About this house rental
Sometimes described as a chalet on steroids, this custom built home was intended to be the perfect retirement home for a local builder. It features all kinds of unique and special amenities such as a formal dining room (1 of only 2 in Red River), an outdoor kitchen (huge grill & sink) coupled with a wood-burning fireplace located above the roofline so you can gaze at the mountains or look down on the flower garden, and a 4 car garage (3 available to guests) deep enough to park 8 compact cars! This amazing home, newly redecorated, provides guests with a true taste of luxury: from the new stainless steel appliances and granite countertops in the kitchen to the ice maker and wine chiller in the wet bar to the Jacuzzi tub in the master suite to the new washer/dryer in the huge tiled laundry room (also with a utility sink) to the custom tile work in the kitchen/dining room/breakfast area to the new stain master carpet to the new 60" flat-screen TV in the family room. Every bedroom is decorated with its own theme, features 800 thread count sheets, and the thickest, warmest blankets you've ever seen for those cold winter nights. The top floor features 5 bedrooms--one master king suite, a second king master, and 3 comfy queen rooms--each with its own TV. The master suite or Captain's Quarters (decorated with Indian decor including a Pendleton wool blanket spread) sleeps 2 and has a private balcony, a large master bath with a Jacuzzi tub, and a large dressing room with cedar lined closets. Two twin cats in the dressing room accommodate smaller children or even petite adults. The second master (the Artist's Room) sleeps 4 in a new king plus queen sleeper sofa. It too has a private balcony plus an in-room sink and electric recliner. A mix of cowboy and Indian decor, this room contains original artwork by a local artist, a Pendleton Indian blanket spread, and bright colors. The "Cross" Room (sleeps 2) shares a large bath with the second master. The faux-suede bedding, flat-screen TV, and wall decorated with unique crosses from around the world provide a very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere that perfectly fits the Indian worshipping the Great Spirit in the picture over the bed. The Bear Room (sleeps 2), done in hunter greens and rich woody browns, shares a large bath with the Wolf room. The "bear" artwork, from the tapestry bedspread to multiple pictures to a giant wall hanging to 3 wall hooks to the lamps, showcases mothers, cubs, and large males in various scenes and poses, including acute tiny cub perched atop an old tree stump. The Wolf Room (sleep 2) next door, in soothing shades of blue and green, greets guests with an ever so soft blanket/spread and various wolf decor, including one picture of an intense blue-eyed wolf looking right at the bed with his penetrating gaze. Main floor sleeping arrangements include the Cowboy Bunk Room (sleeps 6 in a twin bunk set and a queen bunk set), a second family room (known as the Buffalo Room--sleeps 4 on 2 new queen sleepers), and the sun porch (sleeps 2 on a double futon). The TV in the Bunk Room is functional only for video games brought by guests--bring your own hookups. Other features worth noting are the fully stocked kitchen (spices, Keurig [bring your own K-cups], 2 crock pots, 2 coffee makers, a large wok, lots of large pots, and more), a full outdoor balcony on the main floor with plenty of seating and a grill, a gas log stove in the Buffalo Room, a "landing" on the winding staircase to the upper outdoor area, and an extra frig in the garage for overflow food and drinks. Finally, the Great Room (really!) will impress you with the 2 large rocking chairs in front of the huge wood-burning fireplace topped by an Indian headdress, the massive 60" flat-screen TV with its "surround" seating of 3 sofas and multiple chairs, the numerous skylights, and the 2-story vaulted ceiling surrounded by the second-floor balcony. Truly a luxury home for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Since this grand old lady sleeps 24, it is the perfect place for a wedding, a family reunion, or another special event. The house was nice - but several televisions did not work, and "out of order" signs on the ice maker, one of the fireplaces.... Internet was almost non-existent. It was quite warm during the day and the bedroom without a window stayed hot at night. The upstairs bedrooms all had skylights - which are beautiful - but not nice when the room is bright from the skylight right above the bed at 6am. But it was a very good location - just on the edge of town and close to everything. Overall, I would recommend the place.

Excellent for large groups. Enjoyed our stay. Multiple stairs made it difficult for those that needed ADA accessibility.

Large home with plenty of space for multiple families.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The pictures are accurate and we loved that there was plenty of bedrooms each with their own TV. The house has a lot of stairs so I would not recommend for anyone with problems with getting up and down as everything requires many steps. We will be staying here again for sure. Quick responses from guest services and maintenance.

Beautiful House. Great location.
The layout is a little weird but it accommodated everyone fine. We loved the outdoor kitchen / fireplace even though you get a good workout with all the stairs. We def would book again.

Lots of room for a big group
We had a group of over 20 people and this wa s a great location and house for us. It was a little awkward in the layout but with lots of couples and children to all worked it. The upstairs patio was awesome—probably the best feature of the house. The only significant drawback was the odd heating ad cooling system. Overall the house is great—clean, spacious, open, well-equipped, unique property.
I would also add that the rental company was prompt, helpful, and extremely responsive. I would definitely rent again.

Perfect for our big family
Although the house was spacious, the way it was furnished made it feel cozy. Family could gather together or be alone. There was plenty of room for both.

Beautiful Home
This home is beautiful and huge. The pictures of the home are reflective of how beautiful it is and how well it fits a large group. The reason I gave this home 3 stars is due to the outdoor patio and the management. Only half of the grill was in working order, and the entire grill was filthy. The outdoor patio pictures aren't an adequate reflection of its condition. Also note that this patio access is gained by many steps and it is actually above the house. This means a beautiful view, just be aware of this with children. There was a huge dead rat in the garbage can on the patio as well. There were numerous used water bottles left on the balconies not cleaned up before our stay. The hall bathroom drain was clogged with long white hair, which made it drain too slow to use. The management company immediately disposed of the dead rat and cleaned up the grill. In a luxury rental costing more than $900 a day, I expect all of these things are closely attended to in advance. However, the inside of the house was clean and beautiful and our family had a wonderful time.

Beautiful property
We all enjoyed our stay, lots of room. The Villa is beautiful. We had stayed there about 4 years ago. That’s the reason we booked in May. All of our friends loved it there.

Nice overall rental property with plenty of room.
No air conditioning so during the day it was very warm in the house but that's what you expect in Red River properties. Need more fans to circulate the air during the day. No vent a hood over the stove so when preparing meals got very smoking in the kitchen. Lights were not working over the stove. Red River Real Estate which manages the property was very pleasant and easy to work with.

Incredible place to visit with big family!
My husband's family wanted to all go on a skiing holiday together and we stayed in this incredible home. It was very cozy in spite of the enormous size. The photos accurately portrayed the property and we were a 3 min drive to the ski mountain. The town of red river is quaint and charming, but being able to stay all together in this beautiful home just made it. The garage is HEATED and we had plenty of room everywhere. Side note if you want a really warm room, stay in the log cabin bunk room. Young kids will wear themselves out playing hide and seek and running up and down the staircases.
