About this cabin rental
You're going to love our brand new King and Queen beds!
In search of a beautiful, quiet mountain log cabin, private yet close to everything? You will find all this and more waiting just 'Around the Bend'.
Around the Bend Cabin, constructed with authentic western red cedar logs, features cathedral ceilings and a stone fireplace inside, and a wrap-around porch to take in the view of the surrounding mountains & woods. Sharing a private road with only two other cabins, (only 1 can be seen) the prime Valle Crucis location is just minutes from most attractions.
Our sunny cabin features three bedrooms plus a children’s loft and three bathrooms. The master suite, has a king bed and a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Children love the loft area, with their own TV, where they can play video games, and watch movies. The main level has two additional bedrooms, one with queen bed and private bath with a walk-in shower; the second bedroom with two twin beds. The third bathroom is located on this level as well.
Step outside onto the wraparound porch, the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, or take a moonlight dip in the hot tub. Explore the property's wooded acreage, then relax inside while you snuggle into the sofa and recliners, and enjoy our
SmartTV / HDTV, with hundreds of cable channels and Netflix. Though ours is a Log Cabin, you will find additional TV's, VHS and DVD players as well. Bring your laptops, etc. and love our high speed wireless internet!
The open floor plan of the main level is perfect for family interaction, and the large windows and cathedral ceilings keep our home bright and sunny. There are toys, games, books and videos for the whole family to enjoy. Take the chill off in winter with a crackling fire in the stone fireplace. The cabin is centrally heated as well.
If you enjoy cooking, then you will find our kitchen fully stocked with all modern appliances including a dishwasher. Barbecue all year long, on our gas grill. Our cabin comes with fresh linens, towels and toiletries. Though it's not needed too much in our cool mountain elevation, you may enjoy our central air conditioning on a warm summer day.
When you are ready to leave the comforts of our cozy log cabin, you will find the famous Original Mast General Store less than 2 miles away! Within minutes are Boone, Blowing Rock, Tweetsie Railroad, ASU, the Blue Ridge Parkway, four ski resorts and countless other attractions. Conveniently, supermarkets and restaurants are very close. Golfers, bring your clubs; the Willow Valley course is just 1 mile down the road. Fishing is just a short walk or drive to the Watauga River. The wonderful thing about our cabin is the privacy, and yet you are just 3 miles from downtown Boone.

The cabin was perfect for a mountain getaway with a dreamy hot tub on the porch, cozy yet spacious, and conveniently located. Will definitely book again!

This home is very nice but we felt it was in need of a “deep” cleaning to rid of dust and mold. The shower/tub didn’t drain so we had to stand in water. The stool was broke so we had to flush by reaching into the water tank. The driveway is a big challenge and unusable if you are on a motorcycle. In a car you can’t pull in without using the neighbors property. Not good. The deck was GREAT so every evening we enjoyed being outside listening to the sounds of summer.

This cabin is very comfortable with a great view from the porch!

This cabin is so clean and cozy. The owners communicate very well and are available if you need them. Great place. Highly recommend

Cabin was perfect. Stocked with all your needed items. However, I do have a few suggestions, not complaints. The small railing going up main outside stairs should be secured with bolts. Decks need cleaning and restained. Windows outside need washing. The tv needs to be simpler to use.
These are just suggestions.
Many thanks
Your best buddy

This cabin was perfect for a mountain getaway; cozy but plenty of space, secluded but conveniently located. The hot tub on the porch was dreamy after long hikes! Will definitely book again on our next trip to Boone.

The property was exactly as described in the listing. The cabin isn't very large but was quite comfortable for our family. Having 3 full baths for 3 bedrooms was quite nice. It's somewhat secluded but still convenient to restaurants and shops in Boone & Banner Elk. Despite very rainy weather we enjoyed our stay !

This was our first time as a family to North Carolina for a ski trip. The house was 25 minutes away from Sugar Mountain, nestled in a very quiet neighborhood on a mountain, and just as advertised. It was a perfect little home away from home! The kids enjoyed the fireplace and the Jacuzzi. The owner was very quick to respond to any question.

