About this cottage rental
Seaside Greenport Village Historic
District, on Long Island’s North Fork, New York.
“Rose Cottage” is within the Greenport Village Historic District with water views of Sterling Harbour’s busy mooring field of classic to modern sailboats, and power. Fish as close as the Village dingy dock, two doors away: rent a boat, or slip, or launch your own, within a local clam’s throw. Bathe in and eat from some of Long Island’s (or the world’s) most pristine water quality maritime environments.
Greenport Village is the gem of Long Island’s few active seaside villages: off the beaten path yet easily accessible from New York City by the LIRR, Hampton Jitney or car, or from Boston by car or Amtrak and the New London-Orient Ferry.
Rose Cottage is an easy stroll from the Village Center and its restaurants, cafes, boutiques, gourmet shops, many art galleries and antique shops, banks (ATMs), bookstore, hardware and marine supplies, farm stand and supermarket.
Greenport Eating is a pleasure from picnics at the many beaches, or harbour front Mitchell Park, with its Carousel and live entertainment, to waterfront clam bars, diner, cheese emporium, and tea shop, and of course more formal fine dining with top chefs and local food.
Day Trips might include the quaint Orient Village, Sag Harbour, Orient Ferry roundtrip, the ‘Peconic Star’ to Block Island, Nature Conservancy's Mashomeck Preserves, Audobon Society’s birding and Town’s trails and woods, walk on the Shelter Island Ferry and stroll among the gingerbread houses and restaurants of the ‘Heights’.
Greenport village is in the heart of the award winning North Shore Wine Country, with tasting rooms and live entertainment.
Green Farm Stands all the time and Saturday morning tag sales and flea markets.
All surrounded by the sea.
“Rose Cottage” is beautifully furnished and styled by its owner, the former decorating editor of a national magazine, with an open floor plan, spacious rooms, gourmet kitchen: very light, and very airy.
A two story Cape, two bedrooms (one queen, one double) and full bath upstairs, main floor master bedroom/front parlor with queen sofa couch and full bath (sleeps 4) kitchen dining room with half bath, large sun filled living room, couch sized reading bay window, and fireplace for cozy fall and winter evenings, “Rose Cottage” is surrounded by beautiful gardens, ideal for outdoor entertainment, fountains, mini ponds, and a pergola.
Other amenities include washer/dryer, dishwasher, central air and heat, fireplace, cable TVs, internet access, personal chef available for shopping, cooking, small dinner parties, lunches, picnics.

So cute so much charm and amazing location to walk in greenport … and close to marina !! Loved the rose cottage

The neighborhood setting and house were lovely ... Clearly, this property has potential, however there were cleanliness issues with this home. We were delighted upon first entering ... but we quickly noticed there were ants in the kitchen mostly because earlier occupants had put soiled dishes and cooking utensils back into the cabinets. For example, we had to wash dishes and cooking utensils prior to using them. Soiled pans were in the oven and the Krups coffee maker filter was filled with used grinds and the glass carafe/pot was filled with old coffee. The linens - sheets and towels - were not the freshest so we were pleased that there was a high efficiency washer/dryer to wash our linens which immediately were fresher and provided a more relaxed feeling. In brief, the property could use a deep cleaning and more regular maintenance to bring it up to par thereby providing a more enjoyable atmosphere and holiday.

I surprised my sister with a getaway to this lovely cottage for her birthday. It's perfect for two people, or even two couples, and was homey and comfortable. And the owner, Christine, couldn't have been cuter. All in all a fantastic stay!

My wife, Roseanne Critelli, just authored 2 children’s books and she had readings in Bridgehampton. Nonetheless we decided to stay in Greenport because of the Village and restaurants. Loved this place and it was so close to everything. Will definitely come again.

I recently stayed at the Rose Cottage. We enjoyed our short stay. I do concur with previous reviews that the house looks like a museum and we were afraid to damage relics and did not find space to set down our own stuff, like a tooth brush or a wet towel. The host was very gracious in providing a chilled bottle of prosecco (super nice on a hot/humid evening).

We had an amazing time at the rose cottage! It’s a beautiful spot for a weekend getaway. There’s nothing like being able to walk to and home from the main hub of greenport. The cottage is beautiful and quaint with gorgeous gardens in the backyard. Overall a wonderful experience, thank you Christine!

We had a great stay at the rose cottage. Perfect location, walking distance to town and quiet street. The house had everything we needed, comfortably slept 4 adults. The house could definitely be cleaner though, it did not seem like it was professionally cleaned. We needed to wipe the shower and vacuum a bit when we arrived. Other than that it was perfect.

A group of friends (early 40s) stayed here for a wedding weekend, and it was lovely. Great layout and perfect proximity to town, we walked whenever we were doing something in Greenport. The house has a lot of charm (themed decorative elements throughout) and the owner was responsive to my messages. Recommended!

Wonderfully located on a quiet street just a short walk from town, this home provided a perfect space for 4 women to get away for the weekend! Check-in process was a breeze and the fresh flowers in multiple rooms and prosecco were a nice touch!

The cottage was charming. Maybe it’s just our taste, but its contents & decor was a bit overwhelming. We were provided with all we needed…sheets and towels, clean and crisp. However the house seemed to contain many artifacts….more like it was a museum. The garden was overgrown and was not tended. It needs serious landscaping and maintenance.

I came to this property for a girls trip and we could not have enjoyed our stay more! The host had set up an ambiance setting playlist playing when we first walked into the home. We LOVED it and didn’t listen to anything else all weekend.
The pictures of the property do not do it justice - the decor is impeccable, the garden is stunning, and the bedrooms were clean, comfortable and perfect.
We spent more time in the house than we planned to because the atmosphere was so calm, inviting and relaxing! We hope to come back!!

My husband and I had a great time in this adorable cottage. It was spotlessly clean with all the amenities we needed. It was definitely walkable to town though a few blocks out. It's just a few doors down from the marina. The house was uniquely decorated with something new to look at each time you turned around The backyard was awesome also. Bubbling fountains and beautiful flowers to enjoy. We had a great time and would love to return. Thanks

This is a very charming Victoria cottage. The hostess Christine is very generous and we were welcomed with soft music playing and a bottle of Prosecco. The appliances are up to date and the bed and bath linens were nice quality. Great access to the quaint little town and good restaurants

Great Location & Inviting Summer Home 🌅
My fiance and I had a great 4th of July weekend getaway. We love Greenport and hope to stay at the Rose Cottage again. This house is in the best spot.... It's close to KontoKosta Vineyard and the downtown area, yet far away enough from everything to feel private and safe. Christine was a wonderful host and we had fun in her home. It was inviting and full of joy.

Lovely Cottage and Garden
My daughters and I found Rose Cottage to be a perfect setting for our birthday celebration. We ate breakfast in the lovely garden with the sounds of water and birds. The walk to the village was perfect. We also had a day of sailing with East End Charters. So much to enjoy and loved spending time in the homey, beautifully decorated cottage. Would have loved to stay longer!

Wonderful place with great amenities
We booked the Rose Cottage as a place to stay as wedding guests for a wedding on Shelter Island. I've never been in Greenport before, but after our trip I would gladly visit again. Checkin was simple, and the property was well maintained with plenty of areas to sit and admire the garden! Everything was clean and well maintained. We had a great time.

Cute cottage & garden
The house was very cute- lots of small things that made it feel like home. The garden is its best feature, with great places to enjoy the sunshine. Close walk to downtown Greenport made this ideal. Communication with the property manager was consistent and good. Overall enjoyed our stay a lot!
