So beautiful and secluded! Exactly what we wanted. Very well appointed home. Lots and lots to do within an hour drive in any direction, or just cozy up and read a book on the great deck! Host is very helpful and replies quickly. Highly recommended!

The cabin is beautiful on the outside and quaint and cute on the inside. The kitchen is beautiful and stocked with all the utensils and pots/pans, toaster, espresso machine and coffee maker, pasta maker, and more. The gas stove works perfectly and the kitchen takes you back in time! The cabin is decorated with pictures and more. You just feel right at home when you walk in. The cleanliness was top-notch. The lake and moutain views were amazing from the deck. This cabin is totally private. The driveway is a little narrow, but our wagoneer made it up, with or without 4wd. This is definitely where we will stay from now on when visiting TN. Its near everything too or within an hour drive time. This also has a fence and was perfect for our golden retriever. There are games and plenty of tvs with cable and great wifi. This home is very kid-friendly and dog friendly. You can just tell how much time, thought, and love was put into the cabin. We loved it here.

The Antler cabin is a wonderful getaway from the fast pace of daily life. It has wonderful amenities and great location to other activities. We enjoyed drinking our coffee with the beautiful view each morning.

Overall the the rental met expectations and we enjoyed our stay. While the lake is a 1 minute walk, the lake frontage is all private and there is limited to no access to the lake for swimming by the cabin. Access to lake is at public access point around Lake Watauga.

This is such a great cabin; all the little decor touches were awesome "Go Vults". The kitchen was a great space for multiple things to be going on at once. We had a couple of issues, and I sincerely believe what happened was, that we were the first people to stay in the cabin after being closed up for the winter, and instead of the housekeeper giving it a deep spring cleaning, she just did a quick wipe down. We reached out to Sean, who was wonderful and felt awful, he truly wanted to take care of the situation, but ran into an issue with the housekeeper not being available right away. Honestly even after all is said and done, we would go back and stay there again, knowing what happened was an unfortunate situation, for everyone involved.

The cabin was equipped very well for cooking meals of any size. We enjoyed our thanksgiving meal and then some. The cabin was family friendly. We loved the views and just how comfortable and homey the feeling was. When we left we actually felt the deer saying goodbye to us all. Going to make this a yearly tradition. Thank you for the experience!

It was a true get-away place for a graduation weekend at Milligan University.

Beautiful home with amazing views! The deck needs some attention, but you can see it is being worked on. That being said, the only negative I would say is that whoever is working is not cleaning up after themselves completely. It in no way takes away from the home or the view, unless you want to let it, but it is a little untidy outside. The home is cozy and welcoming. The communication with the host was wonderful! It seems more and more that I've had to ask for check in info the day of the stay for other VRBOs, but he sent the info a week ahead. I was really appreciative of that. The bed in the master upstairs is very firm, but that is a matter of preference. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves!

Great cabin with beautiful view. Loved the dog yard. On first glance, the property is clean on the surface, but could use a deep cleaning and some minor repairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The approach on the drive up is treacherous. Broken light fixtures and numerous burned out bulbs. Shower door in lower bathroom fell off the tracks even though noted as a problem in prior reviews. Outside deck in need of repair and paint.

We thoroughly enjoyed our extended stay at this cabin. We were there for over 3 weeks, combining some real down-time vacation with work days sandwiched in between. Overall we thought it was terrific. The cabin is at the top of a hill overlooking Watauga Lake and the views really are lovely. The cabin layout and feel is as it is shown and described and as we expected. We had our dogs and they loved the ability to run around outside. Other reviews have noted some areas for improvement like a bit of maintenance on the deck—those are accurate, though it didn’t bother us that much or prevent us from using the deck almost every day. For us the bigger issue was the connectivity. There is WiFi, but it is satellite and connections are unstable, and cell service is not reliable up there. On days when we were working, we went into a nearby town. If we had only been vacationing, that kind of remote disconnect would have been perfect, but if you are in need of things like video calls, it is more challenging. But overall we did enjoy it and are considering a return next summer. Sean was also responsive and helpful throughout.

