About this house rental
Hang out and RELAX at our spacious cottage on the bay. SeaDream offers sweeping vistas of the bay from our oversized deck at the rear of our home and grand Gulf views from the front! Just steps away to your own private bayside beach or an easy walking distance through the dune easement to the Gulf side sugar sand beaches. Bring your chairs and cooler and enjoy the Gorgeous Gulf without any of the hassles of parking or permits.
Our pet friendly property is located on a quiet cul-de sac off of the main thoroughfare through the island. Our private bayside beach offers pleasantly calm waters for children and a wonderful off leash play area for your pups!
SeaDream was newly renovated as of March 2021. New paint, appliances, floorings and more. Colorfully decorated, SeaDream offers exactly the kind of sought after beach side accommodations one would hope to find for a beachside retreat. Smart TV’s for those seeking a little time indoors after a long day on the beach. A Spacious Kitchen Island for preparing family meals to be served at the indoors or on our bayside deck dining area. A three bedroom split floor plan provides just the right amount of privacy to travel comfortably with your family or friends. Did we mention we’re pet friendly? We strongly encourage bringing ALL of your loved ones, fur babies too! Up to four dogs allowed!
SeaDream is a Fishermans paradise! With a private bay beach you can feel free to cast away without needing your fishing license or worrying about about the hassles of permits. No need to worry about someone else catching “your fish” either!
Dauphin Island is still largely untouched by the high rises, condos and large developments of many coastal communities. This provides for a true “Island Time” type of getaway.
Our property manager can suggest scenic historic spots, places to buy and eat locally caught fish, and more!
We also have a pet friendly Bed and Breakfast small hotel in New Orleans and you can benefit from reduced packages if you want to visit Dauphin Island, plus stop in New Orleans too!
Keywords: House on narrow western part of island, directly on beach overlooking north bay (shallow, calm waters, very private beach). Gulf beach, with breakers, directly across street, with easy access. See both bodies of water from inside house

This is a beautiful beachfront property with lots of extra amenities. The kitchen was very well stocked, plenty of sand toys, boogie boards, chairs and much more. The property manager is an amazing lady that was extremely helpful was in contact with us shortly after booking all the way up until after we left to answer any questions we had. They also own the house next door, we look forward to booking both next yr for our family and extended family vacation.

Three bedrooms was perfect for 2 adults, 3 kiddos, and a dog. Bay was always calm for swimming and never crowded. The gulf wasn't too far of a walk. Bring bug spray or pants and loose long sleeves for the walk out to the water due to mosquitoes, though the skeeters are worse some days over others. House was in good shape, loved the couch covers so pup could sit with us without worry. Back deck was perfect to watch the bay and eat outside. Hoses under the house and on the deck helped reduce the sand we brought in! Overall, would stay again unless we try to stay on the Gulf side next time.

Was a comfortable place to relax with our family. Like the description says, definitely pet friendly and house was clean and made us feel at home.
Would suggest bringing some dvds if you want to watch movies, we had issues with the wifi every evening around 8pm it would go out and was spotty during the day.
Only part of the descriptions that was off, or misunderstood on my part, was the deck. The photos makes it look like wr had one of the decks on the water, but it was a small deck (approx 8,10’) that was sitting in the sand.
Overall, was a nice house and we really enjoyed the quiet setting and the privacy of the beach. The weather was sketchy and the public beach was a red flag while, our side was calm and enjoyable.

Fun stay. We loved the location the house was perfect for our needs. The sunsets magnificent!
The beach’s were fab! Most of all loved that it was off season 😎
4.7
Loved the location of the property. Added bonus it is dog friendly. Was a little cooler than I was hoping for. But shame on me for not doing my homework. So it was a stay inside and relax.
4.7
Peaceful place to get away. Loved sitting on the back porch swing overlooking the bay watching birds and dolphins. Later, walking out the front door over to the Gulf and finding seashells.
The house was very nice and clean. We would stay here again.

We chose Sea Dream because we wanted to bring our dogs to the beach. The house and Dauphin Island in general were super dog friendly, which we loved. The property manager was helpful and knowledgeable when we asked for recommendations. A few things keeping the place from being 5 stars: the bath towels and sheets were dingy and gray, the grill was super dirty and rusty, and the couches were very uncomfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would choose someplace with nicer amenities if we weren’t traveling with dogs.

