About this cottage rental
Weekly rentals. Welcome to this remodeled cottage on Honeoye Lake, with awesome views from the north to the south end of the Lake. There is a small beach area with a dock giving you access to swimming and an area to launch and store kayaks or a canoe. A dock allows you to bring your boat or water craft for great fishing and water activities on a lake that has low boating and recreational traffic. A front deck allows you to sit outside and enjoy the lake.
The cottage is handicapped accessible with plentiful parking available. It is located on a private road, so it is a quiet retreat with low traffic. The cottage is on level ground to the lake, so no steps to enjoy sitting out close to the water. There will be a few steps down to the dock on the property. Added handrail down steps to dock Spring 2015.
There is lots of shade with outdoor furniture and tables to enjoy daytime outdoor relaxation, nature, activities overlooking the lake, or even lawn games. Enjoy your evenings around the fire pit, also provided on the property. It’s a great way to BBQ and entertain outside as well.
Inside there are 2 separate bedrooms, and a remodeled bathroom. There is a remodeled and fully equipped kitchen, new appliances and dining area. An enclosed sunroom completes this cozy cottage with a sleeper sofa. There is WiFi and it has a 32 inch TV with cable service; DVD player and numerous board games, puzzles and magazines. Ceiling fans and standing fan in rooms and an A/C window unit assist with those warm to hot days.
The cottage is located only 2 miles from downtown Honeoye, which has a grocery store, dollar store, pharmacy, liquor store, local restaurants & coffee shops, Breweries, ice cream store, gas stations, library, bank, and post office. Local artisan shops are open to the public.
Sandy Bottom Creek is the local swimming area and park for Honeoye Lake and has supervised swimming during open season. There is also a large children’s playground downtown at the school open to the public and during the summer Honeoye has free Friday night concerts at the gazebo.
We are near numerous wineries, some having not only wine, but beer tastings. We have two local breweries in Honeoye - The Birdhouse Brewing Company and Twisted Rail Brewing Company. Hiking or biking trails offer various levels of ability. Harriett Foster State Park is nearby and the view of Honeoye Lake is absolutely breath taking. It not only has walking/hiking trails, but has mountain biking trails for the adventurist. Cumming Nature Center is a short drive and offers an educational building as well as various walking trails. There are numerous biking trails in the Finger Lakes region and also the Erie Canal Trailway.
Honeoye Lake has a state boat launch and the lake offers all kinds of water sports. There is Trident Marina (585-229-2271) located on the lake for rental needs. You can also contact Canadice Lake Outfitters in Springwater for kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards for delivery right to you (585-669-9512). We have had guests get these same rentals from Reagan's Canoe & Kayak Livery in Himrod (607-243-9100). You'll usually have a minimal order requirement.
There are several golf courses within a short drive into Victor, Naples, Canandaigua, or Rochester.
A favorite to all is Grimes Glen, in Naples, where you can walk within a gorge along a creek to beautiful waterfalls. Naples also has a Farmer’s Market, Monica's Pies for great homemade pie and jams, and the Bristol Valley Theater. Take time to visit the Wizard of Clay pottery shop, which is just over three miles away. Here you will find beautiful pieces of artwork and functional clay pieces. If you are looking for a day trip: Victor has the Eastview Mall and the Finger Lakes Scenic Railway. Canandaigua has Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion; Penn Yan has the Windmill Farm and Craft Market – open Saturdays only; Corning Glass located in Corning, NY; Watkins Glen on Seneca Lake has a well known state park and Nascar race track; Genesee Country Village & Museum is located in Mumford, NY. There is Stony Brook State Park located in Dansville, with a $7 fee, but with a full day of activities. Letchworth State Park is close by too. Also, the town of Avon has the Vintage Drive-In showing newer movies rain or shine.
You will be impressed with this cottage as so many of our guests have been. Why not let us help you enjoy your visit to Honeoye Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of NYS.

This was a cozy, clean, well set up, updated cottage, right on Honeoye Lake. We loved the owners, who were just next door, friendly and helpful but allowed us the space and quiet we needed. Had almost all our meals out on the deck, about 30 feet from the water. Took our kayaks out every day and loved the lake itself. Water levels were high, so even the small beach area was submerged. That didn't bother us a bit. Had a great week and even the weather was perfect.

Bob and Sally are the best hosts we've met! The cottage was clean, well taken care of, and offered great access to the lake. We really enjoyed exploring the area!

The lake view is incredible. The vacation rental is clean with parking and lovely hospitable hosts who visited with us for a few minutes after we arrived. The tranquility and ambiance is incomparable. I could not get enough of the lake view in a safe and friendly neighborhood and reasonable driving distance to hiking and nearby city attractions. I look forward to booking a follow-up stay next year. Check it out. You will love your stay at this vacation rental.

Perfect lake cottage
The cottage was exactly as advertised. Even bigger than I expected. Very comfortable and had everything that you would need especially in the kitchen. Beautiful morning sunrises. Nicely located to the little town of Honeoye. Planning on going back next year. Bob And Sally were excellent hosts and very helpful with anything you needed.

