Host was super helpful!
Fantastic location and grounds. We had a great time hiking, star gazing, hanging out, and jumping off into the park. We did have heater trouble though. The host was immediately responsive, got repair people right on it, and kept following up with us to see to it we were taken care of. He’s a class act. We would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our visit. The surrounding terrain is great for hikes especially with two 4-year-olds.

Just as great the second time
This is our second stay at the property. It was fantastic before, and was fantastic again. The owner made a few upgrades over the year which were very much appreciated, namely the tiled patio area which helped to keep the house clean from sand and the markers on the property to tell you the different landmarks. We didn’t cook last time, but we did this time because we found many of the restaurants were closed probably due to Covid. The kitchen had everything that we needed, and then some.

Beautiful!
A magical place to spend time, we climbed rocks and explored the beautiful desert right outside the door without driving anywhere. We arrived at 10:30pm in the pitch dark and got to the house easily with the excellent directions. The house was spotless and so comfortable. We hope to return soon!

Majestic
My 8 year old says, "Super great but I got a lot of scratches from climbing rocks. It was really fun, we saw lizards and rabbits. When can we go back?"
I stayed at 100 Acres for 2 nights with my husband and 2 boys, ages 5 and 8. This desert escape is exactly what we needed. The property is secluded, yet easy to get to. It is extremely peaceful and the surrounding rocks are stunning and majestic. At night, the star gazing is out of this world, literally! We could see NEOWISE with the naked eye. We really enjoyed exploring!
The house is well appointed with comfortable beds, kitchen necessities and games for the kids. We are already looking at the calendar to go back!

Awesome stay at Joshua Tree Paradise
Our family of 6 loved our 2 night stay at this property. The kids had a blast exploring the land and climbing the huge mountains of boulders all over the property. Patio and fire pit were great for evening s’mores. The whole family fell asleep in the outdoor beds we set up under the stars both nights. Even though it is more of a double-wide type home, it was exceptionally clean and the showers were amazing. Highly recommend. Great place!

Excellent Location near Joshua Tree entrance.
This property is off the grid! If you’re looking for rest, relaxation with nature steps away, this is the place for you. Cool atmosphere with hikes onsite! The house is perfect with a retro themed decor and has exactly all the extras you need and I was glad to bring my pups with us. They loved it! Thanks Matthew for sharing your paradise with us!!

Great home for a family vacation
We have stayed here a few times before and it never disappoints, the home is spacious and comfortable to stay in, clean and furnished great for a family. Everything is well stocked and the kitchen is large enough and had all we needed to cook all our meals there for 5 people.
Photos do not do the location justice and it is such an amazing property and the patio area is great to hang out and the kids get to explore and have a lot of fun with that. The adults also loved all the walking we could do without having to drive anywhere.
The location is great for the park and other local attractions and there are large supermarkets within driving distance.
I would highly recommend this house for a family holiday, the property is great fun for all to get out and exercise and enjoy the views and the stars at night and the house is great for hanging out and spending some time together without work or school!. We had a very relaxing time and it was very sad to leave

Incredible property
Just a very special place with so much to explore! Highly recommend for anyone that wants to be active on the property site. It’s like having your own park to yourself. I’ve been twice now with two different groups and both have been floored with the property. Will be back again!

Wow! Stunning views all the way Around
The large windows throughout brought in brilliant light. The master bed was heavenly! (could you please advise where we can purchase that mattress?) Coyote howls at night, bunnies scampering about while we went boulder hopping . A most memorable trip that soothed our souls. Thank you for opening your place to us. We hope it comes back to you a thousand times over. Looking forward to booking again soon .

Impressive!!
For the second time- MAGICAL!!!
We love this property so much, we can't recommend it enough!
There was a full moon and we hiked down the wash at night.
The boulders surrounding the property are majestic.
You feel like you are on your own in the middle of the desert, but centrally located with the park 5 min drive and The Saloon nearby for food and drink (also music on Fri & Sat nites), if you can pull yourself away from this Paradise!!

Magical!
This was my 9th time staying at JTP. I come back year after year and sometimes twice a year. Such an AMAZING place! It's truly spectacular, magical and very spiritual. It's a very calming place where one can truly find themselves. Matthew (the owner) and his team (Mark and Diane) are absolutely fantastic. They are super sweet, great people who really want you to enjoy your stay. This is my go to place to get away from it all. It's really one of a kind and beautiful beyond words.
Thank you Matthew, Diane and Mark. You guys are awesome!
I'll be back soon. Take care guys!

