Poorly Managed!
Poorly Managed!
Arrived on Saturday night after flying in from Melbourne with my five children to find that there wasn’t any toilet paper in the entire house! Not ideal after nearly 4hrs of transit. House was expectedly hot and stuffy after warm day and being shut up. What wasn’t expected was that the air conditioner downstairs, where 3 of the 4 bedrooms are didn’t work! Not off to a great start? Thank goodness for the pool? Early the next morning kids were straight in the pool briefly after finding fermented cane toad on the bottom! I then contacted the 24hr after hours number provided to voice my concerns, with no apology given but told that the aircon and pool service men would be coming the next day? After waiting around for the service men the entire day, no show, no communication from management! I then called after hours number again and spoke with a different employee who didn’t know anything about my complaints, she simply had been given the after hours phone the previous night with no information being past on! After informing her of the problems she was most apologetic and told me she would organise service men for 2 days time with the next day being Australia Day. Aircon man turned and to manually turn on unit as receiver and remote were broken! This meant aircon would run 24/7 which was better than no aircon! Other complaints. Very poor outdoor lighting, flood lights to front of garage hanging off the wall and not working, light to the bbq area not worth turning on, used a torch to cook! The bbq itself needed cleaning as there was mould spots all over the grill plates. Next problem we had was that the oven stopped working. Which turned to be an isolation switch, which wasn’t labelled and looked like any other light switch, being turned off! A simple label or maybe this being part of the information booklet would have avoided another service man being called out? Speaking of the information booklet, there is no information about the services in the house only detailed cleaning instructions before your departure, which includes the bins being put out on the street for collection regardless of the day you leave. This had not been done by the previous guests and the bins were rancid! All in all the house has so much potential in a great location but poorly managed and maintained. For over 3K for the stay I expected a lot more, especially after staying in a resort the previous year where we wanted fo nothing, for less money!

Needs some loving care
Needs some loving care
Let me start by saying the managing agents (LJ Hooker) are fantastic. Very helpful and responsive to problems. Great people. Can't fault them. That said, this property needs some work. The furniture is old and some of it desperately needs replacing. The pool area and outdoor area needs a very good clean (I don't think the pool area has been cleaned since the previous review in 2014!). The windows were filthy. The BBQ is rusty and had a gas leak. (LJ Hooker quickly attended to these problems). Inside, it needs a fresh coat of paint and a thorough clean. If the property was fixed up it would be 4 stars but in its current state it can only be 2. It is within easy walking distance of the main beach and shops. It has a great view of the ocean from the upstairs verandah. The pool is great (with a lap pool area). Its kitchen has an excellent array of cooking equipment. TV and stereo are good. Generous size for 7 people. One word of warning re the location: If you don't like noise beware as the traffic noise in the main bedroom is a problem for light sleepers. Overall a nice property that needs a refresh.

Great location but a tired property
Great location but a tired property
Peregian Beach and village is a great location. This house was well located but is tired and the pool area was quite dirty. Nice views from the top deck and living area.