We stayed for a quick getaway to relax and recharge. We enjoyed our stay and spent most of our time on the back decks. very relaxing.
4.7
We very much enjoyed our stay and did not want to return home at the end of the week. The cabin is clean and the location is great - just stroll down the garden to the sound and dip your toes in the warm water.
The public beach at the end of the island is clean, and very easy to reach from the cabin - and is highly recommended for the sand and warm waters.
Dauphin Island has a number of good places to eat, including restaurants with live music.
The island is laid back but still has a Fort, an Aquarium, a Bird Sanctuary and a Ferry to the mainland to keep you busy!
The only word of caution is to ensure that you bring snacks and drinks as the cabin does not have a 'welcome pack' to get you going.

Beds are comfortable, living room furniture is quite outdated and uncomfortable. Overall enjoyed the stay

We truly enjoyed our time at Sea Dream. It was a much needed island oasis for us and our pups. What made is so special was the immersion into the beautiful bay, most amazing sunsets, easy stroll to the gulf and great neighbors. Having such a large backyard and water access was a super asset! The decks were comfortable and the home is excellent for rest and relaxation!

We loved this house. Spacious and clean, kitchen well stocked for cooking. Maybe add a brownie pan…but my girls made due with what was there! The bay views from the back deck were amazing. The gulf side was not crowded and the water was so calm. Nearby restaurants, aquarium and shopping. We love quaint little beach towns and this did not disappoint!

The house was clean and exactly as advertiaed. On the bay (which my kid and dogs loved) and a very short walk to the beach on the Gulf (which was not crowded ever). Deb the manager was great to work with. I highly recommend!

We loved the low key r&r vibe of Dauphin Island. This house was great for our family of 7. Our 4 and 7 year old absolutely loved playing in the bay acess right out the back door. We were able to see dolphins, fish, crabs, frogs and other wildlife right from the deck. One note to travelers that we had to learn and adjust to is that most restaurants close earlier and have a difficult time having tables for larger parties later of an evening. Overall beautiful house, helpful and communive management, easy check in and out, and a beautiful place to vacation. We would definitely recommend staying and hope to be back!

The house was beautiful and very nice the view was wonderful on the bay and you can see the ocean .the manger was very nice and answered any question i had very quick. The king beds we nice to sleep on .over all we had a blast on the island only bad thing is almost everything closes at 9 pm .

We booked a week stay for my in-laws. They said it was the best trip they have ever been on! Each morning they drank their coffee on the deck, and looked out at the water. They had their fur babies with them. The most relaxing, awesome trip was their description! And the host Deborah is awesome and so responsive!

We have traveled a lot and this is one of our best rentals to date! I love details when picking houses so hope this info is helpful.
Location: home backs up to the bay and you literally walk through the large backyard to the little beach area. We rented kayaks (salty dog delivered to the house) and LOVED paddling in the bay!
To the beach: walk out the front, cut through an open area with houses (easy cut through), walk across the not-busy road and BAM - on the white sandy beach of The Gulf!
About the beach: LOVELY, NOT CROWDED!! Gorgeous beach front homes to enjoy as you walk, everyone was so friendly. DOG FRIENDLY and we saw many with furry babies.
About the house: great front decking with a gate so dogs couldn't escape. Pretty, fresh colors in the wide open plan: kitchen with large bar open to living room and an adorable nook w/ additional seating (great for yoga and if you have little, for their toys). Laundry room off kitchen was hugely helpful! Kitchen very well stocked for cooking meals, lots of silverware, plates/bowls/glasses, wine glasses and coffee cups. Grill provided (bring charcoal).
Bedrooms: 2 comfy king beds, adult kids slept in the bunk beds. For reference, 2 couples and 2 adult kids and there was plenty of room for all 6 of us.
Back deck: So much decking and seating for morning coffee and evening cocktails, picnic table was fun! You can rinse the sand off under the decking or up on it (two spots - so helpful). Gated so dogs loved it!

Was extremely quiet! Compared to the crazy busy of a panama city style beach. Very much needed.

We had a great time in this house! Had fun fishing on the bay!

This was our first time coming to Dauphin Island and we were not disappointed. If your looking for a peaceful time and and super friendly people, this is the place to come.
Our house was very clean and well furnished. Plus they are very dog friendly.
The whole island is. There wasn’t one outdoor place we couldn’t take her.
We definitely recommend staying here!

