Staying on this east side of the island, away from the busy west side, was very relaxing. We were all able to relax on the deck, watch the ocean, and soak in the Honduran mountains. The experience provided us with much needed down time. When we take vacations, it's the people that we remember the most. Mabel and Samantha made amazing meals while George made our kids laugh. They are all so accepting. Lastly, Jerri provided the quickest responses that I have ever experienced from a VRBO host. Roatan will not be forgotten.

This beautiful property is truly a special place. Our family of 11 had a safe and enjoyable experience leaving us all wanting to stay much longer than we had planned. The house is perfect in every way. We had all that we could ever want as far as amenities, with a big kitchen for cooking many large meals, comfortable beds, and views to soothe our souls. It was much more than we had expected, but with all that said, it was not what made our time extraordinary. We contribute that feeling to the people we met in this secluded corner of paradise. Jerri was helpful in every way while planning our time, answering all of my questions with much more information than I could ever expect. Her entire team made us feel at home from the minute we met them. Dave took care of us from the airport to Oakridge and back, along with our day trip around the island, Abrain made our Tikiboat and Mangrove Tour absolutely perfect, and the entire staff at The Reef House made us feel part of the family as they took me and my four kids scuba diving and we spent time with them next door. What can we say about Mabel and George, the heart and soul of our trip…we enjoyed every second we could with them. From Mabel’s wonderful cooking and infectious smile, to George’s helpful hands and happy demeanor at every turn, we learned about the area and the island culture from these perfectly chosen ambassadors and look forward to coming back to a place and people who have touched our hearts forever.

A group of 10 us has the most wonderful time here! Communication with Jerri was the best I’ve ever had with any host both before and during the trip. Mabel and George, the house managers, were able to accommodate our every need and were always available. Mabel made dinner one night too and it was the best meal we had the whole time we were there! The ac worked great in the rooms and the kitchen was well-stocked. I can’t say enough good things about this beautiful property - we’ll be back!

We had a wonderful time in Roatan. Jerri was very responsive and helpful with communication. Mabel and George were very helpful during the stay with setting up transportation, checking in during the stay and giving recommendations. We will definitely go back. I wish we would have booked our stay longer there. We brought snorkeling gear with us, which was awesome to use in the beautiful water to watch fish and seashells. Roatan was the highlight of our Honduran Adventure.

Discovering this hidden tropical paradise in Roatán was nothing short of a dream come true. From the moment we set foot on this enchanting island, we were greeted by a mesmerizing blend of lush greenery, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and the warmest hospitality via George, Mabel and Samantha, that made our stay an unforgettable experience.
The secluded nature of this tropical haven offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the cruise ships of the West End. It felt like stumbling upon a secret slice of paradise.
The accommodations were nothing short of amazing, seamlessly blending with the natural beauty that surrounded us. Our villa offered breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean, providing the perfect backdrop for both sunrise and sunset. The attention to detail in the design and amenities showcased a commitment to guest comfort that exceeded our expectations.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the friendly and attentive staff. Their genuine warmth and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel not just like guests, but like cherished friends. Whether it was arranging unique excursions, recommending local dining gems, or simply ensuring our comfort, the staff's dedication to hospitality was truly commendable.
Our stay was nothing short of magical, and we left with hearts full of gratitude for the memories created in this tropical paradise. We can't wait to return to this hidden slice of heaven.

Wow! Where to start! This house was clean, well maintained and clearly loved by the caretakers and locals!
The communication with the property owner was excellent, she was prompt and knowledgeable. The staff was INCREDIBLE! From our driver (Dave) to our personal caretaker (George) and the other impressive staff (Courtney and Miss Dottie) - they made the whole experience! We had no idea what to expect but the whole process was SEAMLESS! From our car transport, to the grocery store, to the boat transport and unpacking! They were all there with smiles!
The Reef House next door is perfect! The food is great, the drinks are awesome and their staff and owners goes above and beyond!
This was our group of 6’s first time to Honduras and we had no idea what to expect! This East side house was perfect for everything we wanted! We went fishing, did a tiki tour, bar hopped around the keys and so much more. WE WILL BE BACK! Couldn’t be more impressed with the whole process!

The house is tucked away with terrific views and snorkeling right off the porch! Mabel and George, along with Dottie and Sammie took excellent care of us (absolutely worth hiring them!). There was plenty to do and see. (We would advise, doing one shopping trip for specific items like a special wine and otherwise leave it to Mabel. We would also advise staying in West End for a night or two if your group requires more instant entertainment and then spend the rest of the time at Jerri's relaxing. We were content to relax and there are excursions in Oak Ridge.) Overall, a great trip; we're hoping to get back!

