About this cabin rental
Charming Adirondack cabin perfect for romantic or family getaway! Gorgeous mountain views, private and cozy. Located on family compound of glamping tents and unique cabins. Wildflower meadows to wander, firepit for star gazing and just down the road from beautiful 13th Lake. Enjoy a hot tub experience in our new Japanese temple-like spa! Close to rail biking, whitewater rafting and the town of North Creek.
This adorable cabin offers beautiful mountains views, privacy and a unique space. Summers are wonderful with cool mountain breezes, swimming in the nearby 13th Lake, whitewater rafting in the Hudson River at the bottom of our hill and wildflower meadows to wander in. Fall is glorious with all the trees turning color.
LAYOUT: The living room is charming with antique beam ceiling, leaded glass windows and whimsical décor. The full kitchen offers everything you need to cook and dine in style with a bank of windows soaking in the south facing views of Gore Mountain. There is a nice bathroom with shower, a queen bed in the loft and a single bed in an alcove off the living room. Outside are tables by the firepit where you will find dry firewood and kindling, a grill and a wildflower meadow.
AMENITIES:
Enjoy a hot tub experience! Built within a beautiful Japanese temple-like structure on one of the most beautiful spots of our land, our all natural no-chemical hot tub is a delightful way to start your morning, relax after hiking or winding down after dinner. Available for a private experience for $25 for an hour of wonderful relaxation. Let us know if you would like to book.
We have a happy lab dog Sammy who enjoys spending time with our guests. We have free ranging chickens and sweet waddling ducks.
Most nights in the summer, we offer wood fired pizza. Here’s how it works. We make and provide the dough, and guests bring their own toppings. We fire up the wood-fired pizza in the late afternoon. By the time the wood fire has died down, the oven is about 800 degrees. From six-thirty to seven-thirty, guests come to the pizza pavilion with their toppings and we help them cook their pizzas. Because the oven is so hot, the pizzas cook in about three minutes. Lots of fun! Requested of donation of $8 ($5 for children) for firewood, dough and maintenance, please. We also have toppings if you don't wish to bring your own.
We are nearby the popular Revolution Rail for rail biking, and there are numerous whitewater rafting companies right at the bottom of our hill. We are an easy scenic drive up 87 from NYC. We’re five miles from the charming little town of North Creek, a half hour from Lake George and an hour and a half northwest of Albany.
Surrounded by meadows and gardens, located on family compound of historic cottages and four glamping tents, this beautiful property offers privacy, comfort and 40 acres of gorgeous land with walking trails.
If this listing is booked, take a look at Camp HudsonView, Bird Camp, Camp Lillian or Camp TwoSome, Camp Bossie or Camp Finale … each unique in its own way and spectacular views. We also have four glamping tents: Glamp Richard, Glamp Suzanne, Glamp Thomas and Glamp Bernice which are open from May to end of October.

The host at thos property is great. If you have a well behaved dog she has friendly doggies too. In summertime there is wood fired pizza - weather permitting - bring your own toppings.
Enjoy the nature and activities in the surrounding region.

The strongest comment I offer is I plan to return in October. Thank you for an OUTSTANDING "me time" experience.

This was one of the best places we have stayed. So welcoming and peaceful. They have a garden with vegetables as well as a “Workshop” with homemade soaps and essential oils. The free-range doggies quickly became part of our family, and besties with our 4-legged family member!! No TV in the cabin, which I loved! (Although the collection of VHS’s they had were probably the best made movies ever, and if we had a rainy day, may have located one!)

Amazing property and experience! Peaceful, beautiful, and easy access to hiking. North Creek had a grocery store and cute shops. The Hobby Farm cabins (I stayed in two different ones.) were both lovely and had everything I needed. I'll be back soon!

