About this house rental
This bright, sunny gambrel Cape Cod home is situated on a private wooded acre on a quiet country lane. The house is just a short walk from Lambert's Cove Beach and two swimming ponds, and only 10 minutes' drive to the ferry, restaurants, and shopping. There are two sizable decks for outdoor grilling, dining, and lounging, and a small grassy yard with a hammock.
The interior is freshly painted and filled with art from island galleries. Downstairs is a front-to-back fireplaced living room, newly renovated kitchen, dining area with room for 8-10, and full bath. Upstairs are 4 cozy bedrooms and a second full bath. There are hardwood floors and oversized windows throughout the house, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms (and one window a/c unit). The walk-out basement has laundry facilities, and a spacious outdoor shower is perfect for cleaning off after the beach. Discreetly located minisplits keep the house heated and cooled efficiently.
The kitchen has new appliances including an induction range, and is fully stocked with dishes, flatware, pots and pans, toaster oven, blender, coffee grinder, Oxo coffee brewer, lobster pot, bowls and platters, salad spinner, and barware.
The house is within walking distance to three swimming areas. It's a five-minute walk to the Lambert's Cove Beach parking lot, a residents-only private beach. with the warmest water on the island and legendary sunsets. The rental includes walk-on beach passes.
A ten-minute walk down our road is Manaquayak Preserve, which includes miles of wooded hiking trails and Ice House Pond, a deep kettle pond for swimming. Ten minutes' walk in the other direction is the shallower Seth's Pond, which has a small sandy beach and is great for families with young kids.
We're well set up for families with a portacrib and beach toys and books. We also have adult books, board games and puzzles.

The interior is beautifully decorated and so lovingly thought out that it radiates a feeling of calmness, welcoming and inviting.
Everything one needs is there. Everything is clean and well organized.
And you can’t beat the location.
Communication ahead of check-in and afterwards were terrific. Thank Lisa for a great stay.

We loved this spot for a great jumping off point for the quieter side of the vineyard. It's very close to the ice pond and the beach! The house is well outfitted and we were thankful for the AC in the bedroom.

The house is cozy but has an awesome layout for cooking and spending time together with friends. It's beautifully decorated too. We loved how quiet and wooded the neighborhood was and that we could easily walk to a gorgeous beach and bike to other beautiful destinations. Lisa was very friendly and communicative and tipped us off to many fun things to do in the neighborhood and on the island.

This rental was a lovely place to spend a few days with siblings and their adult children. We loved the pleasant, bright, airy, window-filled home, surrounded by woods, very comfortable, with a table on one of the decks big enough for all of us to eat outside (though another big table was inside). The kitchen was well-furnished and large enough for several cooks to be preparing meals at the same time. We opted not to bring our cars (partly, we were trying to get reservations so late that there weren’t that many spaces left on the ferries we wanted to take, and to keep costs down). We relied on cabs (some vans big enough for all 8 of us), Ubers, and Lyfts, either at the ferry terminal or other places to get to the rental, to go out for dinner and to do some shopping, but also found we could order some groceries and have them delivered. The walk to the beach, with lifeguards, was very doable, not over-crowded, with great sand, and gentle waves. One night we went out for dinner in Oak Bluffs, a bustling town with lots of visitors and much activity. It was a pleasant change from our very quiet rental, though I think we all preferred the secluded rental—to lounge, lie on the hammock in the yard, and sit on one of the decks. The temperatures were in the low 80ies at the hottest, but house fans, open windows, and brisk sea breezes allowed for great cross-ventilation at night, in spite of the lack of AC, which we didn’t seem to miss. Communication with the owners was easy before we arrived, with questions answered within hours. For all of us, it was our first time on Martha’s Vineyard and I know that we all would love to return.

Lovely, quiet home with a quick walk to the beach
The property was everything it promised: the beach was beautiful, and close by; there were many amenities in the house (beach chairs, ample deck furniture, & kitchen tools/supplies); and it was very quiet since it was tucked away from the villages.

Private, quiet & peaceful
The house and property were exactly as described. Very, very quiet! The home is very clean and well decorated inside. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots, pans, silverware, etc.. The four bedrooms are cozy, but adequate for a vacation. My wife and I are TV junkies and we missed having a master bedroom TV. There was only one TV in a child's bedroom upstairs. Our only minor comment(s) have to do with the lack of beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We had a nice late September weekend with warm weather, so we visited the beach and those amenities would have been nice. Thanks, however, to the Owners for a really nice stay!

