The house is beautiful as well as the grounds. Maple street is close to the ferry and Main Street, and is completely quiet and safe.
I love be the house because i can be cooking, reading, sitting in the garden or taking a bath while my daughter basically stays in the heated pool for hours at a time.
One of my favorite features is the outdoor shower.
I often rent houses to spend vacations, but I keep coming back to Maple street and it feels like home.
Thanks Hans and Rita for yet another perfect late summer/early fall.

Hans & Rita are both lovely people and Judy gave us a great welcome. If you want some downtime (away from New York) this is the place to be. It's far enough into LI and close to some beautiful scenery. Recommend Porters on the Lane. A must visit is the wine region to the north of the island. The house is great combining character with modern amenities with a lovely pool area that gets the sun almost all day.
Happy to recommend

My family recently stayed at this home and had a wonderful time. Hans and Rita were wonderful hosts and very attentive to making sure we had everything we needed. The home is perfectly laid out for entertaining and the pool was a big hit with the kids. The village and bay are an easy walk which made for some nice early morning and evening strolls through the idyllic neighborhood.
We are looking forward to coming back again.

My husband and I relocated to Long Island a few months ago (February 2017). While searching for a house to buy, we rented this beautiful, furnished home for 3 1/2 months. We had a wonderful time! We could not have possibly asked for a better place to live during the transition. The house, the location and the prompt, attentive and friendly service from the owners (Hans and Rita) were fantastic!
Let's start with the house. It looks exactly as pictured. It's so comfortable and cozy. The open kitchen is great for having conversations while cooking, eating, watching TV, or having a glass of vino while looking out upon the lovely back yard. Unfortunately, it was cold when we were there so we didn't get to enjoy getting in the pool, but I can say that the backyard is beautiful and there's plenty of privacy owing to the tall, thick trees that surround it.
Second, you can't possibly get a better location. It's quiet and close to everything. It's right between the dock and the Village strip which is where you will find the restaurants and shops. The water/dock is two short blocks south and the strip is a couple of short blocks north. It's about a 5-minute walk to the strip, so we could pop into Porter's or Avino's for dinner, or grab a breakfast sandwich at the Village Bistro, quite quickly, easily and spontaneously. We absolutely loved walking down to the water. It's just a quick walk - very relaxing and peaceful, especially at dawn or sunset. Because the house is directly across from a church, you get the experience of being on vacation in a lovely home, combined with the charm of small, village life.
Last, but not least, is the service from the owners. We had no problems whatsoever with the home, but we did contact them a couple of times and they responded quickly. One time, I accidentally locked myself out. I called Hans from the church across the street. He was there in less than 5 minutes. When we were having problems with the washing machine, they replaced it within just a couple of days. Other than that, we had no issues. We had dinner with Hans and Rita at The Bellport (my favorite restaurant in the village) on our last night. They are very good people. All in all, I highly recommend renting this house owing to it's beauty, comfort, location and owner responsiveness. Enjoy your vacation!

We recently stayed as a family of four at this charming, spacious and very well-appointed home. Everything is exactly as pictured if not better! The owner, Hans, clearly takes great care of this home and it shows in all the attention paid to details. Hans was the most gracious and helpful host who went above and beyond in helping to make our stay even more special. The location can't be beat and is truly walking distance both to the beautiful bay (ferry) and lovely town. I hesitate to review only because we don't the great secret to get out! This home is a gem and we look forward to returning.

My family of four thoroughly enjoyed this home over Columbus Day weekend. It was a great size for us, offering many peaceful nooks to relax, as well as great spaces to enjoy meals together. The house was really beautiful and full of light, had everything we needed, and was also convenient for walking into the village or down to the Bay. Our hosts, Hans and Rita, were extremely attentive and wanted to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. We hope we’ll have an opportunity to rent this property again, and highly recommend it!
