This stay met all of our needs. The pool was the best part, and it was well kept and treated. It was easy to access and the beach was a short walk. The only small downside was A/C was only in the main bedroom. Otherwise, I recommend staying at this place.

Nice property just outside of Uvita. Real quiet place. Nice pool. Close to the beach. Nice beach with waves. Natalia (the hostess) was real nice and quick to reply to our requests. We have seen many birds, parrots, toucans and monkeys. The caretaker was very helpful. The house is big and have lots of spaces for 8 persons. I recommend that rental.
One thing maybe to upgrade: a fan over the patio would be a nice add.
We had a blast there !

Natalia was an excellent host and the home was perfect! We saw 2 whales from the beach on the first morning and the views are incredible. This is a great home for a family vacation.

We had a wonderful time in Uvita. This property is beautiful, clean and perfectly situated. We enjoyed exploring the beach which was a 5 min. walk from the property. There was a great surf beach near by.
The house was super comfortable, we used the the kitchen often as it was very well equipped, we lounged around the pool and watched the lightning storms from the hammock. Natalia was quick to respond to our every question.
Thanks for a wonderful stay and we plan to return soon. Pura Vida!!

The home, location were perfect and we couldn’t have been more pleased. The house was very clean and spacious with a nice pool. The property was was beautiful and steps from the beach. The owner Natalia was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. She met us there on arrival, gave us a tour of the home and property.. This was our third time visiting Uvita, this was the nicest home/property we’ve stayed at and we’ll definitely stay here again.

Casa Luna is perfectly located on a wonderful beachfront property just south of the town of Uvita. Far enough to be off the beaten track and therefore quiet and secure. Easy access to the ocean, rural setting, Macaws come to a tree on or near the property daily. and more. It's a large house with plenty of space and everything you need. Only the master bedroom has AC, which we knew ahead of time. That said, if you're not accustomed to tropical heat and humidity you will want AC. We would definitely stay again, especially at a time of year with more moderate temperatures.

LOVE Natalia's home and loved HER even more. Easy to work and communicate with. The home was beautiful and right in front of the beach 5 minutes walk away. Most of the time it was a private beach so even more fun to just relax and explore. Had an excellent experience overall!

The birds, howler monkeys in the tree right by the house, the quiet beautiful beach right in front. What more could anyone ask for? OK, I should add that the house is very nice too!

This was my second time staying at this location. I brought my wife, our twelve year old daughter, 10 month old son, my mother and a couple friends. Everybody had an absolutely amazing time. The house is wonderful and sits on a lush and somewhat secluded jungle paradise. Pretty epic beaches within walking distance. We saw all kinds of wildlife, had capuchin and howler monkeys in the back yard, toucans sitting on our deck railing and really felt emerged in the jungle. We utilized the kitchen and cooked some fantastic meals, and there are a couple restaurants within walking distance; I think just open for lunch. Dave and Natalia are exceptional hosts and live nearby if you need anything. Unfortunately on the first night we had an issue when a grazing cow stepped on the water line and left us without water. It was fixed by 6:30am the following morning, which just showed how attentive our hosts were. There was another issue with the hot water heater and that was fixed the same day. Sometimes when you’re staying at a rental property things happen, and these guys took care of it. If you’re overly high maintenance, I would suggest not traveling anywhere ever. I would live at this property if I could, I miss it when I’m away and I will certainly be back. Thank you so much for everything Dave and Natalia!

This place is awful! Save your money and go to a hostel! There are so many things wrong with this place I don’t know where to start. I went back and looked at some old reviews and realized they are from 2015 and perhaps this place has been vacant since then. First of all there are bats in the house! They keep you awake at night and leave feces all over your personal belongings. There is no internet as promised even though the owner David had it “repaired”.
(“In regards to connectivity, once again, our lodging is located in a remote setting so common sense will dictate that high speed internet may be a luxury. Should you have inquired beforehand, we would have clarified that our bandwidth may not support high demand applications but it's good enough for email, checking Facebook or Instagram and even posting pictures of all the wonderful things our guests come to see and enjoy with us”-reply from David the owner ) we literally had to take our son to the nearest town to pay for internet so he could complete his school work. Sadly he missed out on our vacation for the most part. The fridge and freezer do not work and we had to keep dumping out food that kept spoiling during our miserable stay. The pots and pans Teflon is peeling off and not fit for cooking with. The oven doesn’t work either! We complained to the owner as well as vacationrentals/HomeAway to no avail. They do not guarantee your stay and they certainly won’t protect you in anyway (even with the health concern of bats!) Renter be aware!

