About this apartment rental
Casa Flora is a complete little two room apartment just off Taos Plaza and close to everything Taos offers.
Enter through a brick courtyard lined with summer blooming flowers and outdoor seating area for an evening glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee.
Casa Flora has a living room/kitchen which is comfortable and inviting. The kitchen is well equipped for at home dining and can seat four. The living room sofa is a new queen sofa bed with gel foam mattress for two additional guests or children. Additional $25 per person per night which may be left at departure. The room is heated with a gas log stove and the skylight offers wonderful Taos light.
The bedroom features a queen bed with premium bedding, good reading lights, cozy robes, and charming gas log stove with a decorative tile surround. Only operate gas log stoves from wall thermostats. NEVER turn off main gas line.
The bath has a tiled shower and plenty of towels and bath supplies. Leave your hair dryer at home since I provide one.
Casa Flora is located in an adobe building built in the 1880's and has wooden floors, hand hewn beamed viga ceilings and many multi paned operable windows. 14' thick adobe walls assure winter warmth and summer coolness. All windows are screened with perfect privacy and security. There is a ceiling fan in the kitchen and another in the bedroom. I also a provide 2 swamp coolers in case you are staying during our (luckily short) summer heat spells.
Casa Flora is furnished with antiques, original Taos art from some of our exceptional artists and my sense of whimsy throughout.
As with all of my properties I am dog friendly. I provide dog sheets for bed and furniture. Please use. I charge $10 per dog per night which may be left at departure.
If this apartment is booked for your days please look at Vrbo 422849 or Vrbo 598600. Very similar and on the same street. Vrbo 598600 is an adjoining apartment and can be rented together with Casa Flora for larger groups or families. Vrbo 422849 is just upstairs in the same building.

Outstanding location, unique decor, comfortable stay for a visit to Taos. Highly recommended!

The good:
Great location within easy walk to plazas, park, restaurants.
Fun, kitschy, decor. Great little sitting area in a patio garden with butterflies and bees. Good coffee.
The bad:
Number 1: The wifi/internet at this apartment was terrible. Constantly dropping out and buffering. Seemed better at night which makes me think several "other users" may have been on it. We called management on the first day (friday) with assurance that "Lex" would respond promptly. We received zero response but acknowledge it was Labor day weekend.
Number two: Bed had a sagging body divot on the right side due to either a old mattress or broken box spring.
Number three: Cleanliness. There was a quarter inch of dust everywhere. It was so bad that we both woke up sneezing daily. Dog hair on the rugs and couch. (we love dogs but not the hair)
Number 4: Electrical issues. Bathroom lamp fixture flickering/surging. Loose GFI electrical outlet next to sink with short circuit potential due to how loose it was in the gang box. Bed room ceiling fan chain broke on the first pull. Several plug strips on the single gang outlets. Mismatched light bulbs throughout.
Number 5: Worthless TV. A single 20-22 inch that was bolted to a high shelf with poor wifi connection.
Number 6: Free advertised parking wasn't. We had to move the car daily and pay.
Number 7: Miscellaneous. A foot ripping nail head sticking up from bathroom threshold.
We really did want to love the place but so many issues.

The apartment was clean and the location is good. The lighting is not good, WiFi did not work, there is no closet for clothes and communication with Melissa wasn’t the best. I sent an email upon our arrival, which was a Monday, and still had not heard back when we left Thursday.

The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating. The property itself is a delightful blend of Taos charm and modern comfort. It's impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The location can't be beat – just a short walk to the heart of town, with easy access to fantastic restaurants, galleries, and museums. If this gem is available, don't hesitate to book it!

Casa Flor was very cozy and a quiet getaway tucked in the courtyard. Even with the bustle of the 4th of holiday and fireworks, it was a quiet spot. We were able to walk to many sights, restaraunts etc. in town easily. Great spot for our getaway.

Our apartment has to be in the best location in Taos. It is walking distance from everything. The apartment is so authentic! It is beautifully decorated, and it was very clean. We had a wonderful time. Our hostess was very helpful, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who was to experience Taos,

This little place is right across the street from the plaza—the perfect location for a Taos getaway. The flowered entrance is stunning, and the old adobe building was beautifully renovated. The decor is quintessential Taos.

When booking we were looking for great location, which it is. The tiny patio was a great place to relax. But the mattress on the bed should have been replaced well over a year ago. The sag was apparent even before getting in. Neither my husband nor myself were able to sleep well. The shower had some mildew which was off-putting. No window coverings! We were up with the sun whether we wanted to be or not. I cannot recommend this location because the minuses outnumbered the pluses.

