Nice little beach house. We've stayed here before and enjoy the house each time.

The location was great, just across the street from the beach crossover.
We never could connect with the internet even after reporting the problem to the realty contact.
The plumbing problem that occurred was promptly taken care of after reporting the problem.

We had to delay our arrival by a day due to Idalia threat. Our hosts graciously processed a refund for our missed day when they didn't have to. Location was fantastic with direct access to the beach right across the street. Got so much rain our first night that it ran over the pool deck and dumped into the pool. MGMT company (Suncoast) was very responsive and sent someone out to vacuum pool with follow ups the next 2 days. Pool was fantastic afterwards.
Hosts mentioned that flooding driveway (carport) was possible after a heavy rain. They weren't kidding. All in all the home was a no frills experience in a great location. I'd rent again.

We had a blast visiting St. George’s island for the first time. We came to celebrate my sisters sweet 16. The house is perfect for a family with children. The king mattress feels amazing. The private pool was my children’s favorite part of the house. It’s brick so we felt safer than most of the houses around us . If you plan on staying here just bring extra trash bags and toilet paper.
Everything was perfect and we would definitely stay here again!!

Can’t believe this was even closer to the beach than I thought!! We loved walking right to the beach each day and then sitting out by the pool. The king bed was heavenly, and the host was incredibly responsive! Thanks so much.

The house fit our needs well - maximize time at the beach with a decent place to crash. Kids enjoyed the pool after a long day at the beach while we showered and made dinner plans.
Maybe we just had some bad luck - but it didn't look like the house keeping crew did much cleaning - there was coffee ALL OVER the counter and splashed in the kitchen sink. We cleaned it up - but shame on the previous renters for leaving such a mess and the cleaning crew to not address it. Also, a pest control company had just sprayed...so there were dead bugs everywhere. Granted, we'd rather see them dead and not alive...just we had a lot to clean up and again would have hoped/thought the cleaning crew would have cleaned them.

We've been to SGI a number of times, and this was one of the best trips we've had. The house was really cute, right across from the beach, and the owner was so nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back again.

Thank you so much for letting us stay in your amazing beach house! It was absolutely perfect!! I loved the pool, the porch with such a beautiful view of the ocean (we saw around 10 dolphins swimming and playing one morning😍). The home itself is beautiful (the outside shower having hot water is amazing), all of the bedrooms are perfect size with two of them having really cool views of the pool. The shower in the master bedroom is HEAVEN! The kitchen had more than enough cookware, plates & silverware and we even purchased delicious steaks locally and grilled out on your grill one night. It was an amazing family vacation and the price for what you are getting is AMAZING! I cleaned the house almost spotless, did all dishes and put them away and washed & dried the towels before we left. I just wanted to make it easy on the house cleaner ;)!

While the location was good there were many more negatives than positives about this rental.

Wonderful time getting back to the beach and nature. The "blue house" was a perfect match for us during our adventures.

This place was just what we needed to escape the winter for a week! The weather was actually perfect most of the time we were here, and this house was great. Super cozy, right across from the beach, and had everything we needed. A bit too chilly for swimming, so we didn't use the pool, but we did some outdoor grilling, enjoyed the deck to watch sunsets and sunrises, and loved our whole stay. We'll be back!

We loved this amazing little house! It is really comfortable, and right across the street from the beach (30 second walk). The owner was really nice and helped us with ideas for the kids on the island and in Apalachicola. We'd definitely stay here again - it was fantastic.

We came down for our 25th wedding anniversary and brought the kids, and could not have been happier with Key West! The owner was so friendly and gave us a lot of great recommendations for things to do on the island and in Apalachicola, and the house was fantastic. Just cozy enough, but plenty of space and right across from the beach. We had a blast! We cannot wait to visit again!

I got charged for a slit in the screen that was there upon arrival. The house was very clean, few deck boards needed some screws put in. Everything was exactly as the review said. I don't know if I was supposed to do a overlook upon arrival, anyways other that the charge on the screen everything was excellent!

Cute house with comfortable beds. Fantastic location and the pool was perfect. Lookout deck was awesome! We had a wonderful time!

Stayed here with a family of 5 over a very busy time on the island and it worked perfect. Location could not be better as we were steps from the beach so when the kids got too hot or it rained we could easily escape to the pool or inside to the AC and cozy living room to wait out the storm. We also had a very delicate situation pop up with a member of our family prior to our stay and had to ask the owner for some special help and she was absolutely wonderful and understanding during the whole ordeal. Sometimes when you rent these properties you get a faceless company as an owner or management company and they are not as engaging, but Karrie was very responsive and so easy to work with. I remain very grateful for her kindness.