We had the best time. Quiet, great staff. Wonderful cooking by Mabel & Sammie. George took us on the boat whenever we wanted. Snorkeling great. We highly recommend this location. Away from hustle & bustle of West End! Would go back. Thank you to all who took care of us.

My 85 year old mother and I had a wonderful time staying in Roatan. The home was beautiful and comfortable. The views were spectacular and we were taken care of like family. There was so much to do and so much to see, however, we were still able to live the Island Life and relax and enjoy out time there. Kudos and thank you to George, Courtney, and Abrian for making our trip one to remember!

This was my second time staying here and it never disappoints! The staff and host are so kind and helpful and always eager to improve your stay in any way they can. The property is super comfortable, clean and spacious and you couldn’t ask for a better location. The view of the ocean from the porch is stunning and it’s so nice to be able to just walk a few feet to the water whenever you want. One of the best parts is that you’re right on the reef so you get to see all types of aquatic animals. This has become one of my favorite places to stay my whole family loves it because it offers something for everyone. Can’t wait to stay here again!

We had the most amazing 5mo. on this property. I just can’t say enough good things. Mabel the house manager took care of our every need. She cared for us like family. Courtney & Abrian helped us so much it was amazing. We now call them friends. The house is literally on the reef. Snorkeling & scuba diving right out the door. The waves crashing at night lulled us to sleep. The kitchen came with everything you needed. The furniture was comfortable and the air conditioners in the bedrooms were awesome.
George our handyman / captain helped us with all our needs and kept the property looking nice. We made lasting friendships in an amazing location.
A real bonus was having The Reef House Resort next door. When you want food and fun it’s right next door.
Our Host was amazing. Any issues that came up were dealt with promptly and very easy to work with.
We were there 5mo and we did not want to leave. We felt like the community wrapped their arms around us and welcomed us with love!!
The ocean breezes were perfect.
The sea pool in front was amazing. We saw octopus & all kinds of creatures.
The best winter abroad we have ever had.

Wonderful week!
We just returned from a fantastic week! The location, house, people, diving, snorkeling and other excursions were all wonderful. The house is exactly as described. George the caretaker was always around to answer questions and boat us to the mainland or wherever we wanted to go. He was extremely nice. Mabel also offered her services as needed. Security made his rounds after dark just to check in. The tour guides and reef house resort next door recommended by Jerri were all wonderful. We could not have asked for a better week!
If you read the reviews and come across the "unsafe" review please do not let that review make you second guess staying here. If you like local vibes, areas that are less crowded than the "touristy area" (west end), enjoy meeting the locals and immersing yourself into the community and culture, then this is the place for you. If you like resort amenities, easy access to everything, and other cultures and/or ways of life make you apprehensive or feel "unsafe" then this is not the place for you. The descriptions are honest so there should be no surprises when you arrive.
We cannot wait to visit again soon! Thank you for sharing your home.

The staff felt like family and the house was in paradise
We are avid snorkelers so the water is our kryptonite. My family has traveled to many places in other countries and never experienced anything like this home in Roatan. The island itself is magical and the people are extremely nice and welcoming. This house is right on the water where you never see another person. There are giant crabs and tons of other beautiful fish. Sitting on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine, listening to the waves, and just watching the sunset was exactly the recharge we needed. However, the staff truly brought this property into an entirely new vacation realm for us. Any questions or issues were addressed immediately and our happiness and well-being were definitely a high priority. George was constantly available for any of our needs and smiled the entire time. Mabel and Gina made such great food - if there were room in my suitcase they would now be living with me! Abrian was on top of everything AND took us out on his tiki to visit the turtle sanctuary and mangrove tour for a day that was memorable for everyone. Our family has talked non-stop since we got home about returning to this house in paradise. I can't thank you all enough for helping create such a magical experience for us!

Family getaway
Really enjoyed the property, location, snorkely right off the backyard, and the owners wonderful suggestion for a cook - we enjoyed an amazing dinner, and access to Island Vibe Adventures- the Tiki cruise and Mangrove tour really made the trip. Having access to the restaurant/bar next door at the Reef House and opportunity to dive was super. We love the East End.

Wonderful remote location
We couldn’t have had a better stay. George, our caretaker, was prompt to fulfill every request and need, always worth a big, friendly smile on his face. The house was spacious and lovely. Dave, our driver, took us anywhere we needed to go.
We felt safe at all times.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in paradise.

