Our stay at Twisted Oaks was wonderful!! We love the house! It was extremely clean and comfortable. The beach is a block away. We built many memories and hope to return next summer.

We had the most marvelous time at Twisted Oaks. It is an original house in Grayton, gracefully restored to maintain the character, comfortable, and full of interesting nooks and porches. This has become our favorite home in Grayton and we've come for over 25 years. The owner was very prompt if we had any questions. Love it!

We LOVE Twisted Oaks!! From the plank swing in the backyard to hanging out on the porches, we just enjoyed being together where everything has been thought out for you: great kitchen, many get-together areas, beautiful property; we hope we can return to Grayton Beach for our tenth year--and to Twisted Oaks!

This was a beautiful, well appointed home that I would stay in again. Recommend highly.

Twisted Oaks was so perfect for our family. The granddaughter adored the tree swing in the backyard, under the "twisted oaks." The beach is a short walk; the kitchen is fabulous; the porches are THE BEST--where we spent "home" time, mostly, for Memorial Day week. Cannot say enough positive. Clean.

We had our family down for a beach wedding and we’re more than pleased with the property. It was clean and charming and the back yard was perfect for our picnic brunch and photos. Highly recommend!

Property is very nostalgic of the homes that once graced the coastline of Florida. Charming and immaculately clean. We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in the the future! The children especially enjoyed the back porch and rope swing that hangs from one of the twisted oaks in the back yard. The house is two blocks from beach and our extended families also stayed close by . People in the area are very courteous and there are some great restaurants. Loved visiting near by “Watercolor” and “Seaside” and hanging out in shops at Grayton! Thank you for the pleasure of staying in this historic house!

The house is very lovely in beauty, size and location with a great backyard for corn hole and games and also a cute cottage for more guests to stay. Very few steps to the soft white sand beach and Western Lake. The owners were so good at communicating with me. We are only home a day and have to ask, is it too soon to be nostalgic? My family hopes we can make this a tradition.

This property is an easy walk to beach (or bike ride). Community is top notch. Western lake is perfect alternative for red flag days. Porches and back yard were perfect for time off beach. Plenty of comfortable beds and bathrooms. Owner is exceptional with communication and accommodating requests. We had the cottage too and used it for quiet space/ overflow.

Perfect Vacation
The house is so cute and clean. It is in the best location to easily enjoy the beach and restaurants. The owners are responsive and friendly. Make sure you allow ample time for check out as there is a lot of bed linens to wash. We loved our visit!

Perfect paradise!
Wow! Cannot say enough about our week stay! The space was perfect for our family vacation! The two screened porches were such a bonus along with the backyard to hang out. Very comfortable and clean. We hope to book this lovely home every year to spend time with loved ones! Quite comfortable, very homey and very Old Grayton vibe!

Beautiful home for family beach vacation
We stayed at Twisted Oaks with our two young children (ages 5 and 15 months), my sister and brother-in-law and their children (ages 7, 4, and 20 months), and my parents. The home was so nicely appointed with all the amenities we needed. Beds were comfortable, wifi was fast, and the kitchen was well equipped. We absolutely loved the screened porches, ceiling fans, and backyard lights - we spent most of our time on the porches, taking in the ambiance. The cottage was also perfect for those of us who needed to do some work while on vacation. And the home was an easy walk to the beach! We hope to return someday!

Childhood memories!
This house was built by my grandparents in the 1930s. My sister, brothers and I have great memories of time spent there before it was sold. We were finally able to find a weekend to enjoy time together and reminisce.
The Gentrys have done a beautiful job of restoring and updating the house. I loved the bright, comfortable, rustic decor!
The house was very clean and well kept. They went above and beyond when providing the daily essentials, especially in the kitchen.
We enjoyed time spent on the two porches. The only downside was the amount of traffic that continually passed by the house. Grayton Beach is a popular place.
We had a great time and hope to make this an annual tradition!

Great location! Great house! Great communication!
House was perfect for our needs (two families). It not only lived up to the photos, but I think it exceeded our expectations from the photos. Very well thought out space, great decor and impressive layout. Porches were enjoyable for relaxing, as was the living room. Owner even sent a note to check in on us the day we arrived to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Short walk or bike ride to the beach. Highly recommend this place!

We definitely loved Twisted Oaks!
The property was wonderful! The home was perfect for my family, it was cozy and comfortable with all the necessities available to make a relaxing vacation. We especially loved the screened in porch’s for dinking coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. The beach was outstanding and the Gulf was so blue and clean. We will definitely look to stay at Twisted Oaks again in the future!

Great family home for a relaxing beach getaway!
The house is charming with lots of character. Accommodates 9 people nicely without renting the cottage in the backyard. The screened in porches are fabulous and the extra touches like the backyard swing, BBQ pit and rolling beach wagon are lagniappe. A short walk to the beach.

Cozy cottage stay in Grayton - loved it!
We loved the charming authentic Grayton feel. In the midst of the all the historic Grayton cottages being torn down, we hope this gem remains. It's clean and functional but with loads of character. Terrific art with lots of good history of the house and surroundings. We would recommend it for anyone wantint that true Grayton experience.

Restful and relaxing
What a blessing it was for us to be able to enjoy a week at this peaceful place. We had stayed in this great house several years ago and lost the contact. It was fun for our kids to enjoy and remember things they had done years ago. Our older daughter, recently married, loved being able to show her new husband special places from her childhood. Thanks again for this restful vacation!

