The host was welcoming and available for any requests. We feel the home was adequate but over-priced for the location and condition. Beautiful, wrap-around porch needed cleaning. Peaceful backyard with comfortable furniture.

It was very easy choosing this property to rent for a few days. And the check-in was even easier!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home from the 1890’s. We elected to take our friend with us and she was totally blown away!
There were plenty of sheets, blankets and towels. The only thing lacking was larger sized coffee cups and pan lids, but we managed just fine.
The property manager was very polite and close by if needed for anything. We would definitely recommend this rental home to everybody.

Wonderful!
If I could give 10 stars I would! The accommodations were first rate and beyond what was described down to the candies in the bedroom and treats in the kitchen. Wifi was good, porch was breezy, beds comfortable, and that bear claw bath tub.... :) . Check in was beyond easy . Our contact was kind and very helpful! Everything about this stay was exceptional--We will be back!!

Last Trip Before College Begins
We used the L'Anse location as a last outdoor adventure before dropping off a student at Michigan Tech, about 40-min away. It gave us a chance to hike as a family and play disc-golf. The property was a great old home nice rooms and some period pieces you would expect in such a home. The wrap around porch was the highlight as it was hot during the day and an evening on the porch was a nice way to relax.

Plenty of space!
After lots of driving and hiking, my teens and I loved that we had space to spread out when we returned for the night. The home was very comfortable and clean. Air conditioning upstairs would have made it perfect!

Winter retreat
We definitely enjoyed our extended stay at this historic home in L'Anse. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and all the cheery lights helped chase away the winter darkness. The house was very welcoming to come back to after a day out. Property manager, Therese, was always helpful and available to answer any of our questions. The neighborhood provides nice walking opportunities. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found this unique gem!

Charming stay in L'Anse
The house was emasculate and had the most beautiful character and charm. Centrally located. We came up for a nice fall weekend getaway and we're blown away by the hospitality and experience.

Just what we were looking for
The house was great, perfect size and location for us to make day trips to Marquette, Copper Harbor and the Porkies. The cookies upon arrival were an added bonus that didn’t last long.

Beautiful home in great location
How lovely it was to have this huge Victorian house to come back to every day after seeing the sights. We went up the Keeweenaw Peninsula, went to Porcupine Mountains, hiked to different waterfalls, fished from different spots (there are plenty!) enjoyed the beauty and closeness of Baraga Bay, and the town of L'Anse. We recommend driving around the bay to The Drive In- great burgers and some of the best chocolate custard we've ever had, and great prices. They all wore masks, were spraying and wiping down menus (plastic) after every use, and ran their butts off getting orders taken and bringing food to your car window. At the house, Therese, the property manager, was welcoming and so kind. She gave me a beautiful hand-made gift as a keepsake and remembrance as it was our 30th Anniversary. She gave us a map of the area and hints for places to check out. We wanted for nothing- the home is filled with everything you'll need. The towels were fluffy and absorbent, the bedding was so soft and clean, the laundry is upstairs and super convenient, laundry detergent, toilet paper, soap, paper towel- it's all provided which is rare and nice. The tv has satellite with Netflix to watch and loads of DVDs as well. Things were unplugged when we tried watching but luckily my husband knows what he's doing and knew what went where and got it hooked up. The wrap-around porch was lovely to sit out on when it was cooler and just relax with a drink. We also loved sitting on the white sofa and just enjoying the room. The AC cools the downstairs beautifully but you'll need the provided fans upstairs if it's hot when you stay. Worth it. :) If we ever come this far Up North again (and I hope we do) I'd definitely stay here again.

Beautiful property. Welcoming and helpful property manager. The house has everything you may need.
This property is amazing. You need only bring personal belongings. The grocery store is located just down the street. The beach a little further.
The house was a nice little retreat to return to at the end of each day.
Do not hesitate to book this property. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful Stay!
We had a wonderful stay - the home is comfortable and spacious. There is a nice large yard and my husband really loved sitting out on the porch watching the traffic. I loved the location and being able to walk into town. The area offers so much to do, we couldn't fit everything in - we will be back!!

Charming old victorian A+
The house is a big old Victorian with a lot of character, it was also possibly the cleanest rental house we've ever stayed in. Temps hit 90* while we were there and the central A/C was awesome coming back to after a day of biking and hiking. I wouldn't hesitate staying here again!

At home in a rental home! We were taken back to memories of our parents, grandparents and childhood
We were so comfortable, we wished we owned the house. Fascinated by antiques, pictures and furniture from eras passed. Most of all, awed by the woodwork and construction that we will never see in this era. It was beautiful, fully stocked, clean and comfy. A stay we would repeat. Therese, the caretaker, made cranberry oatmeal cookies that were heavenly. We loved sitting on the wrap around porch adorned with hanging baskets of flowers. We relaxed, had coffee, watched a mama deer and baby and enjoyed rain. Beach and town were within walking distance.

House worked out great for us. Very nice beds and the host even was nice enough to bake us cookies. Plenty of floor space for extras. Worked great for our sled trip.

We will be back
Great house, great people, great town. Clean and nice bedding. Just a great time! Loved having the caretaker near by to help. Therese was so sweet with baking us a pie and cookies. Getting us firewood and kindling. It was really sweet to make a new friend as well.

The house was perfect for us
At first we were unsure what to expect, this was out first time using homeaway and the pictures made the house look too fancy/antiquey for us. Upon arrival, the upper level had a nice tv and hang out area. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware we needed. The beds were super comfortable. The house has a massive deck with a firepit also. My only complaint is that the bathroom door on the first floor was pretty hard to close without feeling likw your going to pull off the handle. The owner was very responsive and answered all of my questions right away, couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Beauty, comfort and convenience
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful Victorian home. The owner Jacquelyn was very accommodating to our needs and the property manager Theresa was very helpful. She was so nice to return my daughter's bracelet which had been left behind! The beds are so comfy, there were nice soft, thirsty towels in the bathroom and the house was very clean. The kitchen is large and is well furnished with most likely whatever type of pot, pan or utensil you may need to cook for your family. Our pet dog loved the large yard and the long walks around the quiet neighborhood. The short distance to the Keweenaw Bay was a plus since we love the beautiful views! We would most definitely rent again on our next trip to the L'Anse area! Thanks for the good family memories!