We loved the location..short walk to ocean..return home to pool. However, cleanliness of unit upon arrival wasn't great. There was a musty smell, sandy floors and top sheets of beds, a few dead/dying bugs on floors, and rotten apple core found under tv stand. Some updates to decking and bathrooms needed too. With a bit more attention to these details..would be a 5 star return to property listing.

When I initially rented the property, I was looking for something close to the beach that had a pool and was also kid-friendly. This place looked great, but I worried it would be a little small for our family of 8. However, upon arrival the house was much larger than it appeared in pictures! The screened-in porch was a life-saver with a toddler in tow! The pool was a great size and the upper deck was a great night get-away to listen to the ocean and look at the moon. The décor in the house was perfect. The location was great as we often needed to go back and forth to the house from the beach with one kid or another. We were very pleased with our stay and enjoyed our vacation!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Key West cottage. As the owner stated, it is not fancy but has everything you need. We found it very clean, liked the charmingly rustic decor, and we especially enjoyed the screened in porch for our meals and just hanging out. The location is wonderful, just across from the beach access path. And the view from the roof is great! Our weather was not cooperative or I think we would have used and enjoyed the pool more. Highly recommend for a low stress get away!

We loved our time in this home. The location was perfect. We could see and hear the ocean from the screened porch. The upper deck was great for viewing the ocean too. The home was clean and had super cute decorations. The kitchen was well equipped and we were able to cook a big meal with all the supplies included. The beds were comfortable and the couches were new and very comfortable too. The house had great WiFi for the kids and cable too for cartoons. The pool was crystal clear and we enjoyed sitting around it even in December. You can’t beat this location and we biked to the town center easily so kids could play basketball. The owner was also very attentive and helpful with all questions. Will definitely rent again. We loved our stay.

We enjoyed this little older house. It’s one of the original cinder block houses. The inside was clean and updated. Beds were ok, not great. The kitchen is sparsely appointed but had most things we needed. The pool is small but nice.
The problem was the outside decks and stairs which are dry, splintered, boards coming up, ans plenty of rusty screws. Lots of stubbed toes and stumbles. Most concerning, When we arrived the upper sun deck (which had obviously undergone some recent wood replacement) had an entire section of railing NOT ATTACHED WITH SCREWS OR BOLTS! If we had leaned against it with any weight we surely would have fallen from the upper deck. Extreme liability which we reported to management immediately.... the next day a guy came out to fix it (?), however we did not use it after that. We were very upset about this especially since we had children in our party. I’d be surprised if the sun deck meets building code.
I’d suggest asking about decking updates before booking this property.

Had a great time. It was right across the street from the beach which we loved. Very clean and cozy. Had all the basics covered. No complaints. Will hopefully stay here again

This is a great home and very close to the beach just right across the street which we loved. The home has been remodeled so everything is new and updated and beautiful inside we were the first guests after the remodel and had a few glitches but the homeowner was very quick to respond and take care of things. Our family had a great week and made lots if memeories we will definitely be back!

We had two families come together for a week at the beach. The location is great, across the street from a path to the beach. The pool was great for evening swims, and star gazing. The house is what you would expect for a beach house in this price range. Solid and functional, but in need of some updates. The outdoor shower and laundry were great. Our washing machine had some issues, but the management company was quick to fix. The kitchen was very useful, and had most items we needed. We were happy we brought a big skillet, a sharp knife (although there are quite a few on site), and coffee grinder. The coffee maker, blender, and toaster provided all worked fine.
The bedrooms were as expected, but new mattresses would be great. The bed wasn’t as comfortable as I had hoped.
Overall, this place is a great beach house. Our families made some great memories, and loved every minute of our vacation. We were thankful to have use of a grill, and would love to see a better grill in place as well. The old “state park” style grill works, but it’s not really a quick meal.
I could certainly see our families renting this cute little cottage again, it fit the 6 of us well, and was a safe, clean, and comfortable place to spend a week. Thanks for sharing this piece of paradise with the VRBO world.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Key West Cottage. The home was clean and comfortable, the pool was perfect for sitting and relaxing, and the rooftop deck has an incredible beach view. They had a fully stocked kitchen (equipment wise), but no spices/cooking oil - so keep that in mind if you plan on cooking. The one thing I would have changed would be to have a larger amount of the essential items (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, soap, etc). They were supplied, but only 1 of each per room, and we did have to pick up some more stuff. That didn't dampen our opinion of the home though - especially since the house was so convenient to the local stores. We would definitely come back, and would recommend to anyone.

