were functioning well. Vail Management was very attentive and so easy to work with. As other reviewers point out, this home is in a neighborhood of extravagant homes but it is a dated ski house. I suspect few if any of the nearby homes are rentals and if there are some rentals, they would cost much more than this home. For us, the location was more important than the interior and the rental price reflects the dated interior. This is a duplex but we did not see or hear the neighbors. There are televisions in most of the bedrooms and one in the living area. There is a coffee maker and a small keurig. There are 2 dishwashers in the kitchen but the place is in need of new pots, pans and other kitchen items (no colander or tupperware/storage containers). We did not use the fireplace or the hot tub. We were very pleased with our stay and would stay at this same house if we return to Vail.

This house offers lots of beds and an easy walk up Beaver Dam Rd to access the slopes (via Lionshead). This is, we’ve heard, the only rental in this neighborhood and one of the few areas that are close to ski-in, ski-out. It’s also an easy walk the other direction to Vail Village. We did not need a car. The garage has a wagon for pulling a load of skis up the hill. And so many sleds. And the management company was very responsive to our questions and a some minor maintenance issues.
However- though the house sleeps a lot of people, there is only 1 living room area and the hot tub fits a MAX of 4 adults, but really only 2 comfortably. And as other reviewers have commented, the house itself is pretty beat. So if you know all of this going in and can overlook the flaws, you’ll have an awesome ski week and when you find out how much the houses on the street are worth ($20-30M) it will all make sense.

Folks trust me don't do it. For Christmas/New Years we paid over $20K for this rental. As we drove down the road on the first day we were so excited as we were passing unbelievable homes. When we pulled up, we were let down, but were still excited. Then we went inside and realized that this home, outside of the kitchen, hasn't been updated since 1988 when this house was built.
Here is a list I kept: driveway heater to melt snow didn't work correctly and kept tripping breaker to the heat. Speaking of heat, good luck figuring out the baseboard heating and decades old thermostats everywhere. Living room furniture older than dirt and one of the couches didn't have cushions on the back. In VRBO photos it shows two leather couches. There is only one and the other couch doesn't have the back cushions. Dryer was awful, and venting hot air into the basement level. We found a slice of pizza in the lamp shade in one of the bedrooms. Master bathroom faucet was about to come off. Lower level smoke alarm dangling from the ceiling. Only TVs in the master and main floor had cable, the other rooms had tv's, but didn't have cable and didn't mirror your phone: why bother. The cable did not work upon arrival and that was fixed, but broke again which I handled myself with comcast. The deck was not shoveled so getting to the hot tub was not possible: but management company did come out once to shovel on the first day after being called. The guy was nice enough to leave a shovel after being tipped $20. Speaking of hot tub, it was so small no more than 2 adults can fit in there comfortably.
Everything was old: bedding, pillows, furniture, carpet, hot tub...everything.
Vail Management should be ashamed for putting their name on this house as should VRBO; especially at the outrageous price charged. Lastly, you need to be prepared to walk. Posting says 900ft to slopes. Its a 1/4 mile uphill making it awful walking that in ski boots and carrying ski's.

Located walking distance from the mountain this property was in the ideal spot. Unfortunately the interior of the house needs updating and we saw at least one mouse scurrying around in the kitchen each night. Sleeps a lot of people for large groups though. Overall decent experience, love Vail, but will for sure look for a different house next time

Great Family Gathering
During this COVID-19 time it was great to find a house big enough for our 11 member family at our favorite location in Vail. The house was located between Lions Head and Vail village. A beautiful setting very isolated from other homes. We were able to walk everywhere. We loved the large deck and large kitchen. We did a lot of cooking and grilling. A great family reunion.

Christmas Vacation
This house was perfect for a party of 10! There are more pros than cons. Walking distance to the slopes and Vail Village. The living room with a wood burning fireplace and hot tub on the deck was a perfect place the wind down after a day on the slopes. The bed rooms were large and bathrooms were nice. The bunk room was fabulous, it also was great to have two full bathrooms on the same level as well. The heated driveway and heated tile in the mud room were the perfect touch. The only con is there were very few pots and pans in the kitchen. Be aware, this house has tons of stairs if that is a problem for anyone. You enter into the mud room as well as bunk room, two full baths and laundry room. Climb two flights to two more bedrooms with queen size beds and each room has their own bath. Up another level to the spacious kitchen and living room. One more flight to the loft area and the twin room with its own bath room. Lastly to the large master! We loved this house and met our expectations for our trip! Thanks!

Fabulous location, great for families
We had a wonderful stay in this home. The weather was amazing and we spent most of our time on the huge deck that had many seating areas....which provided different games going on at different tables.....so much fun! The house is set in a gorgeous neighborhood and a great value. If anyone has any mobility issues, there are quite a few stairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend the home to anyone who can climb stairs.
4.2
Nice but dated
This property is in a great location for both summer and winter. Its outside deck is large and a great place to hang out. It has sleeping accommodations for lots of people. The down sides? It is really dated. It was built in the 80s and looks like it. Musty smell, dated fixtures, small old bathrooms. The Master Bedroom is large but does not have a dedicate mater bath. The two Queen rooms and the twin rooms do have their won bathrooms, which is strange. The lenoleum in the bathrooms is coming up in several places and is a trip hazzard.

we had a wonderful family vacation!
We loved the location! The house is very spacious and the terrace is beautiful. The house itself is a little outdated and it could use a new bbq. regardless we had a wonderful time and would rent again......

Vail Retreat
The house was perfect. Walking distance to both Gondola 1 and Eagle Bahn. The house had character and fit our group perfectly. Plenty of bathrooms so no one was fighting for space.
Great kitchen/living area and the deck with a hot tub was great too. We would stay here again for sure! The only downfall is the amount of steps in the house coupled with the thin air. This place is 5 STARS!!!
4.2
Great place for big families or large groups!
Such a warm delightful home!
