Beautiful apartment set in a beautiful garden. I felt completely at home and I walked to the beach several times a day. I really enjoyed my stay and will be going back. The owners were very gracious and made every part of my stay seamless.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful, private and serene setting right by the beach.
Cheri and Scott made us feel very welcome, everything we thought we might need was already there.
Highly recommended.

Staying in Kailua? This is a top location, quiet, secluded, near the beach, market and restaurant. Best place I have stayed in all my years of going to Hawaii . Super hosts

Scott and Cheri are excellent hosts who have created a lovely, quiet, comfortable, tropical oasis which includes many thoughtful extras. Check-in was a breeze, and the owners live on the property and are readily available for any questions or assistance. We stayed for a month and are hoping to return soon, loved this place. Even on rainy days, the large windows allow you to enjoy the lush landscaping, tropical air, and beautiful furnishings, and to watch the many birds that come to visit and bathe in the birdbath. Right by the beach and many conveniences, yet completely quiet and private. Inside and out, this is a beautiful property in a location that’s hard to beat.

Perfect stay on the windward side
This property is a dream. The pictures are completely representitive of Cheri and Scott's beautiful home. The indoor and outdoor space is perfectly curated, private, and a wonderful home base for a relaxing Oahu vacation. The hosts strike a perfect balance of being generous and friendly and giving you space to feel like you have your own private piece of Hawaii. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful and cozy
This property was located in a fantastic area. While the bungalow was small it was comfortable and clean and filled with all the amenities you would need. I would highly recommend staying here as long as you don't mind staying in close quarters with your partner.

Our Favorite Spot
It is a magic spot in Kailua. Even with wind and rain, it is protected and with the umbrella, it still easy to enjoy the out of doors. Cheri and Scott are perfect hosts. They ensure that we have what we need to have a great stay.

This was the perfect bungalow in an ideal location with the most generous hosts we have encountered. They welcomed us early and had champagne and fresh fruit waiting for us ( we were celebrating an anniversary). Scott showed us around the lush tropical property that backs up right to the Kailua beach park. They gave us recommendations for where to eat, hike and snorkel. We had the convenience of a small kitchen with every appliance we could need and then some. We were able to use their washer and dryer, which was great considering all of the hiking we did! They supplied chairs, towels and mats for the beach so we didn’t have to pack or purchase them bulky items. Scott and Cheri were wonderful hosts and we can’t wait to go back!

My wife and I go almost every year to Kailua/Lanikai for a nice break from winter doldrums. We have stayed in places both large and small depending upon # of people coming with us. This year was just the two of us and we decided to pick Cheri and Scott's 1 BR bungalow that is within VERY easy walking/strolling distance to the beach. The place was lovely for two adults with a small kitchen and a small couch area off to the side separate from the bedroom. One of the best parts of the bungalow is the living room that looked out on a beautiful garden with the sounds of a fountain nearby. It was a space Cheri and Scott had personally nurtured and had become this amazing garden. It was amazingly peaceful and my wife and I settled in for 10 days. We woke up late, lounged around a lot if it sprinkled, walked and hiked in nearby hills and on the beaches when it was sunny and made sure to be lounge lizards on the beach as often as possible. They had all the amenities: beach towels, mats, beach chairs, water bottles - perfect. This is a real Hawaiian atmosphere without all the stuffiness. The landscaping is gorgeous. Cheri and Scott were kind enough to invite us up for a drink and wander around their gardens, which we enjoyed immensely. This is NOT a Ritz-Carlton Hotel vacation -- it IS a wonderfully relaxing vacation with the atmosphere you always hope to get when you go to the islands. You really feel like a local. In fact, we spent many a night wrapping ourselves up in a blanket on the couch reading a great book after having gone to the local Foodland for amazing poke and local fruit and vegetables. You couldn't have asked for a better meal. However, one of the most unexpected outcomes of this vacation -- besides being really relaxed afterward, was the friendship we made with Cheri & Scott -- what amazing individuals and hosts. Sometimes you get really lucky with your private home vacations and this was definitely one of them. As you may guess from our commentary, we will be coming back.

