We stayed at David’s home with our 11 month old and our 12lb dog. All had a great time. Home is very cute and homey (100yrs old). David was very responsive to any questions we had (as well as proactive in a heads up about the Smokey the Bear parade passing the house). We’d recommend this home to others looking for a place to stay in Watch Hill

This home is perfect if your looking for a traditional New England stay on the shore. The house itself is very classic and comfortable. If you need it, there is a very good central air conditioner. The kitchen is functional for cooking and storing. The bedrooms were comfortable for sleeping. Our favorite spots were sitting on the porch morning or evenings sipping coffee or cocktails and just inside from there, a wonderful living room setup to continue chatting or watching on the smart TV with a cross breeze coming through the screened windows. By far our favorite part of the day was waking up at first light and walking down to East Beach with our dog getting exercise walking along the endless and beautiful shoreline. (Dogs allowed before 8am and after 5pm) The town of Westerly is nearby with a great seafood shop and great restaurants. David, the owner of the home, was easy to communicate with and just an overall awesome gentleman. Looking forward to staying here again next year!

We loved our stay in Watch Hill! The house was super clean and well kept. Communication and check-in were very easy. It was my first time in the area and I had a great time exploring. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at this perfect cottage. Great location with all the amenities.

Visited Westerly last year and really enjoyed the area. This year we decided a home would be better suited to us. Great decision! The “cozy cottage” was perfect for us, clean, well appointed, with nice spaces. We would stay there again.

The house was immaculate and well stocked with fresh towels and linens. The property and house are well tended with many amenities. The location is ideal. Close to Watch Hill and downtown Westerly which has many restaurants . We enjoyed morning Coffey on the deck and evening drinks in the Sun Room. Our dinner guests proclaimed the house charming and we couldn't agree more. The Cooked Goose is just down the road with the best breakfast around . The outdoor shower is refreshing and newly renovated with hot and cold water and great pressure. We had lovely breezes and it is comforting to note the house has central air and a great heating system. Our host David is charming, attentive, responsive and has a keen eye for decorating the premises. He is available when needed but never intrusive. He cares about his home and his guests' comfort. A new roof was installed just prior to our arrival. I cannot say enough about how delightful our stay was. My husband and I and our dog were the primary renters, with a visit from our family. The house is even better than advertised and our host us truly pet friendly. We will keep coming back. Margaret from NYC and RI

David is a gracious host. We will be back!

This cottage is wonderful. Great location with quick access to beaches and dining. Nice porches to sit and relax. Property owner is great to deal with too!

The 1 bathroom on the second floor is only a powder room (no shower) and only accessible to one bedroom. The other 2 bedrooms must go downstairs to use bathroom. Very inconvenient
Location is less than mile from watch hill village.

The description by David and the posted reviews are very accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, sitting in the front covered porch for our breakfast almost every morning (one morning we went to the Cooked Goose for blueberry pancakes and omelets), and the side deck for our dinners (again, for all but 1 evening). It was so pleasant to use the gas grill and to sit aside, we didn't feel the need to go to a restaurant. Besides, items we had brought, we picked up some ready made entrees at the Cooked Goose (which is just a mile or so down the road), along with fresh veggies from the farm stand located across the Cooked Goose. The AC worked very well and the kitchen as others stated is very well stocked, I only used a cheese grater of the items that I brought from home. I loved the outdoor shower - great pressure, great hot and cold water - and the sunflower showerhead was so cute. We used it almost every day; there is also a lower showerhead for rinsing off sandy legs/feet.

This was our second time renting this property. We had another great stay. The house is comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. We walked and biked everywhere. The beaches are beautiful, the parking pass was helpful, and we had a fun and relaxing time.

Another wonderful stay!
This was our second summer staying at the A to Z house. We had a terrific time in visiting Watch Hill and discovering new spots in Westerly and Stonington. David was a great host, he was prompt in responding to messages and was close by to check in anything that we needed. The house is quaint and spotless, a lovely spot to have for the week.