Quiet and pleasant getaway
The property is absolutely lovely and relaxing right on the lake. It was immaculate. Our hosts were more than gracious reaching out to us whenever we needed anything, they couldn't have been more accommodating. Unfortunately the lake was a disapointment as there was no swimming because of a nasty algea bloom and the fishing was not good at all. IN all fairness because of the algea bloom the owner offered to give our money back which I thought was most fair. We opted to stay and explore the Finger Lakes region anyway which was most enjoyable. I would highly reccommend this cozy cottage for a nice vacation but follow the weather and lake trends for the algea.

Relaxing stay
Extremely clean cottage. We had an infant and toddler with us and there was plenty to do close by like playgrounds, short hikes, ice cream, breweries. The view was beautiful. We brought and used our own kayaks. Plenty of parking and the hosts were outstanding.

The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. The bathrooms had lot of towels and there were extra pillows on the beds. Whatever we didn't have, Bob and Sally provided. The view from the deck was gorgeous. We enjoyed every minute. I'll be back next fall. Thank you for a terrific time.

Enjoyable, relaxing stay
My husband, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Honeoye! It was very relaxing and peaceful sitting in the sunroom overlooking the lake. It was a great location and within day trips to Rochester, Seneca Zoo, Letchworth Park and Watkins Glen. Beautiful scenery all around us and Bob and Sally could not have been nicer! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway.

Just what we needed during a pandemic!
My parents, 2 teenage sons and myself needed this week getaway to feel refreshed and renewed from being home-bound the last 4+ months. It was perfect! Bob and Sally are friendly, kind and enjoyable. We invited them over for s'mores one night with their grandson. They made us feel right at home and very comfortable! We never lacked for conversation....not sure who talked more. Lol. The cottage has all that you need, just bring food or not. My kids and I slept on the back porch facing the water. It was so serene waking each morning to sunshine, ducks and coffee overlooking the lake. We loved being right on the water with few steps. My kids and dad fished daily and we did fry up some of what they caught. Sally took my teenage boys and her grandson one afternoon to Grimes Glen. A wonderful trip! My parents and I went to a couple wineries on different days (O-Neh-Da in Conesus and Hazlitt in Naples). Oh, try Monica's Pies in Naples too! Yum. We had dinner at Fratelli's in Avon one night and ice cream at Mill Creek Cafe in Honeoye. We rented kayaks from Canadice Outfitters, after two attempts at other places. They delivered them right to the cottage and we enjoyed them on early mornings and late nights on the calm lake. We told Bob and Sally on our way out that we would love to come back! It's a real treat when you find a vacation spot like that.

A Slice of Paradise on Honeoye Lake
My husband and I this year decided to get away from the Jersey shore and spend our vacation at Bob and Sally's cottage in Honeoye, New York. This was the most relaxing getaway my family and I have ever experienced. Your vacation starts as soon as you park your car. The lake is at your disposable. You just walk through the door and there it is in all of its glory. My husband and son could fish off the dock whenever they wanted. My children are teenagers and they were out on the water from dawn to dusk. It was fascinating to see both of my children unplug themselves and enjoy the outdoors. Bob and Sally were excellent hosts. Bob took our family and extended family out for a tour of the lake on his pontoon boat. The cottage was clean, the kitchen is well stocked with every type of utensil or dish you would need. As we drove back to Jersey my kids told us it was the best vacation they ever went on. If you call earlier enough you can rent paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks from Reagan's Canoe and Kayak Livery, located on Seneca Lake. They delivered our rentals and picked them up at the end of the week. I can't thank Bob and Sally enough for a wonderful week and a lifetime of memories. See you next year!

Awesome Cottage....can't wait to go back!
What a beautiful place.....both Bob & Sally (owners) are the most wonderful people you would ever want to meet, very helpful with the area as well. The cottage is setup perfectly, just bring your clothing & food (unless you eat out every day), that is all you need. This cottage is located in a quiet area, very clean and well equipped with everything you need from towels/bedding/dishes/basic household items. We found our favorite place to be the deck and around the fire pit ring. The area around Honeoye Lake is beautiful along with waterfalls within an hours drive. Bring you kayaks, we did....had many ventures out on the lake. Would recommend this cottage, we will be back in the near future!

We will be back!
First visit here. This past week was so relaxing. A beautiful view and quiet. The cottage was equipped with anything you’d need. Loved sitting out on back deck. The owner is right next door and very friendly and helpful. We already have a week reserved for next summer.

A Lovely home away from home!
We were so pleasantly surprised to find everything we could possibly need. We had planned to cook as we had brought fresh vegetables from our garden. The kitchen was perfect for all our cooking; cutting boards, very sharp knives, and pots of every size. The bed was comfortable and the sunrises breathtaking. Thank you for making the week a memory to add to our 50th-year anniversary celebration.

Very pleasant and very quiet place
We've stayed here several times and enjoyed the peace and quiet that comes with the area. The cottage is well equipped and is always clean and tidy. The view of the lake and hills is wonderful and this time we had a full moon rising over the opposing hillside and reflecting on the water--beautiful. There are a lot of things in the surrounding area to do if one is not so entranced as to sit lakeside the entire time.
