Got Rocks? We sure do.. This river property is a great place for a family vacation, a quiet escape, a ski trip in the winter, or some river fun in the summer. A short drive off Highway 105, this property is a central location to all the High County has to offer. Nestled at the foot of the Grandfather Mountain, you are minutes away from the profile, but also close to larger areas like Boone and Banner Elk.
Basic amenities include Direct TV and Internet, however you may not need them in the summer as you may want to sit outside on the back deck or gazebo swing and enjoy the soothing waters of the Watauga River. Flat land is at a premium in the mountains, and this property has an acre of flat land and the yard is a great place to bring the kids to play or fish along the river. A fire pit at the edge of the yard is also available for your use, with a small creek going by that feeds into the Watauga River.
The home has been recently renovated and has been expanded to include generous decking and a sunroom. The kitchen is adjacent to the open concept family living and dining room areas. The home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The Master Bedroom has fantastic views of the river and has its own private bathroom.
You will enjoy this river retreat. This home is perfect for families, couples or a group of friends getting away for the weekend. There is lots to do from hiking and shopping in the summer to skiing in the winter. This location is a short 5 minute driver from Sugar Mountain Ski resort. Why stay in a small hotel room when you can enjoy the beauty of the mountains from your back deck?
**Note, this VRBO is not in Echota, if it comes up in the search that way, it is the closest listing to Boone we could select
**Property may only be available to rent with a 3-4 minimum night stay around holidays. Please inquire about dates as we will try our best to accommodate.

Our 5th time here, and it delighted as always. Well-appointed, comfortable, and perfect for a family. We love this beautiful little paradise.

We had a great time socializing by the incredible babbling creek. Lots of space and nice property. The only thing is the wood rockers in the gazebo smelled really bad from mold and mildew. We moved them out of the gazebo.

The house is very comfortable and well stocked. The setting is amazing. It is beautifully landscaped and the sound of the river in front and from the Gazebo in back is the most relaxing, peaceful place I’ve ever felt in our beautiful North Carolina mountains. We have already booked it for the fall.

This is a great house with the loveliest yard. It was neat and clean and had everything we needed. I fell asleep to the creek rushing outside the bedroom window. (It rained for the two days we were there.) I encountered one neighbor while walking my dog and he was friendly as could be. It’s 10 minutes to Banner Elk and 15 to Boone. Bring a hairdryer as I was unable to locate one in the house. Also this house is below grade of Road 105. If you are a light sleeper, the occasional nighttime truck may wake you.

It was a great gathering place for our adult children to join us for a family vacation. The location is convenient to many activities. The house was clean and well-stocked with basics. The river wraps around 3 sides of the property. We enjoyed the soothing sounds of the river and relaxed around the fire pit. We look forward to returning for another visit!

The house was as expected, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen needs some updated equipment but we would clearly go back and stay again!

This property is amazing! As soon as I opened my car door, I could hear the river and was in love. The house is as described. All we did was bring our groceries because the kitchen had what we needed. But, I would suggest you check and purchase what you need if you plan anything special menus. Our dogs enjoyed the river and being outside. We bought 15' tie outs that we used to hang out by the fire pit where we did a hot dog roast and marshmallows. The house is conveniently located to Boone and Banner Elk. Lots to do around the area. The area is very safe with good lights around the property at night. We absolutely loved this place and will be back as soon as we can.

The house was perfect for our family of 4 and our pups. Check-in was easy, home was clean and comfortable and equipped with the standard kitchen items needed to cook a few meals at the home as well as paper products/dish soap/etc. The river bubbling through the property was so relaxing from the porch. We can’t wait to visit again!

My son and I stayed here for the week during spring break. We had a great time and the host was super accommodating for me to bring our special needs cat along. It was close enough to hikes and a grocery store but not too close. The creek was super nice to enjoy. The only downfall is that it’s is in a neighborhood and right off the main highway.
We enjoyed our entire week and didn’t want to leave. Thank you for sharing this great place!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Got Rocks. The house was comfortable and the location was nice. We were gone skiing most of the days, so we didn’t utilize much of the outdoors (gazebo, grill, fire pit, creek), but I bet it would be really nice during the warmer parts of the year. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals, and we picked up pizza one evening from Bella’s restaurant nearby. Make sure you bring your own toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc) or plan to buy toiletries at a nearby store. Overall, we would recommend staying here if you’re in the Sugar Mountain area. It was an easy drive to the slopes.

