About this house rental
Unique, historic and recently remodeled A-frame home in Uptown Sedona is within walking distance to shops, trails, restaurants and more! This classic family cabin offers expansive views from the entire wall of windows in the vaulted central/main room as well as a panoramic landscape of the red rocks of f the generously sized deck facing the national forest.
Our off-site manager Leila, a long-time local, and her dedicated team of assistants are happy to assist with any questions, guidance or plans before or during your stay at Quail Tail.
The neighborhood is off Jordan Road and nestled at the end of a cul-de-sac with two other homes. We are situated at the end and are surrounded by and back to the national forest land on several sides.
The home is completely yours during your stay for your use and enjoyment.
Please note the home has stairs and a railing leading to the loft and sitting area upstairs - we do provide baby gates for your use.
An open, airy design lends to the sense of spaciousness inside the home and the location provides close proximity to town and yet feels far enough away to enjoy quiet seclusion, sunrise, sunset and star gazing while being near nature and the towering red rocks right outside your door.
The Hartman Cabin, as it is affectionately known, has been hosting family, friends and artists for over 50 years. Originally built by Dr. Hartman and Mrs. Hartman as a getaway from their home in Phoenix, it is decorated throughout with various artifacts and authentic, original artwork of the Southwest.
The family is thrilled to offer this special place to both visitors and guests, and the Hartman family invites you and yours to stay, play and relax.
Experience the warmth and share in the finest hospitality the Southwest and Sedona has to offer.
Walking is easily manageable from the home and very safe in our neighborhood area while located just minutes from Uptown Sedona via sidewalks off Jordan Road. For anything beyond Uptown, a car is recommended.
You will find everything is within a 6-8 miles - the village of Oak Creek, West Sedona, Lower Red Rock Loop Road/Upper Red Rock Loop Road and of course, the beautifully winding canyon/creek drive up 89A towards Flagstaff.
We also highly recommend the drive through the lush riparian area of Page Springs which leads to several or our most popular wineries.

Such a cute chalet-like home with just the right amount of space for the 5 of us. Super clean, comfy beds, nice bedding and great upstairs rain shower. 10 minute walk to town .a just take your phone flashlight if you walk at night since the roads to the house do not have streetlights or sidewalks. The dark skies community allow for fantastic star gazing. We loved it!

The location is close to downtown Sedona but removed from the hustle and bustle. Everything we needed was there and we were very comfortable. The views from the deck were fantastic and we had a mule deer buck feeding just outside the kitchen window one morning. We also heard the coyotes calling throughout the valley below every evening. It was an awesome stay and we hope to return.

We stayed at this cabin for 7 nights and had wonderful time. Our group consisted of 2 retired couples and one 28-year-old. The cabin was large enough to accomodate all of us and had all the amenities we needed. WI-fi was good and laundry was nice to have. The cabin is close enough to walk to down town for food etc. yet still private and quiet. A good choice as a base to explore Sedona and do some hikes. Highly recommend hiking West Fork of Oak Creek. Avoid Devil's Bridge - too many crowds and just not worth the hike. Also recommend visiting Jerome, especially Nellie Bly. Leila was responsive and helpful.

Built in 1972, this is one of the few A-frames you will see in the area, giving it a chalet feel. The vaulted ceiling in the living area made the home feel spacious yet cozy. The floor to ceiling windows framed a spectacular landscape of primordial rock formations that you will never tire of ogling. The deck out back is strategically located facing east. The mornings being cool and in the sun and evenings being warm but in the shade was brilliant. Stargazing became our favorite pastime. We were able to walk into town in less than 10 minutes most days. We considered it an easy walk. Our crew included two couples and a grandson. It was the perfect home base. Leila was responsive and easy to deal with. I highly recommend.

We’ll be back!

Located just in the edge of town. Could walk into town if you wanted, but we typically drove. It is located in a great area to access the hikes that we wanted. Great deck with beautiful views. Well supplied kitchen. Great communication with host.

We stayed for a week in early March. The property is super clean and the kitchen has everything needed. The furniture is in great condition. The view from every room and the deck is outstanding, surrounded by red rock heights. Four adults had plenty of space. The temperature dropped to the low 30's at night and there was plenty of heat. Sun poured in from the expansive windows. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in this besutiful home.

I along with 3 friends were celebrating our 60th birthday. From the moment we arrived we were in love with both the home & surroundings. We were greeted by a family of javelinas which only added to the experience. The house was clean & had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A beautiful view from every window but nothing was as wonderful as sitting on the deck with the intoxicating view..truly stunning. House was close enough to walk to town & close by many fabulous trails. We are already planning a return trip.

This home has plenty of room and lots of cultural charm! Very cozy and well appointed! The back deck was perfect for coffee on a cool morning. Very private and just around the corner (walkable) to uptown. We traveled to Jerome as well as the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Everything we needed was only moments away. It was wonderful to come back after an excursion and truly relax here!

The place was exactly as described. Super location convenient to uptown Sedona and very close to hiking and recreation all around us. We loved the privacy of the home. It was a perfect place to stay for our family. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. The early morning sunrise on the large deck with the million dollar view were exceptional. The split of upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms worked really well for our family and friends to have privacy when needed or group fun and meals in the common area. The house was well equipped and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The location was great as it was walking distance to uptown Sedona and the Historical Museum, restaurants, brewery and local shops. Great location for heading to the Grand Canyon, Flagstaff or staying in Sedona. Highly recommend this property.

