About this house rental
Angel’s Trail has everything for the vacationing group, whether it is a large family gathering or friends wanting to hang out by the fire. This home is easily accessible off the main highway with a gently sloping paved drive. Less than 5 minutes from the ski slopes and the town center with views of the golf course and the club house, the home sits on two acres which gives one a feeling of seclusion. At any time, elk wander through the back yard and deer come up to the front deck. With three large decks, there is plenty of room for the adults to watch the younger ones ride bikes in the summer or build snowmen in the winter.
With two master bedrooms and two guest bedrooms, the home accommodates 10 people on regular beds and one futon. The upper floor houses the master bedroom with a king bed, bath, and a loft with a perfect reading nook, queen futon, and desk if work beckons. The main level is the great room, with kitchen, dining, and living area open to each other for quality gathering time. There is a large wood burning fireplace with a gas starter and electric blower to add that cozy feeling. There are also two guest rooms on the main floor, one with a queen bed and one with an XL twin bunk over a queen bed. The lower level off the back deck has a queen master with an en suite bath, gas fireplace, kitchenette, and even its own washer and dryer. The large dining table sits nine comfortably and is also a great spot for family games or a late afternoon cup of coffee.
During the winter, getting to the ski slopes is an easy drive (less than five minutes) and the Nordic Center is even closer, just down the hill on the golf course. The area also offers snowmobiling, snowshoeing, night skiing, tubing, and horse drawn sleigh rides.
Located adjacent to the Country Club; the golf course, tennis courts, and the children’s playground are just down the hill. The golf course is rated as one of the five best high altitude courses in the US and the clubhouse has just been remodeled and offers an indoor pool, workout room, and yoga classes. In the summer, the Zip Line in Angel Fire offers the adventurous a chance to view the world from the tree-tops and the mountain biking down the slopes draws a crowd. There are plenty of trails to keep even the most adventurous hiker entertained, streams and lakes for the fisherman, river rafting close by, and quaint towns nearby to be explored.
Angel’s Trail is a luxurious home with every comfort designed to make your stay as pleasant as possible. A new water filter was added this summer, so no more hard water! The large windows in the great room provide sun in the winter and a breeze in the summer with a stunning view every day. The lovely furnishings reflect the cabin feel, from the oversize couch to the timber bunks. The modern kitchen with its beautiful hickory cabinets is fully furnished with everything from a Keurig coffee maker to a crock pot plus a large griddle to cook pancakes for a crowd. We have tried to provide all the comforts of home – all you need is the food! There are three TV’s, (one with a home theater system and a BluRay), Roku TV for all the TV’s, and high speed internet for your entertainment. However, we hope the beauty of the home and its surroundings will be the most memorable part of your vacation at Angel's Trail.

We went for a get away weekend with no real plans, but to relax and spend time together and we had a great time and the home worked perfect for our family get away.

No doubt, this is the best VRBO we've stayed in to date! Very well appointed kitchen with a host of sturdy cookware; valuable to us since we cooked every meal. There is plenty of comfortable seating and beds for our family of 6. We greatly appreciated the access to the garage, allowing us to easily and safely store our mountain bikes when not in use. The property is conveniently located near everything Angel Fire has to offer, as well as the grocery store. We enjoyed the hot tub many of the refreshing, cool evenings and had many action-packed family air hockey and foosball tournaments! Everything on site is well maintained and fully functioning. I was even impressed by the grill, which tends to be one of the things that property owners tend to skimp on. We cooked on it many evenings - steaks, burgers and sausages! We'll be booking here for every visit to Angel Fire from now on.

We had an amazing time at this cabin. It had everything we needed and truly gave us the Christmas cabin experience. Will definitely visit again in the future

Close to ski lift. Clean. Kitchen well stocked. Close to grocery and some restaurants. There was an issue when we first got there and owner was responsive and had it fixed. Driveway and road were well plowed. Would stay again.