We love St. Goerge Island and have rented more than a dozen properties on VRBO or similar. This was our worst experience. This home is in a great location and right across from the gorgeous beaches.
The home has a lot of little details that take away from ease of vacation living. One example - the TV in the living room and in the kids bunk bedroom did not work. This was reported and never addressed (aside from the maintenance guy coming and telling me it needed to be replaced and he would be right back but then never returning in 6 days). The lights in the pool area did not work. These are just a few examples of many things about this house that prevent relaxation and carefree living I seek on a vacation.
Additionally (and most disturbing), the home owner was quite unpleasant to deal with in all my interactions with her from the initial booking until a week after we returned from the vacation. For example - she sent me a payment request during the middle of our vacation for several hundred dollars. When I questioned it, the request disappeared. I figured it was just a mistake. Then a few days after check out - I get another payment request for several hundred dollars and a note that says pets are not allowed and this is the pet fee. Our pets were located in our home town more than 14 hours drive from this vacation home. No animals or pets were in the home. I asked for photos or more details regarding the allegations (as they were absurdly untrue) and again the payment request disappeared. This is just a few of the unpleasant interactions with her (yes - there were more!).
Do yourself a favor - don’t book this property!!

Just enjoyed Labor Day Weekend with my 2 kids, their spouses and my 7 grandkids (5 adults, 4 teens, 3 under 3) and had a wonderful time! The location was convenient - across the street from the beach and the pool was a wonderful addition for the little ones when we tired of the sand. House was just fine - older single story w. over carport deck so teens could enjoy their own space with little adult interference when they weren't riding bikes or enjoying the beach. House generally clean but showing wear; Kitchen well equipped but you may have to look through all cupboards. Suggest you wipe down counters & table before using (hard to avoid the beach dust that blows in & collects on surfaces). Bring extra rolls of paper towels & TP (only 1 small roll of towels & 1 roll TP in each bath) & cooler of ice (no ice maker & fridge is definitely small and worn, but kept food cold). There's also an enclosed outdoor shower and hose behind the carport that we didn't find right away, but it is great for rinsing sand off feet & shoes or to wash off the beach grit before jumping in the pool or coming inside. Our family enjoyed this get-away so much we've decided to make it an annual event.

This was out tenth year on SGI for vacation. We have stayed in many homes depending on the size of our group. This year was just me, my husband and out 2 teenage boys. We were excited about your home, having picked it while vacationing the previous year. When we checked in at the rental office about 4:15, we were told the house had been cleaned but had not been checked by the ambassador yet. The polite young man took my number, told us we could head for the house and he would call, telling us we could enter. We stopped at a store, bought some groceries and went on to the house. After waiting a while, my son used the code and we unloaded. We never received a call. Upon entering, the house appeared clean but the soles of our feet were black within minutes. We discovered the keyless entry system was not working a short time later but had batteries with us and used those as we went to visit the beach. The next morning the entry system was again not working and I called the rental office who suggested we go on to the beach while she put in a work order. I replied that was unacceptable as we would have no way of entering the house if needed. She put in an immediate order and the issue was resolved that afternoon by removing the unit and giving us keys. We were disappointed by the lack of furniture on the screened in porch, the living room TV remote did not work (even with new batteries,) and the overgrown dog run that was completely unusable. The slats on the bunk beds fell out easily. I was confused by the washer and dryer being on a pallet until we received rain and saw how the carport and utility room flooded. Needless to say, all items, including our charcoal were soaked. Again, we have stayed in many houses, some very expensive, some not so expensive, and some in the middle. Overall, your house was a disappointment to us. The pool was nice but needed cleaning to remove sand and debris from the bottom that we could not remove with the skimmer. The kitchen was adequate although it was the only house we have ever had with no ice maker. All dishes had to be washed before using as they were not clean. The layout of the house was great, and the roof did not leak during the rain. The ceiling fans were great to have and stayed on constantly. We liked the location of the house. I did send a report in after the flooding, so the rental company is aware of this issue. It would have been nice to know so we could have kept our belongings from getting wet and dirty.

Our vacation here was great and this house made the difference! It was wonderful for our three kids to be able to play as if they were home with the pool and screened in porch. We loved being walking distance from the beach, and the owners could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this spot to a family looking for a 'home away from home' atmosphere in a beautiful location.
