About this cottage rental

Perfect Sunsets any time of year —this magical two-bedroom waterfront cottage on bucolic Fort Pond is as close as it gets to perfection. Every room looks out upon the most beautiful waterfront and sunset vistas all year. A designer's home is beautifully decorated with mid-century modern furniture and spectacular landscaping, enhancing the privacy felt on this gem of a property. It features a large living area with ribbon remote control gas fireplace, a dining table, a state-of-the-art kitchen, sofa and a bathroom with a large glass-enclosed rain head shower with access to the outdoor shower from the inside. Ideal for couples, singles, or small families (dogs accepted with a $250 fee, and crated when left alone). Maximum sleeping capacity 4 people. (The sofa should not used for overnight guests and the backs do not go down). The cottage has plenty of outdoor furniture, a table for 8, a gas Weber grill, and stairs to the water—perfect for standup paddleboards or kayaking. A short walk to town (5 minutes), the best restaurants, the Jitney, and beaches

The cottage comes with linens, towels, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, and many beautiful pieces of vintage table settings and glassware for entertaining. (2) standup paddleboards, (2) Kayaks, and (2) bikes. You will be asked to sign a waiver for the use of the equipment.

The cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each guest. All surfaces are disinfected with Clorox. All white linens are washed in warm water with bleach. All throw pillows and throws are washable and are cleaned between each guest.

$250 per week for cleaning and garbage removal. Excessive garbage will be an additional $75.
$250 Pet Fee per dog, maximum 2 dogs.

We had an amazing stay at Laura’s cottage. She has clearly put a lot of detail into the interior and exterior - making it a perfect getaway for my husband and I and our dog. It’s walkable to a lot of popular Montauk spots and the beach. The views are beautiful especially at sunset. We hope to go back one day!

This property is absolutely stunning, spotless, and well-stocked, inside and out. It’s hard to want to leave the beautifully furnished house, but the outdoor shower is a dream, and the plantings, landscaping, and numerous outdoor seating areas add so much to the stay. We had an amazing time, and look forward to scheduling another stay. I haven’t even mentioned proximity because the property is so nice, but you practically can’t be any closer to the adorable town center.

Laura is an excellent host. She provides a beautiful cottage in pristine condition on peaceful Fort Pond! Our dog enjoyed her swimming and we enjoyed stunning sunsets in the evenings and relaxing with a good book or a quiet kayak around the pond. We would gladly visit again. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on the cool evenings too! Don’t hesitate to book!

A much needed break from the city on this idyllic property with spectacular sunsets. The cottage is far enough away to feel private and secluded but walking distance to the town—we arrived by Jitney. It’s well equipped with high end appliances and tableware. The owner has thought of everything down to the bathrobes in each room. We will be back!

Such a beautiful property with views over the lake. Perfectly furnished, light filled and a concise well outfitted kitchen. So clean with wonderfully comfortable beds and linens. We cooked a dinner at home and the kitchen was so well equipped and easy to cook in. A fire in the fire place made for a perfect evening at home. Really can’t get any better than this place. We will be back!

We stayed for a long weekend. The house is exactly as pictured (if not better). The yard has everything you could want - including grill and many places to sit. The host was also very responsive when we had a few questions. We would definitely return!

For those who love the tranquility and beauty of Montauk, this beautifully decorated and landscaped cottage, is nestled among a naturally wooded landscape, overlooking a large peaceful lake with breathtaking sunsets! The hostess was friendly, helpful and accessible, getting back to my questions within minutes, and made us feel welcomed. The whole experience was charming! Both my husband and I and our two Rottweilers had a wonderful time and look forward to going back!

The house is very clean and well decorated. It sits on a nice property overlooking a pretty lake. It is a short walk into town and the beach. The host was responsive to our texts, but was rude upon checkout. Not a great ending to our vacation to have the host be so unfriendly and rude as we were leaving.

It was even better than described in the listing. The house was well equipped and very updated. We loved the fenced yard and all the outdoor amenities. We walked to the beach every morning and to restaurants and shopping several times a day. This property has the most amazing sunset view, which we enjoyed each evening. Highly recommend this one.

We wanted peaceful and relaxing and we woke up to birds and the calming sounds of the water lapping the rocks outside. The place is immaculately decorated, Laura is a pleasure is communicate with, the place is spotless, fully equipped with everything you could need for cooking and dining in. It was absolutely beautiful and we will definitely reach out to her to stay at her house again. It was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a two bedroom house on the pond within walking distance of town and five minutes drive to Gosmans, ten to the lighthouse. Perfect vacation spot. Loved every minute.

Absolutely stunning cottage on the lake. Surpassed our expectations for a winter getaway! Close to restaurants and hiking trails. Panoramic view of the lake with amazing sunsets. Decorated beautifully and everything was immaculate! Laura is a gracious host who responded promptly to our needs. We almost had to cancel our trip last minute and Laura agreed to change our dates, no problem no additional fees. We will definitely be returning!!

This beautifully renovated cottage with a great view of the water (and an awesome gas fireplace) was exactly what my husband I needed as a winter escape from the city. The cottage has everything you could think of - comfy beds, new appliances, every cooking tool, great coffee/espresso maker, wonderful gas fireplace - the works. There are many great hiking/walking trails nearby. The area guidebook at the cottage was very thorough. Owner was terrific to communicate with and answered immediately with any questions. We will be back again!

The only thing better than a lovely rental home is one that has a kind hearted owner. Laura’s home and surrounding views are nothing short of amazing. Perfect energy and space to wake up on this Christmas morning. The home provided a much welcomed retreat for some R&R during a different kind of holiday season for me. From start to end the process was smooth and simple. We came with a pet and he was more than happy to run the grounds. If you are debating, look no further and book it, you won’t be disappointed!

The house is very updated with all the high-end amenities needed (kitchen, bathroom) and the layout was perfect to maximize the usable space and the incredible views. Added bonus is a hedged enclosed yard that is really beautiful! We’ll be back for sure.

The Cottage is a luxury. The large windows offers a beautiful view of the pond and the most beautiful sunsets. The well appointed bedroom are fitted with top of the line linens in crisp white. The main bath is spacious with plush white towels. The storage closet offers and abundance of pillows and blankets. I can't forget to mention the gas fireplace. Turn it on and set the mood for a romantic evening. WE enjoyed our stay.

My fiancé and I have stayed at this listing several times and it had yet to disappoint. Laura is the most incredible host! Every exchange we have had has been so warm and inviting! We bring our yellow lab and have the most incredible weekend getaways enjoying the chic, cozy and comfortable cottage, the beautiful yard space overlooking the lake, and the breathtaking sunsets! The town and beach are are just a few short minutes drive down the road. Laura leaves an awesome list of restaurant recommendations that ALL panned to be incredible are literally just minutes away from the house! There are so many amenities availbel including kayaks and bikes to really enjoy the heart of Montauk! Perfect for couples or small families! Literally my favorite place to be in New York!

We had a fabulous time on our recent trip to Montauk. The house was amazing and looked like something out of a magazine. The location is great, peaceful but super close to town. Laura, our host, was prompt with check-in and check-out info and very welcoming. We won't hesitate to visit again - we will just have to make it a longer trip next time!

I wanted to stay at this property for a few years now. I’m so happy we finally did. The home is immaculate, charming, perfectly situated, close to town, with beautiful water access. Perfect for a couple or small family. We brought our two dogs and they could not have been happier. Wonderful fenced in yard and felt like we were away from the world (and didn’t have to fly anywhere!) A perfect way to enjoy a Montauk. I hesitate to write a review because I selfishly want to save this slice of heaven for myself!