Will not return
Access to this property is very difficult. If we had driven a car, we would have had trouble getting it up the dirt road and would have bottomed out, the drive up is full of ruts from rain. We couldn't have other family come up to visit in their mini van, as we feared they would sustain damage. The deck of the house was filthy of cob webs, layers of dirt and pine needles. The lattice on the railing had some broken and/or missing pieces. We could not use the table and chairs on the deck, they were disgustingly dirty. One of the screen doors didn't close and had several holes in the screen. Interior, the living room was nice. The master bed/bath is extremely nice. Downstairs shower door fell off the track, we had to get it back on to use the shower. The refrigerator froze everything in it on the lowest temperature setting. Otherwise, the kitchen is nice, spacious and lots of room to work. Communication with the owner was very delayed and I had to request check-in info the day before our check-in date. We were very disappointed with this rental and will not be renting it again.

Great getaway
Great getaway in the mountains. Cabin was very clean, but a little more well loved than images showed. I tried working from the cabin a couple of days--wifi was slow for video calls and cell service was weak. But if you're looking for a getaway in the mountains, this is a fantastic place to call home for a week!

Electricity
It was a beautiful home and we enjoyed our stay. We arrived at 4pm and could not get into the house. We finally received the code from the owner. When we got into the house the electricity was off. The owner got in touch with the electric company. We were going back down the hill to find a hotel. The electric company arrived and determined that the electric was turned off due to non-payment. The repairman called the company and the electric was turned back on. It was 9pm when we finally got into the house. The owner did REIMBURSE us for the first nights stay. It was a beautiful home!!! The owner did his best for us.

Gorgeous views and lots of privacy!
What a fantastic spot to relax and unwind. The cabin is well appointed with everyone we needed and more. The views are wonderful!! The driveway is steep if your not used to that kind of driving, but well worth it when you reach the property. The owner was responsive to my requests for help getting the direct TV working and the check-in and out processes were very easy. I would stay at this location again!!

Wonderful nature!
We enjoyed the nature and the snow during our vacation. The view is spectacular, I love the rustic cabin but I think the person who is doing the cleaning is not doing the job right.

Was an expectacular end of the year

We enjoyed relaxing at the cabin. We especially enjoyed the puzzles the hosts provided.
Communication with the host was very easy & reliable. The property is located up a very steep, narrow road & would be difficult without 4-wheel drive. The kitchen was very well appointed & we enjoyed the puzzles provided by the hosts. The cabin needs some maintenance, specifically on the front deck. There are portions that have fallen down, making it unsafe for pets & children. Overall we enjoyed a very relaxing stay in the mountains.

Christmas getaway 2021!
WOW! This cabin blew us away from the moment we walked on the deck to check out the amazing view of lake Watauga, to the giant cathedral wood ceilings and beams. We loved the kitchen where our aunt Jackie spent most of her time cooking great meals for our family. She thoroughly enjoyed all of the beautiful appliances that were in the gourmet kitchen.
We had 7 guests in our party and wish it had one more bedroom but we let the young folks grab a couch which they didnt mind. Overall we had an amazing trip which we greatly needed as a family. We would recommend this cozy cabin to anyone wanting a secluded mountain getaway with amazing views! Thanks for sharing this cabin with us Sean!

Labor Day Weekend getaway
The place was clean and just like it was described on line. Before we went Sean was very responsive. We had an issue with a broken board on the bridge that didn’t get fixed after being told someone was coming. We followed up a few times and never heard anything else. The atmosphere was gorgeous and is a lovely quiet area. We would still recommend this place!

The property manager was extremely quick to respond to any questions we had prior to arrival. The view from the deck is phenomenal. We fell in love with the kitchen! We would definitely come back.

A study in contrasts
From the outside, this cabin looks a bit long in the tooth with a lot of deferred maintenance. Inside, however, is a fairly standard A-frame cabin with one exception - it has a large amazing kitchen with every cooking gadget you can imagine... Downside: cabin was a bit buggy and the internet very spotty.
