If you're looking to get away from it all, secluded, rustic, calm and peaceful Cave Creek Cabin is the right vacation rental for you! It is Arkansas' best kept secret - an authentic 1840's hand-hewn log cabin in the Ozark mountains!
Ideal for family reunions and events, retreats, romantic weekends, honeymoons, elk and turkey hunts, float trips and hiking or mountain biking; this 2,600 square foot ridge-top cabin overlooks 125 acres of elk habitat. The acreage is a Certified Forest Stewardship property with 3/8 mile of year-round creek nestled in a valley setting below beautiful limestone cliffs. We're on Cave Creek and are surrounded by the Gene Rush Wildlife Management Area (no hunting on the cabin property,) and we are only five miles from the Carver Input on the Buffalo National River, known for excellent canoeing and float trips.
Mountain breezes, rushing creeks, great views and fantastic stargazing abound here. Build memories that will last a lifetime around the massive fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Moved from Kentucky to this secluded spot, restored and modernized for vacation fun, the large, yet cozy cabin sleeps 17. We feature a full walkout basement, fully equipped kitchen, huge front porch and patio with picnic tables and porch swing. There are two bedrooms, a loft and a walkout basement "bunkhouse," a great hangout for the kids. For your comfort and convenience there are two baths; one has a tub/shower combination, the other a full walk-in shower.
When you are ready for some activity, there is a swimmin' hole, or fish the stream for small mouth bass and perch. Hiking, rock climbing, cave exploring, mountain biking, and magnificent star gazing are available right on the property. The bird and wildlife watching is great too! You may even see a bald eagle at the right time of year. Just look out the windows to watch deer graze by the barn almost every day. Grab your binoculars and take an early morning walk on the loop road around the cabin, returning to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch.
The remote solitude here draws people to Cave Creek, but cell phone reception is good so you can stay in touch. If you can get them to come inside, or if a rainy day restricts outdoor fun, keep the kids happy in our "Kids Kave" for table games, foosball and Direct TV. Your smartphone's hotspot can get you online with the smart TVs. We have a variety of paperback books for those who like a good read. In cooler months, relax in front of the crackling fireplace or snooze in the lounger and slow down for a moment at Cave Creek Cabin.
You are minutes from Sam's Throne for a fine hike. Richland Creek, and Mystic Caverns are not far away. Brochures and business cards at the cabin will put you in touch with opportunities for horseback riding, zip-lining and more! We're ideally situated near the middle river input at Carver (5 miles.) Outfitters for Buffalo River floats are at St. Joe (34 miles,) Jasper (24 miles) and Ponca (38 miles.) Floating is seasonal and rain dependent, but a short drive to reach your outfitter is a great way to experience the beauty of Newton County and enjoy some of the best vistas Arkansas has to offer.

We loved the location away from civilization but within an hour of a city. The privacy was over and beyond anywhere we've stayed. Private access to the river was great. We did use my 4wheel drive to get to the river access. This was way off the beaten path which was what we wanted. The cabin was fantastic, the view was also. The host thought of everything!!!

It is a bit of a drive back into the woods with lots of turns, but once we got a pin drop from the caretaker, it led us right to the property. It is a beautiful cabin with an interesting history. Everything was wonderful in the cabin. Lots of room and yet cozy. The only thing we could come up with that was needed was a couple of bar stools.
We were easily able to get down to the creek in a two wheel drive pickup. If we were there in the spring, it would have been great to hang out down there and fish.
We did do three stunning hikes in the area. Pedestal Rocks, Hawkbill Crag, and Lost Valley. The information in the books helped us make decisions on which hikes to do. Thanks for all that info.
We will definitely be back

Great cabin with plenty of room for a large gathering. Definitely "off the beaten path." Thanks.

Very secluded property. Perfect for disconnecting from the chaos of the world.

Minus a few issues upon arrival (broken windows, trash left inside, gate opened headed towards the creek & kitchen faucet) we were very impressed! The cabin was clean & cozy & slept 11 people comfortably. There is minimal cell service but the getaway was wonderful. The path down to the creek is rough so plan accordingly with what vehicle you drive. The creek was absolutely beautiful. We had vehicle issues and the property manager was gracious. We made memories that will last a lifetime.