We had a lovely stay the week before Christmas, 2023. Our family was made up of two adult couples, one single young man, a seven year old, and an infant. The house easily/comfortably would sleep 9 if you really want a bed for each person. We obviously had plenty of room for our group. This cabin is beautiful, CLEAN, stocked with basic kitchen staples, plenty of extra blankets and pillows, games, books, etc. You can tell the owners try to take into consideration what renters may want. The hot tub was perfectly clean. The host was very quick to respond to my few questions and was friendly and even allowed us to alter our check in time due to the timing of a cranky infant’s sleep needs after a 12 hour drive. The downstairs/secondary master/“mother in law suite” was cool and nice that it has its own entry. It was inconvenient that it doesn’t have “internal” access to the home. You have to go outside and either up the deck stairs to the back door of the cabin or outside, then into garage, and up stairs from inside garage into the main cabin. Not a huge deal but just something we didn’t realize so I thought I would share that for anyone considering the property and whether that works for you. It didn’t work out for us in the way we intended to use it but that certainly didn’t ruin our trip. Just pointing it out. We were SO close to the ski resort so getting back and forth for skiing was super convenient. Overall - perfect :)

Overall, after the extremely stressful check-in process, our stay was generally lovely. There were some things that really should have been attended to prior to the stay (e.g., burned out light bulbs, broken window shade, some cleanliness issues such as dried-on food on utensils in the silverware drawers, etc.), but it was still nice. The most significant issue was the owner not sending correct access information prior to check-in; she was further not available for several hours (not until the next morning), which is the first time I've not had an owner/manager not ensure that same day that I had been able to gain access to the property. Furthermore, her initial response to me was unprofessional and off-putting, as she seemed to place blame on me for not being able to access the property (i.e., stating, "That's never happened to anyone else"), but she later course-corrected after discovering it was her error for failing to send out the correct check-in information in advance. The first day was difficult because of this, but the owner made amends.

Check in process difficult
Multiple lock boxes
Every time we opened a door the alarm signaled us and I assume the owner(annoying)
Hot tub dirty and jet shooting water out of tub
Trash in waste baskets
Futon had no padding
Air bed would not hold air
3 people slept on the floor
We sent text messages and pictures to owner no response on any of the complaints
She did how ever text us asking “how many of you are in your group.”
“Please add more”
(We rented for 12)
I asked her to look at her cameras to confirm our numbers if she was in doubt
She said she was traveling
I said she could send her housekeeper to confirm our numbers if she was in doubt of my word.
very disappointed with this Vrbo

House is beautiful with big windows that allow in a lot of light created great views of the snow falling. Unfortunately, Angel Fire ski resort was closed for the season. Skied at Taos approx. an hour's drive. Excellent skiing experience. The house had all the amenities and was clean. Lovely big garage to park car. The downsides. base of driveway had a lot of mud and was difficult to get up. Master shower lacked water pressure. Overall, a great place to stay in Angel Fire, NM

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was perfect for our two families. One couple got the downstairs to theirselves while my wife and I took the master upstairs. Kids fit perfect in the two other rooms (boys in the bunk room). Hot tub was the perfect addition to a long day on the slopes. With some recent snowfall, we got to play in the powder around the cabin building sled runs and having snowball fights. It was a blast! Felt like we were in the woods with no one else around. But a quick 3-5 minutes drive we were back downtown and at our favorite local spot Taty. It’s a must try! We went three times in four days!! All in all we would happily stay here again.

The house was really nice and property manager was really good to get back with us. They had everything we needed and more. It wasn’t as clean as I expected it to be but overall we were satisfied. There was a lot of snow so we had trouble even with 4WD getting in and out of driveway but I would stay there again

This house was perfect for our group of six. My in-laws stayed in the honeymoon suite to have their own space while my husband and I stayed in the main house with our two kids. We went sledding on the side of the house, tubing at Angel Fire Resort nearby, and did a few hikes at Cimarron State Park. The house was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay.
Only issue we had was a strong propane smell when we arrived. Called the owners who said they’ve had it checked recently. We figured out that we just couldn’t use the fireplace in the suite as it seemed to put out too much gas that we weren’t comfortable with the smell.

