About this apartment rental
The Simonton Studio is neat, sweet and complete. This pet friendly accommodation is the perfect location for exploring Key West. So, get out there and live it up in Key West and come home to a king size bed and everthing you need to fix your own cocktails and prepare some shrimp on the shared propane grill in the Courtyard.
Located in a 6 unit compound this tiny Association is located in the heart of Old Town on Simonton St. Walk to the Hemmingway House, the Butterfly Conservatory and stroll Duval street with it's shops, restaurants, galleries and museums.
People ask me about parking more than anything and this condo does not come with assigned parking but there are 3 spaces on the street out front available on a first come basis. I provide additioanl tips for finding parking with my instructions but I encourage you to not bring a car into Old Town as it is an historic district and over 100 years ago it was not anticipated that tens of thousands of visitors would come to enjoy it's beauty so there simply is not enough parking in Old Town for all who come and changing that would affect the historical value. A car is not a practical way to tour Old Town because parking is scarce and expensive all over town. Locals have adapted and have taken to bicycles to travel the Town. The City of Key West has implemented a bus service around Old Town called the Duval Loop and it stops a half block from this rental.
Should you book this property I strongly recommend you purchase the cancellation insurance offered by VRBO, particularly during hurricane season. Flights are frequently canceled by the airlines and while they may be willing to rebook new flights I do not have the flexibility to give you new dates and you will be expected to pay for the dates you booked. Cancellation insurance will cover this in most cases.
There is no pool at this property but there are small beaches all around the island and several are within walking distance of this property; Southernmost Beach would be closest at 6 blocks away. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park has the beach that locals like best, it is a State Park so there is a fee but the facilities are excellent: picnic tables, grills, outdoor shower, indoor shower, change rooms, restaurant, chaise lounges for rent and a water view that is the best in Key West.
If you prefer a pool there is an excellent public pool at 300 Catherine St. The MLK Community Pool is an 11 minute walk from the condo and this roof-top, outdoor pool offers excellent sunbathing and views of Key West.
There are also hotels that welcome patrons of their restauant to use their pools and I provide info on those locations in the condo.
Thank you,
Pam MacKenzie

Absolutely loved our stay at the Simonton Studio! The studio was clean, well maintained, and perfectly decorated. Everything worked flawlessly. Pam was an amazing and communicative host.
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here. The studio is within walking distance of pretty much everything in Old Town Key West. We ended up renting scooters as well just for fun. The CVS is only a block away which was a life saver.
I loved absolutely everything about our VRBO and our trip. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We had such an amazing time and cannot wait to come back here again next year!
P.S. if you do end up booking, you should definitely look into Key West Seaplane Adventures and take a trip out to Dry Tortugas. Once in a lifetime experience.

Pam's rental was perfect! It even looked nicer in person. We had everything we needed and it was nice and clean. I would recommend this unit and we would stay again. It was a good location. We got parking right in front of the unit. After we were tired of walking in the heat or catching the Duval Loop bus, we decided to take our car to explore and when we went to Fort Zachary Beach. We had no issues getting a spot out front when we returned multiple times. This unit is right near Better than Sex Dessert place and Duffey's Steak house. Both are great places and you can walk any leftovers right back to your unit. Thank you Pam!!!

The condo was a small studio with a kitchen. The condo was a block from Duval Street. So close enough to all the action but on a quiet street. The condo was clean and a great home base while staying on Key West. At the heat of the day, we were able to easily get back to the condo and rest for a little while.
If we come back to Key West I'll be staying here again! Thank you for the lovely stay.

The first and most important thing: the bed is big and extremely comfortable. Another unexpected plus: beach resort locations tend to have less than optimal water pressure in the showers and very soft water making it difficult to rinse. This was not the case at all. Pressure was fine, and rinsing was easy.
This room & location is no-frills, but comfortable and well-appointed. Everything was very clean and comfortable. I would absolutely book here again.

Perfect getaway accommodations — I truly enjoyed my stay. The studio was quiet, clean, and nicely decorated. No troubles getting in or out, and the host was quick to answer questions.
Simonton Street is a good location for all the downtown restaurants and pubs.
I highly recommend and would stay again.

While the location was further away from the main ‘drag’ than anticipated - it forced us to explore side streets. We loved it & enjoyed it.

The place was as described and very clean. The location is great for riding bikes to get around. The only issues were limited free parking and the wall AC struggled the July heat. It was a little noisy but the fan helped keep the room cool.

Amazing stay, perfect for a little get away. Everything is in walking distance and we were able to park right in front of the complex and not move until we left. Would definitely stay again!

Excellent location for our stay. Duval Loop bus stop was close by. Disappointed that the Wi-Fi service was down for two days. Close to restaurants but away from the clutter of Duval

This was a perfect little cottage that was welcoming and cozy and had the most comfortable bed and pillows. This cottage was very close to everything, we walked most of the time, the Duval loop was a block away and Ubers were very reasonable. The owner was super friendly and responded quickly and very very helpful.

We had a wonderful stay, the owner/property manager has thought of everything! Our stay was comfortable and equipped with amenities we didn’t expect but were pleased to have! Very clean and comfortable.
Pam was also helpful and very responsive when we had questions and was willing to work with us when our schedule changed unexpectedly.
The location itself is fantastic; close enough to be near all the action (one street over from Duval and within walking distance to several fun/adventurous activities) but at the same time, far enough to feel like a retreat/respite from real life. Would not hesitate to recommend this spot if we had anyone ask us where to stay if they’re down that way.

Very comfortable and a great location for short stays. Very comfortable bed!! Would have used more of the kitchen had we stayed longer. Maybe we will next time!

This studio is located in a great location in Key West! It is great walking/biking distance to many attractions around Key West, such as Duval Street, the Shipwreck museum, the Key West Aquarium, Sloppy Joes, the Southern Most Point Bouy and much more. There’s also a CVS near by and laundry mats in case you didn’t pack enough outfits for vacation. The studio itself is very clean and comes with plenty dishes/glasses/silverware and towels for you to use throughout your stay. The host responds back to you relatively quickly, so don’t hesitate to reach out to her with any questions or concerns. I would love to come back to Key West one day and stay here again!

This unit was honestly a perfect little getaway from the island. The A/C cranked and the place was always a great spot to cool off after walking around. Its located only a street away from Duval which is where all the best bars and restaurants were. Sometimes if you sit outside there are a few geckos that come out and run around, was really cool to see if you enjoy nature. Overall I would book here again if I come back.

The overall property was nice. Everything was clean and the owner was very easy to work with. We enjoyed being able to sit out on the patio in the mornings with our coffee. The patio area is small but for the two of us it worked out fine.