We loved the cabin , loved all the little neat things on the wall, and just the overall feel of the cabin
It is about a 45 minutes from buffalo river outfitters if you are planning to float the River as we did
The cabin is off the beaten path quite a ways and you do have to drive down a dirt road for a pretty good ways to get to cabin
You will start to second guess yourself if you made a wrong turn somewhere lol
But overall we loved we where away from any roads etc and in the woods

Great Spring Break trip to Cave Creek Cabin. Lucked out and only one raiiny day. It was clean, confortable and as advertised and expected. Loved the fire pit, hiking around property, creek and Foosball. And of course, seeing stars again like they are meant to be seen!! Close to Buffalo River which was a plus for the grandkid who recently discovered fishing. Will keep in mind for a family trip again in the warmer season. Thanks Pamela.

Beautiful Cabin with Breathtaking Views!
We enjoyed our stay here at the Cave Creek Cabin! The cabin has a very homely feel to it with amazing views. I recommend to go down to the creek and enjoy the swimming hole and fish if you bring your fishing poles. It is very close to a lot of activities around the area. We went kayaking on the Buffalo and it was such and easy drive there and back. Thanks again for the stay and we hope to be back!

Just amazing - The property, The location, The surroundings!!
The entire process was managed extremely well by the property manager! The access to so many attractions within an hours drive! No light pollution and being able to watch the night sky for hours was priceless!

Very peaceful
We were unable to access the creek. The road was steep per truck. I was under the impression we could easily walk to the creek and that was a big disappointment. ☹☹☹. I think the cabin family room seemed more comfortable for a party of 6.

Amazing!!!
Best views, amazing hiking! The cabin is great and the property is so fun to explore and get out in nature. You can't hear any cars or traffic out there, just absolutely the most peaceful place! We can't wait to go back and plan to take our family. This time we went for my birthday, just my husband and me. It was a perfect romantic weekend but will also be perfect for our family. The fireplace is wonderful! The porch swing was perfect to sit and watch the sun come up! I love the outside tables, those will be great when we go back with the family. The drive to the creek isn't too bad. We have an AWD vehicle and it did perfectly fine but there are some small branches that will scratch the sides of your car if you aren't careful. We didn't want to leave!!

Thanksgiving stay
This property was awesome! We were a large group for Thanksgiving and we had plenty of room for us all. We enjoyed hiking on the property and finding the cliff alcoves and the creek! Very remote. Only suggestion I would give is to put signs out of possible to help with directions. GPS from Google Maps did not work.

Ozarks in the Fall
It was exactly as we expected from the photos and reading the other reviews. This was our fifth vacation in the ozarks and this is the area we’ve been looking for. The property is beautiful. The drive to the creek probably shouldn’t be attempted in a 2WD but it’s no problem with 4WD & well worth the time. Zero reception with Verizon but we planned for it and didn’t miss it.
We hope to return next year for a longer stay.

Well Done!
This cabin exceeded our expectations! Very clean, comfortable, and spacious. As advertised, you do need the appropriate vehicle if you want to drive to the creek; we did and it was worth it! First cabin we’ve stayed in that we would recommend.

Our favorite place
We’ve been coming to Cave Creek Cabin for years. It’s in a beautiful location, very private. Love being to go down to the creek and fish or just wade and look at rocks. The perfect getaway!

Cave Creek Cabin
A great place to stay and stay there. Definately remote and that's a good thing for us.

1. Clean, very remote location, nice settings, lot's of space.2. No WiFi and almost no cell phone service with T-mobile provider. 3. Wooden floors, railing and walls are rough - each of us got a few splinters. I don' t really understand why floors and railing can not be polished - this is probably 2-3 hours job. In any case - do not go barefoot in the house.

worst directions ever
Instructions for getting to the cabin seemed inaccurate. Very difficult to decipher. Changes seem to have been made physically from the directions, ie there were 3 concrete low water bridges, there were additional culverts, 2, newly installed. Perhaps the instructions need rewritten. Maybe people who are accustomed to the back woods would do better than us flatlanders from western Kansas. Cabin could have been cleaner , First impression less than impressive, porch covered with debri and leaves, front door splattered with something, dirty. Bathroom walls dirty and shower scummy. towels and other bath linens were insufficient for stay. we had 1 set each for a 3 day stay. needed 1 set for every day. found towels in storage but no additional washcloths/handtowels or kitchen towels/dishcloths. Watching the wildlife was great. The deer and wild turkeys appeared every day ad one day the purple thistle in the pasture was swarming with Monarch butterflies in the sun. Probably would not recommend this rental to friends our age(65 +) because of no rail on porch or up the front steps. Also would suggest a grab bar in upstairs bath. For what we paid we felt that fire wood could be provided for the firepit without additional charge and it is $5 bundle in town or along the road. *found $ in black wallet, left it on counter with brochures

Peaceful!
This was a pit stop on our way back home from a long road trip and it’s sooo much better than a hotel! Woke up early to see the sunrise and drank my coffee while the birds chirped. The roads up to the cabin are mostly gravel so glad we had an suv. I pinned my gps coordinates in advance on google maps and found it easiest to get to the cabin that way. We’ll definitely come back to this location!