Most beautiful oasis with the greatest and most caring hosts you can imagine
Cheri and Scott were the most amazing hosts for my parents again who are both in their 70’s. Genuinely caring and attentive to their needs. Could not ask for a better place for them.

True Hawaiian Experience!!
Aloha Pumehana Cheri and Scott - I was born at a hospital in the Punahu area of Oahu and raised in a Kailua in Kainalu Road - went to Kainalu School, Kailua Intermediate, Kamehameha School and graduated from ailua High School Class of 1968. This is the first reunion I attended ( now 68 years old and my home is on the Big Island in Volcano Village) I can assure any potential guests that this home and surroundings capture the essence of the REAL Hawaii . From the ALOHA shown to us as we approached - both of you bearing a cold niu (coconut) water in beautiful glasses to the introduction and embrace of the property. My dreams of living on the sands of my birthplace became REALITY - Each and everyone of you that read these comments please allow this place to be your accommodation while in Hawaii - you will truly experience true Aloha not a manufactured one experienced in Waikaki. My best high school friend and I relived the Aloha of our youth of the 60's in our Hometown of Kailua. Aloha Val ( Big Island) and Kia Ora from Kathy ( Aotearoa/New Zealand.

The suggestions provided by our hosts were wonderful. Very helpful and informative as we were on the island for a wedding and had no major plans so just opened their ‘suggestions’ binder and made an amazing week of it! Parking in Hawaii can be tricky but if you stay here, you can walk to both beaches and most eateries in Kailua!

Wonderful Kailua Beach bungalow
Beautiful gardens, comfortable accommodations and a primo location made this Kailua Beach bungalow a gem. Our bungalow was equipped with everything we needed and our gracious hosts were helpful and available when we needed them. Really hated to leave and already planning a trip back.

Absolute heaven!
Cheri and Scott are truly the perfect hosts, very welcoming and genuinely interested in making our stay enjoyable in all regards.
For us, their place was the ideal oasis for a a restful stay. Unbeatable location with close proximity to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, close to shopping and still secluded in a wonderfully designed tropical garden. Wow!
We can definitely recommend to anybody without hesitation, you will not be disappointed. We will be back!

Garden of Eden without the apple tree!
This is a secluded, delightful space to relax in. Surrounded by a beautiful garden which attracts birds and butterflies, you can spend the day here just enjoying the peace and quiet. All the details to make your stay stress free have been provided. You can cook full meals in the well appointed kitchen and the spaces inside the bungalow are comfortable (great bed!) and artistically well coordinated. Scott and Cheri were so accommodating and always available to help with any questions we had about the area. As other reviewers have said, the best beach in Oahu is right out your back gate and coffee is next door at the market, however you never hear any noise from either place! Loved it so much, we have already booked two weeks for next year. Thank you again Scott and Cheri for being wonderful people and sharing your little bit of heaven with us. Smoke and Mary

Elegant Surroundings
This is an elegant place close to Kailua State Park. The setting--really like a jungle in some places--is beautiful. The Brazwell's have an incredible sense of taste and detail. There is nothing in the two units--we have stayed in both--that has not been thoroughly thought out. We will be coming back! They have a perfect place for small weddings and they do this as well.

Absolutely fabulous
Dear Cheri and Scott,
Many, many mahalos for a splendid stay at your Secluded Beach Bungalow. We've stayed at several other places in Kailua and this is by far the best, with beauty both indoors and out. What a fabulous location just steps from the silky sands of Kailua Beach, the best key lime pie on the island at Buzz's, and just minutes to town. You've created such an idyllic oasis where romance and relaxation replace worldy worries. We really enjoyed meeting you, and look forward to seeing you again on our next visit. All the very best for the New Year 2018!!!

Hands-down best place to stay in Kailua
Our stay here was beyond fantastic! We came to Kailua to elope on our favorite beach. Upon arrival, Cheri gave us a tour of the beautiful property and our bungalow. Once we settled in we took a quick walk to Kailua Beach which is literally less than 50 yards from their backyard! Nearby restaurants, Whole Foods, the Kalapawai Market next door and Target gave us everything we needed. However, The Bungalow had shampoos, towels, soaps, microwave, fridge, beach toys, TV, and a really really comfortable bed! So you practically don't need to leave. Cheri was also kind enough to let us take a few pictures on the garden grounds and they turned out amazing! If you stay here, you won't be disappointed. It's exactly how you would imagine a trip to paradise to be. Thank you Cheri and Scott!

