My three friends and I enjoyed this as our quiet place to rest after exploring Boston and the local area. Would stay again! Great place to take nighttime walks, too!

I really liked visiting Boston, but man I was glad to get away from it to rest and recover for more adventures. This place was perfect for what my family and I needed: a quiet, friendly place to rest before heading back to Boston for more fun!

We had three adults in our party. We didn't need to cook. It was just what we needed and where we needed it. Thanks so much for the stay!!

Just the right amount of room for our group of four. Twenty minutes from Boston, and close to Tewksbury where my niece was competing in the American Dance Awards. Our host was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

It was clean and The location was amazing! That was about it. There were a few things I did not care for at this location. It is in their basement, which is fine! The noise policy is from 9pm-7am. They were up and noisy in the mornings before 7. It states a light breakfast like yogurt but there was only 3 yogurts for 5 people for 3 days. So that was disappointing. I also noticed they had their own personal food and freezer in the kitchen space. I was disappointed they had been in the basement while we stayed there. We left and came back and they had moved food around in the fridge. Same fridge as where they had the yogurt for us. So that is how I knew they were in there. I think they need to stay out of the space to respect their guests privacy. I think for these reasons it is overpriced. I also got charged for an extra person, roughly $100 more due to an “extra person” but I don’t understand that because it slept 6 people and we had 5. I asked about it and never got a response back. You are also told you get half the driveway but one of the days they had painters there and we had to park in the street. It wasn’t ideal, especially when you’re told differently and pay for such things. No, I would not stay here again.

I'll be honest, at first I was a little apprehensive about a listing that was part of someone's full time home. However, we had a great experience! We fit our family of 6 comfortably in the space, great distance to both Salem and Boston, quick and friendly correspondence with the property owner. We utilized the solo stove and patio and really enjoyed our cozy stay!

We were Boston for the game opener Boston vs Rutgers. What a game! Go Rutgers. Our stay was just as good. The area was beautiful, close to everything, including Boston for the game, sightseeing, shopping, an array of restaurants. The host family was warm and welcoming and the property was cozy and quaint. Great weekend family time!

We were visiting the greater Boston area for a few days in August. It was the height of tourist season, and we didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg just to be cramped in downtown. This suite in Reading makes an excellent home base. Yes, it’s a bit of a ways out, but getting into the city is very easy. You can drive or take an Uber or go by commuter rails.
The suite itself is very spacious and offers a refrigerator, washer/dryer, k-cup coffee, a dining area, TV/Xbox, a comfy leather sofa, and a foosball table, to the delight of our 10 year old. The queen-size bed is screened off from the twin bed, so there’s some privacy.
The patio looks very charming and pleasant, though we didn’t take advantage of it (we were visiting during a heat-wave, so we mostly stayed indoors).
Although the suite is connected to the main house, we had our own separate entrance, so we came and went as we pleased. It was all very convenient. Geoff was a great host, very communicative and thoughtful.

Weekend Getaway
Very gracious and friendly host- Geoff greeted us as we pulled in the driveway to orient us to the suite. He made sure that we knew that they were available if we needed anything. Very spacious suite- clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The neighborhood is very quaint and located near many restaurants, cafes, shops, etc. We had a very nice, relaxing stay and appreciate Geoff and Michelle's hospitality.

Very nice place, perfect to visit Boston
We loved the place. Everything was spotless, family-friendly and tastefully decorated. It's a quiet and safe neighborhood. There are supermarkets and restaurants five minutes away by car. The owners are very nice and helpful. Even though it was very cold outside, the temperature inside was perfect.

U Family Getaway
This property made us feel right at home. Plenty of room for all of us. We grew up in the town and the convenience of visiting everyone helped us get some many visits in. Geoff & Michelle were wonderful hosts. There if we needed and let us have our privacy. Will definitely return. Donna & Fred

Comfortable place to sleep between Boston & Salem
We had a great experience staying here while we visited Salem. Very close to Boston as well. We only used Uber as our transportation and it worked out well. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating.

Beautiful location, lovely hosts
My husband, children and I all enjoyed our stay at this property. The owners were super welcoming, very responsive and accommodating. The space was perfect for what we needed (two adults and two toddlers, 3 & under). The only concern we had were steps leading to the upstairs, which weren't clearly mentioned in the listing, so we had to think quickly to block them from our curious 17 month old. When our hosts realized our concern, they immediately offered a baby gate to try and block off the area (we ended up sticking with some chairs to block the stairs off, which worked fairly well). Overall, our experience was great - the owners even provided some breakfast options, which was wonderful. We will definitely consider this space again in the future.