The stunning view
We were so pleased with our rental our friends had stayed here before and told us how special this home was but you have to experience it to understand.
You arrive by boat and then once you walk around to the other side of the home you are blown away with the view, the sea pool and the wildlife.
The location next door to the Reef House Resort is so helpful for a meal or a drink in the evening.
We will return

Condensing 2 Months in 2 Paragraphs
Well, I'm not even sure how to begin this post. How do you convey how special our time was at the house? We stayed for 2 months. We worked, played, and relaxed. We found community, rest and restoration. George (the caretaker) became a special part of our family. He was able to take us to see the mangroves, fish, snorkel, lobster, and more. We felt very safe in the house and on the Cay. Our boys aged 10, 11, and 14 made some great friends as well. We also saw a few octopus and other night time creatures using a good flashlight. We could snorkel off the pier on calm days and that was spectacular. The Reef House Hotel next door is also a great place to go to for lunch or a drink and use their pool. Jerri (the owner) has a good amount of people looking out for you and she is available as well to answer questions. We plan to come back.
Just to note:
The house is not in a touristy area. It will take about an hour to get to the West End area. We only went there a few times and felt like you could see all you wanted to do down there in one or two days. I zoomed a fitness class 3 days a week and had trouble only a few times with the internet connection. We did bring a WIFI extender, that helped get signal to the back bedrooms. The main part of the house does not have AC, but there was a good breeze most days. Also, there maybe a lot of flies in the kitchen on no wind days, it's just part of island life. The beds are very comfortable. We had the house cleaned once a week and most of the time they did our laundry as well and it was $40. The house was perfect for what we wanted to accomplish.

A very unsafe area, for tourists!
If you live in the United States, or Europa and you travel with your family to Roatan, I do not recommend this area of the island, very unsafe, it is far from the mainland, and believe it, nobody is responsible for what happens to you
The owners of The property was good , always trying to solve the problems that we face in their property, we have nothing to say about it.
But since they live in the United States, they have no idea what is happening there
Obvious The owners of this property's normally they know that tourists are the ones who keep the business going.
We had some very unpleasant experiences and they were in contact with us at all times,
The housekeeper Gina and family are very nice. But nice does not fix the problems that exist in that property
If you are used to a glamorous life, believe it in this area of the island you will have an unpleasant experience,
we visit the super market in that region and God ... terrible, you have to travel by car 40 minutes to get healthy food, because you cannot buy anything in that local supermarket.
And not counting that you have to travel by boat to leave the house, since that is the only way
I have to say that are driver was Unwell and that complicated things for us.
we had to seek help elsewhere to get home, because of this unpleasant experience,
Basically My family and I will not going to Exposed to something like this anymore If we decide to go to Roatan again we would stay in A resort.

Once again - a great place
Once again the property met our needs. Love the location of this property. Can't beat the view. Having to take a boat taxi makes it charming, relaxing and fun. Saw the Mangroves-stunning. Owner is easy to reach if anything is needed. Live-on-site property host helps too.
Hope to make it a third time.

Mission complete !
We were blessed to stay in this property. It had a cozy feeling of home with a fantastic view from the front porch. The setting for our mission group was perfect. We had a space to meet and everyone had plenty of space to have alone time. We hired a cook and she had everything she needed to prepare amazing meals for the week. The snorkeling was fantastic even during a storm. Everyone in the small community was very nice and respectful. We will return soon, but not soon enough.

Dive and snorkel from the front porch.
We were impressed with how well we were taken care of all week. Our driver Dave was excellent and affordable. The local spear fishing guide was a real treat. He swam like a fish and could dive like one too! Our two sons were certified next door and we dove for the first time together in clear water with a fun guide along some fantastic coral reefs and walls. The best was George, the property manager. He was always there with a smile and his dog Fanny , ready to lend a helping hand. Some new deck furniture is needed but, that is all we could really complain about. Calm and sunny most days in this small.not of paradise.

An amazing place on an island of beautiful people
The people of Oak Ridge Caye are kind, helpful and made our experience one that will never be forgotten. I brought my two grandchildren who played with the local children. I never felt worried about their safety once. Everywhere you went people were friendly and conversations abundant. George, the caretaker, was always there to help and offer advice about things to do or just about island life in general. The employees of the Reef house next door were fun to be around also.
The house was comfortable, with an open space kitchen, dining room and living room. The front porch was a great place to sit and watch sunrises and sunsets. The water lulled us to sleep at night.
The location of the house in respect to the reef could not have been better. As soon as you stepped down off the pier the reef was there to the right and left and the wall was very close too. The coral was healthy and the fish were plenty.
My grandchildren and my friends would go back again in a flash!! Thank you for a great experience!!

