About this cabin rental
The Gallery Cabin, a 100 year-old log cabin, lovingly refurbished with a new bathroom and kitchenette. Perfect for singles or couples the 240 square foot cabin has a brand new queen size bed, kitchen nook with sink, microwave, kettle, toaster, toaster oven and fridge, and a bathroom with shower and towel warming rack. Breakfast makings are provided: delicious fresh organic wood-fired sour dough bread provided by Francis Bread, home-made granola, jam, milk, juice, eggs, butter, bread, fruit and coffee and teas. A private deck soaks up the afternoon sun with a table, chairs and BBQ.
The Gallery Cabin is on the 2 1/2 acre property of Celia Duthie & Nicholas Hunt - with 1 other rental (Gallery B&B). Garden and forest views.
The cabin is a short walk from the nearby village Ganges, Churchill beach, and across the street from the prestigious Hastings House Hotel. There is a public bus service from the ferry terminals so guests can (if they wish) come to the island without a car and enjoy the island by foot, bus, kayak or rental scooter.
Salt Spring Island has an embarrassment of riches in art and music with many galleries, studios, and music venues. The Saturday Market, with farm produce, cheeses, and crafts, is a perennial favorite.
A good time to come to the island is often the off season, when the almost always temperate weather is fine for golfing, biking, walking, exploring the island or taking one of many excellent art and craft courses offered throughout the year.

The cabin was the perfect little place for us and our pup to stay while we explored what Salt Spring Island and Ganges had to offer. Just a short walk away from various eateries and the stores yet located far enough away from the roads so that we could leave the screened windows open during the evening / night to listen to nature all around.
If you're wanting quaint and cozy, then look no further.

What a great , unspoiled and accessible place to stay. Simple, charming and a real retreat from the frenetic activity of city life. Highly recommended and would love to stay again, only for much longer.

We've stayed here before and we'll be coming back! A lovely little cabin that's just right (in our opinion) for a couple. An easy walk in to Ganges with all its' restaurants and shops, but it feels secluded and private. The hosts provide simple breakfast fixings. It is just enough for two, but no more. A wonderful base to enjoy Salt Spring Island.

We stayed here during our wedding on the island. It was the perfect quiant and quiet location away from the ceremony. Nestled among the trees, you’ll have a comfy bed and small kitchentte to enjoy the fresh Francis Bread loaf and plum jam. It's walking distance to Mobys Pub and Ganges which is also positive. Charming all around!

An ideal old log cabin, updated beautifully, the perfect between rustic and modern needs. Thoughtfully considered in very corner. Lots of nearby trails and a nice walk to village of Ganges. And the clincher was waking up to a fresh loaf of gorgeous *warm* bread in the morning hanging on the doorknob.

I had a quiet stay on the property. The sweet peas in the kitchen window were a nice touch. There were some basic items available to eat in the fridge, a microwave, toaster oven - that kind of thing. Everything was clean and in order. I was with my dog, and liked that there were a few trails and places where we could take short walkabouts (on leash of course) around the property.

Note that the place is as advertised. Very compact. comfy bed and sheets. Everything worked as advertised and close to Ganges.

Cute little cabin. Very basic but pleasant stay. Blackout curtains would help as it was very bright early in the morning. Note that the bakery mentioned in some of the other reviews is no longer next door.

Great location a short walk to Ganges, 15-20 minutes, this is good for couples who are used to sharing cozy spaces. The cabin is quite comfortable but the kitchen is essentially one at a time. The hosts are next door and very helpful. We love it; this was our second stay and we plan to return.

Enticed by 100 year old cabin, it delivered, along with modern conveniences. There is a cute trail halfway down the street and lovely surprise at the end of the street with ocean access. Easy short walk to town centre.

The cottage was incredibly cute and cozy, just right for 2 adults and a pet. It has all the basic amenities, and the wonderful hosts provided all the fixings for an amazing breakfast! They addressed an issue we had promptly, and the early (2pm) check-in was a bonus. It was centrally located and walkable to restaurants, yet isolated enough to see the beautiful night sky. Thank you for an incredible stay at a great home.

The cabin was perfect for our stay, and so peaceful. We slept like babies in the very comfortable bed. The artwork in the cabin and garden were fabulous. We would definitely stay again - thank you for the little touches (eggs, bread etc.) they make a big difference

We loved the quirky little cabin. It had all we needed and more. Fresh eggs, homemade granola and yoghurt, artisan sourdough bread, so many nice touches. Thank you for hosting us!!

Great stay, awesome location. It is a short walk to Mobeys Pub or into Ganges town. Once the local traffic passing by died down you could hear the owl calling ... awesome!! The cottage is just the perfect size for two. Everything was on hand the only complaint we have is the pillows!! Two firmer pillows would do the trick!! Other than that we have no compaints and would happily recommend the stay!!!

We had a wonderful stay and will absolutely be back. The breakfast supplies are lovely, the hosts are friendly, and the property is beautiful. This cabin was simply a delight. Best suited to 1-2 people. It’s a really adorable place. You can see the thought they put into every little thing, and they’ve made great use of the space.

We stayed 3 nights in September 2022 and had a great time. Location was fantastic. The bread and breakfast fixings were amazing. We rode our bikes to the north part of the island one day and the south the next. We ate dinner in Ganges and loved walking to the end of Churchill for a quick dip. Our only note was the bed wasn't the best, but it comfy enough for some much needed R&R. Thank you!

This little cabin is simple, clean and comfortable just as depicted on the website and with everything that we needed.
It was a 10 minute walk to Ganges where there were plenty of places to eat and shop with lovely markets on Tuesday and Saturday for local produce and art/craft.
It was a lovely treat to have breakfast left with homemade yogurt, granola, jam, bread eggs and coffee.
A bit like camping in the woods with a lot more comfort.
We’d definitely recommend it and would stay again if we are ever in this part of the world again.
Thank you Celia

The cozy well appointed log cabin, surrounded by tall trees, sits next to a world-class bakery. The aroma of baking bread and pastries is heavenly. Flaky croissants and fresh eggs are supplied for self-administered breakfasts. The hosts are gracious and welcoming. It’s a 15-minute walk into Ganges. Highly recommended.

The cabin was very cosy and the bread jams and other treats were a nice little touch very close to the town easy to walk to. My only criticism is the bed is terribly uncomfortable and the mattress should probably be replaced otherwise everything else was really nice and we really enjoyed our stay.

Our second stay was equally as enjoyable as the first. Cabin has all you need. Perfect setting for sitting outside on the deck listening to the wildlife. Walking distance to town, Salt Spring wild and the Woodshed/Francis bread. Can’t wait to book our next stay. Thank you

Charming Cabin in Ganges
We stayed at this charming little cabin for three nights in May 2022. It is well located just outside of downtown Ganges. The hostess was really nice and check-in was easy. The breakfast treats were very tasty and plentiful. The cabin has everything you might need for a short get away for two people.
