Overall, it is very nice, and there are tons of attractive features:
Tidiness, modest but aesthetically placed IKEA-style furniture,
Location: extremely closely nearby you get the railway station, a couple of restaurants, EDEKA supermarket. The rest of the town is also not far away, because the town is very cozy
Most of the time it is quiet.
The neighbours are very pleasant. When they wanted to make a Saturday evening party they asked for our permission. I don’t think we were in position to forbid it, yet that was nice from their side
The terrace with ~50 square metres back yard is probably the best feature. It is surrounded with green fence, and is a great place to stay
However, to fully enjoy this place one needs to be aware of certain features. They are not bad, just one needs to know them, and really understand in advance.
The apartment indeed induces mixed feelings. Here is why.
There is no washing machine in the apartment or in the basement. The nearest laundry service is about 200 – 300 metres away, and it has got quite definite availability days and hours. If you are doing lots of sports, just be aware. Probably that is the local rule or tradition.
The dishwasher is the narrow version ~45 cm wide. Again, it fits the small kitchen very well, but it is the narrow version, just be aware.
There are tons of rules about this place. Probably RULES are what makes Germany so great and attractive, yet one needs to understand them in advance, and obviously follow:
You will need to clean the kitchen and all the pots and dishes after your stay, as this service is not included. Not a big deal if you are naturally tidy, yet it will take a bit of time to implement upon departure
If anyone visits you for longer than 1 hour, be ready to pay for that on top. It is better to discuss and disclose who and when and for how long is going to visit you with the host in advance, just to avoid surprises on both sides.
On top of the terrace there is a motorized sunroof. It is good but actually very fragile, especially against heavy rains which happen there quite often. Ideally it is better to minimize the roof from the beginning, and not touch it unless really needed. In our case it got somehow damaged by water, while we had no clue when and how it actually happened, which caused again unnecessary and unpleasant discussions.
In the backyard there are a couple of cats. Probably they belong to the neighbours. If one sleeps very cautiously, a cat running across the yard at 3 AM might trigger one’s internal alarm. Just be aware of those fluffy intruders. Use metal curtains to avoid visual disturbance.
Read all the house rules, which are handwritten and placed in multiple locations across the apartment. The more you are familiar with them, the better
The building has some internal rules as well, e.g.

Location was great, house was fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Very clean place, the house has a little garden which is wonderful. There was a bit of Christmas/ winter holidays decorations, which made the place warm and comfy. Inside we did not miss anything. Also, our host were very friendly and responsive!
I wasn't a big fan of the open shower in the bathroom. Showering kids made a big mess everywhere, but I think that's just a personal taste. Also, the property has no parking, so one has to look for parking at the end of the day. However there were plenty of parking places close by.