Just WOW!
We stayed here with our extended family (13 of us in all) for a week and loved every minute of every day! The property is not in the crowded, touristy part of the islands and so is much quieter and more relaxing with the spectacular ocean views. The kitchen is stocked with all of the necessary implements and you can bring your own food to make meals or Gina is available to prepare your meals for you. Transportation to/from the West end and the airport was handled by Dave. Additionally, there is a super friendly and helpful on-site care-taker (George) who is available to help you with everything from shuttling you to and from nearby stores to coordinating taxi services on the larger island. All of our essential needs have been thought of. I wouldn't change anything about this property or our experience there!

Peace in Paradise
This was our second time renting the little White House on the reef. We loved it so much that we came back and brought 13 friends including the 3 in my family. We took the front house and all the rooms in the back house. We were surprised that there were even some upgrades since our trip the year before, new stove, fridge( maybe not new but working great), a cold water 5 gallon bottle dispenser , air conditioner in the master bedroom. The Diving was amazing and the Reef House next door made it easy to get our Dive On! We had some members that did boat dives with the reef house everyday and others who went right off the reef at the end of the dock. Everyone really enjoyed the house and especially loved the natural salt water pool out front. There was so much life at night that came out! Enjoyed seeing some old friends like the little dog Fanna out back and Angelina from a few door down, the whole reefhouse crew and George our caretaker. Other than a rain shower here and there it was a great trip and to return again. If you really want to get away from it all, this is perfect. The house has everything you could possibly need. Thanks again Jerri for sharing your wonderful home with us!!

Great place to stay
We just returned from Roatan on Sunday 2/25/2018. Our stay at Oakridge reef house was pretty amazing. We loved the beautiful setting right on the reef. George the caretaker was totally awesome. He taught us handfishing, took us to the store several times, filled water bottles, and arranged all our transports through driver Dave. George even found a calm snorkeling place for us because it was too windy most of our stay to snorkel out front of the house. Gina and her daughter cooked two delicious meals for us and got us some fruits and vegetables from a local truck. Nighttime was really special as we searched for and held baby octopi and other sea creatures from the front pools. The only negative we found was the distance the house was from most other activities and we spent several hundreds on renting a car and driver which we totally recommend over driving yourselves. The roads are pretty bad. This house was great and I fell I need love with Oakridge.

Wgreatest vacation ever!
This property is in the best location and it’s backyard has a pool (the ocean) with tons of beautiful sea life. The staff there is freaking amazing especially our helper George who constantly helped us get around and even rescued us when our boat ran out of gas. Jerry knows all the right people too. I got addicted to spear fishing while I was there and Jerry knows the perfect guy to show you the best locations. The house is also extremely cozy and makes even the days you stay in (if you choose too) totally worth it. When I go back i will stay here again!

Wonderful week!!!
We had a family of 16 stay in both houses. We loved the two properties and George was extremely helpful. He brought us water whenever we requested it. He was available with his boat to take us back and forth to get things we needed from the grocery store. The property is very clean and the waterfront is amazing!!! We could snorkel right out front and it was the best snorkeling we have experienced. We had two different kinds of eels in the pool in front along with lion fish and other small fish. We were able to walk next door to the Reef House Resort and have drinks whenever we wanted and also use their pool. The only recommendations I would give is that the washing machine did not work and there isn't a dryer. Because of this we had to use the same towels all week. I also think there needs to be more beach towels. There weren't enough for all 16 of us. The beds in the main house are very comfortable but the beds in the other house are quite uncomfortable. They might benefit from a memory foam topper on them. Despite these minor things we would definitely go back! The views were so breathtaking and it was so relaxing. Thanks so much for a great week!!!!!!

It was clean and nice
Jorge is super nice and helped with everything. He had dinner and breakfast with us a few times. The house is clean. Only thing I really will have to complain is the fridge not working. Doesn't cool or freeze a thing! I would really recommend to have it replace! The area is calm and have to be prepare to have to go in town for everything

Well appointed rustic throwback!
Picture what it would be like to go back to the seventies & experience a true island experience. The home & guest house would be state of the art back then and still hold up well to today's standards. The people of the area and the island in general are genuinely happy you're there & very accommodating. The house has everything you'll need for playing in the sun, I found the best snorkel gear I've ever used in the tackle room. You can fish snorkel or dive in more places than you can get to & there are dozens of other activities nearby - or just relax in the ocean pool right in front of the porch. What an amazing, authentic experience!