Home, Sweet Home!
It is Wednesday after my return from Twisted Oaks in Grayton Beach, and I am suffering post-vacation blues longing for my home, sweet home at the beach. Twisted Oaks is a wonderful place to stay with two delightful screened porches, a nice yard, a well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. I have stayed at the house on at least four occasions, and every time I have felt like I was at home. The owners maintain the property extremely well. Everything is spotless. In addition, the owners are great to work with. While not on the beach, it is only two blocks from the beach and walking distance to many restaurants and bars. There is a bike rack, grill, and fenced-in yard. If anyone is looking for a comfortable home in a historic area of Florida, this is it. I cannot wait to go "home" again.

Great Stay at Twisted Oaks!
Five women travelers arrived to this beautiful house only two blocks from the beach, bars, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the two lovely screened porches, a cozy living room and a spectacularly designed and outfitted kitchen. There were plenty of comfy bedrooms with quality linens. This was a perfect get away for the five of us. It's only a short drive to a large grocery store and other areas where restaurants and shopping were plentiful. The beach is beautiful with white, sugary sand. The drive from the airport is not very attractive with lots of strip malls and chain hotels. But, once you get to Grayton Beach you are welcomed to an old fashioned Florida beach town. I would highly recommend Grayton Beach and Twisted Oaks. We'll be back!

So Relaxing at Twisted Oaks
Absolutely loved making Twisted Oaks our home for a week........the house itself was adorable, quaint, & comfortable....the 2 large screened porches were amazingly comfortable and a favorite among all of us! Even when we had an afternoon of rain, we could still enjoy playing games on the porch! Two families for a total of 4 adults and 2 kids enjoyed our bedroom accommodations with our own bathrooms as well with plenty of room! The kitchen and dining area were fun and also well stocked so all we had to do was supply the food! Living area was roomy and comfortable, too! Backyard was great for grilling out....had a great bike rack! The outdoor shower was the first stop after a day at the beach! Can't say enough great things about Twisted Oaks! :)
Grayton Beach is an awesome beach town that is beautiful and quiet along with the beautiful beach! We enjoyed the beach almost daily as well as charter fishing which leaves right from the beach!
The owners were absolutely great as well which is a definite plus to our stay! On our next trip to Florida, Twisted Oaks is where we will want to stay!

Can't Wait to Return!
This is a terrific find. Three generations of our family were universally delighted with the accommodations. Lots of space and lots of beds. We all loved the funky, beachy atmosphere of the house. The beach was a very short walk and WOW, the beach was gorgeous. We had a great cook-out in the spacious yard and also enjoyed dining on the large screened-in porch. There is plenty of cookware and tableware for a good-sized crowd. Also, fun places to eat/drink (and shop if that's your thing) are within walking distance, bike-riding distance, or a short hop in the car. We all rented bikes at the General Store and really enjoyed biking to breakfast and lunch at nearby beach towns. The owners are lovely with work with; the rental couldn't have gone more smoothly. My California relatives were bedazzled by Grayton Beach and I was a hero for finding such a perfect house.

Highly Recommend This Charming Beach House
We’ve stayed at Twisted Oaks four years in a row and love it more each time. It has the warm, friendly atmosphere of a home that is lovingly cared for and used frequently by its owners. Eclectic harmony and casual comfort rule here. And the beds are soooooo comfortable! The owners generously provide fluffy towels, cotton sheets and paper products to get you through the week. But our favorite amenities are the two large screened porches with comfortable seating and a table where we eat all of our meals al fresco, looking out at the yard shaded by (what else?) elegant twisted oaks.
The walk to the beach along village streets is short and pleasant. The house is just far enough away from the popular Red Bar (live music most nights) not to be subject to late-night noise. There are lots of restaurants a short drive or bike ride away (paved bike trail!). Grayton State Park is adjacent to the public beach, so you can get away from everyone else if you want to by walking just a few more steps. Between the public beach and the park beach, there’s a brackish shallow pond that’s a favorite spot for children to play. We could go on and on about what makes this house and this village such special places.

Love this House!
My family has stayed here many times. Great house for two families with kids or three with the "little" house. We love the screen porches and the relaxed, laid back decor. Very peaceful vibe watching the world go by in Grayton Beach. All our summer vacations are modeled after our experiences here. Especially love the outdoor shower - So wonderful after a day on the beach, with the trees above you, and some great music on the ipod. The beach is so close by and Western Lake is a beautiful place to kayak or Yolo board. Many great things to do in the area but you'll have a hard time pulling yourself away. Try the guest house - it is truly a retreat by itself.

Twisted Oaks is relaxed southern charm in Old Grayton Beach
Grayton Beach has always been a special place to our family, and Twisted Oaks is where we always stay. This house (and the smaller guest house), offer the kind of relaxed comfort that one would expect given its location at the very heart of Old Grayton.
When asked to describe what I like most about this house, I reflect back to my best times there, which always seem to involve time spent in the spacious & inviting back yard. Whether playing games of bocce or baggo, grilling local fresh catch, or just enjoying a cool adult beverage with friends and family on one of the two screened porches, these times mean so much more than so many other “hotel vacations” we have taken. Also, taking a refreshing outdoor shower, in the rustic (but heated!) back yard shower, after coming back from the beach is an experience not to be missed!
With state parks surrounding Grayton, it is truly an oasis of tranquility, and since Twisted Oaks is only one short block from the sugary, blindingly white & pristine beach, and with the famous Red Bar right around the corner for great food (breakfast, lunch or dinner) & entertainment, there is virtually no reason to get in your car once you have settled in.
In addition to loving the beach itself at Grayton, we also enjoy biking to Water Color & Seaside, surf fishing, boating and sea kayaking in Western Lake (part of Grayton State Park).
The house itself shows the care the owners have obviously taken in their efforts to restore this classic old Florida vacation house into an updated, but still warm, treasure with all of the modern and appreciated creature comforts that one expects in a quality vacation rental home.
