Gary insisted on texting me on my cell phone instead of the VRBO messaging platform which I was uncomfortable with. He also insisted on meeting us in person to let us into the property. It came across distrustful, not the "warm New Orleans welcome" he played it off as. The house was fine! Mattresses were good, but there were not a lot of pillows available and some of the extra linens felt dirty. Like with any older home you can hear everything so keep that in mind if looking at this property! While the location was great being so close to our family reunion, I think for the cost- next time we're better off just finding a hotel.

We had an outstanding visit to New Orleans! The house was amazing for us! We had 4 couples as part of our group and everyone had their own bedroom. The location was convenient for everything we wanted to do.

If you want to be in a great location away from the NOLA tourist traps, this is the place for you. The house is spacious, within walking distance to all that Magazine St. has to offer including Guy’s Poboys! Our host met us at arrival and gave us a walkthru of the house, which is clean and well kept. He was communicative from the very beginning and really set the tone for our great stay. Highly recommend!!

This house was perfect for our family’s first trip to New Orleans. It is a beautiful/safe/quiet neighborhood and the house is situated perfectly to walk to Magazine street which is lined with great restaurants, shops, etc. The house is very spacious, with comfortable bed rooms and lots of baths, making it a great place for stays over a long period of time. Gary was easy to communicate with and an accommodating host. Highly recommended!

Several family members were staying at this property for a long weekend. There was plenty of space for us. We hosted a dinner party for 14 people and were happy to have the two kitchens to prepare. It would have been nice to have one large space to accommodate eating all together. The bathrooms are nice. Some of the furnishings could be spruced up.

I've stayed in numerous rentals in New Orleans over the years, and this is the best ever. It's extremely well-appointed, clean, convenient, comfortable, and the owner simply couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. Out of five stars, it has to be rated a six.

Our family included 2 children, 7 and 9, and 5 adults. We are frequent visitors to New Orleans and this location is ideal, close to restaurants, coffee shops and Whole Foods. With 6 bathrooms, 2 kitchens and 2 livings rooms we could spread out and relax before our frequent neighborhood walks. We all enjoyed this comfortable home.

This property is perfect for a larger family gathering, offering plenty of space in a great location! Blocks for popular Magazine Street as well as Trolley stops that allow for easy access to various parts of New Orleans including the French Quarter.
My family and I stayed her for Easter and having access to two big kitchens helped with prepping a fantastic Easter Day brunch.
The property was extremely clean, spacious and Gary was fantastic to work with throughout the entire trip (as well as leading up to it). He was very accommodating with all of our requests and was always available if he had any questions. All around great experience!

Came to New Orleans for the FSU vs LSU football game. Four Couples. Its not often you fine a VRBO with four king size beds, but this one does. In addition it was clean and comfy, nearby to restaurants and an easy walk or Uber to anywhere in town.
Gary was super easy to communicate with and very helpful, providing his long list of recommendations for restaurants and nightlife.
100% Recommend.

You can’t find a better place!
I had the absolute best time at our recent stay at Gary’s property. Not only was the house beautiful, clean and accurate to the listing but Gary was more than accommodating for any request or questions we had prior to arriving and throughout our stay. I would absolutely love to come back and stay at this location anytime. As far as location goes, you get the New Orleans charm without the New Orleans noise and you’re only a quick ride from downtown in the French quarter. 10/10 recommend a stay here for you and your group!

Great property, great location.
Wife and I hosted our progeny for our 50th anniversary. Great having everyone together rather than being spread out over multiple hotel rooms. Gary offered various bedding arrangements which worked out perfectly. He had everything ready on our arrival and met us on arrival after hours. We've stayed at several VRBO properties over the years. All were good, but this was by far the best. Walked to shops and restaurants on Magazine, Audubon park, and the river. Neighborhood felt safe, even at night. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Tulane Family Weeeknd
This property was great for my group of teens through grandparents. We had the entire house and found it remarkably quiet between the 2 sides -- grandparents up early for coffee didn't bother the teens sleeping in. And late night TV watching didn't both the early to bed crowd. The location was great (several restaurants and grocery stores a short walk or drive), neighborhood felt safe, streetcar was a few blocks away, and I think we could have even walked to campus. Gary was super responsive and very easy to reach.

Perfect Place for Parent Weekend
We decided on a Thursday to drive down to New Orleans the next day for the weekend to visit our son at Tulane. We found Gary’s property last minute and are so lucky we did. He is an exceptional host and communicator - even called to confirm our booking and met us at property to make sure we had everything. The house is super spacious, very clean and well appointed. Plus, in the perfect location - walkable to Magazine Street, Whole Foods and tons of shops and restaurants. 1.1 miles to Audubon Park and less than 2 miles to Tulane and Loyola Campuses. We love this area of town and can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Thanks for an incredible weekend Gary! We will be back.

Family Birthday Bash
The property was perfect for our needs. Celebrating a birthday, the family converged on NOLA for the weekend. 2 Kitchens, 6 bath areas, 2 living rooms, plenty of on street parking, quiet neighborhood, 1 block from bus stop. There were 8 of us and it worked out great for visiting.

Perfect for big group of 9
We were a bunch out out of towners in for a wedding. Gary’s place was a perfect base for our weekend. House has tons of beds, plenty of rooms and lots of bathrooms. Great local decor with lots of good resources about Nola. Gary was great to work with. An Airbnb host cancelled on us last minute and Gary was very accommodating to our group and willing to let us host a rehearsal dinner at the property. Neighborhood is perfect for an all ages Nola experience. Quiet, easy walking to restaurants and shops on Magazine street. Convenient to get to at St Charles trolley. We would stay here again

Amazing host and perfect location
We rented both sides of the house and it worked perfect for us for sleeping arrangements. Everything was clean and everything worked great. A cable box went out and Gary was there within the hour to drop off a new one. He’s the most responsive I’ve ever encountered in renting houses. Location was perfect for us being close to magazine. The only thing that I will say that needs attention is new bath towels and updated pans, pots, etc. I addressed this with Gary and he is planning on(probably already has) updating those items. Oh, and need grill accessories or maybe I just could find them. The grill lit with the press of a button, which was a unexpected surprise. Mine doesn’t even do that. We are actually from Nola so we like to cook. Most others wouldn’t even have noticed the pots and pans, etc. Overall a great experience and we will be back! Whichever Gary is affiliated with house wise I will consider staying there.

Authentic New Orleans Experience with a dash of Southern Hospitality
Gary is a fantastic host providing all the necessary information and recommendations for you to truly take advantage of the prime uptown location. House is warm and comfortable providing great common space for you to enjoy with your family/friends. Kitchens are modern with all appliances at your disposal for meal preparation. Will definitely consider returning to "Big Blue" on a future visit, or perhaps one of the other properties Gary manages if looking for a smaller home.

Big Blue Heaven
This house was perfect for our family attending the Tulane Graduation. Gary was a great host giving us a local's view on what to do. House is very convenient to great shopping and Whole Foods on Magazine St. as well as a range of restaurants to choose from. Starting with coffee on the front porch in the morning the house handled our group of 9 from kids to grandparents with ease. We highly recommend.