Perfect vacation rental
We absolutely loved this rental from the moment we drove through the gate until the moment we left. Secluded and private, yet easy access to beach, town and all that Kailua has to offer. Cheri was a fantastic host and extremely responsive. The bungalow was decorated perfectly and felt very welcoming. Although, not a full kitchen it had everything you needed to make meals, including a portable induction stove top (which are amazing). We could not have asked for a better stay.

Steps to the Beach
This is a lovely place to stay. The garden is beautiful (really can't describe it but it was the best garden we saw anywhere) and calming and there are birds everywhere. We could walk out the back gate and there we were, at the ocean. It was perfect.
We cooked on the grill outside every night and loved our little bungalow by the sea.
Thanks Cheri for the excellent Prosecco you had ready for us to celebrate my birthday and for the soft comforter you brought to us when the nights were cooler. We felt really lucky to have found your place. We barely drove anywhere at all (one of our goals for the trip). We walked the beach every day, walked to the grocery store, read, cooked and swam in the warm water.
This is a good place to stay. If you want to relax and slow way down, this is it. The town is right there (just a 10 minute walk) if you want it.
Mahalo!

Paradise Found
Upon arrival I commented that everything looked even better than the pics and web description. Cheri replied that they like to under promise and over deliver, that they did! We enjoy locally sourced food and drink, quiet, relaxed places with character and some adventure, and of course, clean, comfortable lodging. With Cheri and Scott's shangri-la, we hit a home run over the fence, right out of the box. Cheri greeted us with a warm welcome, helpful tour, and thoughtful delectables - chilled champagne on ice, local dark chocolate, macadamia nuts, kona coffee, tropical fruits and fresh flowers from their 300+ native plantings, even locally made coconut mango bath products. Some of our favorite memories include relaxing in the lush, shaded lanai watching tropical birds play in the fountain three feet away from us, taking in the newest tropical blooms as we headed down the garden path to the beach - and the beach...Kailua 24/7 great waves, powdery sand, turquoise indigo aqua hues with colorful kite and wind surfers, verdant green mountains and islands, yoga at sunrise on Lanikai Beach, sunset from the terrace Beachhouse Restaurant, sunrise ocean kayak to bird sanctuary reef (perfect timing between Hurrincanes Madeline and Lester - challenging but fun!), and super slick super deep mud hiking to Maunawili Falls (also challenging but fun!)...so many great memories. We stocked up on local fruits & veggies at the Farmer's Market - especially loved the killahpeppa water from the poi guy (next to the honey lady, just down from Sky Kombucha - we loved those vendors too)...pay it forward, buy a bag of kettle corn from the kettle corn guy (gave us a freebie bag at closing time, scrumptious!), we ate breakfast & lunch home a lot so we could really savor all the fresh, local stuff and make the most of our beach/lanai time. Restaurants recommendations include Over Easy (brunch bowl - take the chef's recommendation to mix it all up), Cactus (good food but service and sangria not great), Beachhouse Restaurant on North Shore - ask to sit in front for best view of sunset, Denise's table (top notch service), and cafe same name as green store next door...(forgot it already!). Oh yes, one more very important recommendation...Lomi Lomi Hana Lima massage with Sailor Solley. We usually like to try different places and will likely visit another island next time we go to Hawaii, but this was such a perfect vacation spot we will likely make an exception and revisit.

Nice Bungalow
My husband and I vacationed on Oahu last week and had a nice experience staying at this bungalow. The owners were great and very welcoming! This is a very small unit and because we were not there much it was perfect for our needs. It is private with beautiful plants lining your walk to the beach. My husband loved the market next door. He was so ecstatic about the coffee he walked to get every morning we brought four packages home! Thanks Cheri for allowing us in to your sanctuary!
