The house has a very large open living room upstairs, plenty of bedrooms for us. The backyard is large, although most of it fairly steep slope towards the lake. The lake was up several feet when we stayed, so the beach in the photos was under water. Pella is a 7-8 minute drive away. Overall we liked the property.

We get together each year with my cousins from Nebraska and Illinois. This year we attended the NASCAR race at the Iowa Speedway. This VRBO property was a great home to accommodate all of us together and easy access to the Iowa Speedway.

We had family from Nebraska and Illinois meet midway for some quality family time with babies up to grandparents. Great house to accommodate all our needs! We cooked, ate, laughed, played cards a just hung out. Really enjoyed the town of Pella and renting a boat for a day on the lake. One thing, the walk down to the beach area is more challenging than you might expect. Not all of our family members were able to make it down there, so sharing as an FYI.

House was clean and very spacious and a 5 minute drive to the marina. I would highly recommend it!

We rented this property for 3 nights for a family getaway and were thrilled with the accommodations! The open concept was perfect for our family and the space is larger that it appears in the photos. The house had everything we needed and the owner was a dream to work with! We highly recommend this property for your stay in the Pella area.

This was one of the cleanest rentals I have ever seen. Beautiful view!

It’s a gorgeous open floor plan house with 6 bedrooms, two large living rooms. Perfect for our extended family to gather and reconnect. Close to the beach with shallow water perfect for kids. I’d highly recommend it.

Loved the spaciousness of the living and kitchen areas!
The trip to the beach gets steep at the end so we were unable to take the infants. Would be awesome if everyone is over 5 years of age - both for beach and bunk beds that are available.
We had a wonderful time with our 4 adult children, their spouses and 5 kids age 4 and under!

Amazing House and Location
Perfect house for our group! Great spot where you are a short drive to downtown, but can spread out in the huge backyard which also had a great fire pit. The inside is beautifully updated and was very clean! I will definitely stay here again!

Wish we had more time to enjoy the stay.
Excellent place to stay, wish we would have had more time to enjoy the owners property. Beautiful location and excellent neighborhood. Highly recommend! Would only suggest TVs in the main bedrooms. 😁

A wonderful week
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "Lake House" (as we called it). The home is very understated (and almost small-looking) from the outside. As soon as you step inside, you are struck with the openness and beauty of the home. It is simple in its design, but very practical and usable. The double deck/patio is wonderful and well as the dining table inside. The arrangements of beds worked well for our family.
The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils.
We had such a wonderful time in the water. The back yard is long and sloping, and leads down to the lake. It has a wonderful fire pit a nice distance away from the house with a dozen chairs around it. We brought our kayaks along with us and had a wonderful time playing in the water and on the beachy area. The water level stays shallow for 20-30 feet, so the kids loved playing in the water.
As our family grows and we can no longer stay with "Grandma and Grandpa" at their house, we would love to use this house again in the coming years.

Luxury by the Lake
This is a beautiful property. Very clean with many amenities! It is a bit of a sleeper as it doesn’t look that big from the outside but it is quite large with luxurious furnishings.
We celebrated with our family as we had been unable to be together for 18 months due to the pandemic.
The location close to Des Moines was perfect as our son flew in from the Air Force.
All total we were 7 adults and 3 children (ages 5, 7, and 12)—the bedrooms and beds worked perfectly for this group. And we all want to know where you got the sumptuous bedding! We all slept like babies!
Kitchen was fairly well stocked with pots, pans etc. (The only suggestion would be an exhaust fan—probably a benefit to owner and renters alike.) Plenty of room to seat us all at the dinner table and a little overflow at the bar if need be. And plenty of room to watch the summer olympics and play Scattergories at night!
We were a short walk down to our own beach and had a lovely fire pit area for roasting marshmallows and making S’mores.
Plus, Pella has some lovely shopping including bakeries and butcher shops. The Lake Red Rock visitor center was very nice and very kid friendly. We loved the Vermeer windmill museum as well.— worth the visit!
And best of all…Brandon was so responsive and flexible with us.
Thank you Brandon for everything and for giving our family a chance to reconnect! That is priceless!!

Family Group Trip
We had a great visit over the 4th of July weekend. The place was modern and clean and has many bedrooms for adults and kids. Although there were only 2 bathrooms, it worked fine overall for our group and they provide plenty of good quality towels. The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans and utensils. Beds and furniture were comfortable. We enjoyed the water although access is through a narrow path and steep, so was harder for grandparents. It was also easy to get into nearby towns for activities and supplies.