A dream and perfect plot of land, however poorly maintained.
The location of JTP is unsurpassed. Impressive, expansive and privacy over defined. Just cannot match the seclusion anywhere else. The property and house can be better maintained. Spend a couple hours cleaning counters and floors of previous tenants crumbs and grime as we check in. Extensive rat/mouse poo EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! 3 DEAD MICE IN THE SOAK TUB!!!! Who cleaned and prepped this place? Stayed here 6 months prior, and back again trash is piling up to the NW of the property where the "so called Gucci photo shoots go down" are pretty trashy. Mouse crap and trash all over. Broom? Maintenance? Care? For such a magical, historic part of land.... and it is!!! Poorly maintained and UN-kept, ESPECIALLY for the price. Shame. I am very conservative when it comes to nature and the potential of this property is unheard of. Its sad to see such a great opportunity wasted. One of a kind JT property with epic privacy, comfort and views for days is in need of some serious TLC. Clean it up and organize. Huge potential is there. Overall, stay was horrible especially day 2 when i go to wash out the soaking tub and there is 3 dead rats melted stuck to the bottom of the steel tub. Not cleaning that! Drove to Walmart and got a plastic soaking tub. Highly recommend ONLY IF, owner takes pride in his place and sets a standard.

One of a kind experience at this desert ranch-like setting. Wildlife and amazing landscape galore!

Like Staying in the National Park
We gave Joshua Tree Paradise 5 stars because of the remarkable setting. Prior to discovering this place, we'd stay in town and try to spend as much time as possible in the National Park (lots of driving!). Now we spend almost all our time out among the boulders, either in the park or at JTP, and avoid the town at all costs (very little driving!). The wildlife, in particular, is remarkable. Sit around the place from first light until dark and watch the desert critters wander by. And so peaceful, private.
The house itself is not as impressive as the setting, but it's clean, and everything works as advertised. We considered 4 stars to account for the house but then realized that we don't really care because all we need is a functional base camp in this wonderland of rocks. The house works fine in this regard.

My wife and I, along with our Airedale, had a wonderful time. This is a unique place. It's completely private located on 100 acres of beautiful rocks and rock formations. Although it is very private, we didn't feel isolated or unsafe. You could see other houses in the distance, and you are close to town and a good medical facility.
We had a fire each night in the fire pit in the backyard. It was the highlight for me. Also enjoyed seeing the incredible display of stars at night. Beautiful. And I loved hiking the area with our dog..she loved it!
We hope to return soon.
P.S. the owner, Matthew, was very responsive. He handled everything extremely well.

I have been coming to JTP for over 4 years now and this was my 8th time staying at Matthews place. It’s the one and only place that I can literally get away from it all. I have never in my life heard such peace and quiet. It’s so quiet and calm that you can literally hear a pin drop. I have never seen such natural beauty. Yes, it’s the desert, but it’s full of life and beautiful in its own light. I have never seen the night sky so lit up with stars and never have I ever seen as many shooting stars as I have here. All visible with the naked eye. This place is spectacular, and the land is truly magical. There is something very calming and peaceful about this place that one would only understand if you experience it. There are tons of rentals available in Joshua Tree and yes there are some beautiful modern looking new homes that you can rent but, in my opinion, none compare to Matthews place. The house is a double wide which some may frown upon, but it is totally comfortable, highly functional and Matthew does a fantastic job of providing you with everything one would need. He even provides you with laundry detergent pods to do a few loads of laundry if need be. The land is the reason one should/would come to JTP. In all the times I’ve come I had never met Matthew or any of the caretakers but this time I was fortunate and lucky enough to meet them all. Matthew the owner is a Hollywood movie director and is a truly nice guy who wants nothing more than for you to enjoy your time at his place. Incredibly talented, really cool and super easy to work with. He has an absolute passion for his land and I totally get it as I too share his passion for his place. It’s phenomenal! Diane who is one of the caretakers cleans the house and gets things ready for your visit. She does and has always done a fantastic job and is a total sweetheart. Mark is also one of the caretakers that lives locally and is always willing, able, and available to help should anything come up. He made sure to let me know not to hesitate to call him should I need anything, a great guy. I can talk about this place for hours. I love it! It’s surreal and stunningly beautiful. Do yourselves a favor and experience Matthews place. It’s a visit you wont regret. Thank you Matthew for sharing your place with me. It was such a pleasure getting to meet you and your team. You’re amazing and I will continue to come back year after year.

The location is remote, but still close to town and JT Park this is great in itself. The property is large complete with hiking trails. The house is clean and has room for six. The main source of power is solar and everything works just like a house on the grid, but it has a backup generator just in case, nice setup. Will be returning. Great host!
