The house was a great fit for my family of 6. Scott the host was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. It was an easy hop over the creek at the edge of the property onto the Laurel Ridge Loop (after a bit of playing in the creek of course) and off to hiking fun. The house is far enough south that its only 10 minutes to get off mountain but also only 1 street down from The Market and the rest of the resort amenities. House was well equipped without being crowded and the beds were comfortable!

A birthday surprise weekend for my husband. The house was perfect with everything we needed including a great hot tub. The host was an excellent communicator and provided lots of information on restaurants and hiking trails. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, the furniture was nice and two big screen tvs were great for watching the British Open.

We had a great time at this lovely property. The location is perfect and, while I'm sure it's also excellent in the winter for ski trips, it was so peaceful sitting outside in the summer. The house and hot tub were perfect for our group!

We had a great time. The house was comfortable and the area is beautiful! The only issues we had were a humming of the fan in the master bedroom upstairs, the door lock didn’t work for us (but the owners helped with this and all was well), and we had a hard time finding where to dump trash. The hot tub was wonderful, the wifi works great (we had one doing online school and one work), and all was just as the listing described. It was a great place to stay for a Liberty University graduation. If we ever need to come back to Virginia we would love to stay here again!

We had the most wonderful stay in the mountains. The entire house was very accommodating. My youngest especially loved having his own area in the loft. The hike off the property was great and the kids loved hanging down at the creek. The hot tub was especially nice after all the hiking we did. And the views…drinking coffee on the porch was the best. We will definitely book again in the future.

Our recent stay at this mountain house was the perfect retreat from the city. The house was ideal for my family of eight. The beds were super comfy, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of hiking. The kitchen is well-equipped, but the highlight was the tap water, which tasted better than fancy bottled water. We recommend visiting the Nature Foundation, which is 3 minutes away by car. There, you can learn more about the special features of that area. The host was responsive, thoughtful and accommodating. Had a great time at the house. The kids loved the loft and getting to have bunk beds downstairs. We enjoyed the mountain views each morning for breakfast and loved the short drive to the slopes. It didnt snow this time but having a flat driveway will sure be helpful when it does.

Our weeknd visit was fantastic. The property is very close to the resort. There was beyond ample room for my family to hang out. The loft was a big hit with the youngest. The beds were incredibly comfortable. (Even the kids said so!) And the hot tub was clean and fabulous in the chilly weather. The property was clean and I apprecated the instructions for check in and out being posted on both levels. Would stay again.

The location is lovely. The cabin is as advertised and was convenient to hiking, snow tubing, and breweries. There were 5 of us and it felt crowded at times in the main gathering space. There are a lot of heavily scented air fresheners that aggravated my allergies and the baseboards need a good scrubbing or fresh paint. Otherwise, it was a nice space.

As soon as walked in there was a terrible smell that we could not get rid of. Sliding glass door would not open and had a hole where lock should be, where anykind of small animal could crawl thru. Definitely not what was expected.

This was for a two night getaway for a bunch of guys and this house really did the trick. It has plenty of space, rooms and beds (including a fun little loft with a mattress. The hot tub was an excellent source of relaxation and fun. The trails right out back are a nice way to get moving and get the blood flowing and it’s proximity to all of the breweries/distilleries/wineries is top notch. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because the zip line that is featured in some of the photos doesn’t exist any longer for liability reasons (which we understand, but if that is the case can it be taken off of the listing?) Also, there is an odor when first entering the house. It lingered even after a solid day with all windows and doors open in an attempt to air it out.

Two couples stayed over July 4th. It was a short walk to the resort for bands and fireworks. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area and the hot tub. The trees make the location very private. We found everything we needed and our host, Scott, was easy to reach. It's a short drive to beer and cider breweries and to Lake Monocan. Overall a great weekend!

The house is in a nice quiet area and perfect location for going to the resort or down the mountain. The house was very clean, welcoming, and comfortable. The owner is also very responsive and was a pleasure to deal with. I definitely recommend this property if you’re looking for a place at Wintergreen.
