About this house rental

Our home is just outside Victoria, conveniently located between Victoria and Sidney, and close to the Victoria International Airport, BC Ferries at Swartz Bay and Washington State Ferries to Anacortes, Washington. We are on a peninsula which is semi-rural, in the midst of farmland, small villages, beaches and mountains. We are surrounded by lush flower gardens and hummingbirds almost year round. Fresh fruit and produce are plentiful from many gardens. One full level of our home plus a bedroom downstairs is included and includes a king bedroom, and 2 queen bedrooms, sunroom/office/double bedroom, new bathroom with all toiletries provided, kitchen/dining room equipped with all cooking supplies to meet your cooking needs plus coffee pot and coffee, a large living/TV room with cable TV and WIFI. A barbecue grill is available on a large deck as well.

New tennis courts with lights for evening play are two doors down, plus playground and forest hiking trails are just down the street. Bus stops are just across the street which connect us to all Victoria and area destinations in minutes, so a car is not a true necessity. If driving, Butchart Gardens is 5 minutes away, the airport and Sidney (with Washington State Ferries to Anacortes Washington) 10 minutes, BC Ferries at Swartz Bay 15 minutes and Victoria 20 minutes to downtown. Mountain trails and beaches on both sides of the peninsula are 5 to 10 minutes. Bike paths are accessible which connect us easily to both Sidney and Victoria.

The best kayaking is available just 5 minutes away in Brentwood Bay on Saanich Inlet and Todd Inlet, where you'll likely find starfish just under the surface, also a destination scuba spot nearby.
Panorama Recreation Center is 5 minutes away for everything from hockey, gym and racquet sports to pools and waterslides.

Great location for access to the Commonwealth Pool for the BC winter provincial swim meet. Frankie's home was a terrific base for the back & forth for the swim events. The kitchen had everything to make our meals prep very quick & easy. Thank you Frankie for your recommendations for groceries & bakeries.

We stayed 3 nights while sightseeing in and around Victoria. Very accommodating host to us and her gardens and plants are spectacular! Clean and roomy home with all the things you need while traveling. We all noticed how comfortable the beds are! Easy to get to with shops and coffee nearby. Lovely stay. Thanks Frankie!

Frankie's place is unlike most vacation rentals because it feels like home. Super comfortable, bright, spacious and lacks for nothing. The one item it lacked was on our doorstep immediately. The gardens are spectacular and it was great watching the wildlife from hummingbirds to salamanders. Definitely a return visit on the calendar.

Both Frankie and her home made a get away with my Mom and sisters all the more special. The house was very homey, clean and comfortable and well stocked. Frankie went above and beyond with fresh cut flowers from her garden adorning the house and brought us doughnuts from a near by specialty bakery. She was very welcoming and personable. Would for sure book her house again the next time I'm in the area..

Staying at this lodging felt much like staying at one’s aunt’s house. It is a little cluttered with personal photos, keepsakes, and sayings. But it is quite clean, comfortable, and spacious, with many towels and kitchen utensils. The common areas are comfortable with separate seating areas should people want to spread out. The house is conveniently located: Butchart Gardens, a variety of parks with walking trails, Sidney, Victoria, the Airport, and ferries are all closely accessible by car. Be aware, this lodging requires full payment in advance; the only VRBO reservation where I’ve encountered this thus far. We were disappointed that neither fire wood nor detergent were provided during our stay.

We came back to the same spot as last year. It us so cozy and welcoming. Well set up for younger children and walking distance to a great park and neat trails. We were not disappointed at all. My grandson calls it my borrowed house. Thank you again. We will be back.

Frankie was a wonderful host. She told us about the Sydney bakery which was soooo wonderful that I may have gained a few extra pounds. This location is quiet and nice. Close to the ferry, lakes and beaches. The home was great, very clean and awesome for a family.

Frankie is a warm and welcoming woman who has a gorgeous home. Anything and everything that you need and want is available in her beautifully designed and decorated home, deck and garden. Everywhere you turn and look is another delightful sight! I can’t say enough about how perfect our stay was. Celebrated my mom’s 80th in style and comfort. Frankie had great recommendations for day trips and activities and provided a beach blanket and water shoes to boot! We had so many choices about where to comfortably sit or lay and read for hours after our kayaking and hiking day! The amenities are all new and work well (small and large appliances). I wish I could post pictures of the soothing, spa like features of this incredible B&B on the peninsula. Be sure & look for the hummingbird nest adorning the window sill in the kitchen! 💜 We WILL be back! Our new beloved home away from home.

Our family of 6 stayed for a week. Lots of room for us to relax and spread out, indoors and outdoors. Frankie is a very warm, friendly and helpful host. Home is in a quiet neighborhood with a great park, playground and ravine just a short walk away. Easy location to drive to different destinations on the island. We would stay here again!

This property was an absolute gem made better by the host. The house is as pictured and very comfortable. The house was very clean and well appointed and having fresh flowers about the place made it magical. The host is very welcoming and showed a real interest in us enjoying our time in her community giving us tips on where to go and what to check out. It was a great experience and I very much recommend to anyone looking to stay in Saanich.