I was impressed by both the view of the Adirondack mountains from the kitchen table to wake up to each morning and the amenities at the property. Not only did we enjoy the amazing Japanese hot tub, but the friendly guard made us feel so safe! She even brought us a stick when we were making a bonfire. I was also surprised there was a clothes washing unit in the cabin, a charcoal grill, a fire pit which we really enjoyed, an oven under the stovetop, and many basic spices and dishes. The wifi was very good and might even be nice for a work-from-home getaway. The town of North Creek was also very close for getting good gas and groceries. I’d suggest for future renters to take a lantern to do bonfires at night and to make sure the group is ok with the small cemetery close by, although it would be perfect as well for a Halloween adventure. Overall we really enjoyed spending our time together at this cabin and it felt like a tiny house! For 2 people who’ve never stayed in a cabin before, it was very comfortable, and having other cabins, guard dog Bella, and Leslie on the property made us feel safe. I’d definitely stay here again!

Adorable style of cottages and out buildings on this pretty hobby farm above the Hudson River gorge. Rustic but comfortable and quiet. The Japanese style hot tub in it's private out building was a perfect remedy for a long day of hiking.

It’s evident the care that went into preserving this homestead. The pieces used in the farmstead cabin show the love of history. Sweet puppy Bella made us laugh, lovely Sammy reminded us of our old pup left at home.
Our only regret was not staying more than 1 night!
Our greeters were the 4 red hens who came and sat with us during our outdoor cocktails...

We used this place as our base of operations to explore the ADKs for 4 days. We enjoyed the location. The Farmstand was a neat, quaint, charming cabin. The weather was perfect. The nights were cool. We were visited by Sammy every morning and night. We also tried the Rev Rail, went to 13th lake, mined for garnet, climbed Whiteface Mt., took a steamboat cruise on Lake George, drove through the ADKs and stopped at random places to explore. The host was great and we loved our experience here. Also, HeyDays in North Creek - great place to grab a bite to eat.

Beautiful area, great stay!
My family of 4 had a wonderful stay in the Farmstand Cabin. This is a gorgeous area of the Adirondacks with tons to do nearby. Cabin had a VHS and lots of videos, a fun trip down memory lane. Pizzas were tasty and the owners were awesome and accommodating after the starter on our car broke and we needed to get a tow out on our last day. Really nice weekend getaway where things can slow down and become quiet. Stars at night were extraordinary.

Great getaway
My husband, dog and I rented this cabin for Fourth of July weekend. It was beautiful, tranquil, and very relaxing.
The only thing to note is there are other guests on the property, which I might have wanted to consider ahead of time since I wouldn’t want to bring my dog to someplace with other guests.
Otherwise, great experience!

Cabin needs attention
Walkways and drive were dangerously icy. Cabin was so poorly lit we couldn’t use the living room. However, the hot tub was delicious.

Magic Mountains
Like you were wandering in deep mountain forests then chanced upon a perfect little valley, and there is a cabin, with a view, and cozy beds, a kitchen well-stocked with cooking items and baking trays, and a hot tub spa that is beyond words. The owner has built a very special world here. You can even bring your Chihuahua.

More than a cute cottage
This is a truly bucolic place set with other amenities, on a hobby farm, with fruit trees, chickens, ducks, pizza, a spa. The farm is at about 1400 feet in a valley surrounded by mountains and quiet. Leslie supplies firewood for chilly nights and a fire pit. You wake up to quacking ducks. The area has numerous, terrific hiking trails. North Creek and Indian Lake are both villages with atmosphere, quirkiness and charm. We had a delightful five days. Couldn't have been nicer.

Comfortable and
We had a very comfortable stay at the Farmstead cottage at the North River Hobby Farm. My husband, son and I enjoyed the cottage and surroundings. We cooked a lot and also enjoyed pizza one night from the pizza oven. The kitchen is well-stocked. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the property - very relaxing. The hosts are friendly and accessible. My 6-year old son liked meeting the ducks on the property. We had the opportunity to take a rail-bike on the nearby Revolution Rail train tracks. I can see coming back with other people, as there are cottages and glamping tent sites on the property, which makes it an ideal place to have a group getaway.

Sister ski trip
This was a cozy cabin that met all our needs for a ski get away to Gore Mountain. The cabin was warm and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped with pots, pans and utensils - all we needed to make a nice dinner after skiing. Though we didn't meet the hosts, they were quick to reply to any question we had. We had a wonderful trip.

