We love this cozy cabin and the beautiful scenery overlooking the river. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and fishing. It was a perfect getaway for our family.

Lovely house with an awesome view and great proximity to GNP. Everything was great. Check in and check out was super easy, no problems. Lots of extras including well stocked kitchen and soaps and linens, bear spray, fishing poles, hiking poles. Would love to stay here again.

The location was great if you in enjoy solitude, and just a short trip to the west entrance of GNP. Breathtaking views of the river from the deck and so many helpful items for travelers (including hiking poles, fishing items, and bear spray- thank you!! FYI wonderful place, and getting to the river is challenging but also fun and exciting— so not appropriate for some younger children—
Hosts were kind and let us have an early check in after a day of driving— very much appreciated.

The house was clean, well-kept and has an amazing view of the river. The main bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor, a second bedroom and bathroom in the loft and more sleeping options and another bathroom in the basement. Very spacious interior, well-furnished.
Be advised that the last part of the road to the cabin is narrow with several switchbacks, and there are stairs to get from the vehicle parking to the cabin.

We really enjoyed our time at this home. Beautiful river view and great access to GNP. Downstairs was musty but air humidifier helped which we ran the entire week. The house was comfortable for three couples. Kitchen is tight for more than one person to be working. We ate most of our meals at the house and cooked fresh caught trout on the grill. This is. Or a fancy place but comfortable and great access to the park which is what we were going for with this rental.

Incredible property overlooking Flathead River and rapids. Spacious living room, bedrooms, fully equipped basement complete with a pool table made for an amazing stay. Perfectly situated for a short drive to Glacier National Park!

We enjoyed our stay! Comfortable beds and all of the amenities you need. Kitchen well stocked. Close to Glacier. To get to the river is not easy. Lots of steps and a rope but overall we would stay here again.

This house was fabulous. We rented this property because of its proximity to Glacier. There were 3 couples and it fit us perfectly. Dick the owner was very helpful and had stocked the house with everything you might need from Bear spray to fishing poles and even wood for an outside fire.
But what we loved, as an artist and husband a fly fisherman, was the ability to reach the Flathead river. There are stairs that go right down to the river. The guys hired a guide on Monday but ended catching more fish from the river in front of the cabin. We enjoyed our week of hiking, fishing, shopping and painting.

House was great and well equipped- including bear spray and fishing poles and swimming towels and coolers. Location is perfect for Glacier. Many hikes in and outside of the park. Close to town yet tucked away in the trees and overlooking the River- not another house in sight. I will stay here again.

This cabin is located with easy access to the west entrance to Glacier National Park and the Flathead River. The cabin itself comfortably accommodated the six of us for after fishing barbecuing, evening games and entertainment.

The view is unbelievable
What a great place to stay. The view is breathtaking. It is picture-perfect. The location is great! 10 min from Glacier. The house is very clean. It is decorated beautifully. They are working on a few small things but nothing that got in the way. The little extras at the house made our stay even better. We can wait to come back.

The location to Glacier National
park is amazing about 10 min drive. The view of the river is beautiful. There were canoes or kayaks to use on the river, although we didn’t use them. There was bear spray available for use - we carried it each day. That was a nice addition. A nice BBQ grill. A propane heater unit on the deck was nice for the cool evenings. The cabin has great potential. The bed was comfortable and firm! The appliances were clean and well cared for. Use of the washer and dryer were helpful. The overall cleanliness of the place was very poor. The floor was extremely dirty with sticky places under the table. The end tables, lamps etc were very dusty. Cobwebs and dust on the light fixtures Dead spiders in the upper windows. The table was sticky - couldn’t ever get it clean. Crumbs under the table placemats. Crumbs in the silverware holder. New fly tape stored with the utensils. A 1 inch gap between the wood flooring and the kitchen tile with crumbs in the crack. We spent several hours wiping things down and sanitizing. Even though the view was beautiful, the lack of cleanliness will stop us from returning here again. Needs more attention to details.

The most gorgeous view
A beautiful house near Glacier National Park, to rest and recreate and to engage in many wanter activities and visit the park. The house is really comfortable for a family of 5. The basement sleeps 4, but is pretty cold and humid and the shower is small. It is possibly great for children to stay down there so adults can have some peace and quiet. The kitchen is stacked and the owner is very nice in offering to entertain with activities in nature.

Heaven on earth
What a beautiful location! If you need serenity, this is the place. From the wonderful hospitality from the owner to the rushing sounds of the river as you sit in the deck, we couldn’t ask for more. The kids loved the pool table for rainy evenings and enjoyed the fire pit on the other nights. Enjoyed our breakfast on the patio each day with the patio heater. Dick not only had excellent suggestions for the area,, but he took us out to Echo Lake, dropped his 5 boats for us to use. We all enjoyed a beautiful morning on the lake. We appreciate the use of hiking sticks and bear spray as well! Highly recommend!!!