The kitchen was well supplied with cookware and knives that were a joy to use. The pantry was stocked and had room for others items we brought. That was great not having to live out of food boxes. The beds were comfortable, and the decor of the house was inviting. The view out the windows and in the hot tub was breathtaking. We loved our stay at this house.

We've stayed here twice and look forward to coming back again. It's such a nice house - cozy, country and modern. Wonderful part of New Mexico. It's secluded and yet in the country club. The hosts do a great job of providing and maintaining.

Friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was the perfect size for us and just 5 minutes away from the lift at Angel Fire. Garage was perfect spot for us to work on our bikes each day and we really enjoyed the open dining room. We will be back next year!

Great getaway to Angel Fire
We had a great time. Location was convenient/peaceful and the house was well-equipped. Highlights included the big dining room table for puzzles/family meals and the hot tub after a day of skiing. We would definitely go back if we return to Angel Fire.

Absolutely gorgeous
This home is conveniently located just a few miles from the slopes in Angel Fire. The property is everything it is listed as being. My sons and their wives all said “AWESOME” when we first entered the house and that wanted to come back. The house has a very functional floor plan. It’s well maintained and the location and views are beautiful.

Beautiful property and location for outdoor fun
The wildlife sitings were a daily experience and lots of fun for our group. Location to ski hill and other activities; hiking, snowmobile adventure, etc was excellent. We did miss our scheduled tubing time at Angel Fire resort due to the 12 inches of snow the night before. The lesson we learned is to call early if there is lots of snow cause it is hard to get in/out with 2 wheel drive. The home is beautiful and we had all the pots/pans, dishes, etc we needed for our group of 9.

Great Scenery and Great Home
It felt at home is the short of it. There was plenty of space for the 8 of us. Pros and Cons below:
PROS:
-Large dining table! Everyone was able to enjoy each others company and the high ceiling is something we didn't have at home so it was lovely
-Hot tub is a must! If you haven't tried it in the snow, its an experience
-View from the living room wit all blinds up is beautiful
-Heated tile floors are a luxury I will never be able to afford but the experience was amazing
-Garage was large enough for our van! and has tools and sleighs too
CONS:
(I am nit picking here so please takes these as my personal experience and that yours may not even be a CON)
-It is not obvious by looking at the pictures but there are TWO seperate living areas, the main and 2nd floor and the basement dwelling. The basement dwelling is located on garage level and you can only access it by walking around the house. If the owners can take a picture of the back side of the house and post it showing where it is, that would help. We were disappointed the first night because we had to sleep on couches and air mattresses but to find out the next day that there is a "hidden" room underneath the patio. It's partially my fault for not looking at the fine print but just a review warning.
-Main drive way from the road is kinda steep but our van with 7 inch clearance barely made it. But if there was snow or ice on road there would be no way to climb the slope without 4x4. There is a also a side entrance going through the trees to another road that is not steep but also not paved.

Recommended after owner fixes a few things
We really liked the location and the home. The property is beautiful and the amenities are wonderful. The owners were easy to work with and responsive. I would give this property and our stay 5 stars if everything had worked as expected. The oven broke and would never heat above a certain amount making it very difficult to cook and impossible to bake (which we attempted to do). We also attempted to use the grill, but the starter is broken and there was only matches (a disaster waiting to happen). Also the hot tub took over 3 hours to heat up and lacked up to date instructions on use).
All that being said, the property owner was appreciative of the feedback and I do believe they are or will be correcting the above. I would check with them before booking just to be sure. If there is no working oven or grill, or properly functioning hot tub, it is not worth the price asked.
All that being said, I have confidence the owners will address all concerns. And on our next stay in Angel Fire, this property will be on our list.

Family Reunion
This property was excellent! It had 1 large master suite, and a honeymoon suite downstairs with a private entrance. The main house had two other rooms that worked will for the rest of the group. The house had a well supplied kitchen and 2 sets of washers and dryers. It is located close to walking trails with other nearby activities. It was great to hit the hot tub at the end of a busy day.
