Just a three minute walk to the beach and town. Two-bedroom, two-bath, vacation home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the quaint beach town of Hanalei on Kauai's beautiful rural North Shore. It features natural wood ceilings and walls, one king-size bed and one queen. A flat screen TV, CD, DVD, WIFI, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Ceiling fans in every room. BBQ. Outdoor shower. Stunning mountain views.

Ileina's Cottage was the PERFECT home base to explore Hanalei - and this has been my favorite VRBO during all of my visits to Kauai, by far. My adult daughter and I appreciated how close we were to all the Hanalei restaurants and shops, while also being within walking distance to the beach. The cottage was clean and well-stocked, and the owner and on-island contact were both so kind and extremely responsive. The cottage stays nice and cool with all the windows and fans, so future guests shouldn't be concerned about not having AC. I highly recommend staying here - you won't be disappointed!

The house was clean, and well appointed; everything that you could possibly want was there. Staying in this beautiful house, just a short stroll to the beach, and in walking distance to shopping for groceries, fresh seafood, restaurants, farmer's market, etc., what more could you possibly want?

What a wonderful place! Plenty of room for my family of 4… fully stocked kitchen, front door to beach is a 7 minute walk, clean, great shower, comfy beds.

We loved everything about this cottage! The lush gardens, lanai /front porch, and most especially the location. A short walk takes you to the beach or in to the sweet town of Hanalei. Hanalei Bay has a wonderful beach, ideal for long walks, surfing, swimming, and evening sunsets. The beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler were much appreciated! The cottage is quaint and spacious, perfectly maintained. We took advantage of the close proximity to hike the Kalalau Trail in Ha'ena State Park. Waimea Canyon is spectacular and definitely well worth the drive, as is Polihale State Park. We happened upon the charming town of Hanapepe on one of our return trips. We were happy to have had plenty of days to explore the island as well as relax in Hanalei. We are grateful for our time spent at your lovely property, thank you Elayne and Hilary!

We loved this little house. GREAT location and so cute. Everything was clean and the owner and property manager were super responsive. The beds were comfortable, the property was quiet, the house was well stocked and just two blocks from town. Super cozy, wished we had a lot longer to stay...

Our little group spent a wonderful week at this cute cottage. We especially enjoyed the big, open living space, as well as the large lanai and well kept grounds. The outdoor shower is a nice touch, especially after a surf. Mahalo!

Elayne's cottage was perfect for our week stay in Hanalei. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. There were three of us (2 adults + 1 child)-- we enjoyed how spacious the cottage was. We cooked many meals at the house and enjoyed eating on the porch every morning and evening. The neighborhood was quiet at night and we enjoyed the sound of the birds singing in the morning. I highly recommend Elayne's cottage.

Nice spacious cottage near beach with beautiful view of mountains. Great porch for meals, reading, coffee and waiting out the rain. Close to shops and restaurants. We rented surfboard and surfed or swam most mornings then went off on other adventures. This was the perfect home base for us. Easy to make meals in well-stocked kitchen. Laundry facilities a bonus.
Notes not related to the house, but good to know for tourists: We really wanted to hike part of the Kalalau trail but didn’t make reservations far enough in advance. Make these before you arrive. Also, Waimea Canyon is amazing and well worth the trip across the island. Lastly, don’t miss the Kilauea Lighthouse Wildlife Refuge (reservation needed)!

Great location and very well kept property. Walking distance to the beach and lots or places to eat or shop. Barely used our rental car after getting into a routine of early morning surf and exploring Hanalei during the day.

Weather wasn’t so great which made us appreciate the cottage even more since we ended up spending a lot of time there. Outdoor shower was divine.

What a great stay. The place is spotless. We had a 3 minute walk to town and the best beach. We cooked, we sat on the porch. So peaceful , so close to everything. If you go to Hanalei. Stay here!

The cottage In Hanalei was ideal for our recent North Shore stay, located in a quiet neighborhood— but easily walkable to beach and restaurants/shops. The kitchen and laundry were nice amenities also. Highly recommended for a tranquil getaway.

This is great cottage for one or two couples. So easy to get to the beach and town by foot. And, as we discovered, a nice house to hang out in when the rains come. Which can be a lot of the time in Hanalei. This is a great antidote to the resorts.

Absolutely loved staying here, for many reasons.
1. Location is perfect. Very short walks to town and the beach.
2. Clean and spacious living space with helpful amenities, beautiful outside space, on a quiet cul-de-sac.
3. Good, pleasant communication and easy check-in.
Hanalei is the most wonderful place on earth, and for that reason it can be hard to find a truly great, well-located place to stay. We wanted for nothing here. This place is a true gem. We'll return again and again.

This lovely property is in such an ideal location in Hanalei - take a break from driving and walk to either the beach or town. Slow down and enjoy Hanalei. The cottage had everything we needed, a perfect home-base for our trip.

We had a fantastic time in the cottage. The location is ideal for access to the beach and downtown. It was so nice that the house had beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and even a soccer ball! The house was clean and comfortable and stayed nice and cool when it was hot outside. We will definitely stay again! Thanks so much.

Amazing experience! Clean and well cared for cottage. If you are looking for flashy new kitchen and bathrooms this is not your jam. However if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, well stocked kitchen, and location this is your place. Only complaint is that I didn’t book it for a longer stay. Will definitely be back🌺.

My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Elayne’s cottage. The cottage is thoughtful in design to give privacy but yet feel open and quite larger than pictures represent. We did not cook much due to the proximity to amazing restaurants in Hanalei and picnics on the beach but we did enjoy that the kitchen had everything we could need, including a coffee bean grinder! The washer dryer was such a convenience but the BEST part was the outdoor shower!!! Will stay here again.

Lovely property. Close to town and a block away from the beach. Very comfortable and cozy. Felt like property is actually nicer than the site portrays. Owners were very helpful in getting our booking completed. Hillary the home caretaker was very helpful also. Loved the visit and hope to stay there again soon.

Ileana’s cottage is a wonderful place to stay in Hanalei. The cottage is lovely, very well equipped, and comfortable. Great views of the mountains. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to the beach or to Hanalei town. An easy drive or shuttle to Limahuli Gardens, Ha’ena State Park, North Shore beaches, and Kilauea Lighthouse. We loved walking on the beach, relaxing, and hanging out in town.

This is a perfect location. You can walk to the beach and the shopping area. We loved the cottage. The pictures do not do it justice. The four of us were comfortable inside and on the porch. The property manager was very helpful

If you want a quiet place to chill out and a laid back surfer vibe , Ileaina’s cottage and Hanalei would be hard to beat. Clean, convenient to town and Hanalei Bay beach (5 minute walk to either) and an easy drive to other beaches, hikes, golf. Only draw back was the cottage is definitely in close proximity to houses in 4 sides, so while it felt secluded at times, at others there were neighbors close by and a little noise from construction, deliveries etc. Still, the price value ration is amazing for 1-4 people and it has all the conveniences you need. The farmers markets and fish store j. Town were great for getting dinners to grill outside the house and great restaurants are three blocks away.

Everything was wonderful! The proximity to all we wanted to do and the beauty of the property was all we could ask for. Hanalei is very special to us and we cannot say how much we enjoyed this vacation. And this property was ideal. Although it was just the two of us, it would be a great choice for two couples!