We headed to the vineyard to run the marathon for the second year. As a group of adult runners and their spouses we were looking for enough bedrooms and a nice kitchen area for a family dinner. We had a couple last minute cancellations which left it just 3 of us siblings and one friend. It ended up being the perfect house for what we had planned. As it was it was pretty big. We all had our own rooms with plenty of space for more. What was the best was the kitchen/dining area. It was perfect for cooking and eating together. We didn’t make use of the basement but there were bikes and a ping pong table. There are 2 decks and a nice yard. We enjoyed the indoor fire place while lounging on the couches post marathon since it was a rainy weekend. Long story short, we loved it! Highly recommend staying here. It was a great location near the beach as well. We hope to be back!

Very cozy and clean home to stay
Spent the last weekend at this house. It is so clean and cozy!.
The owner, Lisa, has been very nice to answer all my questions before we stayed there.
A nice beach within a walking distance, very convenient!
You do need a car to get to other places.

Great house for two families, wonderful beach!
We really enjoyed our stay at Elizabeth's house. We were four adults and four kids (9, 5, 3, and <1) and we stayed for a week in the summer. The house was clean, the beds were fine, and everything essential worked great (dishwasher, washer, dryer, fridge, etc.). The sliding screen door to one of the decks was broken/always off track but I have found that true of 30% of all sliding screen doors I've ever met.
You do feel nicely secluded among trees and I imagine if you don't have small children, you could have a really nice relaxing morning sipping coffee on one of the decks, or an evening cocktail listening to birds. Yeah, I bet that would be nice for some people.
There was a nearby house that had some rowdy frat dudes the last few days we were there that we could hear at night. They liked to play drinking games and then vomit in the wee hours of the morning. Not the house's fault though!
It is a short drive to great bakeries, the grocery store, Vineyard Haven, and a little further, Oak Bluffs.
The house is definitely walkable to Lambert's Cove, which is a wonderful beach for kids, though it's not really walkable if you are hauling chairs and food and blankets and stuff, so we ended up driving to the beach, dropping off the bulk of our people and supplies, and then one of us would park back at the house (we didn't have sticker for the car to park at the beach) and do the walk back. It was pretty easy though and worth it to spend a full day at the beach.
There is a pack and play and a stroller, though the stroller is quite large so I wouldn't use it for downtown Vineyard haven or Oak Bluffs trips. We didn't bring our umbrella stroller from home but we wished we had it for shopping in town. The high chair provided would be fine for a toddler, but was not suitable for an infant.
Definitely check out a sunset at the beach. That was gorgeous the one night we did that.
The house worked really well for our two families, I'd definitely recommend it. We all loved the tasteful and stylish decor and the other family even said they wanted to redo their own home to incorporate some of the decor elements.
Elizabeth and Lisa were super responsive throughout our planning process (we booked 11 months before the trip!) and very easy to work with.
Finally, they have Pump Up The Volume with Christian Slater and Stealing Home with Mark Harmon on DVD available for you to watch. So that was pretty cool.

Comfortable Lambert's Cove Location
My wife and I stayed with her sister and husband...and our boys both under the age of 2. We had no problems with the property as it was comfortable, spacious and met all of our needs. Lisa was very accommodating and couldn't have been more pleasant to deal with. The owners had all of the necessary items for the kids to make packing up and getting on island a breeze. I hope we can find time to stay here again in the near future because it worked out so well for our needs.

Cosy Beach House
We went to Martha's Vineyard for three days (June 3-6, 2015) and spent them in West Tisbury. We were very satisfied with this house. Very comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The beach, exclusive to the West Tisbury residents or tenants, is at a walking distance and is the best on the Island. The new owner Lisa was very full of attentions toward us and diligent to response to our requests. The house is at a 15-minute drive from Vineyard Haven where you cross to Woods Hole on the Main land. We highly recommend this quiet house and would come back again.

Beautiful Home
We visited Martha's Vineyard over Memorial Day Weekend and this home was the perfect fit for the 9 of us! (7 adults & 2 kids) The home was very clean and well equipped. Lisa is the new owner of this home and she was very accommodating and met all of our needs! The beach is an easy walk with breath taking views and soft sand! We did not have a car for the weekend and the house is a little remote, but the bike trails made our travels around the island fun & adventuerous! Would definately stay again during another visit!
