About this house rental
“Casa Laura was the perfect secluded getaway spot…the pool is great, and the ocean is incredible.” - Tucker, ‘20
Welcome to Casa Laura, our fabulous 6-bedroom beach-front home in Punta Pescadero. The stunning Sea of Cortez, the spectacular weather, the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets day after day - and the friendly and welcoming local people - are just a few of the reasons you will fall in love with this beautiful part of southern Baja.
“My wife and I found ourselves lost in the peacefulness of the views, the ocean, the beach, the pool, the place. It’s so what Mexico used to be - quiet, relaxing and away from the hustle of what Cabo has become.” - Mark G., 2022
Casa Laura is located in the Punta Pescadero neighborhood community, 25 minutes south of Los Barriles and 1-½ hours north of Cabo This is a beautiful part of the East Cape all the way at the tip of Baja!
Enter into the house through a classic Spanish-style courtyard, which incidentally has plenty of room for ATV parking! The first floor’s gracious open floorplan is filled with windows, and the entire space opens out to an amazing ocean view of the Sea of Cortez.
A welcoming entertainment area blends seamlessly with an elegant dining table that seats 10 and catches every ocean breeze. The huge gourmet kitchen, with a cleverly designed window that actually opens to access the poolside bar seating, also boasts a huge separate butler’s pantry with its own full-size freezer – so you can easily store your “catch of the day”! Off the kitchen is an additional “grande” outdoor kitchen with its own grill, sink, frig and “muy mucho” counter space!
The entire experience is one of indoor/outdoor ease. Chaise lounges are liberally placed to promote relaxation at every turn! Dip into the pool or jacuzzi, grab a drink at the outdoor bar, or head down the stairs to the beach right from the pool’s patio. You can literally paddleboard, kayak, or snorkel right in front of the house - all of the equipment is provided on site! Afterwards soak up the sun with some cornhole or take a siesta in the perfectly placed privacy of the hammock!
The views were spectacular (we saw whales) and the ocean access was very easy. We took kayaks and standup paddle boards right out in front of the house. And there were wonderful coves for snorkeling only a five minute stroll down the beach. - Amy, ’20

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Laura! The setting was quiet and away from the craziness but close enough to run into town when we needed. Carlos was great as well and was always around if we needed anything. The dinner his wife prepared our first night was quite the Mexican welcome! Hope to make it back in the me near future.

We had a wonderful time! From the delicious welcome feast provided by Nora and Carlos to check out we felt welcome and well cared for. Nora also cooked a magnificent birthday celebration meal complete with delicious cake to celebrate the multiple family birthdays we had while away. People enjoyed ATV riding, deep sea fishing and snorkeling in addition to playing in the pool and on the beach. It was a relaxing time for everyone and we would definitely consider Casa Laura in the future.
Thank you so much.

First of all Carlos is an amazing caretaker and his wife Nora is a phenomenal cook! We felt so welcomed and every interaction I had with them was super positive. The house is very nice and well appointed for our group of 8 old friends who were celebrating my retirement. We enjoyed walking to the Hotel/Bar a few nights as well as a ride into Los Barrilles for drinks and absorbing the local feel and flavor of Mexico. Great pool and hot tub! We used the owners suggested shuttle driver from the airport and had excellent service.

Seasonal winds hindered beach activity great for families that want to be close and enjoy family life

An amazing home with spectacular views. Loved that the rooms all looked out over the water. We enjoyed seeing whales and pelicans and walking on the beach.
Carlos was so kind and friendly, checking in on us and helping as needed. His wife, Nora made us fantastic dinners and even baked a birthday cake for a family celebration. They are wonderful!
Casa Laura is definitely a place to get away from it all!! We hope to come back again one day.

We couldn't have asked for a better place for our family to gather for Christmas. The house had everything we needed for 4 children and 9 adults. Rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen and dining room was a great place to gather for meals. The living room cozy for chats. The pool and hot tube were a big hit with all of us. Being able to walk to the beach and kayak, paddle board or just look for shells was awesome.
We can't say enough good things about Carlos and Nora. Carlos came every morning to see if we needed anything. The welcome meal Nora cooked was excellent. We also ordered another meal with dessert. Probably one of the best Mexican meals we have ever had. Thank you, Nora and Carlos for taking such good care of us. Communication with Laura after we booked and before we arrived was very good. She answered all our questions promptly and provided all the information we needed for our stay. We would definitely consider staying there again if we had the chance.

Family Spring Break
The house and property are fantastic and the house managers are amazing. The kids and adults loved the pool and views from the house. We ate at the house every night and had Nora do breakfast for us every morning. Carlos is very helpful and Nora's food is amazing.

