This is a nice well maintained lodge in a beautiful albeit remote location. The kitchen is well equipped and the house is thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The one thing that my family sorely missed was a washer/dryer. I think that for a house of this size in a remote location, a laundry would be a much needed addition.

Very quiet and peaceful property to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Friendly and very interactive host. Easy to get hold and communicate with her. Definitely consider staying here again. Just missed a tower fan in the living area during the stay as it was too hot during our stay otherwise it was a wonderful experience.

In the chaos of life and uncertainty of people, these days, this place was the perfect escape from it all. It was peaceful, remote, but still within 20 minutes of civilization.
It was the perfect reset, reconnect and beautifully put together place.
Barb was amazing, the cabin was wonderfully equipped with enough necessities for our guys weekend. Amazing.

A group of four of us rented this house for a ski trip in nearby Rogers Pass. This was a great house for a group of our four. Spacious, yet still cozy with everything you need for a mountain stay, including a wood stove, back deck and mountain views. Barb was a great host who was easy to contact and super helpful. We would stay here again!

Barb was such a thoughtful host and the cabin was great. Really appreciated Barb’s communication and willingness to go out of her way to make sure that we had the best time. There were many options of things to do and the cabin was well-organized and so cozy. Would definitely go again!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful cabin in the woods and Barb was the ultimate host, recommending things to do and places to visit. Our family felt so comfortable and cosy in this special home away from home and would love to return one day.

Loved EVERYTHING about this place. It's fairly remote and allows you to just reconnect to nature. The outdoor patio was a dream, along with the lights and grill. The kitchen was well stocked. I'd absolutely stay here again.

Barb is fabulous! She is thoughtful in her communication with guests and has literally thought of everything. There is signage all throughout the cabin that helps guests make the most out of their stay. The decor is spectacular and makes you feel right at home. Our kiddos settled in instantly and even they had more they needed to stay entertained all week long. When we weren’t revelling in the splendour of the cabin, our family enjoyed the area based on all of Barb’s recommendations. From river rock collecting, bison ranch touring, mountain lake swimming, everyday was an adventure. In the early mornings, I even took a few mom moments and enjoyed my book in peace in the garden sitting area. It inspired me to take that feeling of tranquility home. On our first day, a bear ventured onto the property. With Barb’s warning, we knew we were in bear country and were able to scare it away for the whole week. Thank you Barb for a wonderful experience - we miss the cabin so much already! Count us in for future stays in the area - your piece of paradise is a must choice!

Spacious cabin in the mountains close to Blaeberry river.
Nice backyard with fire place.
We had an awesome time here, nothing was missing.
Golden is the next town about 20 minutes away.
Gravel road, so high clearance car is recommended but not a must have.
Depends on the time of the year.
Barb was a nice host looking after us.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Barbs! The cabin is fabulous, the location is exactly what we were looking for, and Barb was very helpful with ideas and tips for things to do during our stay. This place came as advertised, and then some! I would highly recommend it! Thanks Barb. We'll be back!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Barb's VRBO. The house was clean and nicely decorated with many pretty features. The yard is huge and the children enjoyed the trampoline and swing. Communication with Barb was great and she worked hard to make our stay relaxing.

Lovely family getaway
Perfect cabin and property for a family vacation. Cabin is well equipped and spacious. The yard is lovely with lots of room for the kids to play. We enjoyed morning coffee on the deck and relaxing on the deck in the sunshine in the late afternoons following a day of exploring. Lots to explore and do in the area.

Peaceful Getaway
Barb's place is amazing! Easily accommodates 4 snorers so we can't hear each other. Beautiful backyard for campfires, sun tanning, yoga, etc. Lots to do in the area. Golden is a beautiful town with a nice brewery. There is a 13km round trip hike to a waterfall with lots to see along the way. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Fantastic mountain retreat
The perfect property for a short break in the mountains with our extended family. Beautifully clean and well-equipped cabin in a stunning location, with plenty of room for six of us (and beds to spare), and tons of things to do both indoors and out. Barb was a pleasure to deal with, with plenty of ideas on how to get the most out of the cabin and the local area. Our stay was over too quickly and we'd certainly like to come back again and explore the lovely Blaeberry valley some more.

