About this house rental

Our Mt Hood Wine Country Lodge is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath luxury lodge with vaulted ceilings decorated in a "Wine Country" theme. The river sits extremely close to the home; it only takes a quick one minute walk. During the cooler months we have a beautiful mountain stream that runs directly behind the property. In the quietness of the the neighborhood you can hear the soothing sounds of the river.

In September 2023 all the bedrooms and bathrooms were newly painted. Our home boasts: Air Conditioning, a large back deck with a hot tub and a fire pit set up for entertaining. The back deck includes 4 wicker chairs, an outdoor loveseat and a long wooden bench that runs the length of the deck. We have, as well, a second deck located off the front of the property with a propane BBQ and another long built-in bench for sitting. The neighborhood pool is accessible during the warm summer months.

Our master bedroom features a king size, 4 post bed fit for royalty. As well as a 39" LED TV with cable. The master has a sliding glass door that exits to the back deck, out to the hot tub. Attached, it features a full bathroom with a shower. The 2nd bedroom is furnished with a queen cherry wood sleigh bed. The 3rd bedroom, a smaller bunk room features a 3 person bunk bed (a twin on top & double/full bed for the bottom bunk). The great room features a stone backed wood stove, a 49'' LED TV, Wave cable, Wi-Fi (however sometimes spotty due to mountain availability) and a Blu-ray player. Plush furniture to include a sofa, love seat and recliner chair with a wall hanging, back lit, water feature. Our full kitchen is filled with all the amenities and appliances you would expect to have at home. (Honestly, our kitchen possess more kitchen tools than most and of better quality). The lodge has a washing machine and two clothes dryers for quicker loads of laundry.

Golfing is near by at The Resort at the Mountain, a premier 27 hole golf course that is just a 5 minute drive. This resort also boasts a lovely spa facility plus 2 eating establishments on site. On top of that we have over 10 wonderful restaurants within a 5 minute drive of the lodge featuring: Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Eclectic NW, BBQ, pizza, burgers, wraps, fresh salads and homemade soups, mac n cheese (the BEST we have ever had), steaks, friend chicken, etc.

The lodge is located in Zigzag Village, a small, mostly vacation home community that sits on the Sandy River nestled on the edge of National Forest Land. The home is in a very tranquil & woodsy area. Enjoy the community hiking trails, pool (during warm summer months), tennis court and 1/2 basketball court. The lodge is 10 miles from Government Camp on Mt Hood. The mountain includes: 5 ski areas, skiing, hiking, snow-tubing, snow shoeing, mountain biking, rafting, alpine slide, fishing, kayaking, bungee jumping, horses, trampoline, go-karts, brewpubs, live music, both elegant and casual dining.

Cindy & I have made Dean & Holly's place a go-to place for us. The place has everything you would like for a getaway from a hectic lifestyle. It's in a community but feels very private the way the house is set up. Everything Cindy & I have requested has been supplied for us. I could not put a higher recommendation for a place to hide away than this property. I'm afraid the property will get so popular we'll have a hard time making any reservation unless it is years in advance. Thank you Dean & Holly for sharing your property with us.

Great location to explore the Mt. Hood area. We really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean and comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed. Enjoyed hiking during the day and going back to the cabin and listening to the river and birds while we relaxed for the evening.

Really beautiful place perfect for 4-5 people with hot tub. We came to ski and our teenage boys had a great time. Only down side was there wasn't any place to store our skis but still worth a five star review.

Really enjoyed this cabin! Such a well stocked kitchen. Well stocked cabin in general! Great wood burning fireplace in the living room! And comfortable furniture surrounding the fireplace. Primary bedroom has such a comfortable bed and plenty of outlets to charge devices. From that bedroom you can walk right out to the hot tub. Hot tub was so inviting and also had a fire going in The fire pit on that deck as well. Huge kitchen table with for at least 8 people. While we didn’t use the front deck, it had a great grill out there with ample seating. Unit was on a great property which included tennis court and pool. Might have to book again for summer months. And not to worry about summer, this cabin has two mini splits for not only heat but also AC. Just a perfect cabin all around. Highly recommend!

We came up for some Christmas family time! The cabin was perfect. Had every thing you would need and more. There were many thoughtful extras that were provided too. We were hoping for a white christmas but mother nature had other plans. We were able to do some very pretty hikes and when we needed snow we just drove up the mountain 10miles and had our white Christmas. The hot tub was amazing after our activities. My wife, Cindy, and I love this place. It is our go-to cabin. We are tax preparers & work hard. This is the perfect place to destress. We have been here 3 times so far & we have never been disappointed. This place is ideal especially if you have mobility issues. Everything is on 1 floor easily accessible 1 bathroom has a shower & the other is a combo tub/shower. Right out the Master Bedroom is the deck with comfortable chairs, a fire pit right on the deck + the hot tub was very convenient right off the deck. We will definitely stay there again. 2 thumbs up for Cain & Holly, the hosts.

This lodge was perfect! It had everything we needed plus some. Well stocked kitchen and extra linens were welcomed. Comfortable beds. Relaxing community. Unfortunately the pool was out of order. This is a really great little cabin. I stayed here with my husband and another couple, and we really enjoyed ourselves. It was quiet and peaceful, despite being a little closer to other homes than I’ve seen with other cabins in Rhododendron, and had a big dining table perfect for cards and board games. It’s well-furnished for a rental cabin, with cozy sofas and surprisingly comfortable mattresses—no one woke up with a stiff back or a crick in their neck. The kitchen is also unusually well-stocked, with good-quality pans, sharp knives, proper cutting boards, and a good amount of basic supplies like foil and parchment. We always bring our own cooking gear because most rentals have sad, dull knives and crappy pans, but we didn’t have to unpack it at all. The only thing I would note as a downside is that the hot tub is pretty close to the main road. It was quiet enough in mid-March that we weren’t disturbed, but the owners might want to consider installing an enclosure or privacy screen of some sort. Even so, we’ll still rent this place again. Thanks for the great stay!

We loved our stay at this house. The kitchen was well stocked, the hot tub was awesome and we really enjoyed the wood burning stove. We are 4 sisters who try to retreat at least once a year. Sometimes this is more extravagant (ie: Hawaii) but mostly we look for someplace that allows us to reconnect and simply enjoy each other! This perfect house completely fit the bill! From the very well-appointed kitchen to the super comfortable beds to the lovely hot tub and the great conversation areas, this was a wonderful home! We walked the many little trails, cooked some great food and soaked in the hot tub. Thank you for such a great listing, prompt and clear communication and helping us to enjoy all of the offerings of this lovely home.

This wine themed cabin was a great find. It was very clean and tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. The walking areas around the house were nice for nearby exploring. Hearing the river running off in the distance at night was an added bonus, while relaxing in the hot tub after long days of hiking. The hosts were also quick to respond to questions, which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