Location of house
The house was beautiful but it was too isolated. Grocery store was 50 minutes away on a very rough dirt road. The only restaurant nearby was a hotel so no eating choices. Pool should of been heated before we got there. Unless you want to be all by yourself I wouldn't rent this property. The guidebook said restaurants were near by they would 50 minutes away and you did not want to drive the road at night.

Don't Pass on This House!
We have stayed at a number of properties in Punta Pescadero and Casa Laura has been our best experience to date. Beautiful house and location, Laura was easy to communicate with and promptly answered any and all questions. There is also an app provided that has all the information needed regarding the local area and the house itself. Carlos and Nora, the caretakers, were very helpful and thoughtful in making our stay a true vacation. Nora even made a birthday cake for one of our party members. We are already looking at dates for next year. There really isn't a single thing that was a detraction, or distraction, from our trip.

Fantastic Baja Getaway!
My friends and I (a group of 12 adults and 3 children) just spent 8 amazing nights at Casa Laura and it was everything we could have asked for! Laura was incredibly accommodating with all of our questions and unique requests beforehand. We had 3 toddlers with us, and Laura even went out of her way to purchase a high chair before we arrived. The housekeeper Carlos and his wife Nora were really friendly and attentive during our entire stay.
The location of the house itself was stellar, situated a bit off the beaten path (but exactly what we were looking for), with beautiful, empty beaches just in front of the property.
We were able to spot tons of pelicans and even whales from the hot tub!!
All in all, Casa Laura was better than we could expected. With a great location, a beautiful property, amazing amenities (with the bonus of getting to use the Suburban and Blazer to run errands and go on day trips was a highlight!); and most importantly wonderful hosts I'd highly recommend this property to anyone. We'll definitely be back!

Girls just wanna have fun
This trip for me was a girls trip with 10 other beautiful women and what we experienced was comfort, activity, sun, ATV’s, pickle ball lessons, fun, swimming, lounging, exercising, food to make your mouth water, drinks, laughter and bonding oh and a dance party....but what made this trip special was the love and energy that the owners do to make sure you have the best experience in their lil piece of heaven. There are many rental options out there for you to choose from however, if you wish to have above and beyond customer service and great communication for your time away choose this one. Laura and Steve take pride and joy in you having a great time and that we did! You can either stay at this slice of heaven your entire trip and enjoy the local food and pool, beach or Laura will coordinate trips and adventures to the local sites. By far one experience I will never forget. Thanks to Laura and Steve for sharing their love and home with others! We will be back for sure. ❤️

Most Beautiful Home in Punta Pescadero
Everything about this home is amazing. There is not a single room in this house that is not nice or doesn't have a good view of the ocean. For the price, it is super affordable, but definitely worth so much more. If you fill the house to max capacity, it's only about $60/person. I can guarantee you won't find another home that is as gorgeous and with as many amenities as this house for a similar price. Laura stocks the outside bar fridge with a complimentary case of beer upon your arrival. She also has kayaks, snorkeling gear, cornhole, an infinity pool, and a hot tub that heats up right away. On top of all this, the caretaker of the house, Carlos and his wife, are outstanding! They are there for you 24/7 and will clean up your rooms any day you need them to.
My husband and I got married nearby and had all of our close family members stay at this house and every single one of them raved about it. I had some family members actually go to a resort in Cabo for a few days after the wedding before flying back home and they all said that Laura's house was so much nicer. If you want to vacation away from a crowd of people and basically have a beach to yourself, Casa Laura is definitely the place for you. Laura is one of the kindest people I've met and I am definitely telling everyone I know about her house if they ever mention wanting to vacation in Mexico. 100% so much better than staying at a hotel!

Amazing Views and great amenities provided
I stayed here with family for my daughter's wedding. This home provided everything you would want on a vacation getaway. The master bedroom was huge and the pool rivaled any pool that you would see at 5 star resort but without having to dealing with strangers. The beach is accessible by the adjacent stairs and you're just steps away from the ocean. The views were amazing and they offered a plethora of watersport amenities (kayaks, snorkels, paddleboards). If you're in need of a relaxing getaway with a private beach I would highly recommend it.

Perfect vacation spot
Casa Laura is a dream house. It was a perfect spot for our 8 adults and 4 kids. Carlos is an amazing caretaker and Nora's food is delicious!
On the first evening, we arrived to a warm meal and a case of cold beer! Everything we needed was at our finger tips - from a fully stocked kitchen and first aid kits to ocean toys and beach towels. Laura, Steve, Carlos, and Nora made it so easy to settle in, relax, and enjoy the bounty of the East Cape.
Thank you, Laura and Steve, for sharing your beautiful house with us. We are so grateful and look forward to our next visit.

