Great spot for family to hang out for 5 nights and great location.

This place is homey. I felt right at home. It’s an older home with lots of charm, where you can relax. Best asset was everything you needed was already there: spices, cutlery, dishes, shampoo, soap, hair dryer, laundry, etc. Restaurants & shops only a block away! Beautiful deck out back for morning tea or after dinner drink. I had questions for hosts & they responded right away & were very helpful. 😃

We had such a great time! This house made our trip-we were with our three children under 5 and my in-laws in their 70s and this house worked for everyone. The location was also amazing! Such an easy walk to great restaurants, coffee, and bars. It was also fairly easy to get places around Portland from here. We will recommend for anyone going.

This was a cute old house that was well stocked! The location was great for restaurants and shops. The stairs were a little steep and there is no bathroom upstairs which could be difficult if you had little kids or older adults. We didn't need the upstairs bedrooms so it worked ok for us.

Everything was as advertised. Check in and out was easy. Walking distance to Mississippi Ave restaurants and shops.

My small family had a lovely reunion here. The first-floor bedrooms were great for the elders; our 11-year-old loved the cosy little bedroom on the second floor. Fantastic location in a wonderful neighborhood with plenty of top dining, shopping, coffee/tea, and other walkable destinations, and not far from almost anything in Portland. The house is old and there are some idiosyncrasies (no bathroom on the second floor) -- we love an interesting house. The house is beautiful and the owner was always helpful.

Nostalgic home walking distance to several eateries. It was nice not to have to find parking since there was an area on property to park. Easy access to freeway.

This house is charming and comfortable. Great upstairs for the teens and two bedrooms for adults on first floor. Kitchen well stocked and easy to use. Location was great - close to transportation, variety of restaurants, and shopping. We managed without a car pretty well for most of the trip. No problem with parking when we did have a car.

The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet and the location is within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, shops and food trucks. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again.

Great Stay in Portland
My three friends and I had a great experience staying at the Spacious Urban Retreat. It was very comfortable and in a great location for us to enjoy the local area and be able to branch out to the mountains and the sea coast. The kitchen was well supplied to meet our needs. All of the beds were comfortable and the bedding and towels were plentiful. Access to cleaning supplies and the washer and drier was very helpful. Great local eateries and nice shops to explore.

Nice large home with everything you would need that is located in a fun neighborhood.
The house is very spacious. There was plenty of room for the 7 adults and 3 month old baby. Bedrooms were a good size.
The 2 bathroom/showers easily handled our large group. The kitchen and large kitchen table made for many big meals. Two coffee makers (pod and drip) were very nice to have.
The kitchen is equipped with a nice supply of pots, pans, dishes, coffee cups, drinking glasses, etc. The large dishwasher worked great. The washer/dryer really came in handy during our 6 day stay. The property has a nice front porch and decent sized back yard deck with BBQ. There are two spots in the back for secure parking. Free, secured, high speed internet was a plus. Finally the neighborhood is really nice. The Mississippi shopping district is a block from the house and has many fine shops, bars, restaurants, and convenience stores. It is a short tip from the house to downtown Portland. Overall this is a very nice home in a great neighborhood.

Wonderful place to stay for a large family gathering!
Julie’s house is large and comfortable with lots of character and charm. We were here for a family wedding and seven of us had plenty of space. The neighborhood is fun for walking in the Mississippi area with good restaurants and shops. I would certainly stay here again.

We were a group of 5 friends (professional women in our 30s) spending the weekend together and this was a perfect property for us. It has a full kitchen if you want to cook, and it's also walkable to tons of restaurants if you don't want to cook. There was plenty of space so none of us felt cramped. Everyone liked the place and we would definitely recommend it.

Wonderful Stay in a Charming Home
Thank you very much for our stay! The house is charming, and we loved being able to use the large kitchen to cook meals for many people. The house is very spacious and accommodated our group wonderfully. All of the details were worked out ahead of time, and there were helpful notes throughout the house with instructions. We especially loved the patio outside - many thoughtful touches from the owners! I absolutely recommend this property for your stay in Portland.

Great family rental in wonderful location
This house is in a wonderful location -- only one block from the shops and restaurants on N Mississippi Street. So convenient. The house itself is great for groups; there is a big kitchen and dining area, as well as a big kitchen. The upstairs area is more for kids (smaller beds and no bathrooms). The owner was very communicative and helpful. Check out and check in was very easy. I would definitely come back!

Awesome house!
The house is in a great neighborhood. Right around the block from Mississippi Ave, which has a bunch of stores and places to eat. There were 7 of us and more than enough room for everyone. We loved hanging out in the tv room upstairs. We didn't use it because we always had parking in front of the house, but there's off street parking in the back. Julieann was a great host. She always responded quickly when I messaged her. I definitely recommend staying in this home!

Awesome!
We are a big family who came together in Portland for a sort of reunion. The house was perfect for 3 generations. We could have amazing meals at the house or walk to cool shops, bars and restaurants within a couple of blocks. The kids thought the attic was it’s own special fort for them where they could play one of the great games, with some of the toys or read the books that were available to them. This is truly a gem in the city. Hopefully we’ll be back again!

Amazing and comfortable house, perfect base in Portland!
We had an absolutely amazing stay at this lovely house in Portland. The location is perfect, right next to Mississippi Avenue which has loads of bars and cafes, and with several public transport links to the city centre. The house is very well equipped with everything you could ask for. It really felt like a home away from home, and a lovely place to relax in the evenings. Julie, the owner, was extremely responsive and answered any questions we had very quickly. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a place to stay in Portland!

This Place is AMAZING!
Juliann made us feel completely welcome! We were a group of 9 on a weekend getaway trip and had a total blast. There is plenty of space, the kitchen is wide open with a large island for everyone to gather around. Gas stove and all of the materials for great cooking! An excellent sound system in the house for tunes! A perfect patio and backyard for relaxing and getting some fresh air. And above all, a classic Portland touch inside the house giving it a lot of culture and warmth. We were nine guys and we all loved the place! Highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in Portland.
