About this farm stay rental
Welcome to our Helen, Georgia Farm House. Tucked away in the mountains of northern Georgia, it is a very quaint, single-level home with a detached Bunk House. This property is also known as the old Taylor home place and has been in our family for four generations. It is located one mile north of Helen in the community of Robertstown. Our home has three bedrooms, two baths, a natural stone gas fireplace, a carport, a covered front porch, a screened porch, and a covered deck. It sleeps eight people and is perfect for cookouts, reunions, and family get-togethers of all kinds. A fire pit is available out back and is perfect for cooking those late-night s’mores that are so scrumptious. Wi-Fi and streaming TV are included.
Our Bunk House has two double bunks, two single bunks, and a full bathroom so it is perfect for children who want a bit of freedom and the thrill of sleeping in a Bunk House like old times. It sleeps six.
The Chattahoochee River is only a hop, skip, and a jump away. Take chairs, floats, and fishing rods ¼ mile down the hill to enjoy. The Chattahoochee Cheese Market is also located there and sells cheese, bakery items, and mountain spirits.
Unicoi State Park and Lodge is a mile away. The 53-acre Unicoi Lake has a beach, cookout facilities, campsites, kayaks, paddleboats, canoes, and zip lines that are all popular attractions.
If you are interested in tubing down the Chattahoochee River, Cool River Tubing is approximately a mile and one-half away in Helen. In addition, Helen offers a water park, miniature golf, and its very own roller coaster – Georgia Mountain Coaster. While in Helen, don’t forget to buy some delicious chocolate at The Hansel and Gretel Candy Kitchen or to visit Betty’s Country Store for some ole timey food items you had forgotten about. You’ll be glad you did.
Waterfalls are in abundance in the area. Of particular note are Anna Ruby Falls and Duke’s Creek Falls.
After a busy day of hiking, biking, horseback riding, tubing the Chattahoochee, or shopping, come home and relax with a glass of wine on one of the three porches. If you decide to cook out, a grill is provided. When it's time to go to bed, turn on your ceiling fan and drift off to sleep under a blanket surrounded by cool mountain air.
This vacation will certainly be a memory-maker. Come find out what we mean.

Our 3 generation family stayed in the Farmhouse over a late February weekend to celebrate a number of birthdays. The close proximity to tourist kitsch in Helen and beautiful hiking at Unicoi was great, the retro decor was nostalgic for us grandparents and the kids especially enjoyed their own private bunkhouse. A very friendly neighborhood cat was a big plus - along with the tire swing, pool table and firepit. Shawn was immediate in helping us solve the fireplace lighting (unlit pilot light) by text. All cell phone coverage in that area is spotty - we could call out by standing in the street but not in the house - until we switched to internet calling which then worked perfectly.

We used to live in the area and came up to visit family and friends for the holiday. The house was perfect for our family/friend Christmas gathering. Great location cute house with everything you need, except wifi. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great family Christmas at the house! Plenty of room! All the things we needed to cook with- even measuring spoons and cups!
The internet and phone service were horrible though, just be warned. None of iour 8 different plans of Verizon tower phones could get any signal, but my granddaughters ATT did work fine. The tv worked well too and had many premium channels to keep the kids occupied… but they loved the tire swing and yard more!
Overall it was pretty cool and old time homey and Helen was beautifully decorated for the holidays!!💜

This was a great place to get away with family for Thanksgiving. Nice, pet friendly older farmhouse on the outskirts of Helen, GA. Even though the internet and cell service were limited we enjoyed our stay and it forced the grandkids to spend more time with us around the fire pit.

THE >ONLY >UPDATED THING IN WHOLE HOUSE WAS ONE BATHROOM AND IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO SHOWER FOR AN OLDER PERSON. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS WORN AND LOOKED AS IF IT CAME FROM A YARD SALE. FOR OVER SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR TWO NIGHTS WAS A WAIST OF MONEY.

Plenty of room for guests and very easy to get to and from Helen. Shawn was very responsive when we had questions and was very helpful. The bunk house was an added plus and help creates more room for more people.

When we got there, had no cell service and VERY slow internet. BUT, that is not a bad thing. We as a society need to disconnect every once in a while, all weekend long kids complained about the internet while the adults thrived and left our phones on the charger in the car. Use your phone in town and quit complaining. 97.1 THE RIVER comes in well on the radio. Turn on the "Stones"light a fire, and shut up. Shawn texted us after we got there that evening to see if we were in and doing well. We were. Its my grandmothers home, stuck in a pre 70's vortex. Enjoy it!. Maybe mawmaw was still there, maybe she wasnt. Either way she never complained to us. Go to town, drink some beer, buy some useless s#!t, eat too much, blow way too much money......your on vacation! Thanks Shawn.....had fun.

The place was very charming with that old farmhouse feel. The pool table was a hit. The screend in porch was very nice. We loved the yard and the fire pit. We have a visit from a flock of turkeys. The kitchen had a lot of stuff but could use an update to cull out some of the outdated well used pots and pans, glasses, cups, plates, there were no bowls. We had to go out and buy plasic bowls and a can opener. We left the can opener for future guests. Otherwise, the place was very much like home, comfortable with a lot of space for us, our pups, and our adult kids. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Families from California, Missouri, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and South Carolina stayed at this lovely farmhouse. We gathered here just a step outside of busy Helen to sleep peacefully and enjoyed the quiet. This home had many, many spaces available for separate talks among the family and also large spaces for when we all were together laughing.

