I can’t say enough about how much we loved this house. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable (with lovely art, which is rare for a rental!) in a perfect location where you’re only about ten minutes from all the Gloucester beaches, as well as Essex. The property is relaxing and beautiful, if we’re ever in the area again we would definitely stay at this house again.

This is a nice home with great views of the marsh. It is tucked away in a nice wooded private lot. The location is good, as you're 2 minutes from the freeway and 10 minutes from Gloucester. You do get freeway noise, but its not bad and just becomes white noise. You're also walking distance from Lobsta Land, which has good food and great views. We found all the beds to be comfortable and bathrooms spacious. The only unfortunate thing is that the cleaning crew really missed the mark. We did report this issue (in detail) to the owners and they assured us that this would be addressed!

We had a great week in Gloucester! The house is clean, well equipped and spacious with lots of light. Nice backyard with seating area and deck with grill. Close to multiple different beaches. Owners were attentive and responsive. Highly recommend!

Grateful that we were able to rent such a nice place on short notice in a central Cape Ann location for our busy week of familial obligations, doctor appointments, and business meetings. Slept great every night, and appreciated the beautiful views during the sunny summer days … even the rainy days were enjoyable. :-) Thanks so much to the kind owners who share their family’s vacation house with others. What a wonderful gift! Thanks!

This is an immaculate, modern property tucked away near a peaceful marsh. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. In particular, I appreciated all of the kid-friendly amenities for our 2-year old -- plastic cups and dishes, pack-and-play, adaptable potty seat, etc. The house is very near Route 128 so it's easy to drive to the beaches and scenic towns in the nearby area. It's easy to access the grocery store, drug stores, as well. The hosts' art collection makes the house stand out in a good way from the typical beach house decor you might expect. I'll add that the house is quite large and the bedrooms afford privacy if you are looking to travel with extended family or a group of friends. You can have togetherness or privacy if you wish. The hosts were attentive and while we didn't need any special assistance, they were kind enough to check in by text periodically during the course of our stay. There is a lobster joint within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

Marsh beauty on Rust Island
We had a great two-week family holiday (4 adults and one busy toddler for the first week and 2 more adults the second week) at this house, which is spacious and conveniently located. Sam was a great host and easily accessible for all our questions and needs. He was very efficient solving any issues as well. The house is very well stocked and has all your bathroom and kitchen needs. We especially loved how kid- friendly it was with a great bunk bed in the room off of the living room and tons of games and toys.
We loved sitting on the porch and watching the beautiful sunsets on the marsh, and enjoyed observing the active bird and wild life (a wild turkey, a small fox, and two deers were some of our neighbors) from the kitchen table. The house is right off of Rte 128 and only couple minutes from Gloucester town center, which made it very convenient to drive to the nearby Cape Ann towns - any town from Salem to Rockport, or Manchester-by-the-Sea to Essex & Ipswich was 15-20 minutes drive at most. There is plenty to do in this area (good museums and historic houses, great beaches [Crane Beach is a must], lots of antique stores [mostly in Essex], whale watching, etc.) and great seafood, including at the Lobsta Land down the street. We had a comfortable stay and cannot wait to be back!

Rust Island Retreat
We had an incredibly relaxing stay. The home was spacious and soothing. Watching the sunsets from living room & staying warm by the fireplace.
Whether hiking in Ravenswood, looking for shells at Wingaersheek beach, or shopping at Rockport—you’re never more than a 10 minute drive from this beautiful location.
Sam & Jen are great hosts. From the decor to the well-labeled fixtures, you can tell they’ve put a lot of thought in making a great experience for us.

Spacious and delightful
We loved our stay at Sam & Jen’s. By far the most straightforward, well-organized rental process I’ve had. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated with modern amenities, eye-catching original art, and rustic touches. Gloucester and nearby Rockport are a few of my favorite New England towns. You will love dealing with Sam and Jen and staying in their awesome vacation home.

Gorgeous Home in an Excellent Location
We were only a 10 minute drive from Wingaersheek beach, within walking distance of an excellent restaurant, and a short hop from the greater Gloucester/Rockport area. The home is beautiful with many amenities and well equipped for large families or groups. This property will be first on our list the next time we are looking for a rental in this area. Also, I cannot say enough positive things about the owners. Stellar response time to inquiries and very helpful with providing information about the area and property. They were even able to help me troubleshoot early parking on the property so I would not have to pay for beach parking for two cars on our first day into town (before our group's check-in). I cannot say enough positive things about Sam and Jen!

A Beautiful Spacious Hone
We truly love the house! It’s close to everything! But you can also hear the highway. Other than that, the views are spectacular and the house is so spacious and comfortable! We played board games to relax after the beach! Lobster land is walking distance from the house!! I would love to have more pots & pan coz I love to cook. But the beach umbrellas and chairs in the garage was a bonus to have! Sam & Jen are so wonderful & easy to talk to! Overall, we recommend this space and love to return!