Beautiful Home
Home was in a great area and convenient to highways. Uber ride into Boston was about $25. We were there in early May so weather was a little chilly. Heat in home was inconsistent but owner was easy to contact and very helpful to get heat working.

Great stay in Reading
This was the perfect suite for my family of 4 while visiting family in the area. The accommodations were just as pictured and Geoff and Michelle were very hospitable and easy to communicate with.

Highly recommend/a very pleasant stay
Even though we were a family of 7, Geoff and Michelle made room for us and everything was set up before we got there! Their basement was bigger than expected with everything we needed for our stay! It is very cute and homey! Their house is located in a cute neighborhood with a park within walking distance! They were so friendly and kind and were wonderful hosts! We definitely recommend them and would absolutely stay there again if we are ever back in the area! Thank y’all for such a pleasant, enjoyable stay and for your hospitality!

Cute and Convenient
This property is exactly as described but the owners take hosting one step further. They were more than willing to work with us and our difficult flight times, allowing us to check in early and offering to let us store our bags in their home after checkout. We had an overall great experience!

Everything was as described, but the family had gone above and beyond with many additional touches to the apartment to make it feel warm and inviting that you don't necessarily see from the photos. Everything was very clean, instructions were clear, family was helpful and present if we needed something, but gave us our privacy as well. The neighbourhood was quiet and felt safe so we walked the 20 minutes to the train station in Reading each day. The area had many beautiful old homes and was idyllic New England. The kitchenette area was useful with a shelf in a full-sized fridge for our use, a microwave, and coffee maker. They provided a light breakfast/snacks of yogurt, apples, and everything needed for coffee and tea. There is a table with 3 stools in the living room area to sit and eat or work from. We had 3 people and the area was spacious and comfortable to move around in.

Perfect stay right outside of Boston
We had an amazing time during our stay in Boston. The home was just perfect for the 3 of us. Our host was incredibly nice and helpful, we always knew that he was available for any questions or tips. We slept great and we were able to get to the nearest train station and into the city in just a few minutes. The area felt extremely safe and was in a great spot for our travels up north to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. There were also several options for dinner or drinks just right down the road. I would definitely stay here again on future visits.

Perfect
If you are looking for a perfect place to stay outside the hustle of Boston then this is your place! Our stay could not have been any better. The owners were amazingly attentive and helpful. The suite was the perfect size for my wife and I, however, it definitely could accommodate more. This trip was one of our more memorable ones and this property was a big piece of that. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

Great Location Clean - Your spot for the Marathon or Boston SIghtseeing
This is a great location for anyone trying to get in and out of Boston.
Good things: Owner super responsive, everything they said you would ave was there. Good spot for family - sleeps 4 comfortably. Bathroom really clean. Easy to get into. Good parking. Foos ball table and big tv with comfy leather couch to hang out on and watch the Red Sox games. Big clean refrigerator and washer and dryer. Super nice patio with great furniture. Painless off street parking. Wifi signal strong. Great value - no way are you getting a hotel anywhere near here for this price.
Minus: You are literally in someone's basement. So, since it was ridiculously humid, even though they have a big dehumidifier, that creates heat which then the air conditioner fights against. The only sink, is in the bathroom. So no way to really do anything with the coffee mugs which are provided for use with the Kuerig and microwave. So, if they put in a sink, counter space and an window air conditioner to help the other one out, this place would be a 10!
Would I stay again, all things considered? Yes. Clean, spacious, super nice owner wanting to make sure all goes well. Thanks for sharing your space with us!

Great space for a weekend in Boston
My wife and I really enjoyed our time during our recent visit. The space is large and private and the homeowners were very welcoming, including giving us local recommendations.
We really appreciated the private entrance since we were coming in so late and leaving after the homeowners and they saved us a spot in their driveway so we didn't have to street park.
We didn't mind the sound of the kids walking around upstairs, but renters should note that this space is the basement of a family who does live in the house and shouldn't be surprised.
The space was perfect for us though and we'd happily stay again if we ever find ourselves out there!