An amazing experience all around. First off a couple of weeks before our trip Leila sent us a ton of info on things to do in Sedona. The cabin is in the perfect location. Walking distance to downtown Sedona but pushed back enough with AMAZING views. Of course the deck was our favorite spot to be when we weren’t out exploring. I cleaned and filled their hummingbird feeder and we were blessed with many happy hummies. The cabin is fully stocked with everything you could need. We cooked in a few nights and didn’t lack for anything. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash for the showers. Leila checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and to see if we were enjoying our stay. Seriously one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. We will be back because we didn’t even scratch the surface of all we wanted to do. And hoping that the Hartman Cabin will be available when we plan it. Thank you again Lelia for everything.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time hiking, biking, and relaxing in Sedona, and this house was the perfect home base for our family of five. We luxuriated in the beautiful views of the red rocks from the back porch. The rental is well taken care of and well stocked and we felt lucky to be there every day. Thank you!!

Property location is amazing. Very quiet neighborhood with the cabin at the end of the road. The house is clean and communication was excellent. They had all that we needed for our stay. We were not at the house a lot, as we hiked all over the place. Really appreciated the kindness and attentiveness.

So very glad we found this place. The views are as good as any place in Sedona and way better than most. An added bonus is the short walk to town. Simply couldn't have asked for more!

Do not hesitate to plan your stay here! Completely comfortable house, nothing left to wish for or think of with the accommodations. We never even turned on the TV but spent every waking minute on the back porch with the views and birds and wildlife. Leila was fabulous and if we would have needed anything she would have made it happen. We're from the east coast and i can't imagine better than this home in Sedona!

Excellent location. Walkable to town and yet at the end of a cul-de-sac, with the backyard wide-open with no obstructions to the rocks and mountains. You can hike down to the stream and follow it to the Mormon Canyon and Oak Creak. The entire backwall are windows, facing east and the morning sun. We had a great time in Sedona and will be coming back.

Great location. Amazing views. Had a comfortable and fabulous time in this private oasis in the desert.

We loved our stay at Quail Tail Trail. The house was comfortable, clean, in good working condition. The appliances are high end. The best part is the deck with the fabulous views. The pictures do not convey how great the views are. We spent all of our home time on the deck. There are no close neighbors obstructing the views. The deck furniture was comfortable and there was enough seating to spread out. It was a comfortable walk to Uptown, passing several restaurants on the way. I highly recommend staying here.

Best of both worlds in Sedona. A secluded house, quiet with beautiful views but walking distance to town. House has everything you need and I recommend star watching from the deck at night.

Even before we left for the trip, the property manager was very efficient in answering any questions that we may have. Once we arrived, everything about this house was perfect! We arrived around 8:30 PM, So it was dark out when we got there. The keyless lock was quite easy to use. Once inside, the house was clean, everything felt very comfortable and cozy. The kids picked out the rooms, and we settled in for the night. We were so excited to see the view from the deck, that we woke up at 5 in the morning just to watch the sunrise. We were amazed at what we saw! Pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful! We spent many mornings out there just taking in the views and enjoying the quiet. What better way to start the day than with a beautiful view like that some quiet time and coffee! We picked this house in particular for the view, and we were not disappointed. We really appreciated the" little" things that were in the house. Blankets that we could use to cover up with in the mornings while watching the sunrise, snacks on the table, Tide Pods in the laundry room, dishwasher pods... the little things you wouldn't think about really made it feel like home. The house was nicely decorated with antiques, old books, and local decor. It felt very comfortable . We enjoyed the sights around Sedona, took a train ride into the Grand Canyon, and went to Bearizona and Route 66. This was a great family vacation and a great way for us to celebrate our 18-year anniversary. We would definitely come back to this house!

We had an amazing time here. The view was absolutely incredible! The house was very clean and furnished nicely. I was very pleased with the thoughtful amenities that were provided - more than most. It is obvious that the owners/managers care about your comfort during your stay. We had some rainy days so we were able to sit in the living room and watch the storms roll in over the beautiful mountains through the amazing windows while we also watched the Olympics. The cable worked great and we were able to pass our time while waiting for it to dry up. We are looking forward to another trip to Sedona and will plan to stay here again!

What an incredible property located within walking distance of Uptown Sedona! The view from the back porch was amazing and the home was well stocked. The upstairs loft does remain hotter than the rest of the home, but having the a/c unit in the upstairs bedroom and having the fan helped cool down to a pleasant temperature. The extra touches were appreciated and definitely one of our favorite VRBOs!!!

My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at this property. The description was accurate and check-in was very simple. The cabin is in a great spot with unrivaled views. Inside, it was very comfortable and well equipped. Definitely good price for value.
I'm rating it 4* vs 5* for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the upstairs AC unit was quite old and extremely loud - I appreciate that we stayed in the height of summer and thus it had a lot of work to do, but we were unable to sleep there. Fortunately, we had an extra room for the remainder of the stay. I would kindly suggest an upgrade.
Secondly, the Cable TV kept cutting out - this may be unavoidable due to the location but some DVDs on hand for the kids would have been a nice fallback.
Finally, I read all property reviews when selecting a property. Your reviews are excellent and deserved, but you have received about five 4* or 3* reviews over the last couple of years. On your response to the most recent 4* reviews, you have stated on at least 2 of them that 'this is the only time you have received less than a 5* review'. This is not true - please know that VRBO guests value transparency.