Wonderful Mountain Retreat
This property was the perfect place for a family mountain getaway. The property is privately nestled away in the woods. The yard is well maintained and provided a perfect place for the kids to play and explore. The home was spotless with a great layout for multiple families or families with young children. Barb was so helpful in her recommendations for local activities and sightseeing. The check in process was effortless. We would definitely visit again. Everything about the property was exceptional and the area of Golden has so much to offer.

Secluded Mountain Getaway
This property was exactly what we were hoping for. Far enough from Golden to feel secluded, but close enough to drive in. The yard is great for backyard fires and there is lots of shade for hot days. The basement is nice and cool in the Summer. The house had everything we needed. There are also some nice trails very close to the property.
Overall we really enjoyed our time here and would return.

Awesome place to stay amidst nature
Its a beautiful place and the landlord is so helpful in all aspects. Beautiful fireplace, nice firm beds and the house is clean. The only reason why it is 4 star is due to the location, its kind of remote and about 20 minutes away from the town, internet was slow, i know its kind of remote place but still would like to have better internet connectivity. But if you are looking for a place to stay away from phone, internet and busy life etc then this is the best place.

What a beautiful home!
It is so beautiful and peaceful. I love the backyard! We enjoyed coffee in the morning on the couch, BBQ in the evening, made campfire at night. Kids spent lot of time in the sand box and all other toys in the house. It is an unforgettable experience.

Stay away Barb is a Rip Off
Us two families planned to have vacations together to spend some quality time together. We were looking forward for this vacation as it was long due. But unfortunately, it did not go as it should be.
There was no cellular phone coverage within 10km around her house, hence it was bit confusion getting into the house as she were supposed to emailed me the details regarding to enter the house. There is a landline in the house but none of the cordless phones were working, all were dead, we tried to charge them during our stay but no luck. There is only one desk phone upstairs which we had to use to call her, left her voice massages, she called us back after couple of hours, understand that she must be too busy to return our calls. We could have used what’s app to make calls when needed but the internet in the house was as slow as it could be. It is good for nothing. To me this could lead to a security issues as you are in the wilderness with only one landline desk phone, which was located upstairs with no cellular coverage and poor internet, my 2 cents.
Other than that, there are several other issues with the house, those are good enough to make your stay unpleasant, some of them are as follows;
• The gas stove needs to be fixed, as the clicking sound from all the burners continues which was very annoying
• Mattress in the loft was not firm enough, I and my wife had back sour sleeping on it for 3 nights
• Some pillows need to be changed
• Bed sheets were not cleaned, had stains on it
• There should be a microwave in the house, as it is always needed and handy to warm up things quickly and easily
• Upstairs washroom should have a lock
• TV is in the basement with only one couch for 3 peoples to sit and there is no room to put extra chairs. Only option is that rest of the guests to sit on the floor
Last but not the least, when it came to return the damage deposit, she charged me $$ for garbage processing fee, which was never told to me. $$ for extra cleaning fee on top of what I had already paid at the time of booking, another unpleasant surprise.
In a nut shell I would say, Barb is a rip off, please avoid staying in her house, I am sure you can find way better place in same area or near by

Slice of Paradise
Stunning location, Barb is welcoming and responsive, with a beautiful, comfortable space that feels like home. I like to cook, so highlights for me were the fully equipped kitchen and a peaceful morning coffee on the back porch.

Great spot to unplug
This cottage was a perfect retreat for my family. It's stocked with everything you need, yet it's remote enough that we really were able to unplug from city life. Highlights:
-The cottage is nestled in the forest, so the grounds were a lot of fun for the kids
-Lots of privacy
-The wood burning stove in the family room was perfectly cozy
-Plenty of bedrooms and sleeping spaces for my family of six
-The kitchen was awesome
-The space is really well planned and worked perfectly
-The owners are really helpful and supportive
The only wish-list item is that the location was closer to Kicking Horse. It's about a 35-40 minute drive during winter conditions. But don't let that stop you because the benefits of this cottage make the drive well worth while.
We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful house on a beautiful property
My family and I Stayed here during the winter for a trip to Kicking Horae resort. The house had absolutely everything we needed. It was immaculate. The kitchen was well-stocked with any thing you would need. There was more than enough wood and kindling for a couple of fires each day. There were lots of toys and games to keep everyone busy. We would absolutely stay again if visiting the area.
