About this apartment rental
This newly renovated, trendy apartment offer everything a traveller could desire, from comfortable big size beds with top quality bedding, guaranteed to give a great night’s sleep, to a fully equipped kitchen complete with a washing machine, dishwasher and a stocked coffee machine to use at your leisure. Each room is well prepared for those hot summer nights with air-conditioning units throughout the apartments. Share moments together in the common spaces of the apartments – the dining room and living room (with a 50'' TV).
The apartment has five bedrooms, all with wardrobes and reading lights. Two of the bedrooms are complete with en-suite bathrooms.
The apartment is set up by default to accommodate 10 guests, with 6 single beds and 2 double beds. For bookings exceeding 10 guests, additional single beds will be added to the bedrooms, accommodating up to a maximum of 14 guests.
Please note that there is a city tax of EUR 4 per person, per night is not included in the total price and should be paid on site. This tax is charged to guests aged 13 and older. It is subject to a maximum amount of EUR 28 per guest.

Appartement was spacious, well equipped. Great location. Decor would need some updating and bathroom in large room with 2 beds needs a vanity change. Its always nice to have space around the sink. We feel that large room should have the large bed and the other large room should have the two single beds. Make it an ensuite bathroom master as well. Aside from that all great. Staff were simply amazing!!

We had 4 children, 6 adults and 2 seniors and the layout of the apartment and the amenities allowed us plenty of room with enough beds for all. The kitchen was adequate for a chef to cook two meals for us and seating was enough for all 12. Air conditioning was appreciated as the days grew hotter. The staff (from the adjacent hostel) was outstanding. The washer and dryer was used by all and allowed us to travel with less baggage than usual. The location and Praca Marques de Pombal was near public transit and also the Parc Eduardo VII.

We started planning this vacation trip nearly two years ago; to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, my husband, our 3 sons, their 3 spouses, and our 4 grandchildren decided on a trip to Portugal. We spent 5 days in Lisbon and then moved out to the Barca Charm House in Colares. What an treasure! I knew we wanted to be close to Sintra and near to beaches and coastal villages. Colares was the perfect location! I read reviews of all the 5-bedroom houses I could find in the area; while there were several lovely possibilities, I was struck by all the over-the-top comments about Sandra and Eduardo, the incredible hosts at Barca Charm House. It was primarily because of this that we chose their place - and we were so glad we did! Sandra and Eduardo were so responsive to every request or question we had; they also gave us many incredible recommendations about little places to visit, wonderful restaurants to try, and the best local markets for purchasing whatever we needed. They were an absolute delight to deal with - I now feel like we have "family" in Portugal!
The Barca Charm House is really lovely, decorated with colorful little touches everywhere - I smile just thinking about the happy colors and delightful spaces, lots of room for everyone! Sunlight and open windows with beautiful breezes! The pool was used daily and the kids had so much fun in the garden with its playhouses, badminton, tennis tetherball and more. My husband and I brought our 4 grown children and their spouses to Porto,Fatima and Lisbon. Te Cruz apartment was well equipped for our group of 10 adults. Only challenge was a breaker that operated the air conditioners in half the apartment that would trip- but staff would quickly fix it. Apartment had both a washer and dryer which was amazing. Location was just a block from the markets on Liberty St and the metro station.

Our stay in Lisbon was enhanced by coming home after a long day of sightseeing to this beautiful home. The space is enormous, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the bedrooms were large and comfortable. The neighborhood is walkable to a great supermarket, many restaurants and specialty stores. As with all of Lisbon, hills abound, but using Uber is reasonably priced and made getting around easy. The management team was helpful and communicative. We would highly recommend this rental !! Thanks for providing a fabulous place to call home in Lisbon.

Great place for large group with lots of spaces to hang out in. Large dining room, good kitchen, and convenient washer and dryer. Located near Metro stop but also just a 20-minute walk to Rossio station in the heart of the city. Wouldn’t hesitate to return here.

Wonderful, spacious, quiet apartment. The beds were comfortable. The location was near the metro and near a park. There were a lot of varied restaurants nearby. The five bedrooms inferred plenty of space for our large group of nine. Would highly recommend .