A Divers Paradise. True getaway.
We loved it here. If you want a place off the beaten path to truly relax and enjoy, this is the place. As divers it was a paradise. Diving right in your front yard to an amazing wall full of life and coral formations. A dive shop right next door at the Reef House that also provided boat dives to other sights. It was fun to socialize there and enjoy a drink or meal. Davey the owner was great. The house itself is set up great. All bedrooms have air conditioners and the beds were comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and then there is George. However we suggest freezing your meat till you use it. The owner arranged to have us met by a cab that managed to get the six of us, all 15 pieces of luggage and a stop at the grocery store where we stocked up for the week, in it. We met George at the pier who transported all of us and our things to the Cay which is really close to the house. George took care of everything including a quick trip to the pharmacy, to filling bottled water and a personal tour of the area and mangroves. Just let him know what you need and he'll help you. We ate all our meals on the porch, and having a washer and dryer were awesome. There is a " natural saltwater pool" out front that we enjoyed daily. We saw a moray eel, barracuda, trumpetfish, lion fish and more right there! Also watching the parrotfish each morning dance in the surf as they went for crabs was amazing. And if you love animals pack some doggie treats for Anna who lives behind the house, she's a sweetheart. We hated to leave yesterday, but We hope to go back. We rented just the main house, but with rooms in back all with their own bathrooms 20 people can be accommodated. We actually had Philippe Cousteau Jr and his group stay there a couple nights while in Oakridge filming a documentary. Plenty of books to read and games to play at night. Everything went as planned from airport pick up to drop off, just as Jerri has promised. Thank you for letting us use your little piece of paradise. So missing that view today.

Nice Place To Unwind
My wife and I stayed 7 nights at the home over the Valentines Day week. We found it to be very comfortable with great nightly breezes. We used the air conditioning but probably would have been perfectly comfortable without it. The house was very clean and well equipped with everything you would need to cook. We hired a cook for the week which was awesome! However, I would only have her cook 2 meals a day instead of 3 just to keep from eating way to much and to increase privacy. $100 worth of crab, lobster, and fish caught by a local guy the day we arrived kept us in nice dinners all week. We stopped into one of the grocery stores for other food on our way to the home on arrival day. I was presently surprised how nice it was. They take American dollars and credit cards there. I can't recall the name but there are 2 of them on the island.
We ate all of the meals, had morning coffee, and of course consumed adult beverages out on the porch. The view and breezes were wonderful. I think we could've just lived in that part of the house.
There were very few bugs during our stay. No matter where we went. A huge plus.
The reef out front, just past the end of the pier was fantastic! No boat necessary. Just hop off the end of the pier and you can explore all the reef you want. The reef wall drops off to about 600 feet of water which is pretty amazing for only a couple hundred feet from the house.
The pond in front of the house was full of life. We saw a barracuda, conch, snapper, a flounder, parrot fish, lion fish, and a blue octopus that came out every night. You could literally jump on top of them from the house patio. Bring a flashlight to see the night creatures.
The dive shop next door, The Reef House, was a very cool little spot. We would walk over after dinner and have a beer from there bar and play dominos with the owner and some of the staff. It was a great place to get a little social activity if you wanted it. They are super friendly over there.
We did manage to see some other parts of Roatan. The island is a beautiful place with all kinds of great views of the ocean and reef system.
Can't wait to go back to see more of it.

Beautiful view and home feeling
3 weeks goes fast when it feels like you're home ! Everything you need to make your stay fun and peaceful. The reef house is right there for the diving, snorkeling, having a few beers or even a meal. The house is on the perfect spot for amazing sunrise, kitchen fully equipped and all commodities. Cable for the TV's is not working properly but still watchable (wish it would have been better for the kids though). Make sure you have enough Lempira to buy your own water and toilet paper (that one, i still don't understand !!! ) Apparently, only the first bottle and rolls are included!??
None the less, it was a great rental for the whole family and George "the care taker payaso" will do his best to help you out with any needs ;-)

Life on the reef
Our week at this beautiful place was so restful! It was a joy to be there with the constant surf outside the deck, you have your own personal natural swimming area steps from the door.
This home is off the grid but well appointed! The kitchen has everything you need to cook lucious red snapper, lobster, and crab,, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay fabulous from the pick up from the airport to the grocery stop to the short boat ride to the house. The reef house diving center is next door with the option to enjoy fellow travelers or their meals. Be sure to get some cafe oro coffee- fantastic!. Love this place!