Two weeks with family over Christmas and New Year at Casa Laura
The house is palatial, comfortable, impeccably maintained inside and out, and very well equipped. The caretaker couple are friendly, helpful, always available and can provide very good prepared meals of different sorts. We particularly enjoyed the kinds of activities made possible by a house that sits just 150 feet from the sea: kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, free diving, swimming, fishing and long, unimpeded walks along the largely deserted beach. This place is above all tranquil and isolated, no night life or noise, other than waves on the shore. There is a small hotel about a 10 minute walk away for drinks or a meal, but we seldom ventured out and were satisfied with being together as a family in the evenings— reading, playing board games and dipping in the hot tub and infinity pool.

Fantastic Home for Friends and Family!
What a magical place! Casa Laura is nothing short of paradise. The house it large, beautiful, and full of amenities. It is just as pictured--clean and well-maintained. We were a party of 11 and never felt like we were in each other's way. Nora and Carlos are fabulous caretakers not only for the property but for the guests. You cannot go wrong with Nora's guacamole and chips! The owners, Laura and Steve, provided fabulous customer service as well. We experienced delicious food in the surrounding towns of El Cardinal and Los Barriles based on their recommendations. I highly recommend Casa Laura for a vacation home!

Amazing Beach Getaway!
We spent a week at Casa Laura with family and friends and it was one of the best vacations we've ever had! The house is close enough to town to enjoy restaurants and excursions, but far enough away that it feels like a true secluded Mexican getaway. We loved renting UTVs in Los Barriles and the freedom that gave us to explore the area, but the house also had everything we needed to enjoy our stay! The housekeeper, Nora, made some of the best dinners we had on the trip and her husband, Carlos, was super helpful in setting up everything we wanted to do. We miss waking up to the sunrise over the Sea of Cortez and can't wait to go back!

Amazing
This vacation rental was amazing! We had high expectations on arrival because of all the positive reviews and gorgeous pictures but...it was even better. The house is spacious and has everything you could possibly need for a week in paradise. We spent most of our time on the beach or at the pool area which includes an ocean front bar with water and the coolest old Corona beer cooler.
Carlos checked in on us everyday and took care of any minor detail or concern we had. (The washer leaked and he had it fixed within and hour!) The food provided by his wife Nora was some of the best food we had the whole week. Her tres leches cake was the best I have ever had.
We paddle boarded, snorkeled and kayaked in front of the house everyday. This area is off the beaten path in the most wonderful way. The roads are rough so I would suggest having a jeep or maybe renting side-by-sides for the week. It was a wonderful vacation and we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful "New Year". Vacation with family. Beautiful, comfortable home. Carlos and Nora took care of out every need, especially fabulous home cooked meals by Nora!

Absolutely amazing home in a simply stunning location!!
We truly had a spectacular week at Casa Laura. Our group of 17 had plenty of space in the well laid out house and the ample sitting areas overlooking the Sea of Cortez. The children spent virtually all day in the infinity pool, especially enjoying the hot tub to warm up. We got a lot of use from the paddle board and kayaks. Carlos and Nora, the local house managers, took good care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. The home owners, Laura and Steve, are very responsive and easy to work with. We looked forward to dinner each night, anticipating amazing food from Nora. We were never disappointed! We especially loved the homemade tortillas and guacamole. We look forward to another trip to this beautiful secluded part of the world!

Perfect home for your Baja vacation!
If you’re looking for a Baja destination that is far away from the crowds of the Cabo resorts yet still has all the amenities and luxurious touches you would want for a relaxing vacation, this is the place for you.
I spent a getaway weekend here with 5 friends and can’t wait to go back with my family. The home is beautifully and comfortably decorated, with no lack of attention to detail. Each bedroom is well appointed with comfortable and stylish décor, and has its own air conditioning unit that allows you to sleep and relax comfortably based on your own preference. The kitchen is large and well stocked with everything you would possibly need to prepare your own meals, although we took advantage of the authentic meals prepared by Nora, the house manager’s wife, which were delicious and provided great leftovers for lunch the next few days. (Tip: get extra chips and salsa, so good!)
As great as the interior is, the outdoors is where we spent most of our time. From the outdoor bar & dining table, to the lounge chairs with an awesome view of the ocean and incredible sunrises, to the infinity edge pool and hot tub, to the beach accessible via a direct access stairway, we never wanted to go inside. We could snorkel, stand-up paddleboard and kayak directly from the property, all with equipment already at the home. As an extra treat to ourselves, we took advantage of a local masseuse that was recommended by the property owner, and each had an awesome hour-long massage on the upper level patio to the soothing sounds of the ocean.
If you do want other dining & drinks options, the home is a short walk away from the Punta Pescadero hotel, where we had both a delicious breakfast and after dinner drinks, and a short easy drive to Las Terrazas in El Cardonal, as well as a numerous other local favorites.
All in all, a great stay, and I will definitely be back!

