This cottage is a pleasant retreat from the hectic day to day life. No television but pleasant evening music is more than enough. Morning sun is glorious rising through the trees. You are surrounded by ice cream shops, farmers markets, song birds. The town won't let you use their beaches, so the state beach is your best choice. Go and enjoy!

We love coming here. This year, we brought our croquet set and played in the big yard. Ate a lot of meals outside, as well, under the shade.

The location was great, an easy walk to the harbor and bike ride to the beach, and convenient to in-town shopping, restaurants and Woods ice cream by car. The outdoor shower was wonderful!
It was a stormy and humid.week and we spent a lot of time indoors. It was a nice little cottage, but would have been much nicer if it were cleaner…we cleaned the screens of dust and cobwebs which made a difference in airflow. We also cleaned the gas grill, which was very dirty, but made the most of it all.
My older children loved the cottage feel and the huge yard for games and just hanging out. We had a few good days at the beach and on the river, and the cottage was in the perfect location. Cleanliness was the only issue…

Beautiful yard, great location and comfortable cottage

This place could have been really cute. Instead it was a little bit lacking in the maintenance and cleanliness departments. Overall great location and was happy it was pet friendly for our dog. Enjoyed our stayed but probably will not rent again. I only mean to leave an honest review, negativity is not my purpose. I think all of the rave reviews hyped up the property leading me to have high expectations that weren’t quite met. Fine overall if you are not planning on spending much time indoors. Quaint place with no frills.

The property is in a great location on Westport Point in the historical district. Fabulous old estates dating back to early 1770's. Cottage has lots of yard space. Dog friendly which was a game changer for us. Luckily we had great weather and nights were cool. No AC so hot nights may be tough. Outdoor shower was great. No TV though but that was a good thing. Could use some updates on curtains but otherwise we loved it.

The property was just as described and perfect for my family. Two of my boys stayed in the small cottage or the “she shed” as they called it. It was clean and well stocked with paper goods and kitchen needs. Could not have asked for a better place to spend our week.

Our 2nd year in this magical cottage. Quiet and peaceful. The little cottage in the back is a favorite with our teens. Perfectly situated near all Westport has to offer. Will be back !

Cozy and comfortable
The town of Westport Point is very picturesque— and the cottage — rustic and elegant at the same time — provides great access to the town, nearby beach and scenic surrounding communities.

Cunningham Lane Rocks!
First time renting from Bowers family for 2 weeks on Cunningham Lane in Westport. Cannot. Beat. Location. The house was perfect for our group. We are so glad we connected with this little “gingerbread” home. ;)

Stay at Westport Point
Dedee was very welcoming to us. She was easy to communicate with. The location and property is truly beautiful. An easy walk to the wharf at the point and the yard is spacious with chairs and a grill. We had a magical week.

Nice and Quiet Getaway
We were looking for a nice, quiet place to relax and unwind and that was exactly what we got. Westport Point is so charming and we loved walking with the dog down to the pier every day. The area is quiet but we had plenty to do. The house had everything we need and was very comfortable. We hope to return!

reluctant to review as it is a hidden gem
great location, felt welcomed and at home...check out time was a bit confusing as one place said 10 and another said 11...small in terms of everything else.

Cozy, well-equipped place
We liked it very much. Neighborhood is great, within walking distance of the docks. Beautiful yard with butterflies and birds and hydrangea flowers. You do need to bring bedding and towels but everything else is provided. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped. Lots of blankets and fans and a lobster pot which we made good use of.

Perfect getaway, can’t wait to return.
This 2 bedroom cottage (with separate extra guest cabin) was a perfect way to experience Westport. The vaulted ceiling living room was spacious and inviting, the kitchen was well equipped and the main bedroom provided us with comfort. The surrounding lawn with Adirondack chairs and surrounded by flowering hydrangeas was a peaceful way to enjoy the end of our days there. The property is expansive. There is also a small but comfy screened porch in the back and charcoal Weber grill out back. There is a nice outdoor shower as an addition.
Dedee was a pleasure to deal with and called shortly after we checked in to make sure all was well. In addition she was great ahead of time providing information we needed.
The location was great, about a tenth of a mile from the point with its commercial fishing docks and a place where you can grab local oysters, a lobster roll, chowder and local microbrews and wine right on the water.

Quiet, rustic retreat...
...steps from a very photogenic waterfront and a quick drive to a beautiful state beach. The historic location is non-commercial, low-key, and offers both privacy and isolation. The accommodation is classic coastal southeastern Massachusetts: relaxed, rustic, unfussy. We enjoyed breakfast in the screened back porch, listening to birds and the breezes that kept the humidity from being oppressive. Plenty of fans in the rental helped with that. Westport Point is ideal for anyone wanting to be left alone and undisturbed; nothing touristy about it. One regret we had is that dogs are forbidden at Horseneck Beach through the April - October season, and finding a place where we could let our pooch enjoy beachcombing was a challenge. Turns out that Gooseberry Neck near Horseneck allows leashed dogs, but parking is very limited so arrival before 9 a.m. in high season is obligatory. Nice thing is it's free, whereas Horseneck charges $20 for a day-pass if you're out-of-state (and, again, no dogs allowed!) The owners of this rental were quick to communicate by email and phone, definitely appreciated. Road work on a nearby bridge was audible on weekdays but it looks as if that project will be completed before the summer of 2019 is over. Overall, a nice hideaway for a couple or a couple with two or three young ones in tow. The outdoor shower helps relieve some of the limitations of the single bathroom in the main building.

It is a wonderful, simple old fashioned summer cottage with a beautiful yard
We love coming back every year. While the owners have managed to keep it very simple, it has everything needed. The kitchen is better equiped than my own.

Peaceful getaway!
My family and I had the most amazing vacation. We have been traveling to Westport for years but this was our first time renting. This cottage is what storybooks are based on. The family who own it were so accommodating and kind. We hope to be back every year!

A Wonderful Stay!
What a wonderful stay we had in Westport Point! The three-season cottage was charming, a typical sea-side cottage of our youth. The owner called us the second day we were there to make sure everything was all set. He also gave great recommendations for outings and dining. The seashore and agriculture area around us appealed to us a lot! We would certainly recommend this great vacation spot.

Suited our needs very well
SImple old-style summer cottage down a long driveway in a small town, there are several houses nearby but due to big yards and bushes it was still relatively private and quiet, comfortable and clean, we had a lovely week long stay. Only thing I didn't like was the requirement for dragging the big garbage/recycling bins 50 or 60 feet uphill to the street on the morning we were leaving (after dragging down on the day we arrived).

Wonderful get-away and great location
My wife and I rented this house for 4 weeks and had a wonderful time. We particularly enjoyed the house’s rustic charm, its quiet location not far from the beach, its screened-in porch and outdoor shower, and the short walk down to the harbor and town docks, past many beautiful historic homes. The living room with its high white ceiling is lovely, and we spent many enjoyable hours there, reading, writing, and playing cribbage. The owners were very responsive to our questions, which made our stay even better.