Clean & Quaint Cottage !
This cottage is exactly as described. David was extremely responsive from booking through our trip. This was our first VRBO experience and we hope to revisit this property. The property is extremely clean and has ample bath towels and extra bed linens. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of silverware, dishes, cooking utensils, etc. The driveway and front is nice and shady and there’s a nice porch to sit and drink your coffee on in the morning. Plenty of books to read. The house was the perfect amount of space for the four of us to hang out as well as to have our own space without being on top of one another. The house maintains a lot of period charm but is up to date with kitchen appliances, bathroom, and you could eat off the floor. The a/c is perfect and the outdoor shower and foot shower was perfect for making sure sand stayed outside. The area is quite safe and also quite private. The neighborhood behind the house is also gorgeous and we went on a little walk to see the boats. The beaches in Watch Hill are easily walkable within maybe 20 min but, bc there’s not sidewalks for a portion, we decided to drive. A parking pass is provided and we had no trouble finding a spot in the morning when Sift opened, at lunch time every day for the beach, and then back again in the evenings to watch the sunset over the bay with Del’s Lemonade and St Clair ice cream, even on weekends. Both Carousel Beach and East Beach were fun. Carousel beach is a paid access beach but showers and a changing area are available with your access (public bathrooms are free to use regardless of whether you pay to access the beach). The waves are calmer on the bay side as well. I would recommend this particularly if you have little ones. East beach is free, larger, a little more crowded on the weekends, and has much bigger waves. We enjoyed the free lighthouse tour and saw spectacular views. Watch Hill is a beautiful area and this house is absolutely perfect to enjoy it! 5 stars!

A charming spot for a beach vacation
This charming cottage is clean and organized and provided ample room for our mother and son beach vacation. The house is fully renovated but maintains some period charm. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking or grilling and the appliances are all clean and in top condition. The downstairs has a full-sized sunny kitchen with access to the deck and an open living room and dining room with an adjacent bath and sunroom. The upstairs has a principal bedroom, a guest room with a half bath, laundry, and an office with a small daybed. The bathrooms are clean, have good water pressure and well-stocked with towels and the beds are comfortable. David was very responsive to questions and was a very friendly and helpful host. The home is a 15 minute walk to Watch Hill General Store and my 4 yr old made the walk with ease. We also enjoyed a stroll in the neighborhood behind the house with views of the boats going into the water and some marsh views. My son enjoyed chasing birds in the green yard and having control of Netflix after eating in. We both especially enjoyed our nights out in nearby Mystic, and in downtown Westerly where we stumbled upon the pops and fireworks. We will be back one day with additional family because there is ample space to share and a little something for everyone in Watch Hill. Check local events when booking to make sure you don’t miss something fun happening in town!

Lovely property for a family beach trip
Lovely, comfortable, unfussy property for a family beach trip. Kitchen is well-equipped for casual cooking and family dinners. Easy to use in-home laundry makes a trip a lot easier to manage. Single bed is a bit noisy when you roll around in it, but overall accommodations are very comfy. We love the book shelves! There's a nice sized yard for kids to play, and the property is a very short drive to the center of Watch Hill.
Those who enjoy a good walk or those on bikes can be in downtown in no time. Watch Hill beaches, even in October, can't be beat. Will book again.

Lovely home!
The home was perfect for us and our pup. David was great! Just a short ride to downtown and the beaches. Napatree is the best beach in New England! A very relaxing stay. We will definitely come back!

Second time around!
This was our second stay here and it was just as great as last year—-a clean and comfortable home in a prime location. Watch Hill and all of Rhode Island are worth visiting.

Great week spent in Watch Hill at the A to Z House!
This was our second time staying in this rental property and we have nothing but great things to say! We are lucky to have found this gem just a mile from Watch Hill beaches. The house is very clean and comfortably sleeps 4-5 guests. The parking pass for the lot near the Carousel Beach is very ideal, considering the $50 daily price to park in private lots. We love that this house is dog-friendly so that we could bring my Boston terrier along for the vacation. We will definitely be back!