The house was actually better than expected. The pictures don’t really do this little gem justice. The beds were nice and comfortable. When they say pet friendly, they mean it. The house had puppy pads, sheets for the puppies, poop bags etc. and of course the gates off the porches to keep our fur babies safe. It rained most of the time we were there and the weather got ready bad and windy a few nights, we felt the house was really solid. The only suggestions we had were the couches were futons and since we had to spend so much time in the house we used them a lot and they were not comfortable at all. I did let Deb know and she was right on it with the owners letting them know about our suggestion. The grass needed mowing, but it was extremely too wet so I completely understand why it couldn’t be mowed while we were there. All in all, it was a great house and I’d have to give it 5 stars.

Clean property
Great views
Owner was great to deal with throughout the process
Only tip…get groceries before going on island

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the beach house!

House was well equipped with essentials. The location was great and we had wonderful views of the water. It was also great that they accepted dogs. They loved the back porch!
4.7
We brought our fur babies. On our anniversary trip. The house was so dog friendly. Including leashes, dog blanket and gates on both decks. The house was very clean and well taken care of. Even though it was January the was a sunny 65. My only suggestion is to find a more comfortable couch. It was like sitting on wood boards. Other than that a fantastic home

First trip to Dauphin Island and the laid back atmosphere was excellent. Very few people on any of the beaches at any time. Gorgeous sunsets and sunrises and my daughter was so excited to catch a stingray fishing in the back yard! The posted pictures don't do the house justice in my opinion it's nicer in person and very clean.
4.7
We had an excellent time.

We have never rented from a more caring property manager. The lock on the gate railing was broken and she sent someone right over. She called on our first day to make sure everything was working properly. Location was awesome for us with a dog.
4.7
We had a great time during our stay! The pictures on vrbo do not do it the home justice. There is a new larger tv in the main living area and two bedrooms have King beds with new super comfortable mattresses. The walk to the gulf side was super easy. This is was a great place for the family to unwind!
4.7
We enjoyed our time in Dauphin Island. This house is in a great location and you can enjoy the deck and watch the sun set. The gated decks are great for relaxing with you dogs and not having to worry about them. Beds very comfortable. Very close to the beach.
4.7
We enjoyed the bay side since the gulf side had huge waves each day. Hard to swim on the gulf side.

This little cottage on the Mississippi Sound is ideal for a great getaway. Quiet cul-de-sac with plenty of room to roam. The house is nicely appointed and not overly decorated. The bright colored walls and big windows are cheerful and give an excellent view of the water, as does the large porch and rear deck. Just a great place to stay with ample space for the whole family. Just grab your beach blankets and go!

I experienced three main issues.
1) House was comfortable but none of the furniture pictured is what is in the home or on the deck. The only eating area inside the home is at the counter. According to property manager Deborah Smith house sustained substantial damage from Hurricane Sally which occurred in September 2020. In my opinion updating photograph's is relatively simple task to complete and should be kept up to date since this is the only way renters have of knowing what to expect. Especially since they had over a year in order to complete this task before my stay.
2) Communication is a major problem that needs to be addressed. Property manager did not meet a single deadline as promised. At a minimum I would expect a quick note to state that she wasn't going to be able to supply information as promised with an estimate of when she might be able to complete. This is common curtesy in any business dealings. But this never happened communication started out terrible but did get somewhat better towards the end of my stay. According to Deborah she and owners are old friends and both reside somewhere in Florida so I don't know if this is part of problem. But for every communication problem there was an excuse. I am not cold hearted and am relatively flexible person but if management is experiencing personal issues that don't allow her the time to fulfill her responsibilities than perhaps someone should be hired to fill in temporarily to help ot.
3) Power Outage for an entire day. While I was scheduled to visit there was a planned power outage of the entire island for a full 8 hour day which ended up being over 9 hours long. When a week before I was due to arrive I asked the property manager Deborah about why I had not been alerted of this outage she said they did not know it was planned to occur. According to town website, where I located this information, this had been planned for over a month. How can they not have been informed of this outage? This is just impossible for me to believe. Even visitors to other areas in Alabama that I spoke with while I was there knew about the outage. After some grumbling the owners agreed to give me a 50% credit for that day but I am still waiting for the credit to show up on my credit card at this point over 3 weeks later.

Our stay was wonderful. Exactly what we needed. Property was exactly as described and Deborah was wonderful. She made sure everything was perfect for our trip.
4.7
We enjoyed being right on the beach and that our dog was able to enjoy himself as well.
4.7
Very nice place to stay. Just a very short walk to "middle beach." Great place for dogs, too.
4.7
Great house and experience.