Amazing view and tranquil setting.
The property was close and convenient to the West Glacier park entrance, yet off the main highway, so it’s quiet and secluded. Views from the family room and the deck were amazing, overlooking the river. Dick met us there when we arrived and took the time to show us around the house and property. We spent mornings and evenings enjoying the deck, where we grilled out...and there was also a nice spot for a small campfire where we enjoyed making s’mores for dessert. They had everything we needed for a perfect vacation week. We will certainly stay here again for our next visit to Glacier National Park.

Wonderful house is great location
Our family of five and my mother just returned from this rental and it was amazing! We spent a week exploring Glacier Park and the surrounding area. Each time we’d pass another rental or hotel we’d say we were so glad we had The River House. The location on the river was spectacular! It was 10 minutes to the Glacier Park entrance and not even a mile to several restaurants. You’d never know you were that close to everything because the home is tucked away in a private wooded area. The home was very clean, well organized and comfortable. It was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The beds were comfortable and the views were amazing. The homeowner was very nice and explained everything we needed to know. The temps outside were especially warm while we were there so we took advantage of swimming in the river more than once. The stairs down to the river are steep but well built and pretty easy to maneuver. However, last 1/4 of the way down does not include stairs so it can get tricky on the rocks. The descent is not suitable for small children or those with bad knees or balance issues. However, we managed just fine with a walking stick. The water is crystal clear. We swam and my husband went fly fishing. We felt special because no other home had a way down to the river like that. 😁� I have already recommended this home to several family friends because we enjoyed it so much. I would absolutely rent it again!

Wonderful Home Close to Glacier
We enjoyed our stay at this home in Hungry Horse in July 2019. There were a few pleasant surprises, one being that the loft bedroom had its own bathroom! The house was clean and the view was wonderful.
The owner greeted us on arrival and went over a few things. We did need to call mid week for garbage removal, but when we returned from our hike in the park we found it taken care of.
The grill was well maintained and got hot quick. It was great for some salmon and steaks.
The wifi was decent. It was not very usable in the basement bedroom and it was still a bit slow in the living area.
All in all a wonderful house and a wonderful stay. We will return to this property the next time we visit Glacier.

Great house!
Everything was great. Lots of room. Views were spectacular. The host is. Dry nice and will spend time with you answering all questions and is full of information. Plenty of amenities. Didn’t really need anything. Wi-fi was slow so they could be improved. House is a little far from the park so you have to get up early to beat the crowds. However, if you stay inside the park you’re far from everything you lose so you have to decide what you want. We would recommend this house to everyone. Can’t go wrong.

The photos of this property do not do justice to the amazing view. We loved being able to walk down to the river and caught some big rainbow trout right off the rocks! The beds are comfortable, the house is well equipped with everything you need & the host is great. We would love to come back someday!

Breathtaking view, comfortable, equipped with many amenities. Our family of 5 enjoyed this house for our first trip to Glacier. 10 minute drive to the west side entrance everyday! The owner was so kind and helpful. Would love to stay again sometime!

Wonderful house with spactaular river views
This was the favorite stay for the houses we our group stayed in during our travels. The house is as in the pictures, has beautiful views and access to the Flathead river, is spotlessly clean and very comfortable for 3 couples or couples with children. The location is perfect for access the Glacier National Park and for access to the nearby towns where you can access anything you might want. Plenty of restaurants shopping and other venues for those days when you are not hiking or driving the Sun Road. All of our group would stay here again when visiting the area. The owners were very helpful, responsive and easy to work with. Perfect experience.

Wonderful Home, Amazing View..But if you want privacy, this may not be the place for you.
This is a lovely home with a stunning view looking over the crystal clear water of the Flathead River. A staircase leads you to the rivers edge where we caught some small trout on fly. We saw deer, eagles and black bear while fishing on the river. It's only 9 miles from the Glacier N.P. west entrance and close to several stores and restaurants. The house was very clean and well stocked. The old fashioned pool table is great for a rainy day. If you are renting a VRBO with the expectation of privacy, this may not be the home for you. The owner showed up unannounced one morning at 10:30 and wanted to come in and show us a map of the area and get to know us. Strange, but he seemed nice and was helpful. He returned again the next day and left toilet paper by the front door; nice but we had more than enough, so again a bit strange. But my favorite....one hour before check out my wife and I had made breakfast to eat on the deck before our long car ride. The owner showed up an hour early to clean the BBQ grill which was already the cleanest grill we had ever seen... We were unable to sit on the deck and enjoy our breakfast and take in the amazing view one last time before our check out time. When my wife asked him how much longer he would be cleaning the grill (45 minutes had gone by) as she would like to spend the last of her vacation looking at the river and mountain peaks, he replied that he could find something else to do inside the home. Realizing he planned to stay until our departure we decided to leave. The owner is pleasant and perhaps didn't mean any harm, but when I rent a hotel room or home, I expect my privacy as I've paid for this time.

Great Location, Beautiful View
We really enjoyed our stay at the "River House". The location worked great for us as we split time between shopping/eating in Whitefish, hiking in Glacier National Park and several other local outdoor activities (zip-line, swimming, biking, fishing). The property and services were clean, well managed and helpful. We enjoyed the river valley view from the deck and access to the Flathead river extensively. We would definitely recommend this property. The trek down to the river is challenging for anyone not fit and/or athletic.