Property was perfect for my family and our dog. It was very clean and comfortable and the location was beautiful. We went to ski Sugar Mountain and found that it was a short 10 minute drive which was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.

My family (kids age 6 and 10) loved our short but very nice stay at this property. The house is surrounded maybe 200 to 250 degrees by a beautiful river/stream with waterfall and rapids. There is an awesome gazebo with grill and smoker in the back and a great area for the kids to investigate with a little adult supervision. The road is close by but there is a cliff and river between the property and the road. You can see the vehicles if you are looking for them but won’t notice the if you are not looking for them and the river noise mostly drowns out the road noise. My kids want to come back over the summer!

I wanted to record my satisfaction with my stay in this house, we had a wonderful time as a family, the house was well organized, with all the kitchen utensils, clean bedding, in fact, the house was clean and smelling good! This house will stay in our archive so we can return in the summer

The home was very clean and had whatever you may have needed. Very comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better. Has a mountain stream with a gazebo and a picnic table close to stream. Planning on returning in a different season so can enjoy the beautiful outside. Had 2 TV’s and 2 fireplaces - an electric and a gas! We stayed very cozy with the extreme cold.

Our third fall “mini” vacation at this property. We love it! Comfortable - secluded but close to both Boone and Banner Elk. The perfect place for a weekend retreat - but close to restaurants, breweries and grocery stores. Can’t recommend it enough. We will be back next year.

Enjoyed the stay at got rocks! Loved the gazebo and the fire pit. My doggies definitely loved the outside. Would definitely stay there again. Location was great. Loved being beside the river. Was some traffic noise when outside but couldn't hear it inside. My grandson accompanied us at the last minute and he enjoyed it also

We loved how remote this cabin felt. We brought two old dogs that enjoyed sunbathing in the yard. Our 2 and 6 year old spent hours playing in the beautiful creek. We loved the proximity to town and comfort of the home. We will surely be back!

We loved to sit with windows up listening to the creek. My son loved exploring the creek. A very relaxing peaceful weekend!

Property is nestled in trees, surrounded by a bubbling creek, and feels remote while being just off the highway. The house is comfortable and well-appointed with lovely play and sitting areas outside. Our dog and 5-year old loved exploring the gardens (apple and pear trees and a butterfly garden) and walking the entrance road. If you have little ones, be sure to watch for the neighbor's fairy homes along the way.

The house was clean and beds were comfortable. The outside was absolutely beautiful with the most gorgeous creek surrounding the property. Loved the fire pit 😊

Perfect in every way! It was exactly what we were looking for. Location was centrally located to restaurants and shopping. Loved sitting in the gazebo listening to the river on the rocks. Will definitely stay here again!

The house was compact but worked well with a good design. A rare opportunity to fish the mostly private upper Watauga river.

This was our 4th time at Got Rocks. The upgrades were nice, and we found the kitchen easier to maneuver. The master bedroom mattress was also nice. The property is just wonderful, big and green and shady, with lots of access to the river. It's a perfect place to relax and explore, and the surrounding area has so much to do and see. I have no doubt we'll be back again.

Fantastic property right on the river. We arrived during a rain storm so the river was quite high. It did go back to normal levels the next day. The location is great and close to everything you want to do.

It’s a cozy little house next to a beautiful babbling brook. Close to many attractions. The street in and out is tricky because of its location, but really had a great time.

Beautiful piece of property and being able to hear sounds of the stream from anywhere on the property. Bathroom sink was not working, but no big deal. Property was clean for an older home and had all of the basic necessities needed.

We always enjoy the accommodations and being able to relax plus having the convenience of being close to many attractions and good food. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Our second stay at this property. Very close to Banner Elk and Boone and all that those places have to offer, yet quiet and secluded. Wonderful house and yard surrounded by a river and stream. House is clean and comfortable - a wonderful space to relax and get sewn from it all. Highly recommended!