We didn’t need to leave all weekend! So much to do and enjoy on the property.

Great house with plenty of space to spread out for a larger group. Awesome for outdoor activities being right on the lake with a big yard, fire pit, and canoes to use. I would definitely go back!

Guys Weekend
Fantastic weekend at Lake Red Rock.
The description was incredibly accurate and the previous reviews highlighted things incredibly well. Loved the location with a beautiful view of the lake and wildlife. Saw multiple bald eagles, orioles, and other animals while hiking around by the lake.
Property was great for our guys weekend with plenty of room for games like bags, boccee ball, etc. House was incredibly clean and the directions laid out seamlessly of what was expected to clean up. A ton of room with great beds. Slept 12 of us 30 something guys without a problem.
Brandon was great to work with. Incredibly responsive and helpful.
Absolutely recommend for a family weekend or a friends getaway.

Reunion and Remembrance
The house was beautiful, the location was perfect, the lake and wild life were fantastic. A pair of bald eagles live in the vicinity and hunt and fly around - fantastic to watch. The lake is peaceful, very close to town. Perfect place for all my Pella cousins, aunts and uncles to come visit and get reacquainted in a beautiful environment and house. Brought back a lot of good memories from when I lived in Pella.

Fantastic getaway spit
Great location next to the lake and close to Pella, IA which was a great little town with unique shops and restaurants. Very clean and had enough space for people to roam without feeling confined. I highly recommend.

Great weekend with friends
We had a great weekend at this house. The big table in dining room was great for hosting meals.
Two pieces of feedback:
Please provide better, and perhaps permanently installed, child safety gates at stairwells both inside and outside.
Please provide mowed and easy to navigate pathway/walkway to the lake.

Red rock lake house
Property very clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views of the lake out the living area windows. Kayaks and bikes unavailable due to faulty garage door which was unfortunate. The owner was made aware and I’m sure this will be repaired. Feedback to owner: the property easily accommodates a dozen people but that’s challenging with 2 bathrooms. Adding mirrors to bedrooms could help reduce bathroom time. Overall great property and I highly recommend and would stay again. K Coleman Ft Worth TX

Perfect
We rented this home for a short family vacation and loved every minute of it. There was something for everyone- the kids ranged in age from 1 to 14 years and they were never bored. They tubed, swam, and fished in the lake. Nearby Pella has cute shops, bakeries, and a fantastic aquatic center. Fantastic vacation.

Nice place
We enjoyed our stay. Very clean. Lots of seating which was nice for our large family. Only thing that would have been nice is access to washer and dryer as we ran out of kitchen towels.

Great stay!
If you think the house looks beautiful in the photos, wait till you see it in person! Beds/pillows were super comfortable. Bring your own coffee pot but otherwise our stay was near perfect. Brandon (owner) is super flexible and communication beforehand and during was on point. Really enjoyed ourselves!

Family get together
We enjoyed the home, it was clean, comfortable and spacious and had a table that accommodated the entire family for meals, games and conversation. Enough bedrooms for a restful night. Has a location for a fire by the lake. Enjoyed it very much.

It Was great!
The house was everything you said it was. We all had room to spread out or be together.
It was a nice outside that weekend so we were able to go down to the lake and use the lawn area. The house was very clean and you supplied it many extra items we haven't found in other homes we have rented. The kids loved the bunk beds and the hided one. They enjoyed the toys and games too. The kitchen was great and we had plenty of room to eat around the table. It was close to town which made for easy trips to the bakery, dinning, etc... We had not been to Pella but now plan on returning. It would have been nice to have a second TV in the basement for the kids. The Iowa High School Basketball Tournament was on that weekend. A big thank you, to the owner, for all his help.

The house was exactly what we were looking for. Great location on the lake.
House was perfect for our family. 4 teenagers a couple of friends and my husband and I. Lots of space to relax and large dining room table to accommodate all of us. Property has its own beach and the lake is absolutely gorgeous. We rented a boat each day at the marina and brought our own tubes and kayaks. Town is close so grabbing supplies at Walmart or dinner is easy. We are already planning to come back as the house was perfect for us.

Beautiful home and view
Beautiful home that served our family well. Lots of space, modern, clean with comfortable linens. We'll definitely try to book on our next visit to the area. Beautiful view of the lake from the deck and out the windows. Quiet cul de sac but easy access to town, bike trails, parks and marina. Could easily accommodate a large family.