This apartment is so cute and eclectic inside. Much attention given to detail and design. Well equipped kitchen. Bed could use a new mattress but was okay for a couple of days. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our visit to Taos!
The apartment was in a great location, close to shops and restaurants. We brought our small dog with us, and just a note, there is not a lot of grassy areas around the apartment. So if you’re bringing your dog, you will need to take them across the street or on a walk. Overall love the apartment and location and would stay again on our next visit.

Love the location, private, easy in easy out. Great decor and comfortable. We were able to relax with wine in the evening, a little dancing on the kitchen floor and then made breakfast in the morning before leaving.
large kitchen area with refrigerator to store the food we brought and all needed kitchen items.

Tucked in a quiet corner very near the central Plaza and restaurants.
Location is great. Small bathroom, but plenty of space in the rest of the rooms.

Never stayed at such an interesting place. Very clean and located close to everything in Taos, would stay there again.

We stayed for one week. The location is very convenient for walking to the plaza and nearby shops and restaurants. It's also easy to use as a base for driving anywhere in the Taos area. The apartment has all the basics for eating in and it is quiet. We brought our dog and she settled in easily. Parking is a little bit inconvenient...across the street is free at night, but not during the day. Free town parking 3 blocks away is free during the day but not allowed overnight. So when necessary we shuttled the car. Overall though, great location, clean, and a good value.

This is our 4th time to stay at Casa Flora. The location is perfect for our stay in Taos for a week long class. We will look forward to returning next year.

This is a delightful place to stay! While small, it is cozy and comfortable. Guests have all they need to relax and enjoy the area. The many shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The hosts are most accommodating and answered any questions with friendly and prompt answers. We would stay here again when in the Taos area.

The property is in a great location, near the Taos plaza in the center of town. The room has an old-timey feel which was nice for me, but may not be for those seeking more modern accommodations.
It was very hot when I stayed there so Melissa installed a window unit AC in the bedroom which was a big help.
There is a little garden you have to walk through to enter the building. The garden is nice, but when you walk through the path you bump into the flowers and bushes. It would be nice if these had been trimmed to allow easier access to the door.

We had a great stay at Casa Flora. I wasn’t aware how large it was. The kitchen was well-equipped. The decor was whimsical. The location couldn’t have been better: we walked to the plaza & surrounding restaurants. The manager, Melissa, was extremely accommodating of my inexperience in reserving a VRBO (thanks!). I would definitely stay here again.

I truly can say Melissa is extremely helpful and accommodating. She answered the phone each time I would call with questions. She made my stay feel like I was family. I enjoyed meeting Joy who takes of the cleaning, and how comfortable I was, traveling solo. I will not stay anywhere else, if I return to Taos. I highly recommend these properties.

It was all we hoped it would be. Location was perfect. Loved the decor. Comfortable bed. Patio chairs not very comfortable. The chairs were rusty.

We are seasoned world travellers, familiar with all levels of stays whether measured by budget or ratings, and I have to say we were utterly disappointed by this property.
While the property is super-vintage cute, with a prime location, it fell SO FAR SHORT of the minimum cleanliness and minimum quality of the beds that it was completely unstay-able. When your dishes have dust bunnies, and the bed is so badly worn that even one person slumps into the middle like a hammock, it doesn't really qualify as "accommodations". If it wasn't for our late arrival we would have not spent even one night.
We spoke to the owner, but only after having our concerns negated or ghosted for a whole day. Owner eventually gave us a refund of 2-nights stay for the actual accommodation fee, but the online booking fee, and the very high housekeeping fee were not refundable thru the owner.
It was then past the 24-hour window for us to even make a claim for a refund from the website.
We've been proud users of VRBO for over 10 years, but are really reconsidering our loyalties.
Epic fail!

Quaint property that was just across the street from the plaza. Clean. Well furnished. Comfortable.

Casa Flora is a great place to stay near the town’s central plaza. Cozy with an eclectic decor and a warm vibe, the two room ground floor apartment’s wooden floors and adobe walls surrounded its guest in charm. Melissa is quick to assist and looks forward to helping with every need. She also has a wide array of other ‘homes away from home’ to choose from in this central Taos location.

Twas such a nice little apartment to stay in for a ski weekend. For some reason I thought there’d be two full beds but the couch pull-out was quite comfy! Would stay here again :)