This cabin was a great location. Very quiet and private. Very relaxing watching the birds feed on the porch feeders every morning while having coffee. The hot tub was a perfect end to each day of hiking nearby. The host provides all the information you need and very responsive to questions. We wish we had booked a full week's stay. Will definately return.

Excellent location with plenty to do in the area

We had a great stay at the cabin. One we will cherish forever! The views are stunning. Being at the top of the tree line was great! The hot tub has a beautiful view, so relaxing, just what we were looking for. This cabin could have easily been a 10 experience. However, there were a few issues. The steps up to the cabin are difficult and not advertised. Coming down the steps it is easy to clip a heel behind you, diagonally is the best way to go. The kitchen needs a new set of pots and pans and new cooking utensils. It was very difficult to cook with only 2 halfway decent pots and pans. The kitchen needs a proper deep clean as well as the cabin needing a deep dust. All that said, we were very grateful for our stay.

We enjoyed our week long stay here and had the opportunity to fish a number of the local trout streams. The property is centrally located in a quiet neighborhood which made it a good choice to get away for a great vacation.

Would recommend this stay to anyone without regrets

My wife and I stayed last summer to do some hiking in the area. The cabin was uncomfortably dirty and the hot tub was not clean either. I would highly NOT recommend this cabin.

Nice home, well furnished. The steps a little difficult for someone with limited mobility. All in all had a great peaceful stay.

The beds were so comfy. Hot tub was awesome! Kitchen very well stocked. Plenty of extra towels. Host was great. It was rainy and cold on one of the days so we decided to stay in for the day but we were somewhat disappointed with the outdated electronics. The house has 4 TV’s, 2 of which are 13” tube TV’s, a 15” flat screen in the Master bedroom and the living room TV might be 21”. House was clean at the surface level but needs a good thorough spring cleaning. Overall very happy with our stay and would stay again!

The property is well maintained and the owners are wonderful. Exactly what we were looking for in a mountain cabin. The driveway is a little steep, but if you pass it and back in there isn't much of an issue. I drive a Jeep and my brother drives a truck, so that helps. The hot tub made for a relaxing evening before bed and the fireplace helped keep us warm. The TV's were a little older, but we didn't have any issues with them. They still have streaming services and fast WiFi. Overall we would book again next time we visit Beech Mountain or Boone.

We had lots of snow during our trip, everything was amazing! Thanks for having us!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It is very convenient to everything in Boone, yet you seem far out from everything as quiet as it is. This cabin has everything you want in a VRBO, and it is quite charming. We will be back for sure. Don't hesitate in staying here. 5 stars!

My kids and I stayed here for their first mountain ski trip. Had a fantastic time. Property was not far from the ski resort. Cabin was very comfortable and cozy. My children and I loved it and will definitely come again.

The property listing was bit misleading according to the pictures that were posted. It gave the impression there were no other cabins near the property when in fact there was one right across the road. The "river" access was also a bit of a stretch. While it was in fact within walking difference the portrayal of the area was not accurate in my opinion. The TVs and furniture were dated and the recliner in the den was broken. There were some nice amenities which included the master bedroom upstairs, the fireplace and the hot tub. With a few updates to the TVs and furniture this is in fact a nice space. I would also update the information about games and movies. They were minimal at best. I did appreciate the communication with the owners as they were very attentive. We did enjoy our stay despite some "disappointments" that didn't measure up to the online description.

Took my Mom away to just clear her mind. This beautiful cabin offered the perfect place to find quiet and beauty. The hostess Carol was prompt on responding to a text to answer a question. She quickly called and she was most delightful to speak with.
As we explored in the daytime, the cabin was quite easy to find by gps in the night. The early morning in the deck offered serenity. Excellent getaway ! Thank you!

Beautiful property, well built house. 3 bedrooms and 3 baths felt very roomy for me, my spouse and sister. Boone is a great little town and good jumping off place for lots of waterfalls, famous mountains, lots to do.

The cabin was very nice and rustic. Wish we could have had a little bit more of a yard besides just a deck to sit in. We like having a fire pit to sit around but this place did not have that. The cabin was very comfortable and we enjoyed being able to get away for a long weekend. It rained while we were there so we just stayed inside. We would love to stay here again. The owners were nice and checked in on us when we arrived.
