We stayed with another family to celebrate a HS graduation. Was a really fun community with a lot of great activities! The house was really nice and perfect for two small families!
The property managers were awesome! The house had a MAJOR plumbing issue upon arrival. Turns out that tree roots drilled through and clogged the main sewage line out to the street. This is entirely NOT the fault of the manager/owner, still they had an emergency plumber arrive within an hour on a Friday night to clean the line out. As they say, $h!t happens, LOL, but the property managers were rockstars about it!

Great rental experience with Beachwalk. The house is older and looks a little rough when we drove up. But inside, the house was very nice, clean with a Lot of Room. Kitchen and dining area and living room is huge. Kitchen had everything you needed , and they do have a keurig. The Wine refrigerator stored all our drinks. They had a lot of amenities not listed from fishing rods, a wagon, chairs, and a fire pit. There is a nice screened in porch. Michicgan Lake is quite a walk, glad we rented a golf cart. We reserved it the next year on the way out.

This is our 4th Beachwalk Vacation, first time at Steel Away. It is a lovely property, the best location we've ever had, right on the boardwalk to get to Lake Kai rentals, the pool, the tennis court, etc. (The upstairs bedrooms were a bit challenging for 2 families of 4, since there was one room for two people, and two rooms for 3 people each, but we made it work.) Our only real issue was with the plumbing, and the management handled it well, sending someone to check on it right away, and then calling in the professionals when they discovered the severity of the problem. Resolved! Most of all, we appreciated having an option for a 1⁄2 week stay during a summer too heavily booked to get everyone together for a full week.

This property was in the perfect location! It was right on the lake which provided a great view and was very close to the pool/lake activities/park/Lake Michigan. The house was a good size and layout for our 2 families which included 4 adults and 3 kids under 3. The outside could definitely use some upkeep but the inside was well maintained. The house also included chairs and umbrellas that we brought to Lake Michigan. We would definitely stay here again!

This is my second time at this cottage. It works great for my family. I loved everything about it. My only suggestion would be that there is some ants in the kitchen that you may want to spray and it would be nice if the screened in patio was cleaned a bit. There is a lot of stuff on the screens that make it hard to see out. Plus there is just a lot of cobwebs everywhere.

So we drove to the rental and found no one was around and we could have entered. Lady at desk said it was not ready. Not true, except for the porch and it was not cleaned.

We love this rental home! This was the second time we rented Steelaway. We are a family of 8 and there was plenty of room! We loved eating our meals and sipping our coffee on the screened in porch overlooking Lake Kai. The location is perfect- being close to the pool and right by the fishing pier. Plus being able to walk on the boardwalk to the pool was nice because we could avoid walking on the street. The huge kitchen was fully stocked! The bedrooms and living spaces are very comfortable! The sectional couch was great for our 4 kids and adults to relax after a full day or beach/pool. Overall it was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay! We will likely try to rent again!

The house was comfy and pretty accurate to the online description. Upstairs mattresses could use updating. Loved to sit on the upper deck in mornings and the enclosed porch on the main level was nice in the evenings. Perfect location for pool and activities. Kids enjoyed kayaking, shuffleboard, tennis and volleyball. My only negative was the outside upkeep of the property. Weeds were very high and the place just needed a good trimming. We did rent a golfcart and that was nice but not necessary.

We, basically, just experienced some time together as, because of the Covid, we did not go anywhere except to Walmart for groceries and to the Mall for a short visit. This rental is in a great location. short distance to the beach, but the views from the porches overlooking the lake are the best place to watch the sunrise. However, the house is not the cleanest. We found candy and dirt on the floor, the rugs really need to be washed or replaced, and the house could really use just some TLC. The ladies in the front office were super friendly and helpful. we did enjoy our stay and would still return.

This house is placed right off the pier on the smaller fishing lake, steps from the pool, snack hut and other amenities. It is also only a short walk to Lake Michigan for the larger beach experience. This was where me, my three sisters, mom, dad, and my niece and daughter decided to spend our yearly vacation. The home had a great location and for the price the home was in the "need improvement" and "need of a upkeep" that you would expect. What we did not expect or plan for was that our fridge didn't work from day one. Maintenance came the next day when we called to tell us that indeed it was broken and brought us a large cooler and a small college dorm style fridge. With 7 people this was not going to work, we cook every meal at the home instead of the cost of eating out. By day three we are told the owners have ordered new fridge but it wouldn't be delivered during our stay. Rental company did bring us ice each day, but every other day we were throwing away left overs. Cause newsflash a mini fridge doesn't hold much! And left overs in a cooler of water and ice doesn't float well. By fourth day I called management and expressed our understanding but our request that the owners reimburse us somehow. The rental company sent a second mini fridge from their personal use to help with food storage. This is something that hopefully they will remember and be more equipped to handle. Was given $150 off of stay. Wasn't completely happy with that, and never got an apology from owners. Again location made the house work and lots of sleeping arrangements. But didn't expect to spend over $2000 for a home with a mini fridge for 7 people! We sincerely enjoyed beach walk vacation resort and we didn't let this spoil our family time. We decided to laugh and not cause a fuss, however, this was part of our experience that needs to be told.

Quick getaway
Size of the house was perfect for 6 people. Location being on the lake was wonderful . Inside was nicely decorated. It would have been nice if there was one tv upstairs. Screened porch wa great to look at the lake and watch the kids fishing. But there was green mold on the woodwork all around the porch and it would have been better if that was cleaned. We would rent this house again.

The place was in very good condition when we arrived. One of the bicycles had a flat tire so we couldn’t ride it but that was ok. We had a little trouble with the fireplace, we couldn’t figure out to turn it on & we had trouble switching the tv from dvd back to tv. A maintenance guy came over & fixed that. The place was well supplied and very cozy. We liked it.

We enjoyed our vacation at steel away. The location was perfect for our family with access to the dock to fish, playgrounds, tennis courts, and walking/biking trails. We were able to easily get to lake Michigan as well. The only complaint for us was the house was not very clean.