Wonderful Retreat
We spent a week with a small group of friends at Cave Creek Cabin and had a great time. We were there in late July and the swimming hole was still plentiful. We spent hours just enjoying the peace and quiet on the porch. The interior of the cabin was nice and cozy and we cooked in the kitchen daily. We took drives to the AR Grand Canyon and to the small town of Gilbert and found plenty of hiking in the area. We'd definitely come back!

Relaxing getaway
This property exceeded my expectations. It was nicely presented and clean. When it says secluded. It really means secluded. I was not prepared for how removed it was. But overall we really enjoyed it. I would definately book here again.

Five stars for solitude alone!
The hardest part was getting to the cabin in our minivan- pretty uneven and confusing roads as you would expect for some place so secluded. But that was also part of the experience and it was something of an achievement when we got in:) After the kids explored the grounds and the game room and the adults took in the view from the kitchen, we settled in for the weekend. The highlight was the Buffalo river kayak trip (you put in from about an hours drive away) which was definitely beautiful and made our long drive worth it. There was ample space and a hose to set up a play pool for the kids by the cabin. There was enough cutlery and bedding. The only downside was that we set forth with the kids to the trek down to the river and that proved to be too challenging for our group and we had to turn back after a particularly precipitous section. There may be an alternate route but we did not bother to ask. Barring the spotty cellphone reception, Paula was very approachable and helped us with any questions. Maintaining such a secluded cabin cannot be without effort and I want to thank the managers and owner for renting out this little peice of heaven. I would again make the drive from Dallas just for the kayaking experience alone and I would not stay anywhere else.

Secluded Getaway
My daughters and I had a great time relaxing in the peace and quiet of the cabin. We drove down to the stream almost every day which was great. The road leading down there might be a little rough for most cars but you could walk it as well. Overall it’s a good place to get away from things and just enjoy some board/card games or some s’mores.

Tranquil mountain cabin - property is clean and inviting. The best fun was swimming and wading at the creek!

Short sheeted
We paid for 14 people but there wasn't enough towels provided or bedding for all the beds. If your group is big you will want to clarify this. We brought blankets, but sheets were to be provided and there were not enough for all the beds as well as some of those provided had large rips. Other than that everything was as to be expected. Very remote but great if that is what you are looking for.

Awesome experience...!!!
Best Cabin experience ever. The place is extremely secluded at a remote location. It's not built to look like a cabin, it's an actual wooden cabin in the middle of nowhere. We spotted two bears on the way to the cabin and foxes almost every night around the cabin, can hear them almost all night long. Spotted elks on the near Ponco town. Lot of outdoor activities closeby. Lost valley trailhead, buffalo river rafting, Whitaker point trailhead are few activities we went for, very beautiful scenic spots. The roads are extremely scenic, except for the last 5 miles which is a dirt road into wilderness, Google was able to guide us through. Joan was very patient and helpful. Cabin was very clean and neat. Would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends.

Cave creek cabin
The cabin was lovely and very remote (which we like). It might have been nice to have satellite TV, however. But other than that, this cabin was the best! And authentic logs-not some kit. Wow! The view from the kitchen widow has to be seen to believed.

Solitude, beautiful area and relaxation what more could you want
The cabin was everything and more than I expected. It was super clean and well kept for being in the middle of a forest. Overall a very restful and peaceful stay. I highly recommend the cabin if you love peace and quiet. The kitchen has all the utensils we needed. Loved the solitude and our kids and dogs loved it as well.

Just the ticket.
This was our second visit to Cave Creek Cabin. We truly enjoy the cabin itself as well as the surrounding area. It’s roomy, comfortable, and set in gorgeous surroundings. The creek below the cabin provides hours of diversion. Swimming and fishing are right down the way.
Just be prepared to travel quite a distance to float the Buffalo if you go later in the season when levels are low.
We will be back!

WOW!
If you are looking for a quiet cabin in the woods, this is for you. The cabin was everything that was advertised in the pictures. It was clean and organized when we arrived. Tip: make sure you follow the directions to the cabin closely and remember to bring tick spray. There were no bugs around the cabin but if you venture down to the creek you will get ticks on you. Our time there was very peaceful and we will be back soon!

Paradise Lost
Love this cabin and the land and creek access. This is our second trip here and look forward to many more. Secluded and very fun for outdoor enthusiasts. The creek is so beautiful and peaceful. You REALLY feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, which is something I think we all need from time to time.