North Creek Holiday
We had a great stay, the area was beautiful and the accommodations were perfect. My daughter loved Sammy (the owners dog), he’s very friendly and will hang out with you. They’re chickens & ducks that roam the property also. All in all we had a fantastic time and I’d like to go again next year.

Beautiful Location, Nice People
The location was everything I'd imagined and then some.
The cabin was perfect, although the bed was a tad small for our needs. The kitchen was clean and has all the utensils you'll need. Loved the retro style!
The farm itself provided an idyllic setting for relaxation, with the sounds of the trees rustling in the wind gently putting you to sleep as you lounge in the patio chairs thoughtfully provided by Leslie and her family.
Our kids had loads of fun playing with the ducks, hens and Sammy (who's a good boy?!)
There's delicious pizza in the evenings made fresh by Leslie in the wood-burning oven.
History and beauty combine to provide the guest an unforgettable experience at the Hobby Farm. Recommend.

Home away from Home!
Leslie was very friendly and accommodating. Had her wood fired pizza one evening. It was a tasty special treat! Sammy was sweet and wonderful with our dog. Area is close to a charming town if you forget anything.. I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing time on the farm
We loved this place! Beautiful farm with amazing fruit trees, chicken and one lovely dog called Sami. My kids really fell in love with him. The 13th lake which is 5 min drive from the farm is a real gem.

I would definitively recommend the Glamping tents !!!
Our stay was too short to experience all what this hobby farm in Adirondack has to offer.
We enjoyed the Mountain View, the nature, the chicken around. Still to experience the hiking guide, pizza and the spa etc...,

What a lovely property!
I am so glad I came across Leslie's hobby farm. It was the vacation spot I didn't know I needed! We stayed in the Farmhouse. It had a full kitchen which was convenient. It was great to have indoor and outdoor meal options. There was also a nice little patio set where we would grill, have a bon fire, and relax. Speaking of relaxing... give the Spa a try! The area is nice and private. The views were amazing, and it was such a treat at the end of a long day. Also, make sure to swing by on pizza night...It was fun and super tasty. Also, get in some visits with Sammy the dog. He's great company.

Perfect place to relax with as little technology as possible
We came for my daughters 21st birthday, we had an amazing time and very much enjoyed the cottage, it was beautiful, rustic, Quaint and wishy washy and filled with yard sale treasures. I would not of changed a thing. The pizza was amazing and a great suggestion seen as it is in a remote area, we also has fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop. The hot tub was amazing and our trip was a great experience with memories we will treasure forever. I liked the fact that there was no big flat screen TV so I could enjoy and chat with my family and not be distracted by technology. Thank you

This charming small cottage is set on an idyllic farm in the Adirondacks. Near great hiking trails and a pristine lake for swimming, kayaking and canoeing. Loved everything about our stay.

Very cute cottage
This cabin is the ideal place for a small family to spend time skiing at Gore mountain or summering in the Adirondacks. It's very cute but only comfortably sleeps 3-4. There's a loft with a queen bed, a twin bed and a couch which is comfortable to sleep on. There's 1 bathroom and a kitchen. I went skiing with my son and nephew and it fit us fine. We enjoyed the proximity to Gore (about 10 minutes away), stayed warm with the wood burning stove and overall enjoyed our stay. Leslie is a great property owner and had the wood burning stove turned on for us.

Cold , dirty, and unliveable!
The worst stay ever!
We arrived to a broken sink with dirty dishes in it. The next day the sink was fixed but the dirty dishes remained. There was not adequate heat for the Adirondacks or anywhere for that matter. We woke up and the shack was barely 50 degrees. Owner advertised that it slept 5. Not even close! It sleeps 3. The couch looked like it had been taken from a crack den. The sheets were filthy and there dead bugs on the ledges of every window. We left a day early!
The owner did refund us for a night.
This experience makes me question reviews on VRBO. The ones I read were all good. Not sure how?? A truly terrible experience.
Place needs heat and major cleaning.