Main house master bedroom was interesting to stay in to say the least as we experienced something that caused goosebumps and my dogs to freak out. We ended up staying in the bunk house because of the ghostly experience we had in the master. Besides that the house and overall experience was good.

Shawn was incredible to work with. There was a burst pipe (weather related) when we arrived but her team took care of everything and we were able to stay with no problems. The house is comfortable and we had all the amenities needed to cook meals (fyi - there is no food delivery we found out the hard way :)). The porch was a relaxing place to sit and the fire pit out back was cozy. We did not use the cabin but if we had teenagers they would have loved it.

This was a great property for our big family. Plenty of elbow room. If you are looking for a little country with a dash of historical southern charm… this is the place to stay. The property owner is awesome and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Kids LOVED the bunk house out back… it was like a play house for grown kids. We will definitely go back!

Family time
This was a great house to spend time together, close to town to have fun exploring Helen. The owner was quick to help us with a little problem that came up, due to a switch being flipped. Had a blast, can't wait to return again.

Thanksgiving holiday stay
The property was exactly as described. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. The house has a rustic charm. We had 14 in our party and had plenty of space for everyone. It is located within minutes of downtown helen and close to othe sites and stores. We had a blast!

The place was lovely, very rustic and comfortable. Lots of room for family.
The owner was very punctual in resolving one issue that we had encountered. This is an older property and reminded us of our grandparents home and our childhood home. We are all 60+ and this house was perfect. Can’t wait to return with my grandkids. So much to do with a big yard and multiple porches and patios. Situated next to a Church in a very quiet and small community within 1 mile north from Helen. Can’t say enough good things about this house.

Great place with plenty for kids.
Plenty of room for everyone so we never felt like we were on top of each other. Location was very convenient. Only suggestion would be more staples included. Only 4 trash bags total (and were supposed to double bag) and ran out of toilet paper in the main house on the first day. Great communication with renter.

Great house for family stay but needs some updating
This is a beautiful older home in a great location five minutes from downtown Helen by CAR. You cannot walk to town unless you want to take a dangerous walk along the main road which has no shoulder. There are three bedrooms and one bath in the main house and four bunk beds and a bathroom in the bunkhouse. The main house bathroom has a free standing tub which three family members loved. It was too tall a tub for older family members to climb in and out of so they had to use the bunkhouse shower which was not a big deal. The cable/internet was fine and the den furniture was comfortable. So were the beds. The living room furniture is badly in need of replacement - stained and uncomfortable. The kitchen also needs some updating, particularly the cookware which was old Teflon pans which were scratched and peeling. We fixed one meal there but didn’t want to use the pans again. There was no doorknob on one of the bedroom doors (???!), just a hole where it should have been. Again overall, no major things wrong, just things that kept us from giving this stay five stars.

Felt like home
We arrived to a charming old country decorated home. The home was clean and beds comfortable. We had an amazing time in the home and enjoyed watching the wild turkeys grazing in the yard. We had an amazing 5 days at Helen and hated to leave.

Pretty old farmhouse on a gorgeous lot
Very nice place. We had a great time, especially hanging out on the screened porch. It was handy that we had WiFi. plenty of parking. Lots of places to sit and relax and very quiet. There are a couple of minimal repairs - a doorknob is missing, some porch furniture cushions are well past their prime and some of the porch screens need to be fixed, but nothing major. We were a bit light on towels, but the washer and dryer is right there. Lots of little slogan signs and kitsch, but cute. Great getaway spot.

We had a wonderful stay!!
This quaint home is just a couple of minutes from Helen in a quiet neighborhood away from the hustling crowds. It is beautifully done. There's room for the family to spread out or hang together one of one of the porches. The owner is very friendly and gave us advice on where to visit in Helen. We had a great stay and look forward to returning!

Happy New Year!
It was great spending New Years 2021 weekend with family in Helen. The house is really close to town and nearby waterfalls. The bunkhouse was perfect for the boys, both 12 and my nephew. The house is a bit quirky. The beds aren't that comfortable and the kitchen was only adequate for making family meals. The porches were great. It provided a nice space to drink coffee in the morning, happy hour in the afternoon. The fire pit was nice. We did have to dig out lots of ashes in order to use it. It was perfect for the moment, but we'll likely look elsewhere the next time we stay in the area. Just need better beds, showers, and updated kitchen.

Helen was even more Beautiful because of This Stay!
The beautiful town of Helen was only a 10 minute walk from our stay, and 3 min drive to the center bridge. He had an awesome time (Safely) and followed the guidelines, but that didnt stop us from enjoying a week at this great home. The firepit, the boardgames and the spacious land was a major good time to our stay. This home made Helen 100 times better. The owner was very pleasant and accessible (via phone call). Everything we needed was there for us including Wifi, a big kitchen, a cabin for the kids right outside, Tvs and 3 Showers, and to top it all off, the home resides next to a church for sunday morning.
