I want to say first my husband is from New Orleans and we have been visiting for years. We usually stay with family or hotels. This year we decided we needed a real vacation and see family too. The Lighthouse was a perfect home away from home. We have done the swamp tours, plantations, Mardi Gras, WW II museums and shopping. This time was for water, eating and visiting family. The Lighthouse was perfect. Our little chihuahua loved chasing a lizard around the deck. Everything we needed was inside and outside. My husband threw the crab net out and caught turtles. He fished and caught a gar fish and fed the turtles. He grew up on the bayous but they weren't as beautiful as Bayou Chamele. We visited with family in Slidell and some came to visit with us. They loved our place. The owner was available for any questions we had and promptly took care of everything. We definately look forward to returning to our Magical lighthouse. Thanks Polo for allowing us to visit in your special place.

We absolutely loved our stay at the lighthouse it had everything we needed to accommodate me my husband and our furbabies!! We will definitely be staying there again soon! Thank you so much to the owners who allow us to bring our furbabies with us so we know they are safe, while we visit family!

Property was beautiful very peaceful.. Love the fact we got to go fishing.. Everything was provided or was in driving distance.. Inside could have been a little better.. One of the blinds was broken or could not close for privacy and I could not get the internet password to work Other then that.. It was a GREAT stay .. I would come back again.

We had a great time at the Lighthouse! The location of the house is very private, and we love privacy and security! The house is very cozy and the space worked well for me my husband and our little Yorkie! The backyard is beautiful, it exceeded our expectations! We did lots of fishing, everyday! There are alligators around the property, we saw couple of them in the water so I had to keep my eyes open for our dog! We loved everything about our stay, but I only gave 4 stars not 5 just because there’s multiple trains that goes by early in the morning, during the day and also at night and they are loud! We will definitely stay at this place again (despite the trains...lol ) because of the location and the backyard! If you don’t mind the trains, this is the place for you!!! The owner is amazing, helpful and kind!

The lighthouse was a cozy place with beautiful scenery! We had everything we needed for a week. The owner was prompt in answering questions we had. Somehow, the binder/book with information about the place was missing when we arrived. We never were able to get the TV to work, but used the DVD player and rented several Redbox movies and played games instead. (The owner did offer to send someone over or visit by phone to figure it out, but we declined). We enjoyed this place and would definitely stay here again.

Adorable little place on the bayou in a quiet location. Perfect size for my family. Well kept and Clean! We loved our stay!!!

Much better than a hotel stay and pretty comparable in price. The home was lovely and we enjoyed being able to relax on the dock and take in the scenery! Will be booking again.

We had a wonderful time. If we had any questions they answered within an hour. Great place for a nice relaxing get away.

The property was perfect! Perfect for my family (2 boys) who enjoyed fishing, playing in the backyard and making s’mores at night. Everything was perfect, no complaints. Thank you again for letting us use your home.

What a great place. Privacy, quiet, comfort at it's finest. Paulo answered every question we had and even came and rescued us from QVC, LOL! We had a small issue with the audio/visual set up but Paulo fixed it. And he made a point to come visit and make sure all of our housekeeping needs were met. What a great host! I would highly recommend this place for any couple regardless of age. Young and old should be able to enjoy. We'll be back next year for a longer stay. Dan and Glenda Cudmore

A perfect place in slidell to stay while visiting the grandkids. Very nice , quiet in great neighborhood. Has everything you need.

Nice cozy little place right on the water nestled way back in a very nice neighborhood. Offers great fishing and kayaking opportunities right from their dock. Unique building style that comfortably sleeps three or four. Small, but well-equipped kitchen, and a variety of lighting. Wonderful decking and private backyard for evening or daytime lounging, or bird-watching. The owner was easy to contact and answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again!

Close to our entire family of four different homes. It was just like Home. Nice and warm when it was 40 outside! Found the queen Murphy bed very comfortable and shower worked perfect!! Will stay there again next year!!

Tremendous properly. Beautifully landscaped and wonderfully maintained. The Lighthouse was amazing. Much more than we expected. Outstanding decks for relaxing outside with a great view of the bayou. Paulo was very accommodating and saw to our needs. We will be back to this property for another stay.

This was a fun place to stay with a great yard! There were just two of us, and there was room to spread out! We used it as a home base for sightseeing around the area, and it was great to come back to and relax. The murphy bed was really cool and a good use of space. The mattresses were comfortable. Thank you!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. It exceeded our expectations. It had all the comforts of home with a living area, kitchen, washer and dryer, bed and bath, but what we loved was sitting by the bayou relaxing with a cocktail and fishing. Paulo has a huge yard with a sitting area next to the dock. It's very quiet and relaxing. Mark here (husband), We had a blast here. From Paulo's place it is an easy drive to Nola. We also made day trips to Mobile, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and Biloxi. We always planned to get back to the lighthouse by 5:00PM so we could take our wine out to the dock and do a little fishing. Paulo has fishing gear there for you to use. You can catch catfish all day long but don't be surprised if you get some of the other critters in the bayou. My wife hooked a 4' gar that gave her quite a fight. No, we did not land it but we got some great video of the fight before to line snapped. I never thought I would hear my wife say "we need to go to the bait story tomorrow". There are also Canoes at the lighthouse that you can use along with lift jackets. Hurricane Nate hit while we were there. Paulo came by to make sure everything was ship shape ahead of time. What a great guy. We were due to leave the next day to drive to Memphis but he told us to stay an extra day or two if we didn't feel comfortable driving the next day. Good old southern hospitality can't be beat. We did leave the next day. There water in the bayou came up about a foot and the wind and rain were pretty heavy at times but there were no problems other than I could not fish that evening. We are going to be back. This place is fantastic, quiet, comfortable, secure, and so very relaxing. Thank you Paulo for a wonderful memory. PS; The Honey island swamp tour is a must. Ton's of information, and lots of fun
