THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF MAPLE LEAF
The area around Roosevelt Avenue and 90th Street is the main business district in Maple Leaf. There, you’ll find much to keep you occupied. Walk up Cloud City Coffee for breakfast or a sandwich, and you’ll be equally likely to find some sort of community meeting taking place. Browse the kitschy store next door, Maxine’s—part florist, part gift shop. Roosevelt Ale House is a great place to stop for happy hour, or try Snappy Dragon for delicious Chinese fare. If you have kids, there are a few must-sees that your whole family will enjoy. One of the lesser-known treasures of the neighborhood is the Northwest Puppet Center, which houses a museum, a stage for plays, and holds classes for puppet enthusiasts of all ages. After you’ve exhausted all they have to offer, stop by Math ‘n’ Stuff and feast your eyes on their selection of games, puzzles, toys, and science kits. Run off some energy at the relatively new Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. The 16 acres of park land offer a viewpoint of both Mount Rainier and Lake Washington, a series of rain gardens, shelter, sports court, ball fields, and a play area boasting both a zip line and children’s garden.
MAPLE LEAF PARK & RESERVOIR
About an easy 10 minutes stroll down the street, the Maple Leaf reservoir was completed in 1910 with the purpose of creating a reservoir for residential and commercial water use. In 2009 the city began plans to move the reservoir underground. This was part of a city wide plan to replace all open reservoirs with underground structures in order to improve the quality and security of the water supply and provide new public open spaces on reservoir lids throughout Seattle. In 2013 the 16-acre park was completed.

The property was good and the neighborhood was great. The only issue is that there is no a/c. There were box fans, but was still pretty hot and hard to sleep. Probably not an issue except for the summer months. The only other issue is that I not only had to put down a $500 deposit that took weeks to get returned, but I also had to either buy non-refundable insurance, or put down an additional $2k deposit. All said, I would stay there again...just not in the summer.

We booked our stay through VRBO and had several issues getting the booking properly set. From rental agreements that would not come through the portal and the portal having "unexpected errors" and not allowing communication to my mistakenly booking for 2 adults and no children. The host was accommodating though the booking process and the issues that I had were not their fault. With the help of the host we got everything in order and headed to Seattle. When we arrived at the property there was a welcome note with some snacks and a bottle of wine. The house was cute and clean. It was 80 degrees in the main level and at least 10 degrees hotter upstairs. When I reached out to the host I was told that "most Seattle area houses do not have A/C" we found many fans in the house and were able to cool off the house by midnight. I was a bit frustrated but after checking in to it we were there in an unusually warm few days. One night we walked to The Maple, a restaurant just a few blocks from the property and it was a great way to spend an evening. All in all it was a good weekend.

Property as described. Easy access to downtown.

Very good overall, the contracting process through the application is clunky and not user friendly or secure. The house is great no complaints at all.

The home was in a great neighborhood with easy access. We had to get to the university everyday and the location was so close and never had to get on the freeway. House was great and very comfortable. The hosts were so easy to work with and quick to respond to all inquiries. Great stay!

We had a very nice stay here during Christmas. The snacks provided were lovely.

The house was close to the wedding venue and the house was very clean. Owners are great to work with. The optional cottage is a little confusing but all work out well.

This is a great place in a great neighborhood. We enjoyed the proximity to a nice park and playground, as well as some cute shops and cafes.
Unfortunately, the heater was broken our first night there and we froze all night! The next day the owner brought over a ton of space heaters which eventually got the place toasty. It wasn’t his fault, but he should have comped the first night, which he didn’t. That is my main complaint.
The dryer wouldn’t work unless we held it closed. I told him this and he said our load was too big…, we were trying to fry a single coat. We couldn’t get the upstairs tv to turn on, despite changing the batteries. The owner said it was fine … but it didn’t work for us.
Overall, the place was cute and comfortable with plenty of space for 3 grown ups and 3 kids. The location was great.

We rented this home for my family (for a week) to attend my son’s wedding. The location was great, very close to my son’s townhouse and the neighborhood was very nice and quiet. Kate, that lives downstairs, is very sweet. The home had everything we needed to feel comfortable, cook our meals and feel at home. It was nice being able to use the Netflix too. Thank you!

Walked into a spotless, inviting home that was perfect for what we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and clean and perfectly situated near everything we were visiting. Hosts are very responsive and easy to work with.

We loved staying in this adorable little home in the Maple Leaf neighborhood. The owner was very communicative and insured we had everything we needed- they even left us a little welcome basket! We would definitely recommend staying here and will add it to our list of places to stay in the future.

The house was perfect for our family of 5. It was well, well supplied with dishes, etc.

I rented this home for two nights while visiting Seattle to celebrate my son‘s graduation from the police academy. The property owner allowed us to have a get together on Friday night with friends and family. The home was clean and spacious. It was the perfect place to have friends in and had ample street parking. The kitchen had everything we needed to serve our guests. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Thank you, Trung, for allowing us to stay in your home!

My first night at the property I woke up several times to rats scurrying around. I had thought I was lucidly dreaming but come the second night I woke up to a rat on my bed and I kicked it off out of impulse.I was awake the rest of the night and when morning arrived, I found rat droppings. Upon contacting the owner to seek a solution, he denied my claims. He then wanted me to pay for a pest control company to come out ($499), as well as an additional $300 for his time to deal with this matter. Upon calling a few pest control companies to lightly investigate this matter, I found that they typically require 2-3 weeks to get on their schedule. Unfortunately, I was up in Seattle for business for only 1 week and didn’t have time to be at the home for an extra week nor care to pay to extend my stay and sleep with rats any longer. The owner at first couldn’t offer me other accommodations (so i got a hotel which was more expensive / why i got a vrbo in the first place). A few hours later the owner offered to put me at his other property but at a severe up charge as well as keeping my original money for the rat infested property and charging ME a cleaning fee, how ironic. I ended up staying at the hotel and am in contact with my credit card company because the owner refuses to issue any sort of refund. Don’t stay here.

Great place, clean and in a quiet neighborhood. Many local business's close by. Short drive to downtown Seattle.

The owner was in communication thru our stay but did not go overboard. House was incredibly set up for a family with kids books and toys. There were warm welcome notes and baskets. Bedding was clean and comfy. Kitchen had all I needed. Yard was nice for relaxing. Nice to have a washer dryer. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back.
4.9
It was a nice and cozy house and the location was perfect to be able to explore Seattle.

We had a perfect stay in this beautifully maintained, charming, craftsman style home with well-appointed kitchen and great neighborhood. Wi-fi, and two flat screens with movies and television are up-to-date and all in perfect working condition. Furniture is tasteful and comfortable throughout the house, and the spacious upstairs attic bedroom is a perfect get-away for parents or teens. We rented this home long-term (7 weeks) because we needed to be in Seattle for a family illness and death. Trung, the wonderful host gave us a significant discount for the stay, but also went above and beyond. For example, when we arrived we saw that we were going to need more dishes and flatware to accommodate our family meals. Within two days, Trung had supplied them. At one point the dishwasher stopped working; Trung organized for a repair person to come as quickly as possible, though we were ultimately able to fix it ourselves. Late in our stay, as the weather turned cold and the heater was more active, we smelled a bit of gas; after contacting Trung we had a technician out at the house within hours. In short, whenever there was a need or concern, the host was exceptionally responsive and responsible. When my sister passed, we were touched by the arrival of a beautiful orchid and card from Trung. Overall, this is a lovely property, with a truly outstanding host. Thank you for an amazing stay.