Property was adequate for our group, with very large and cozy living area. Kitchen and dining areas were good. Internet was reliable, considering there were 14 of us. The apartment was clean and in very good condition. The beds are average--not super comfy, but not terrible either. There was even room for a couple of more beds in the room where the owner put 4 twin beds. Instead of putting a set of bunk beds in what was basically a large hall closet, I would have rather the owner put the bunk beds in the other big room with the 4 twin beds and private bath. That hall closet area had no circulating air, except for a pole fan that the owner provided.
A word to future guests: The property that you think you book may or may not be the property you get. What the owner has posted online is "representative" of the kinds of apartments he has, but not all of his apartments look like that. He promised us a 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom apartment, which is what we got, but it certainly was not the one shown online (the owner has 6 apartments in this building, and all, according to him, are 5 bedrooms).
While the owner did respond very promptly to all of my messages I sent him through VRBO before and once during our stay, I would have liked being able to either email or text him directly without having to open up my reservation each time on the VRBO site. Also, I would have appreciated knowing ahead of our trip that we needed to pay a deposit of 10€ per apartment key, as that had to be done in cash (so it could be refunded at the end of our stay). Since we didn't get to the apartment until after the banks had closed, and because none of the ATMs around that area are on the Multibanco network, we had no way to get any € right then. The only reason I had any € at all was because I had brought some home from my last Europe trip a few years ago, and I used most of this for deposits for five apartment keys.
We had one small issue one morning with no hot water. Unfortunately, when I tried calling the hostel as instructed for help with anything when we checked in, nobody answered the phone, and this was after 6am on a weekday. So, I had to take a very cold shower, get dressed, then walk over to the hostel to explain the problem. Thankfully, they were very helpful and someone came right over to turn the water heater back on. Later another person came to check it and make sure it was running properly.
Overall good experience. Will consider staying here again.

We were a group of 10 girls and stayed here for a hen party in November, all communication before we arrived was answered quickly and I found it all to be very helpful! On arrival check in process was quick & easy, show around if the apartment was thorough and it had everything we could have needed for a weekend away. It was very spacious and the beds were super comfortable, one room has a balcony which was perfect for the smokers of the group. We found the location perfect to use as our base for the weekend for getting out and seeing the sights of Lisbon. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for other large groups.

Beautiful Apartment. We were two families and it was perfect. Location is not downtown but 5 minutes drive to all the interesting spots. Still there are many bars and restaurants around.

The location was great — very central and convenient for everything we wanted to see in Lisbon. Miguel and his team were very helpful and check-in was easy. The double beds were very uncomfortable. They really need new mattresses, but all of the single beds were very comfortable. A real plus was having a laundry room right in the apartment. The kitchen could have been better equipped, but maybe the expectation is that most people would eat out. Having a Nespresso machine was a nice touch and so were the welcome “goodies.” Only having one towel per person for our 5 night stay and none provided for the baby was not good. All in all the apartment is a good one and with a few adjustments it could be excellent. We enjoyed our stay.

Posh appartment in central location
Exceeded expectations. Nicely updated, centrally located (walking to almost all the places you'd want to visit), proximate to many bakeries and restaurants, and a 20 min ride to the airport. The folks running the apartment are fluent in English, friendly and helpful. One BR has 3 beds which can be awkward if you have pairs of people staying. Many rooms have attached baths which is really great. And a working washer/dryer was very useful. All in all, really a sparkling find.

Great apartment
This was the first of three apartments we stayed at in Portugal (2 nights in Lisbon, three in Porto, then two more in Lisbon). We were two parents our four children (aged 20-24) and a boyfriend.
The hostel next door is open 24 hours and someone from the hostel did a great job of walking us through the apartment and pointing out all the details. We really appreciated his thoroughness as it made things easy. (This was something we appreciated even more in a different apartment, where the person was not as thorough and we spent literally hours trying to get the washer and dryer to work correctly. It made us value what a great job he did in orienting us to this apartment.)
The location was nice, in a central part of Lisbon. The apartment itself was also great. Five nice bedrooms, and the pictures show them well. The Wifi worked well, and we loved (!!) that there was a portable hotspot we could carry with us during the day. Great restaurants nearby.
We would definitely stay there again if we came back to Lisbon. Thanks!

Clean, with plenty of space for my large group
My group of 10 adult family members stayed here in August and found the apartment to be very nicely located and appointed. Not far from a Metro stop, it was easy to reach from the airport and having the check-in handled by the hostel next door allowed us to start our sight-seeing even before the apartment was ready for us (the hostel staff was kind enough to hold all our bags until the official check-in time). The apartment was very clean with plenty of private rooms and more than enough bathrooms that allowed for a quick start to each day. Air conditioning worked great and was a big relief when coming in from a hot August day spent exploring Lisbon. The apartment is well located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of most of the main sights and many dining options. I would definitely stay here again, and would have rated it 5 stars if it weren't for just a couple of things: 1) The beds are really pretty uncomfortable, well beyond what I would normally consider "firm." After a long day of sight-seeing, though, I still slept soundly every night. 2) Each of the four toilet seats was cracked and we weren't warned about it, making for a surprise wobble upon first use. When I mentioned it to the hostel staff they said they were aware so I wish they would have made us aware as well so we were a) prepared and b) certain we hadn't some how broken them ourselves. It seems like an easy enough issue to fix, far less expensive than buying all new mattresses so I'm not sure why they haven't. Nevertheless, as previously stated, I would definitely recommend this apartments and would stay here again myself.