Stunning home in synchronicity with nature
Our extended family just spent the winter holidays in Sam and Jen's gorgeous home. From our first booking through checkout, communications were easy and Sam and Jen were thoughtful hosts, even providing a lovely gift to remind us of our happy stay in Gloucester.
The house was spotless and recently renovated, providing every modern convenience. Gorgeous artwork adorns the walls, yet it's a house that easily accommodates children with it's wide open spaces.
The four bedrooms/three bathrooms are well laid out for group of friends/family. The kitchen is well stocked with all necessities - we cooked many meals for our family gatherings. But there are also great restaurants nearby, to which we had easy access from this perfectly situated home. We took long walks in Ravenswood Park, Halibut Point (in Rockport), and by the beach in Manchester. We bowled at the alley nearby, and spent a day at the Peabody-Essex museum in Salem. Most of all, we loved being together in the house, enjoying the views of changing tides and gorgeous sunsets.
We rent very frequently in this area and around the country. and this home easily jumps to the very top of our list.
We can't wait to return!

Excellent vacation home in the Cape Ann area!
We made a superb choice in booking this extraordinary house. Here are 10 reasons why we enjoyed it so much and why we can highly recommend it to future vacationists:
- The house is very spacious and fully equipped.
- Its interior (and exterior) is tastefully furnished.
- It is very well kept and clean.
- The panoramic view on the marshes is outstanding.
- You have maximum privacy with hardly any visible/audible neighbors.
- The host is very considerate and friendly.
- Easy access to a highway facilitates excursions to many attractive locations like beautiful Cape Ann, several beaches, Boston, Cambrige, Salem, Portsmouth, NH, to name but a few.
- Whale-watching is another unforgettable experience (but people prone to seasickness may find it challenging even on a nice summer day!).
- In easy walking distance a popular restaurant serves excellent seafood and drinks.
- The sporty fraction of our group could start their jogging route directly from the house.

We loved it!
Sam and Jen were phenomenal. Their home exceeded our expectations - when you walk in for the first time, it's that much better than the photographs. And we were greatly appreciative of their responsiveness -- questions, big and small, were all answered by text and email right away. More than anything, they took the time to ensure we truly enjoyed Gloucester with their attention to detail in the home and guidance on how to navigate the local area. We would definitely go back!

Absolutely amazing property! Perfect location!
I was totally blown away by this house. It's gorgeous. And it was absolutely perfect for my family get-together. Sam was very very accommodating and helpful and communicative. The house itself was spacious, clean, and unbelievably comfortable. I will DEFINITELY be booking again the next time I'm in the area. Also, pro tip, there's an amazing seafood restaurant just down the street!

Our 2nd stay was as good as our first!
This Easter was our second time to this wonderful home in Gloucester! Upon our arrival everything was spotless. The owners go above and beyond to make sure everything is set up for our family and any questions are answered. This place is starting to feel "just like home". We are already looking forward to another trip next year!

Summer Fun
Lovely sun filled home overlooking the marsh. After a long awaited vacation this Private 2 Acre Retreat was a peaceful respite. The windows to the marsh are just beautiful. Each morning wake up and sitting with our coffee in the breakfast nook was heavenly. We had two families and many evenings were filled with board games around the large farm table. Hope to visit sometime in the fall.

Great place in Gloucester and friendly hosts
Our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 kids, and in laws) loved the house and the location. It was spacious and comfortable and great to view the sunsets over the marsh. We also loved that it was so close to Wingaersheek beach, our favorite in New England. Grocery is 5 mins away, Rockport around 10 mins so it is convenient for an ice cream or dinner out. There is also a nice restaurant walking distance. Sam and Jen were gracious hosts and very thorough in communication. Check in was super convenient with a code at the door and we were in.

Serene Setting on the Marsh
We had a wonderful week on the marsh! The house is beautiful, lots of space with clean modern furnishings, rugs and art. The house is homey, light filled and happy and has breathtaking views of the greenery and marshes from most windows. The master bedroom and bath are stellar. We watched the sunsets off the deck every evening with our son. We also had a wild turkey who visited a few times which we loved. Everything we needed for the week was nearby: beautiful beaches, restaurants, and stores. The owners were delightful. They found the perfect balance of being helpful and friendly while maintaining the guests privacy. We really had a wonderful time and plan on renting there again. All and All a terrific place and time for all of us young and old.

Wonderful Retreat!
What a wonderful stay we had at this beautiful, clean, and comfortable home in Gloucester! The views were spectacular all day! From the salt marshes, to the gardens, and the bountiful wildlife we saw throughout our stay including a fox, turkeys, bunnies, and many varieties of birds. The owner even provided seed for the bird feeder! The home itself was upscale and well stocked with everything you might need and it was spotless upon our arrival. The location was perfect for exploring Cape Ann and other North Shore small towns, or it is just a short trip into Boston. We also appreciated the fantastic restaurant that is an easy walk from the home! Our family had a wonderful trip and look forward to returning to this property again next year!

Fantastic hosts and amazing place!
What a great Spring Break with our family! The house is beautiful and our kids loved watching the tides come in and out of the marsh every day, and playing board games in the big dining room. Very convenient to Gloucester, Boston and Maine for day trips, but even just hanging out around the house was a welcome break. Very sunny inside (with all the windows) and a great layout for families (even multiple families). The owners had everything well documented and were very helpful in picking things to do during our vacation - their communication was top-notch! Will definitely stay again!