We spent six months living in Costa Rica with our five children, ages 6 to 15. We lived at Casa Luna for the last two months of our stay. We only rented homes with 5-star traveler reviews and still it was by far the best property we rented. Our hosts, Dave and Natalia, were so obviously committed to making sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were friendly, approachable and responsive to our questions. We felt like we were being treated like family.
The home is on a large, beautiful piece of beach-front property with a private driveway and private access to the beach. The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees and flowering plants. There is an abundance of interesting wildlife - we saw scarlet macaws, parrots, basilisk lizards, monkeys, ibises, hawks, even an anteater!
The house itself is clean and well cared-for. The beds are comfortable. We fixed all of our meals in the kitchen and had everything we needed. The internet connection is good. There is a wonderful balcony with a hammock and some rocking chairs - we loved sitting out there with just the sounds of the waves and the jungle to keep us company.
The beach is just a short walk down the path. Sometimes people would walk by or we could see them in the distance, but we often had the entire beach to ourselves. At low tide, the gently-sloping beach is great for playing frisbee and the waves were usually just right for swimming and boogie boarding. (For surfing, our favorite beach was Playa Hermosa - about 10 minutes north.)
There are a couple of good grocery stores down the road as well as some fun waterfalls. Easy access to Dominical, Manuel Antonio, Hacienda Baru, etc.
We've been home three months, but we are dreaming of getting back here as soon as possible! When we do make it back , we'll definitely be staying here again.

We had a lovely stay in Casa Luna over the winter holiday season. We found it to be exceptionally comfortable as well as aesthetically pleasing.
We ate many of our meals in, the kitchen was well set up for cooking. We could gather at the large table or in the living room. During down time we wandered off to a hammock or comfy rocking chair on the covered porch to watch the sunset over the water or read a book. We liked the Costa Rican style rocking chairs on the porch so much we bought two at the airport on our way home and had them shipped home.
When we did go out, some favorite restaurants in the area were Sabor Espanol in Uvita, Porque No? up almost to Dominical, and the Jolly Roger for the wide assortment of chicken wings and amazing view.
Dave re-configured the internet at the beginning of our stay, after which the wifi worked consistently well. Both Dave and Natalia were responsive, helpful, and professional. Their desire to provide a top quality experience for their guests is obvious. We very much appreciated them.
We are a family of four with young adult / teen daughters, and were in Uvita learning how to surf. The large sand beaches and gentle break make it a perfect place to learn, and Bodhi Surf School provided an amazing learning experience. Between lessons, because surfing beat us up and tired us out so much, we spent a fair amount of time relaxing and recuperating at Casa Luna.
The house was everything we wanted. The only downsides were that the beaches in the area are all completely under water at high tide, and the early howler reverie. The howler monkeys wake at dawn and the whole place sounds like a scene from Jurassic Park. While it is a true jungle experience I never did learn how to sleep through it.
I would recommend Casa Luna without hesitation and would definitely return, if I find myself heading back to the area.

We loved the house, which was beautiful. The monkeys and bird life were memorable.
Dave and Natalia were so helpful with arranging tours and providing what our sons
needed for activities.

We stayed with friends in Casa Luna last summer, and loved it! The house is beautifully furnished, and has everything you need. The floorplan is open to take in beautiful views of the ocean and all the wonderful sounds of Costa Rica. We saw howler monkeys in the trees right down the driveway. Just steps away from a cool river and beach, you don't need to get in your car to access one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Natalia and Dave can give you the local scoop on all the places you won't want to miss from delicious pizza to fun zip line tours.

My Husband and I just returned from beautiful Costa Rica where we stayed near Uvita in Casa Luna. The home is a few steps from the most magnificent sprawling beach and situated in the lush and wild jungle. Casa luna is modern, spacious and open with wonderful views of the ocean, and since you're right in the jungle, sightings of toucans, morpho butterflies, iguanas and howler monkeys are very common. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the shower and soaking tub were great. Dave and Natalia were perfect hosts, and we had everything we needed on arrival. Kayaking and surfing right off the beach and close to ATV rentals, fine dining and tour facilities. Natalia really knows everything about all the activities and she was the best concierge for setting things up. I would choose Casa Luna over a big resort any day! So pristine and peaceful with everything relaxing, fun and adventurous close by. Magnificent sunsets too
