Older but comfortable. Had issue with heater in front porch. Made it great.

cottage is cute and close to YNP. One of us used to live in Gardiner and was nice to return
House has everything you need for your stay.
Lots of dog hair on the sofa but we knew it was pet friendly
Would not hesitate to rebook

We enjoyed the older home and the little town. I thought the fenced in yard would be bigger per pictures in the listing but overall a nice place.

Walking distance to shops, restaurants, and north entrance of Yellowstone. Quiet, pretty town.

I expected this property to be a bit isolated. It was not. It was tucked among many other homes. There is no way to get in to the front door, you must follow the directions to go through the back door. There were bugs and spiders in the house and the yard is much more overgrown than the picture implies. The location is within walking distance of many places but overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

None of the online pictures are accurate. We were a little shocked when we first arrived and entered the house. We entered from the back where the carport is which is pretty much the entrance you will use throughout your stay. The first rooms you walk thru are misleading to the rest of the house. They really need a "face lift" and are not welcoming. However all appliances work well with no issues. The master room bed slept pretty good for my wife and I. The kids said the other beds were fair. All in all we enjoyed our stay after warming up to the place. Note there is a pet smell that you must get used to. The location is great. We had 2 elk in the driveway our last morning which was pretty cool. This is an honest review and hopefully the owner receives it as constructive criticism.

Old
Something you would expect in an old town, but to list this property for rental is insane. I wouldn't step foot in the bathtub and my daughter saw spiders run out of the rug in front of the toilet. The dryer was hooked up using extension cords. We stayed one night and went to Cody, Wyoming the next day instead of staying the second night. The accommodations in Cody were wonderful. If they want to list this property I would suggest some rennovation.

Close proximity to YNP
There were some very charming/rustic aspects of this property as a whole, but the cleanliness was an issue. The bathroom was pretty gross and none of the family really wanted to use it.

Awesome location
This place is cute and location is awesome.
Fenced yard is extra for dogs and it seems larger than pictures. Everything is well stocked and it is nice to have cleaning supplies that we could clean up some everyday stuff.
House is kind of old and need some work, like bathroom, most of area was clean but need detail cleaning after guests.
Owner replied quickly and very helpful.

The location of the property is great! But the pictures were misleading. It was very disappointing after a very long hot day to find the air conditioning was a simple window unit completely away from the sleeping areas. The bedding was so thin and wore out you could see through it. Very uncomfortable and kinda gross. Sheets didn’t fit the bed, popped off all night. Tried to pull up the broken and dirty blinds to try and get more air circulation, unfortunately that wasn’t an option. The screens were ripped or missing. Again, the location is great just not a comfortable stay.

Eclectic
Really quaint, great location, perfect if you have a dog - the fenced in yard was key! Comfortably fit 6 + 2 dogs. Amazing mountain views. Would stay there again.

Great Location
Stayed here with my daughter for a Yellowstone national park vacation. The location is great and the property is cozy. It's walking distance to most places in Gardiner (shops and dining). It's a bit eclectic but it was clean, comfortable, furnished, and everything worked fine. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location in Gardiner!
Gardiner is an excellent town to explore the Park and the town itself. This house is perfect walking distance to really good watering holes and restaurants. Alex was awesome getting back to me with a couple minor requests and was very understanding/welcoming when it came to our dogs being there. Will look this place up again in the future!

Stay at Alex's house in Gardiner Mt
The home was clean and spacious and worked great for our kids who stayed there for a wedding. It was very conveniently located where we could walk to everything. We were able to hang out in the yard at a nice table and chairs to visit, as well as in the dining area in the evening. There were plenty of plates, utensils, etc. so we were able to cook and eat together. There was no entrance into the home or yard from the front where some of us parked, so had to go around the block to get in the back entrance. Not a big deal but something to know. All in all a great experience.

Fantastic little cottage with a view of the mountains from the alley, and an adorably manicured yard
We LOVE the cottage! This is our second time staying in this house when we come to Yellowstone. The house is adorable and homey, and Alex is a great person to rent from. Anytime we come back, we'll definitely stay at Alex's cottage!

Loved the little town of Gardiner and Alex was a responsive host. We took full advantage of the kitchen and market down the road.

Needs TLC
This place had good beds and was very close to the park entrance. Restaurants, bars, and shops within two/three blocks; good grocery store about a mile away. Although description advertised TV, there was Netflix only, no other TV. Kitchen was dark with no dishwasher. Silverware, pots and pans were dirty, with food waste in one pot and others with a greasy sheen. We washed all food use items before eating or cooking from them. Coffee carafe was badly cracked. The house was old, shabby, and quirky. It needed painting, lighting was inadequate, floor coverings were worn, and bathroom had very old fixtures. Curtain was pulled loose from traverse rod in living room and living room rug in front of fireplace was pulled loose .Although check out instructions were to start a load of laundry, there was no detergent or softener available, so we had to purchase these. The grounds were overgrown, and junky. The back door to the parking alley could not be locked from the outside, which required going through the house to the front and around over uneven rock steps. This would be problematic for persons with impaired mobility.
This place was overpriced for the condition of the property. We would not stay here again.

