About this cabin rental
Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family
Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.
As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only four other homes nearby. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels, rabbits, or even wild turkeys!
This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch cable TV or streaming services.
This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the map!
Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.
Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small areas in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

We came not being sure of what to expect. The stay was awesome. Beautiful views with wildlife everywhere Just a wonderful stay. Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet getaway!

The property was close to hiking and downtown. The only issue was the loft steps. They were easy for the two of us to manage. Cabin was clean and well stocked.

We had an amazing stay. The cabin was the perfect size for us and our 4 legged children. The location was quite and there were lots of wildlife. It was also located close to downtown Prescott allowing us to easily access to restaurants. The grill onsite was great as we made several meals. Overall I highly recommend staying here.

This is my second time staying at this property and I have loved my stay each time. My mornings were complete with deer, javelina, cottontails, and all manner of birds. I love how quiet and secluded this little property is. I will definitely be back!

We recently have been through a rough time, and this is what we needed

Sleeping setup was described online as 2 twin beds &1 double. But the twin beds were up in attic crawlspace, no room to stand up. And the double bed was actually a saggy foldout couch. We finally got a decent sleep on the 3rd night when we put the couch mattress on the floor.
Would also suggest having a smaller lamp or two - instead of only being able to turn on 5 or 3 bright lights all at once (no dimmers).
That said, the cabin has a nice cozy feel and the deck and environs were delightful. Town and Good hikes within short drives.

The cabin was as advertised, very clean and had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of wildlife coming thru the property multiple times a day. Thank you for letting us use your cabin.

The cabin was very nice and nestled in the perfect spot for plenty of wildlife to experience pretty much all day & night. Would recommend for small families or a couples retreat.

Wonderful is the wird that works best for me, but i could have excellent, beatiful, peaceful, serene...etc.
I traveled with my pup Augie. We chose this location (Prescott, Az) specificallly for its general proximity to Sedona, while also avoiding the crowds of Sedona. We were looking for a quiet "cabin in the woods" type of accomodations as our base camp. We feel so lucky to have found this place.
Janet and Dan were very accessible and friendly. The cabin was in fantastic condition, very clean and super comfy. While their

The quaint cabin was perfect! I spent most of my time (when I wasn’t golfing) on the deck enjoying critters and the quiet. I can’t wait to return!

The cabin is a perfect place to stay surrounded by nature. Lots of birds and wild animals, it is a great occasion if you want to relax. The cabin was perfect size for me and my spouse, the owner was promptly available and gave all the necessary instructions. I strongly recommend it.

Cozy and cute little cabin. Had everything you could need in the small space. The land surrounding it was filled with beautiful woods and lots of deer, turkeys, and rabbits. Lots of bird song. Very peaceful and relaxing. The only negative is that the stairs to the loft were steep and a little difficult to navigate for older folks. The loft would be great for kids or teens. Nice place overall!

We decided to finally do an overnight stay in Prescott and choose our anniversary to make it happen. It was a cute cabin and had everything we needed. It was a little warm in Prescott but the a/c unit made it comfortable inside. The hide-a-bed wasn't the most comfortable but we knew about it going in and it didn't detract from our trip. There were a few spiders inside but that's to be expected when you're out in the forest. My husband killed 2 but the rest didn't bother us. We did enjoy the deer, javalina, and wild turkeys wandering through and near the property! Overall, a great trip and we would stay again if the opportunity arose!

Clean, nicely appointed, cozy but has everything you need, bring your own coffee, beautiful setting in wooded area (deer, javelina, turkeys, birds), great deck, responsive host, close to the square.
Weather was great & heat/AC not needed. Caution: pine trees do "mist" sap on everything outdoors. Looking forward to returning.

Me and my wife Taylor had our honeymoon in this cabin and decided that it was time to go back half way into our first year of marriage and it was perfect once again and exactly what we needed….. Words can’t explain….❤️❤️

Everything was as stated. Easy process with no issues. Cozy place in a quiet neighborhood. Was able to see deer walk through and hike local trails. I would recommend adding a blow dryer and coffee filters as they were not present during our stay.

We enjoyed the cabin and all the wild life we saw. The owner seemed super sweet and everything was set up nicely. The driveway was easy to get in and out. My only complaint was the couch bed and the pillows. I would stay there again but probably bring my nice air mattress.

This is our 2nd time to Prescott. This place was a true find. Even though it has a sleeper couch, it was very comfy. The turkeys act like a neighborhood watch. Lol. Saw some beautiful deer an a few havalina. We stayed for almost 3 weeks. How to do it again.

My wife and I had a great time at this quaint and cozy little cabin. The cabin is well stocked with all the necessities. Janet was amazing to deal with through the whole reservation process and stay. I would highly recommend staying here for a nice quiet getaway. We can't wait to come back again soon!

From the moment we arrived at the property we fell in love! It was exactly what we needed and expected. A decent sized cabin to relax and enjoy the surrounding wild life.

We really enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holiday. The cabin was well equipped and warm. Our host thought of everything - even a small Christmas tree was set up for our visit! The views from the property were lovely. We were close enough to Prescott to enjoy the city, but far enough to appreciate the quiet and calm of the forest. A lovely stay!

This was a great getaway tucked in the trees. After the events of the day, this was a nice quiet place to retreat to.

We enjoyed our retreat in the pine forest. Deer, javelina, and turkeys are visible from the deck. There is a toaster oven but no oven. We improvised. Very sweet place.

We could not have found a more perfect place for my family and fur babies! Cabin provided everything and was immaculately kept! We only left the cabin for Bills pizza and walking the dogs. Our dogs were kept safe on the gated deck while we enjoyed grilling and playing cards on the deck enjoying the scenery, wildlife and each other. This morning herds of deer passed our cabin at 7am and got some amazing photos for our memories! This cabin is warm and cozy and we wanted for nothing except more time! We did not use the loft but is a really ideal place for a couple of kids like a super cool fort! It’s very quiet there minus when my dogs got excited yet was the most perfect place to enjoy family! We missed it before we even got home! Thank you so very much! Can’t wait to come back to make more memories!

Me and my new bride booked this cabin for our honeymoon getaway and we couldn’t be happier. This cabin was perfect for us and we have never felt more rested. We can’t wait to come back!!

My wife and I spent hours on the large balcony, watching turkeys, deer and other wildlife. The cabin itself, while designed more for a family with older children, who could enjoy climbing up the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms, was very well cared for and had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. The cabin has a sleeper couch on the first floor. The location of the cabin is wonderful, not too far from town and yet providing a great get-away in the woods. The owner of the cabin was very responsive, when I called. This is a great place to stay!