The house was perfect, as described. Wonderful week, with the much needed a/c available. Highly recommend the a-z house if you are looking for a watch hill stay

Relaxing stay!
We really enjoyed our stay. We brought bikes, and biked or drove to the beach every day. The house was clean and as advertised. Visitors should be aware that this is a pet friendly house, and if you have allergies it might be an issue. The owners were lovely and responsive when I realized a few days before my stay that there had been dogs in the house, which was so appreciated. Even so, I needed daily Zyrtec, so fellow allergic renters, don't miss this info on the house like I did!

Our family had a wonderful stay in Watch Hill!
David was a wonderful host and was easy to communicate with throughout the whole process of renting his home. The location is perfect as it is a 3 minute drive to the beach where we were able to park using the beach parking pass that comes with the house (a must while staying in this area!) Our dog had plenty of space to run around and there are also many trails to walk very close by. The home was cozy and quaint, and one of our favorite parts was the outdoor shower! One thing to note is the beds are 2 doubles and one single so the sleeping arrangements might be tight, but other than that our stay was absolutely perfect. I would definitely recommend staying in this home, and we had a great experience exploring the town of Watch Hill and the surrounding towns nearby.

Gem in Watch Hill
The house was comfortable, sparkling clean and had everything that we needed. David was a wonderful host and was very responsive to any questions that we had before and during our trip. The house is located close to Watch Hill and the neighboring towns. As noted in other reviews, the parking pass is invaluable as it is hard to find a spot in town. We had a wonderful family vacation in Watch Hill and looking forward to coming back.

Wonderful Watch Hill Family Vacation!
The home was pristine when we arrived and so lovely. Our family (and pets) loved the house and enjoyed the big back yard and barbecuing. We also loved the 3 minute drive (or 12 minute jog) to downtown Watch Hill and the Ocean House. The beach pass that came with the house was also such a great perk! We plan on coming back here each summer and making a tradition of it!

The house was cozy, clean, and a great home base for a wonderful 5 days in Watch Hill. A great place to bike from, and to rest your head at night.

Lovely property for a beach trip
Lovely property in a great location. It was spacious and well equipped. The decor is as described - cozy cottage
Internet was fast (which we needed). It's on a main road but set back so it wasn't busy or noisy. There is a nice yard for kids to play in. The beach pass is invaluable! The house is a short drive or longer walk to the beach (less than a mile to Ocean House), restaurants and really nice boutiques - plus ice cream!. Of course, the main attraction is the stunning beach, which has public access through a charming foot pathway. Mystic Aquarium is about 20 minutes and a pretty drive away. A few silly things about the house... there was no soap in the bathrooms so we picked up extra. If you love to cook or will be making several meals, you may want to bring a sharp chopping knife and peeler. Otherwise whatever you need should be available. We will definitely try to book this property again.

A Welcome Retreat
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 week stay in this house. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped with necessities.
The 3 porches provided plenty of options for relaxing at all times of the day and the Bay St. parking pass was a must for spending hours at East Beach and Napatree—-the iconic Watch Hill beaches.
We loved the memorabilia on the walls depicting the history of Watch Hill. There are plenty of other places to visit in RI and this house is a good home base.
David is a very accommodating host and we highly recommend this house.

Great cozy house!
We had a great time at the house. Tons of supplies in the house and all the dishes, etc that you could want. Even though the house was on a main road, it sat back and was fenced in and felt really secluded. Would definitely come again!

Comfortable Watch Hill House
We really enjoyed our stay at this very well equipped 2.5 bedroom house on Watch Hill Road. The house was spotlessly clean and we got to make use of the new, nicely renovated downstairs bathroom and new cooking equipment. Dave the easygoing owner was friendly and helpful. The screened in front porch was a great spot to hang out. We'd definitely return.