Great location, house needs some TLC
My three friends and I stayed two nights at this home in Gardiner, Montana. The location in Gardiner and in proximity to North Yellowstone is excellent. Upon arrival the house is a little difficult to find and get in to but if you follow the directions you should have no problem. I recommend getting there during the daytime because at night it might be more difficult. The communication with the owner was good. The house, on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. The pictures don't exactly represent what the house looks like. We found the house to not be very clean. Many of the window coverings were broken and a curtain inside the house separating the front porch from the main home was in really bad shape. The bathroom was functional. The towels were nice and having the use of the laundry is a definite plus. The outside was very overgrown and unkempt . The stairway from the lower level to the upper level in the yard was a bit precarious because of some overgrown bushes that needed to be cut back. Having a key that works both the back door and the front door would be helpful.
I am a VRBO/HomeAway owner and I feel that providing a clean and safe home is paramount to my guests. This home does not use a cleaning service or housekeeper, there was a note that said please leave the home in good shape for the next guest. I personally don't find that acceptable. Had I realized that was the case I probably would not have rented this home but there was very limited availability in the area for the dates we needed so we didn't have much to choose from.
The Wi-Fi was good and there was Netflix available on TV. There is no regular TV available which is OK because you're not there that much.
This is an older home, like much of the town around it. It does have its unique, quirky charm and as I mentioned, the location is excellent. The home sleeps seven people. There are basically two rooms plus a sofa bed and a single bed in the enclosed porch. I think the home just needs a little extra love and upkeep. I did suggest to the owner that they charge a cleaning fee and hire a professional housecleaner between guests. I hope this review helps you make an informed decision if you're considering renting this home.

Good Location for Yellowstone
Stone Street Cottage is in a perfect location for visiting Yellowstone. It's less than a 5 minute walk to the north entrance of the park. The house is aged and dated but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. One suggestion I have is to install a grab bar in the shower. Alex even had a large Playmate cooler available for guests to use.

Clean cabin. Great location.
Great location, central to restaurants and conveniences. Perfect place to trek from into the park. Could have been awesome if a little more attention was paid to the details. No toilet paper or coffee. Towels smelled musty.

Great location for access to Yellowstone
Excellent proximity to Yellowstone North entrance. Gardiner is a nice little town with grocery, gas and little restaurant/shops all within walking distance. The house was adequate for our family of 7. Having only one bathroom was a challenge. Only one window A/C unit located in dining room to cool the home, ceiling fan in master bedroom helped but the home was on the warm side for our taste. Host was easy to work with and very responsive.

Fantastic cottage space near Yellowstone Park North Entrance
We loved staying at this little cottage near the entrance of Yellowstone in Gardiner, MA. The rooms were perfect, the kitchen was wonderful, and the washer/dryer was a nice surprise! We enjoyed our coffee in the beautiful front yard with a view of the mountains! We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Location
The wife and I and our two dogs stayed for 3 nights. Perfect spot for us to stay for our Yellowstone trip. Older but quaint house, way more room than we needed. House was clean and everything worked fine. Fenced in yard was great for our dogs, and we had views of the sunset over Electric Peak from the yard. You can walk to the end of the alley and see the Roosevelt Arch, it is that close to the entrance. And Gardiner was a fun small town to walk around after our Park visits. The elk were all over the place and was fun to watch them and listen to them bugling at night. Great spot.

FANTASTIC stay for a Yellowstone Weekend
Stone Street Cottage exceeded our expectations for a wonderful weekend at Yellowstone National Park. Looking for a place to stay that will get you into the Park early to see the wildlife? This place will fit you to a tee. A cozy home with free Wifi, great tasting water, excellent hot water for showers, and a very functional kitchen will help you recharge after a long day at Yellowstone. For its size, there was plenty of room to spread out. We appreciated the free Netflix for a movie on our second night, to help wind down the trip. Alex is great to work with, and we appreciated the very clean homey atmosphere. Would definitely come back here in the future.

Couldn't find the house number or house easily as its completely covered. Owner wasn't reachable when we couldn't find the key. Ended up in the treasure hunt. Bathroom door lock wasn't proper. Otherwise, stay was good. Very close to north entrance.

Nice house very close to Yellowstone North Gate
A very nice, cozy house, just minutes away from the north gate of Yellowstone. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay. An extra full or queen bed would've been preferred over a sofa bed to sleep 7 comfortably.

Excellent location, comfortable home, lots of room.
We had a great stay at the blue stone cottage as a family of four. Lots of room to spread out in the house at the end of a long day exploring Yellowstone. The location is peerless--you can crane your neck and see Roosevelt Arch, and walk to all shops and restaurants on the south side of the Yellowstone River. Quick drive to a grocery store and gas station. The house is comfortable and generally well equipped. We appreciated being able to run a load of laundry mid-stay. Alex was very friendly and responsive to questions. Really enjoyable stay and would book again. Thanks!

Great location and clean cottage. Loved the fenced in yard!
We had a wonderful stay here and were very pleased with how close it was to the park entrance. We were able to bring our dogs with us and it was such a treat that they had a fenced in yard. The home was clean and fit our needs just fine. Alex was very responsive with the few questions I had. The beds were pretty comfy but could perhaps use some new pillows. Thanks for everything!