This is PARIDISE!!!!!
This place is FABULOUS!!!
It is super clean, well maintained, spacious, and most important breathtaking!! It is in a perfect location!! I went there for a girls weekend and all of us had a wonderful time!! The pool is gorgeous, the ocean is right there. They have the most beautiful sunrise!! You can snorkel, kayak, paddle board right in front of the house. There is so much sea life to see! It is incredible!
You can also rent ATVs and razors in Los Barriles and go for a great adventure.
On our first night we had the house keeper’s wife cater an authentic Mexican food dinner and it was delicious! There are many little restaurants and bars to go. In one of the nights we went to a beach bar called Lazy Daze which is a great place for a drink right on the beach. Very casual and super fun.
We also went to a cocktail at Las Palmas resort, which is beautiful! At the end of the night we went to Smokey’s which is a busy bar in town. There was a band playing. They have the best Margaritas in town and the tacos were amazing!
You must go toPunta Pescadero hotel for brunch and try their muchacas. So delicious!! It is very close to the house. We walked there.
On our last day we had a lady come to the house and give us massages while we listened to the ocean. It was perfect!
I will definitely come back and bring my family next time! One of my favorites places I have stayed!

Mexico the way it used to be. . . .escape and unplug!
Laura and Steve have created an amazingly relaxing and fulfilling sanctuary. As others have said, words and photos are not enough to truly describe the experience. My wife and found ourselves lost in the peacefulness of the views, the ocean, the beach the pool, the place. It's so what Mexico used to be, quiet, relaxing and away from the hustle of what Cabo has become.
The house is spacious and the kitchen is fully equipped for any meal requirements. As others have mentioned the indoor and out door spaces are generous making it easy for a larger group to easily find their own space. We slept every night with the windows open and in the gentle breezes.
The pool is beyond spectacular, and the ocean (Sea of Cortes) is crystal clear and warm. During our stay it was calm as the pool. One can Snorkel, swim and kayak right off the beach in front. There is a spectacular snorkeling area just south of the hotel that can be easily kayaked to as well.
Groceries, beer wine and tequila are readily available in Los Barriles, 20 minutes south as well at several smaller markets 10 minutes north. As others have said, you can easily never leave the grounds and prepare all meals, but given how good the local restaurants are, I'd hate to miss out! Plenty of fidge and freezer space too.
Local restaurants as well as the Hotel resturant all serve delicious meals. The hotel meal prices are more touristy, but the local places were stupid cheap. 5 persons meal with drinks for $1000MEP? Old Baja!
The one piece of the stay I appreciated most was the sense of security we had both on the property and in the Punta Pescadero area. We never locked or felt we had to close any doors, nor did we ever have any concerns while we were in either of the little towns. Almost like the 1950s in that respect.
Cell and internet work well, there is a cell signal repeater that picks up signal from Los Barriles, along with 10mbps wifi internet for those that really need to stay plugged in.
Massage is available from Luli, a local licensed masseuse. $40 on site for an hour massage, and yes it was amazing!
Lastly, the property is perfectly kept by Carlos and Nora. They will visit you regularly to ensure your stay is perfect. Nora has a menu of different meals she will prepare for you, at 1950s prices. Also as others have mentioned, we had one of her fantastic dinners that spilled leftovers into the next days breakfast and lunch. They are very gracious hosts

Wonderful little paradise
We rented this property with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday and it was perfect. The views are amazing and the property has a great layout. The house is large and good for people to have their own space. Great kitchen with a huge island that is good for gathering. Many outdoor spaces to enjoy the fabulous views. Carlos the care taker took good care of us. And the best meal we had the entire trip we ordered from his wife Nora. Everyone raved all night about the shrimp and fish dinner and wonderful cakes she made for us. We even ate the leftovers for breakfast. One of the best properties we've rented during our travels.
Thanks to Laura, Carlos and Nora

Words can't describe what a great and relaxing week we had staying here. The owners thought of everything! The accommodations were perfect with spectacular views from every bedroom window. The kitchen was so well equipped we could have cooked every meal, but chose to utilize the catering services listed in the welcome binder -- and were not disappointed. I can't think of anything I would have had them change about this place. We stayed "local" and enjoyed the pool, patio, and beach as well as the quaint restaurants nearby. The water was crystal clear making this area perfect for snorkeling. This is definitely the place to go if you want to completely disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life and just truly relax! We can't wait to return again!
