Prior to our arrival, communication was excellent!! Upon arrival, a hug, much needed at that point was received gratefully by me when I got out of our vehicle! Airline lost our luggage and our Hosts offered everything from clothing to calming words! Oh yes, and should I mention that hug! Michelina and Faith, are truly good people. If I ever am blessed enough to come back, I will stay here! They offered us limoncello, lemons, tomatoes, mozzarella and figs, and so much more! Within the area, everyone knows if you were staying at this Villa, you’re a good people! It was truly an experience to be treasured. We will do so forwver! As an aside, transportation, to adjoining towns, was so easy with Pina and Enzio, providing the transportation! Their Water taxi service was fast easy to find, and they were amazing. Enzio even took us into a cave along the shore, on our way to Positano. It wasn’t planned, but it was an adventure of a lifetime. You cannot go wrong with staying at this wonderful villa with these wonderful people and the surrounding area. I can only comment that I will be extremely jealous when I read your reviews as well! Hope to see them soon..

I cant say enough good things about our stay.
Michelina and her family made us feel very welcome and the villa was so interesting and comfortable.
I highly recommend staying here if you plan on having a car as the parking is right on sight.
Easy access to visit all of amalfi coast.

We had a great week at the villa. The villa has multiple outdoor areas to relax, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bedding and was very clean. We did have to contend with a lot of mosquitos and the air conditioning was only provided in the two bedrooms. The overall service level was excellent and Michelina was very attentive to our needs. The location is
great. Easy access to the beach, marina, parking and some very good restaurants.

A beautiful home with an equally beautiful family to host it
What can I say! Michelina and her entire family were so gracious, kind, and welcoming. The location could not be beaten and the parking was a major asset during the busy August month on the coast. It's a family home with a history and we loved that we felt that vibe. Everything was well-appointed and special. We would have cooked in the beautiful kitchen more, but due to the oppressive heat, we opted for restaurants instead. We would love to return with friends next fall. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your home. We would suggest this beautiful respite to anyone looking for a unique place to stay in the Amalfi Coast.

A very special place. A beautiful and tranquil haven hidden behind a beautiful beach and cove
The property is so beautiful surrounded by several private terraces full of flowers and lemon trees. Marina Praia itself is a magical beach cove and felt like a haven away from the busy tourist filled towns of Positano and Amalfi. It was a joy to return to the beautiful villa at the end of a busy day sight seeing. The property owners were very welcoming and it was a pleasure to meet 3 generations of this lovely family, we felt very lucky to be able to stay in their very special home. La Pirata restaurant is a must and the day trip to Capri was worth it for the boat ride there and the opportunity to swim in the sea. One fire beach round the cove was fun and could be reached by water taxi from Marina Praia. Marina Praia beach is lovely too and feels particularly magical at night when most of the tourists have gone and the beachside restaurants are lit up and reflected against the sea. We will definitely return.

Lovely & Authentic Amalfi Villa
We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Michelina for 6 days in July. It was our second trip to the Amalfi coast, and with two small children in tow, we were looking for a location that would allow us beach, pool and restaurants without having to drive! This is it!
The villa was spotlessly clean - Michelina had just finished cleaning it as we arrived. It's located in a multi-level compound (for lack of a better word) with the ground floor being devoted to gardens & a plunge pool, and the second floor being the rental villa (with dual patios out the front & back) and the third floor belonging to Faith & her family (I think I got that right)? Michelina grows all kinds of amazing things and the gardens are lush & beuatiful. You can see ancient stone walls & remains of ruins RIGHT THERE! Incredible! The pool was sparklingly clean and perfect for super hot days. Property also has a shared laundry room with washing machine to use. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need to cook a meal, and Michelina surprised us throughout the stay with fresh lemons, tomatoes, plums and a variety of little cakes! Oh, and homemade limoncello! Yum!
In terms of the location, it's just a few steps from the local marina. That's a great thing if you're looking to take a water taxi to Positano or Amalfi, and a not-great thing if you're looking for a relaxing swimming beach. The beach is BUSY and a bit cramped! There were several decent local restaurants withing walking distance and then an amazing restaurant (Il PIrata!). If you have a vehicle (like we did), the bonus is covered parking!
Perhaps the best part of our stay, though, was meeting Faith and Michele and their sweet daughter. At the end of the trip we felt like old friends, and I hope we get to see them again!!!

Relax by the Sea
We loved our week long stay at Villa Michellina !
Our hosts were there to meet us upon our arrival, were very gracious and supplied any of our requests. Thank you Michellina for the complementary Lemoncello ,it was wonderful.
The villa, pool and gardens are beautiful, very well maintained, and just like the pictures. We especially liked the easy access to the parking, beach, marina, and restaurants.
A great way to relax and enjoy the Sea! I would love to return to Villa Michellina someday.

Lovely home with local old world charm
The house is in Marina de Praia, a former fishermen's village turned into a small, charming beach town. The photos don't do this place justice, as the house is better than the photos - it is beautiful, full of antiques, very personal and warm instead of a cookie cutter hotel. It is very spacious, there are 2 terraces, one with a view of the sea. The beds are comfortable and there is a gorgeous kitchen that I would love to have at home, (though we didn't cook at all). The pool is small but private, and great for a post-sea dip.
Marina de Praia ended up being a wonderful location: off the beaten track, not too touristy, only steps from the sea. It's a great place to swim, mostly with Italians, and you can easily get boat excursions to places as far as Capri, and to other nearby beaches. There are some great restaurants here, (we especially loved La Conchiglia and Donna Clelia, but there are also more pricey but romantic options just 20 yards farther). There is a very cool, historically famous nightclub in walking distance (for the younger, hipper set). This was a good location to get to Positano or Amalfi, about 20 minutes by SITA bus. The nearby town of Praiano is about a 25 minute walk (or a 10 minute ride on the local bus) and has a lovely Church (if you can come in the 1st week of August, there is a very special festival called the Luminaria, which is beautiful). Compared to the crowds of Amalfi or Positano, this was peaceful, and a great place to really get away from it all. We were able to reach the Sentiero Delgi Dei from Praiano (though there were about 400 steps to get to it from there).
It is important that you don't expect all the modern hotel-type conveniences. We did encounter some ants (not really a problem) and a lot of mosquitos (that weren't as bad as the ones I am used to in the US, but a bit annoying). The decor is certainly old-world with furniture that is meant for sitting, not lounging, but for us, that's what made it special. You have to supply your own soap, etc. There is no nearby shopping or markets (though there is one in town that will deliver if you want supplies or groceries). There is a separate charge for internet and electricity, but not too much relative to the total cost.
For those who wish to rent a car, I would not advise it. It is scary even riding a bus here, and you have to be an expert to manage the fast but winding roads. We found the buses a great alternative, even in peak season.

Ideal location, lovely home, welcoming homeowner
When staying on the Amalfi Coast with children, the ideal vacation home doesn't require endless descending and climbing between the property and the beach. This home is right at sea level, with a small beach club and several restaurants. Our children went back and forth all day. At night, we had the cove almost to ourselves. The house feels very much like a home with beautiful artwork, ceramics and antiques. We took water taxis to Positano - a 7-10 minute ride for 35-40 euros. Parking was easy. Michelina and her family brought us homeade limoncello, homegrown vegetables, and other treats. My twin sister and I celebrated our 50th birthday at the house and grilled out on one of the beautiful patios. Children played board games and swam in the small pool. The only problem we encountered was that the kitchen filled with ants when we left for an outing one day without doing the breakfast dishes, but of course, that was our fault. I hope very much to return to Villa Michelina in the summers to come!
